The bra is very pretty, it's what attracted me to it in the first place. Quality is pretty okay too, I guess. The comfort isn't great for me because I felt the underwires at my sternum and my sides digging into me. Not great for someone with short and narrow roots. Would suit taller roots or upper and center fullness. Which is a trend I'm noticing with curvy Kate bras.
Just too big for me before I altered it.

    White Lace and mesh colorway

This bra's measurements have been altered
I reduced the height and cup depth. Used different underwires.

If it helps and you ever want another, they do also make Princess in a plunge.
So that should have lower wires to deal with for your sternum.

Good for you that alterations made it work!!

I have vertical even fullness, wide roots, and tallish roots where the tissue thins out a lot on top over a tall area.

    Colorway: Teal/Gold

    Purchased: NWT but secondhand

This bra doesn't work great with my root height; can't quite fill the apex and top of the cup because of the tall slope of my tissue on top. Also ends up looking pointy on me because of this.

The wires are... something. My first thought before I even fastened the bra was that I thought the cups would be way too narrow; not that they are particularly narrow in actuality, but the wires are just SO dang hard and thin I could ... feel them before I even put the bra on! I've never felt wires quite like this in a bra and I do not like them at all. It also digs into my sternum but I'm not sure if that is a gore height or wire issue; I usually prefer tall gores so I may just not be used to them coming up so low. Might try bending them out.

All that said though, even though it isn't a great fit for me, I LOVE the look of this bra and intend to keep it lol. I love the design and the color--this is my favorite shade of teal!

I think I might try swapping the wires out if I end up having some around that match the length and see if it is more comfortable.

The details on this bra are so cute, definitely seems well made. I never try Curvy Kate bras so I can't speak for how it compares to others.

    • tiggaren I also have vertical even fullness + wide and tallish (but thinned out) roots. It's such a struggle sometimes!

    • It definitely is the primary determination if something is going to fit or not lol! Shape mismatches for me are almost always "well if I still had this exact amount of tissue but my root was just an inch shorterso it distributed the tissue differently, I would fill everything out perfectly!" lol. For me the Cleo Lily ended up being my perfect bra :) I would try it if you haven't yet!!

    • I know exactly what you mean!! Ughhh But oh man, I'll have to try the Cleo Lily in that case! Thanks for taking the time to suggest it!

Just a bit too much in cup quadding and quadding for me. A size up may help.

Feels like I'm on to something though - definitely felt like this bra was a wow moment despite the in cup quad. Curvy Kate Ellace and Bardot fit ok, but overall just a bit too much wrinkling.. gaping.. not laying flat.. small issues. And no wow factor in comfort, shape, or looks that made me want to keep them. The shape from this bra could be a wow factor for sure! Gonna look for a 30E or 28F depending on measurements.

Gorgeous materials. Love that it isn't mesh. Love the feeling. Love the lavender. I think there is a decent amount of immediate projection, TTS band, narrow wires.

  4. Desire Multiway Plunge Bra (SG1801)

This is pretty much exactly what I want in a bra... except slightly more coverage than I'd want. It fits my splayed, FoB breasts perfectly! The band is super snug and the straps are multi-way's so I can wear it with racer-back tops.
Update: Bought a second one and still love it. Hopefully I don't get bigger before I get a good amount of use out of these two!

My most lovely bra now. Love the fit and the color. I was unsure I could wear it but even if it is not my usual plain style, it is highly wearable with most dark outfit and the pink won't show out thanks to cute design. I like the shape it gives, and the comfort all day long. The fabric is soft and thin but supportive and the overall appearence make me wish buy other colors.

This bra has been discontinued many years ago, so this review is probably irrelevant. If you are ever able to get your hands on the Raspberry and Charcoal colorway, this is the one I am reviewing today. I've owned all of the Curvy Kate Tempt Me's in various colours and sizes, and this is the only one that is true to size (in this size range). Please note I did move the straps in on mine, and the band is altered which is reflected in the measurements.

The thing I loved the most about Tempt me is the soft fabric of the cups. It ... is very comfortable when it fits correctly, or almost correctly. I fell in love with the contrasting colours of the fabric and the lace. Today, I only own this one and the Black and Blue one in 28F since these two fit me the best.

Curvy Kate has replaced this bra with the Temptress (which is unfortunately now also discontinued, but may be easier to get). Tempt me fits me better due to the shallow cups. I've tried Temptress in 30E in the past, and it was a total disaster (review here: http://bra.pe/XOga/)

    • Thank you!! I hope you are able to find one in your size. Post around on reddit, maybe someone has one laying around!

