    Didn't fit

The Angel is definitely a pretty bra in terms of pattern and design. I love the contrast of teal on black, and I adore the criss-cross ribbon on the band, my favourite detail of the whole bra. The band is one of the firmer amongst CK bras - it stretches to 30", making it quite a "true" 30. I had to size up to a 30K from my "usual" 30JJ in this, which I also have to do in other unpadded CKs such as the Princess.
In terms of shape, though, I really don't like it - I find it very east-west, and, though fairly supportive, it doesn't give ... a profile that I like. Though my breasts are lifted off my ribcage, they are not rounded - it almost gives my breasts a sort of upside down "7" shape. It seems like the bottom section of the cup is not large enough to really give a well-rounded shape. I can get a better shape by tightening the straps, but this results in quadboob, and as this is a 30K I can't exactly size up again. As well as this, I'm sure the wires would be too wide if I sized up again, as they are already slightly too large in a 30K. I'm very sad this doesn't work on me, as it's just so pretty. From what I've gathered, CK styles are best suited to GG and below.

I have vertical even fullness, wide roots, and tallish roots where the tissue thins out a lot on top over a tall area.

    Colorway: Teal/Gold

    Purchased: NWT but secondhand

This bra doesn't work great with my root height; can't quite fill the apex and top of the cup because of the tall slope of my tissue on top. Also ends up looking pointy on me because of this.

The wires are... something. My first thought before I even fastened the bra was that I thought the cups would be way too narrow; not that they are particularly narrow in actuality, but the wires are just SO dang hard and thin I could ... feel them before I even put the bra on! I've never felt wires quite like this in a bra and I do not like them at all. It also digs into my sternum but I'm not sure if that is a gore height or wire issue; I usually prefer tall gores so I may just not be used to them coming up so low. Might try bending them out.

All that said though, even though it isn't a great fit for me, I LOVE the look of this bra and intend to keep it lol. I love the design and the color--this is my favorite shade of teal!

I think I might try swapping the wires out if I end up having some around that match the length and see if it is more comfortable.

The details on this bra are so cute, definitely seems well made. I never try Curvy Kate bras so I can't speak for how it compares to others.

    • tiggaren I also have vertical even fullness + wide and tallish (but thinned out) roots. It's such a struggle sometimes!

    • It definitely is the primary determination if something is going to fit or not lol! Shape mismatches for me are almost always "well if I still had this exact amount of tissue but my root was just an inch shorterso it distributed the tissue differently, I would fill everything out perfectly!" lol. For me the Cleo Lily ended up being my perfect bra :) I would try it if you haven't yet!!

    • I know exactly what you mean!! Ughhh But oh man, I'll have to try the Cleo Lily in that case! Thanks for taking the time to suggest it!

  3. I love this bra, BUT, it's impossible to wear. Similarly to a problem I had with the Curvy Kate Tease Me, the fit is great except for the fact that the underwires are VERY painful. It is killing me that I can't wear this beautiful, well-fitting bra because the underwires stab me so hard that I am left bruised for days if I try to wear it any longer than a couple of hours.

Bratabase will say that it fits, because it looks and feels like it, EXCEPT for the severely painful underwires.

I do not have this problem in any other bras (except the Tease Me, which I also had to return for this problem). I have the Cleo Lucy, which is also a balconette, and I cannot even FEEL the wires on that bra. Same size, same fit, same tightness, but somehow they managed to make the underwires NOT feel like death.

    • I just got this in 28E and I have to say I was thinking the same thing. When I held it up to my body right before fastening it I was thinking "oh god, the cups are so narrow," and I don't think it was actually that the cups were too narrow narrow, but I guess that I could feel how firm the wires were before I even fastened the bra! It fits me ok but I think I will try swapping out the underwires when I find some plunge wires lol. Crazy. I have never had wires that feel like this!

My most lovely bra now. Love the fit and the color. I was unsure I could wear it but even if it is not my usual plain style, it is highly wearable with most dark outfit and the pink won't show out thanks to cute design. I like the shape it gives, and the comfort all day long. The fabric is soft and thin but supportive and the overall appearence make me wish buy other colors.

