I've been sort of in love with the idea of a top with a proper bra built in for quite a while now, and it seems Panache has a sports one now. Various reviews have said that the cups in their sports bras are veeeery generous, so I'm lead to believe that at a 34J/JJ I could maybe go for ...a 34H? How many of you are outside of the labelled range but gave it a go anyway? Can we safely figure the sports top would be every bit as epically wonderful as Weirdly Shaped And Well Photographed makes the bra sound? Read more 42 more words
After seeing that review, it seriously makes me want to try the 28H and 30H sports bra (using a low-risk method like trying it on in a shop). I never bothered because I thought 'there's no earthly way I can fit in such a small cup size', but I do know that Miss Shapen and I are comparable in bra size (though possibly not shape). My Enell was a disappointment in terms of a sports bra, though quite nice as a house bra. (Also with an Enell, because it's compression, you can use it to store random stuff in there, like my keys if I go for a bike ride :) )
If you went for the bra, not the top, you could run in the band if it was too loose. They haven't done anything fancy with it. You'd probably have to put some darts in or something if you upsized in the band to get good cup volume in the top.
A lot of other reviews have said that you may want to pick a size down in the cup compared to what you'd normally wear (not so much you can shove yourself into something which is 4 cup sizes too small), so I'd say if you're wearing a 34J in some bras, a 34/36H may be a possibility.
Yes, lot of people need to size down in the Panache sports bra, but not everyone. I needed to even size up! When I wore 28F in most of my bras (panache, freya, ...), 28FF was okay in the sports bra. So beware.
The top looks nice :) I wonder how difficult it is to fasten.
So, I might be on the hunt for some Freya, Fantasie, and Elomi bras in 34JJ and/or Goddess bras in 34N. (They all have the same root brand, right?) I actually like the idea of the "flimsy" wires. The ones Panache uses are just way too stiff. I like taking naps. Man, I loooove taking naps. Lots of them, and ...changing before them is a pain in the butt. My Fantasie Kara is the only bra I own in which I can very comfortably nap. I'm guessing it's because the wires move with me? Or maybe it's just a better shape for me? Either way, as unpopular as Eveden brands are for their flimsiness, I kinda think I want a million of their products. Read more 64 more words
I haven't found Fantasie wires to be weaker--in fact, stronger than some other bras I've tried. But I don't wear that size so I couldn't swear to it. I'd vote for the shape fitting you better. Look on this site for sizes. For some reason I thought Elomi had wider wires. I love the look of Fauve but they don't have the upper stretch lace I need.
Elomi and Goddess have the strongest wires of any brand I can think of. It's only Freya that has weaker wires of the Eveden brands. It may be owned by the same people but each of hem has very distinct construction.
Also I have found that I get more support when non stiff materials are used, because the elasticity balances itself out? It doesn't really make much sense to me.
Also I think Freya has better construction than Fantasie but that could be a personal bias rooted partly in my lack of Fantasie options (and my being bored by their designs).
Finally got my Comexim! It's almost perfect on me except that the wings are shorter then I would like. I'll get some pictures up soon. The wires are narrow enough, which is impressive! There's also a tad too much projection in the center, but otherwise, I'm in heaven!
Just added pictures, I hope they are helpful. If other angles would be helpful for finding what size or style might work for you, I'd be happy to add them. This band is super stretchy but true to size. The cup runs about a cup size large.
I love the prompts in the bra adventures box. Mine just now was asking about the bras I wore before I found the right size. Ah, that brings me back to the good old Wal-mart bra shopping days. Grabbing everything that looks almost big enough and going with the ones which sucked the least. Those were mostly 44 D/DD. I should have realized something was wrong when I was able to stretch the whole band around my boyfriend and do up the hooks! (Yes, he objected and thought it was weird.)
So frustrated. In the beginning of the month I ordered a Panache Sophia tankini from Breakout Bras. It took a while for it to ship, but it finally did. Unfortunately, USPS tracking says it was delivered 2 weeks ago- but I never got it. We have a locked mailbox and parcel box. I don't know if it was a breakout ...bras glitch or a USPS glitch but I want my swimsuit ;(. Mail lady says she can't remember even if she put it in a normal slot or the parcel box.