I've been "tempted" to try this. The contrasting colors are beautiful. Glad you found one that fits!

    • It's definitely worth a try if you can get the right size since they change in all the colours! Also, the wires do keep getting wider as you increase in cup size.

I have this in "berry"/dark fuschia. This bra gives the most uplift and COAP effect Ive ever had with a bra, helped by the fact that this is one if not two cup sizes too small on me and shallow.

I also own the ritzy babydoll in the black+blush colourway in the same size and it, for some reason, is slightly slightly roomier. This bra is slightly narrower, shorter, shallower, and overall smaller depth-wise in the cups (very slightly, but when all the dimension reductions are compouded it makes a big difference) than the babydoll. This bra's band seems the same as the babydoll's band, but a little ... firmer, most likely just due to it being new.

The cups are open on top so this bra visually appears to fit me since I don't quad. But I would not wear this out as half of my chest is out of the cups so the support isn't ideal (although that uplift...). The wires are firm so when the band is stretched it doesn't distend the wires. If you've tried Tease Me, this similarly shaped but more wearable and less crazy shallow.

I recommend this to FOT, but consider sizing up in cups (unless you plan to purchase as a boudoir item).

Me: tall roots reaching collarbone, very close-set (touching), average to narrow width, shallow, splayed east-west, FOT or even (unsure), centre-full horizontally. Measurements: 26" snug UB and 34" leaning bust.

Bardot is great for a projected, FOB, short rooted shape. If anything, I could have used a little more projection at the wire and a little less at the apex, but that's a minor quibble. The band runs a smidge tight, not quite as tight as I'd prefer, but such is life.

The wires are a smidge wider than I'd prefer, but I actually don't mind at all because they're so flexible. It makes it a million times more comfortable. Looking at you, Panache!

Aesthetically, this bra is even nicer in real life than in the pictures. I'm especially a fan of the unusual double bows at the gore and straps. This is the first (non-Polish) bra I've owned in multiple colorways, which is pretty awesome.e

Finally, a bra that fits! I take back what I've said about my other bras being a nice enough fit, lol - because THIS is a nice fit, with great support all around and really comfortable too.

I especially adore the material used for the cups in this bra; the smooth satin-like feel compared to the mesh in other Curvy Kate bras that I've tried. I also really like the design and colour. In addition, unlike other unpadded bras that I've tried, I think this one gives a nicer, more rounded/less pointy shape to the boobs which I really like.

Perhaps it's time to order a few more.. lol.

Got this bra through a Bratabase listing in my continuing quest for the ideal bra shape for my breasts.

    Bra description:

A pretty, sumptuous-looking bra made of deep magenta (I think it's called 'wine'?) 'satin' with a black lace overlay. The cups are edged with more black lace that has a satin ribbon in the same deep magenta colour threaded through. Three double bows -- each consisting of a large black one with a fine magenta one on top -- adorn the centre gore and places where the cups connect to the straps. The wings are made of fairly stretchy black mesh. The straps are surprisingly plain for such an ... intricate-looking bra. Also, the plain metal-coloured connectors and sliders in my opinion don't really seem to fit the bra's overall style.

The cups are shaped by two vertical seams. They are padded (a bit too thickly for my taste) and lined with the same or very similar deep magenta 'satin' that sits underneath the black lace on the outside of the cups (it actually looks more like a fine and shiny, jersey-type knit, so technically it isn't a satin). This lining certainly is pretty and smooth and LOOKS luxurious, but for me it is way too synthetic to be comfortable. I prefer my bras lined with something more coton-y. Since I purchased this bra off the Bratabase listing I've stumbled upon a bunch of other Curvy Kate bras in a local department store (of course they don't stock 28 bands there ... ) and I've noticed I really dislike the feel of the fabrics used on most of them. This may, of course, just be a personal quirk, as I don't think I've seen anybody else mention it.

    Bra fit:

Now, I'm a bit baffled by the way this bra fits -- or rather NOT fits. As my larger breast is nearly falling out of the cup and bulging unattractively (though not quite quadboobing ... ), the simplest conclusion would be that this bra is too small, but I don't think a bigger cup size would fit me any better as my smaller left breast also has issues. The shape the cups give me is weird and angular on both my smaller and my larger breasts and for some reason my naturally outward facing breasts want to spill towards the centre, something they don't even really do in a serious plunge bra. The bra seem to want to shape my breasts into 'vertical ovals' -- 0 -- which doesn't really work very well. The lace sticks out oddly -- the thick padding prevents it from sitting flush with my skin -- and even though the wires don't seem to be sitting on breast tissue and come up high enough at the sides to keep everything in, I think they are still a bit too narrow: they really are incredibly painful at the sides.

The band feels too loose for me and is VERY stretchy, easily the stretchiest 28 band I've encountered so far. Part of it may be due to the fact this bra isn't brand new, although it's otherwise in excellent condition and looks practically unworn. As it is, I would have to wear it at the tightest hook -- it works sort of, but still isn't ideal.

    Conclusion:

This bra definitely isn't for me. The shape just doesn't work for me AT ALL, and even though the design and colour scheme are gorgeous, the materials (lining and padding) are not my cup of tea. After having tried some unpadded Curvy Kates as well I think I can safely though somewhat sadly conclude I'm just not a Curvy Kate girl. I'm going to list this bra and hope it will find a better home with someone whom it actually suits ...

  12. Tempt Me Plunge Bra (SG4001)

This was a suprise hit for me. I ordered this on the basis of a recommendation here on Bratabase. I was very skeptical that this would work for me as I tend to not get on well with plunges and totally expected I would end up sending it back.

When I first tried it on I felt quite exposed and wondered if I should have ordered the next cupsize up - I did already go up a cup more than I would normally wear as I the general consensus seemed to be that this runs small in the cup. However I've twisted, turned and contorted and cannot see any ... spillover anywhere outside the cup even in extreme positions so I think the problem is just that I am not used to wearing a bra that is so open in the center of my chest - I tend to stick with balconettes that come up higher in the middle. I actually prefer the wires sitting lower at the center gore as the ones that come up a little higher always poke my breast on the larger side (I have very little space between them). While this is usually not painful I would prefer for it not to happen.

I'm not really big on the cleavage look but this gives a nice amount of cleavage without looking obscene. The band on this feels a bit tighter than the thrill me I already own (which I had to fasten on the tightest hook from day one) so I expect it should wear better long term. The icing on the cake is that this bra is *really* comfy. I can see this becoming a favourite and will probably occupy space in my underwear drawer for a long time to come. Definitely a keeper!

ETA: Having now worn the bra for a whole day I am now seeing that crease in the base of the cup that others have mentioned, however it is only happening on one side (the bigger one). So I think this is probably what others have suggested, orange in a glass caused by the cup being too shallow in the bottom. My boobs are relatively firm so the fact that this isn't happening on the smaller side seems to confirm the orange in a glass theory. It's still a keeper - the crease wasn't visible under my work uniform and this bra is way too comfy to give up.