Breakout Bras has not as of yet been willing to send a new one or a refund (which would be am easy way to make or lose a customer). If the suit makes it to me, I can return it, or if it gets back to them they could keep it...They say they are waiting for USPS to investigate. My local oat office has no idea when I call them except "hopefully whoever it went to will bring it to you or put it back in return mail.
I am hoping Breakout Bras will do the right thing so I don't have to try to get a refund or a new one via Paypal. But every day there is no suit I get more grouchy, and every time I don't hear from breakout bras (or get a vague sorry but this is really your own fault email,) it bothers me more. Sigh. Sorry for the rant. Read more 192 more words
In your shoes, I would probably go ahead and file the paypal dispute. You cannot file a paypal dispute after 45 days have passed since you sent the payment. Sometimes a seller will just try to stall you until those 45 days have passed.
But, paypal will probably side with breakout bras, because you have no way to prove that you did not receive it. Which sucks. I would go ahead and file, or else file with your bank. You have a better chance with your own bank.
Sorry to hear that :( But didn't they need a signature from you on delivery? Also, I'm not sure if it depends on the country, but isn't there an office for customer protection that you can contact to file a complaint?
In the summer I'm more likely to cheat and not wear a bra at all. Of course if that's not an option, I recommend something either wireless, or a less well fitted bra with really soft materials or a camisole. I already know I'm smaller than you so these suggestions might not work for you, but for anyone else interested, if you have my sized breasts or smaller (30G/32FF/34F) or very self supporting or light breasts I highly recommend it. Perhaps some of the non-wired sports bra options out there might be worth the gamble (though they might smoosh your breasts together and that cannot be pleasant).
No, not if I'm wearing a lighter, well fitting bra. I also wear light materials like cotton tees all the time and don't spend a lot of time outside though. Some bras are tortuous but maybe try to find a bra with lighter material or find a bandless bra if you don't have one. I love my bandless bra :) I live in Florida and it's winter here though so I haven't really gotten to test it out in hot temperatures.
I just posted on a FB page this question: What does it mean if a bra presses into my ribs at the front where the underwire goes? Too tight band? Straps too loose? Wrong style for me?
It only happens for me in my EM bras and it turns out that a whole lot of us are having the same problem. Does anyone have any advice for us?
If I'm getting this right, it sounds like you're wearing it too low with a cup that is too big or likely the band too small or both. I don't quite understand, so perhaps if you could draw or take or point out a picture that illustrates this issue, I could better help you.
Thanks for the reply. It digs in to my ribs at the lowest point of the underwires at the front. The cups seem perfect, but the band could be small. I'll try an extender and see if that helps.
Owing to some luck with listings, I've ended up with 3 Ewa Michalak Sm Be\u017cyk (389) in 3 different sizes in my hands. With all the reading I've done recently about people sizing up too much and using tight bands to compensate, I thought I'd try out some sizes which were possibly going to be too small ...with looser bands to see if it would help with any of my fit issues. All that's happened is that I am super confused. More puzzled than when I started out.
I got a 70J, 75J and a 65L, so I'm technically missing one cup volume in the middle, but I don't think that would be a better size. I've created an album with all 3 bras and recent photos, both clothed and just in the bra. I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to be so stressful and confusing, so perhaps some objective eyes will help me figure out what's going on. Pictures are sorted smallest cup volume to largest. The 65L has been altered by me because I've kept that bra, and it was (a lot) too tall and the band was too long to be comfortable. The longer bands in the other two do compromise the support a bit, but because EM bras are so stretchy, they haven't really affected things too much when I have everything in place. I've figured out I definitely don't want a looser band, and that a reasonable amount of tension is necessary to keep my projected, heavy breasts in check.
My thoughts 70J- Cup Width: 15.6 cm, Cup Depth: 33.9 cm The width on this bra is definitely the best. Everything seems to be encased with no space at the side of the bra. It's already too tall for me, there's space at the top side. Bra is far too shallow, giving me too-small bra cleavage. I know some people like this on occasion , but I'd feel seriously uncomfortable, and to be honest, I don't think that quadboob is ever particularly flattering.
75J- Cup Width: 15.9 cm, Cup Depth: 35 cm There's a tiny bit of space at the sides of this bra and a reasonable amount at the top. It's still quite a bit too shallow and I spill into the middle. The bra also almost has the 'upside-down 7' which is more common in CK bras. I'm not sure how well I captured that in pictures. Quadboob still visible under a shirt, although I'm not seriously spilling out unlike the smaller size.
~Missing cup volume would go here~
65L (Altered)- Cup Width: 16.1 cm, Cup Depth: 35.9 cm This is pretty much 'minimised' for me. My breasts don't really compress that much, and this is the closest I've got to managing them in this fashion, and it does odd things. Cup height isn't a huge problem because I removed the top triangle of fabric. I don't know how well I've captured it, but the seams of the cup cut in a bit, and there's this odd sort of flat plane across the front of my breasts.
So basically, all of the sizes seem to be wrong to me! I was really hoping that one of the sizes would be less wrong than the others, but I have no idea which one that is. This is about as narrow and deep as bras get in this size range, so I'm thinking I'm back at square one, which is 'I need to buy two bras and splice them together to get anything to fit', and that's completely cost ineffective. Either that or I need to sew the bras myself, and I still can't find anywhere which sells wires which have the right dimensions, so I'd be buying bras to get the wires to put in my own bras. I'd like some other eyes on this though. Does one of these sizes seem better than the others? This shouldn't be so difficult! Read more 594 more words
Well now, this is baffeling. The thing is, 70J profile view is a perfect fit. Wires, shape, coverage. The works.
The front and the semiprofile.. No go. The thing is, I feel like ideally you would need a bezyc that has wires and outter cup exactly like the 70J, but gore hight 1cm taller then 75J (so 75JJ i guess) but the coverage of a 75J. That said, I think that size (75J) isas good as it gets in this bra. I do see a hint of quad but I think it's bearable.
So in theory, if you were to order a custom bra from ewa, I'd go with 65K S style with a custom higher gore. I say S because they are much more stable then sm.
I am in a different size range but see some similarities... I also escape or quad boon out the center with excess room on the outside where the strap meets the bra. As far as I can hypothesize, I think my roots are short as opposed to tall. So with support and good projection, the top of my boob goes out close to 90 degrees like you (vs a taller root which looks more like a backward C instead of a sideways U). In my case, I am also high set. So the apex of bras frequently are too tall/not aligned withy apex which lends itself toward the upside down 7 look. (And contributes to the bra migrating south as the apex of the bra tried to align wig my apex)...I think sometimes altering the bra like you have tried to do maybe the way to go.. I do find going tighter in the band works better than looser for me in terms of maintaining shape...
When you have requested something different from Comexim (like lower cups, higher gore, 3 hooks instead of two and etc.), how long have you waited until it's been dispatched? I'm assuming they then sew the bra from scratch for you?
I've only received one order so far with customizations (reduced cup height), and it was shipped out maybe a week after I ordered it?
I never received a confirmation/despatch email from them though; the only reason I found out it had been shipped was because I emailed Anna just out of worry! I've heard other people have experienced the same thing, so apparently it's normal to not hear from them for every step of the order process, unlike some other companies. If you feel unsure, best thing is just to email and ask the status of the order.
I placed another order during the sale a few weeks ago, and I haven't heard if mine has shipped yet, either.
So I just received this bra in a 32H for my endless search for a nude tshirt bra. I had tried the Cleo Maddie but it was not deep enough in the cups in the 32H and the 34H. I quadboobed in the 32H too. However the Cleo Juna I believe ends my search for a nude bra without all ...the frills of the CK Tease me that I loved so much. The tease me was about one cup too small in the 30J. The 32H Cleo Juna fits just about perfect! So anyone who was on the search for a similar fit to the CK showgirl bras in a nude or black without all the lace, this may be it! I love half cups and balconette bras. Please Cleo make more colors in the Juna!! Read more 76 more words
I love Juna! Seems like it's the only bra that works for me these days. I hope Cleo comes up with more variants of Juna too!
The Darcy is coming out this spring again with yellow background and flamingos! There are a ton of Juna variants, and I'm sure a bunch are hanging around in the listings and on ebay because typically the Juna does not work in blingmom's size range.
My review of the Ewa Michalak S Trapez review was published on the blog last Friday I hadn't tried a padded bra in a long time, so this was a new experience with decent results. Still not a fan of full padded bras, but the cleavage and lift is nice.
I just got off the phone to Damaris at Damaris (yes, the owner/designer who's actually named Damaris!), because I had to return my latest purchase as it was too big.