I have been lusting after this bra for a long time. I really love how it looks on the model and a variety of other users. It's super cute too. It doesn't really look sexy IMO. I saw the measurements on another users account, said "Wellp, they're close enough," and decided to buy. I figured this bra would help me figure out my "cup depth max." Unfortunately it did not as this bra is very stiff and has an odd shape at that. I really can't account for comfort. About ten minutes of wear doesn't really tell me much. From what I recall, it felt no discomfort during ... my short time wearing it. I will not be wearing it out any time soon because of what I presume to be a shape mismatch. I have ordered this same bra in a 28D just to see how it fits. I have an inkling I may have gone smaller than I should have, but we shall see. We shall see.
The straps are of course really wide. I do not believe that they would be a huge bother to me or fall off of my shoulders. That little loopy detailing on the sides of the straps makes them feel rougher than I imagine they would otherwise be. I don't feel this detail is really noticeable when being worn so I really think it's an addition that should be left off of most bras; it seems to be a common decoration. The straps are also fully adjustable. Albeit that same bit of detailing makes it a bit difficult to adjust. I'm sure that same detail also makes it harder for the hardware to slip. Although I have never had an issue with straps self loosening.
The cups are super interesting to me. It appears to be a cut and sew foam cup made exclusively with vertical seams. I imagine this is supposed to push the bust way up and create Antoinette style cleavage. It also creates a very shallow cup with the largest cup depth near the top of the cup. Although this bra is not sold as a half cup or anything short of an average coverage cup, so the cup being designed like a half cup bra doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Nor do I think a "half cup" should provide full/average coverage as I have seen this bra do on almost everyone that wears it. It does have decent projection next to the gore. For those women with a lot of inner fullness, this bra should accommodate that pretty well. I do not have a lot of inner fullness, so that's the area of the cup that gapes the most for me. The foam is pretty smooth feeling but it is not lined so it is just foam and seams directly against the breast. It wasn't very noticeable to me but worth noting. I could see the ruffle like detailing above the edge of the cup being rough and annoying to those with sensitive skin. This style seems to run pretty small compared to most curvykate models that I have looked at. This 28:6 runs more like a 28:5 or 28:4. If you have all the fullness on top this bra should fit you pretty well. If you have soft, easily moulded breasts than this bra should also fit you. For me, this bra simply encased my breast tissue and did a bit of smooshing.
The wires were not hugely noticeable to me. Although they are pretty firm to the touch and do not warp easily at all. They say that Curvy Kate bras have wide wires. This bra does not. These wires are pretty narrow for a bra in this size. It also appears to be constructed similar to my Comexim bra; of course with a whole lot less projection. What I'm referring to here is how the under wire and the cup are attached to one another. It's REALLY hard for me to describe. This bra would have really good projection if it have a better shaped cup.
The band is once again an OK fabric. I'm certainly not impressed with the fabrics used in this bra. The elastic feels like it is high quality and it is nice and soft to the touch. The band feels super stretchy and I it only stretches to about 29". I would say it is TTS, yet have this feeling that it would stretch out fairly quickly because I immediately felt like I needed the tightest hook. My loose under bust is about 27"/28". I don't think I absolutely NEEDED the tightest hook and could probably use the middle or loosest hook, but it just didn't feel as secure as I like it too. An average 28 band wearer would think this band was perfect, IMO.
The wings of this bra go from being 3.5" inches tall (connected to the cup) down to 2.5" in about an inch worth of space. So, the wings of this bra decreases in height really quickly IMO. I thought that was a little note worth mentioning.
Oh, and the Gore! It's pretty narrow, which is nice. I am finding that there really is not that many women whom have wide set breasts. I thought I had wide set breasts for the longest time simply because my tissue is shallower there than the rest of my breast. But when I push my breasts against my chest it is clearly visible that there just is not much space between my breasts. I feel that this happens to most women after finding out about correct bra sizing. The Gore also remains narrow down the entire length of the gore. Which is REALLY nice because most gore's may be narrow towards the top but then get very wide at the bottom. I almost always have wires sitting on my larger breast because the gore does not maintain it's narrow width all the way down.
All in all I wish the quality of this bra was a bit better over all. They're pretty costly when not on sale and should therefore have better materials used. The construction is fine, although I believe the cup could be designed better. To eachs own as they say! I realize that this bra was not made for a shape like mine and due to this shape mismatch it may never fit me right. BUT! It is a really adorable bra and I hope that the cup width doesn't decrease too much with a two cup size difference. Because I want the 28D (or 28DD if the ladder is way to small) to fit as well as I can get it to for our shape differences.

Vertical seamed cut and sew bras are very common, they're called half cups. Ewa's CH and CHP cuts are like this as well as Comexim's half cups. Not all vertical seamed bras like this are shallow at the wire - in fact both Ewa and Comexim's 2-seamed half cups have much more projection at the underwire. It does appear most UK bras with vertical seams are rather shallow at the bottom.

I love the pattern and the cut, it's just like I expected. The fabric is soft and the straps are very elastic. I definitely notice that it's a plunge shape as the gore is short and the cup shape pushes the breasts toward the center. I really like the overall visual design on this bra and the matching briefs, the halterneck is cute and helps bring the breasts into focus.
The underwires are sturdy enough but the side boning is quite flexible. This bikini top does not have a sturdy and supportive feel to it, which is a stark contrast to my regular Panache bras. However the band ... is very comfortable and not super tight considering its size. The clasping mechanism to close the bra are sturdy though, and they only open when you deliberately choose to open them (as in they don't open when you're bending your back or jumping into water). The halterneck straps are cute and a nice design choice, but as previously mentioned they don't give much support: my breasts are somewhat heavy and so my shoulders bear the weight of them when I'm wearing this bikini top. As so I tend to only fasten the straps when I'm walking or swimming, when I'm sitting or laying down i tie them loosely.
The bow in the middle of the gore is another cute touch, but unfortunately one of the stitches has loosened so it's a bit floppy.
I don't fill out the bottom properly and I spill from the center so it's not a good fit, but I'm not ready to give this away because I feel so heckin cute in the bikini set! High waist briefs are the best!

Cups are open enough on top for my roots and shallow enough at the apex for me, and that is rare for me in unlined bras. So this may be shallow for an unlined bra. Also the wires seem narrow when laid flat but the wires are flexibleish so when the band is around the torso it extends the width of the cup. I love the soft velvet bits on the pattern of the cup fabric. This bra has me stumped, I don't know what else to say about it. The lace is itchy!! on me. Hopefully it gets softer after washing and wearing more. Finally I have a light mesh summer bra... right when Summer ends.