I have three other Mimi Holliday bras in the exact same size (28B), which all fit great, however I noticed that the fit and measurements on this new one are closer ...to the too-big 28C that I already own.
Damaris confirmed that they changed the sizing of ALL Mimi Hollidays starting with the SS2013 collection, so that they are now fitting one cup size bigger than they used to. E.g. a 30B is now the same size as the old 30C used to be. This is because they'd had feedback that the fit of Mimi bras was coming up small compared to other brands.
Big problem for me, as the one option I had that fits me has now disappeared. I'll have to get online to Ewa Michalak and order one from there I guess.
Hope this is helpful for the rest of you. Read more 119 more words
do you know if they are referring to the new models of SS2013? Or they are also changing their existing models?
The important question here always is "Is it possible to tell them apart?" If it is impossible, then they failed. I am always surprised on how short sighted brands can be when making those decisions, it shows how they cannot see beyond selling their new bras and completely forget about everything else they've put on the market.
I got the impression that this applies to ALL bras being sold in the SS2013 and future ranges. So that would presumably include old models still being sold. The only way I've found to tell them apart is to try and find somewhere online where it says which season collection it's from. For example, I've been hunting today for Mimi 28Bs and found the Mojito range, then googled "Mimi Mojito" and discovered that it's from SS2012 (I think).
Bravissimo's house brand was recommended to me by a couple of Bratabasers, and I want to order from them, but they don't take Paypal apparently, and I don't have a credit card, so I'd have to buy a prepaid one. With their prices where they are and the Canadian dollar tanking as it is, I'd have to get a $100 ...one and that would only get me one bra from their house brand and since there isn't another darned bra on there to add up to under $100 I might as well get a pair of matching shorts, but mother of ducks, I just can't justify spending that kind of money on ONE set of undies. *slumps* Read more 57 more words
That's frustrating. Is there anyone that could buy one or two for you and you pay them cash? Or would it be possible to get a debit card through your bank?
Also, if you have a style you were interested in, make an ebay alert for it so you could possibly get it cheaper.
You could try buying some of Pepperberry's on sale clothes! I can't justify spending that much on underwear either...
After months of waffling, I finally decide to buy the Cleo Millie Balconnet Bra (7231) . I seriously have been obsessed with this bra since the summer...and now two of the places that I buy from (figleaves and bare necessities) are out of stock in my size. The search continues though! Has there ever been a bra that slipped through your fingers?
I'm crazy about the Fauve Bronte longline in the orange color, but it was over $100 originally. Now it's down to around half price, but the quantities are very limited, and half price is still more than another bra would cost at full price. The worst part is that since it's Fauve it probably fits exactly the same as the Freya longlines, and while they're OK on me, I don't like them enough that I've ever bought one. But the Bronte is just so beautiful...
Hi. I'm going to Berlin in March, so I thought I'd ask all you nice people for shopping advice. If any of you know about lingeri-shops in Berlin carrying some of the British brands, larger cup sizes (I'm a 32H), or just awesome shops I should check out, I'd love to hear about it. I already know about Doppel D, ...and I plan on going there (I've been before ), but are there more? I'd also love to hear about clothing stores that would be worth checking out! There's http://www.onlyher.eu/ as well. It's an online shop, but you can arrange a fitting/meeting if you send the owner an email. She has different Polish brands apart from OnlyHer (OnlyHer bras don't come in your size).
Has anyone tried the CK longline, Carmen? I'm very intrigued, and tempted to buy, but I haven't seen a single review yet. Anywhere. Has anyone tried it?
It's apparently the same cup construction as the Fleurty.
Ah okay! Do you know if the size run the same as the Fleurty?
I saw photos of the smaller sizes, and it had only 4 hooks on the back - do you have any idea if it has the same amount of hooks in the larger sizes? I'm surprised, cause 4 hooks aren't much. I had expected it to have 5 or 6 at least.
I've ordered so many bras this month, I'm refusing to calculate how much I've spent and pretending it didn't happen each time I click "place order." O.O
Haha! Cray-cray... Seriously though, unless you can afford it, you better calculate it and do something about, it'll bite you in the ass if you don't :)
Haha so true. Good thing I don't use my credit cards. I've actually been good about selling old clothes and bras and only using that money to buy new ones . So it almost doesn't count as spending a lot.. hehe :)