The width and shallowness and shape of this bra's cups are about perfect. The band is too stretchy and a bit too long but I'm 26 underbust so that's normal. Despite the good cup shape this bra doesn't feel supportive enough for me because the cups are too short for my comparatively tall roots. The cup height is 4.5 inches at the centre, but a large area of fullness above the cup remains, enough for me to feel too unsupported. It's good to know I prefer a cup height of 5 inches or more. You can see my breast measurements and info on my profile page.

    • I never thought support was the number one concern in a babydoll anyways - cute!

    • True!

I got the babydoll for the bra mainly. If I didn't like the babydoll part, I planned on removing it.
I love this babydoll and it will remain intact!
I tried the bra (not babydoll) in 28DD and it was way too small. Given that, I am surprised that one cup size up and I'm juuuust filling the cups. The cups do fit, but it's close to gaping on me in the center. However, I think this is largely due to the straps being in my armpits, because I have to angle them in so much, it causes more space in the center of the cups than is ... meant to be. The gore comes up higher than I need and it pokes me in the sternum. It's not painful, but it is uncomfortable. The cups seem a little bit shallow at the bottom. I need projection, so there is some empty cup at the very bottom, but I fill out the rest well, it isn't noticeable or uncomfortable. This bra gives amazing cleavage! It's very sexy and my husband thought it was something only for the bedroom, but no I'll be wearing this out under dresses https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Another issue is the band being too loose. My swoop and scoop is escaping a little bit due to a too loose a band. Even on the tightest hook this band is too big as it is a stretchy material. Other reviews were saying this band runs small, but not in this case. Maybe in this size range it is different. I would say the band is true to size but with a lot of stretch, so feels bigger. With the straps moved inwards and the band reduced, I suspect this bra will be a near perfect fit. It still fits well enough, and was a good enough price, to keep without alterations, so I'm keeping it. I will get around to altering it one of these days.

I got it in black/blush. The bow and charm at the center are crudely sewn on. I'm going to have to re-sew it (the back of the charm faces outwards), or I may just remove it all together. The bra I tried on in 28DD, which didn't fit was in the ruby/spice colorway. I prefer that so much more over this. The blush is still beautiful but the spice is really something special. If one comes along for the right price I will grab it, in either the bra or babydoll. Being a 26 band doesn't give many options, and I was hoping the band would run tight on the babydoll. I found that it does not run tight, but I like this babydoll well enough to keep anyway.

This is the best fit I've ever had with a bra. I can tell it's not perfect, but I don't have anything better to compare it with (yet). I'm sad that I have to return it, but if I had gotten it cheaper I'd seriously consider keeping it... But it was $66 on amazon and I really can't justify that.

I can wear it comfortably on the 3rd hook (brand new) so that is only adding to my desire for 26 bands, although it wouldn't be a big deal if it was the only issue - I'd happily alter it or wear a rixie clip after it stretched ... out. The real reason is that I seriously don't think I can do soft cups. First of all, I can't wear most of my wardrobe and be modest. Which is enough, really. But after having this bra on for about an hour, my skin is starting to feel irritated and itchy. I don't think I could be comfortable with this as a daily bra... maybe with nipple tape? I thought that was just a modesty thing but someone mentioned to me recently that they thought it could make this kind of bra more comfortable. Anyway, I'm not going to keep this bra long enough to figure it out, but it's something I'd like to explore later. Also, while the shape it gives me isn't horrible, it could be better. Oh, and the gore digs into righty a little https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

Positives: The fit in the cup amazed me. It seems to be just my size, with the wire circling around my breast like it's supposed to and my breasts filling out the whole cup. Even though it wasn't worth keeping, it was exciting to think, "omg! Something that fits my boobs! There is hope!!"

Note: I'm wearing the band on the tightest hook in the pictures.

  19. Smoothie Moulded Bra (CK2401)

It fits! Great bra for wide, full on bottom breasts. This one is a better fit for me than the Freya Deco.

At the moment I have ever so slight quadboob on the left, has something to do with beginning to be near that time, but it will be a perfect fit in a week. Right boob fits.

A new replacement for my Curvy Kate Entice (SG1601) in 28DD, which was too small in the cups. Surprisingly enough, the band on this one feels much firmer, which is simply wonderful (I remeasured 3 times 'cus I couldn't believe my eyes; I need to pull fairly hard to get it to 70cm). Perhaps I've gotten very lucky?

Other than that, the 28E fits excellent, I'd certainly recommend this one for shallow, full on bottom breasts.

Please read my full review for more info!