  5. I usually don't go for unpadded bras, but this one I really like. The band is firm and supportive, fitting well on the first row of hooks. The cups are a perfect fit, encasing all the breast tissue comfortably. The straps are fully adjustable and the criss-cross pattern and ribbon detailing are very pretty, but still sexy due to the black base colour.

This bra does not give me a cleavage, but creates a smooth, rounded shape under clothing. It is very comfortable to wear all day long and is appropriate for any occasion. It is even good as a bedroom set as it a matching suspender belt is ... part of the range.

I have two minor gripes with the bra. The first is that the ribbon is too long on one of the cups, so it bunches up slightly. I've seen this in some of the Curvy Kate model videos too, so I think it's a common error. It doesn't really detract from the look of the bra though.
The second gripe is that after I have been wearing the bra for a while I have noticed that my breasts shift slightly so a lump appears between the edge of the cup and where the fabric changes to double-lined. This is only really noticeable under very tight tops, which I don't tend to wear so considering the comfort and good looks of the bra it doesn't put me off wearing it.

  6. I bought this with the 28FF for size comparison and I found the band on this one to fit more comfortably. The cups also fit great, the centre is lower than my current favourite (http://bratabase.com/browse/panache/andorra-5675/30F/) which I like since I have wide breasts. I do have minimal puckering, but it isn't really a huge issue, since it otherwise fits fine and I can't see it under clothes. As usual the puckering is worse on the left, but I'm also smaller on the left.

Other than that, I find that it gives a pretty natural shape and the embroidery is really nice. This is the type of bra I want to show off. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Update: I think I'm going to have to relegate this bra for my cotton blouses. I'm getting a really pointy shape on my smaller side and I think it's because I can't fill the cup all the way so the top edge is pushing down.

I can fasten this bra but it feels a tad too tight. Perhaps because it is black this is the case. I have it in lighter colours in the same size but have no issue fastening them. It's a really elegant bra but I have to use an extender for it to be comfortable. The band runs a little small.

What a pretty bra! I have this in Teal/Gold and pictures don't really do it justice! The whole bra is made of sheer mesh with gold details and ribbons! I got this in 30E as it was on sale and I was wondering if 30E would feel more comfortable than 28F. I guess 28F would be a better fit for me as the band is slightly loose. It doesn't feel looser than a Freya 28 band though!

The centre gore digs in slightly, even more than my 28F Curvy Kate Emily (CK5001) that felt quite comfortable even with a tighter band. I have bent the ... wires and now they conform to my shape and doesn't hurt.

The ribbons at the top of the cups also seem to dig in a little giving a slight quad boob even though there was some space at the tops of the cups. Going down a cup size meant the wires were sitting on my breast tissue and I got quadboobs.

I would keep this bra though. Despite some minor issues, it's still not a bad fit.

Note: Fit is set for when bra is hooked on tightest setting and with 'altered' underwires.

This is a great bra and currently my best fitting bra. It is comfortable but still incredibly gorgeous - the photos of it online really don't do it justice in my opinion! The colours and embroidery detail are really lovely without compromising the fit and comfort of the bra. In terms of size, I wear a 28FF in the Freya Deco which might work as a good comparison for a lot of people if you are trying to work out what size to get, though the Deco does gape on me a little (however I think this is more to do with my full on bottom breasts/small ribcage/narrow ... shoulders than the actual cups being too small). The band of the Angel bra is quite stretchy, but as it is wide and has three sets of hooks I find that it stays in place well even on my small bony ribcage. The shape created by the bra is quite good. I have to be careful about what clothes I wear it under as the bows on the straps (though very cute!) do show under strappy tops and the patterns can show under fitted tops, though it's not too bad. All in all, I highly recommend this bra. It is comfortable, well made, beautiful and supportive. Oh and for sizing reference, I measure 26 inches around my ribcage and 35 inches around my bust, and my breasts are quite wide set and full on bottom.

I can't compare this to any other brands, because Curvy Kate is the only one that I've ever had any success with. For me, it fits about the same as every other CK non-padded - too wide-set and the underwire is too long, but it's easy to make a few adjustments. Once I've curved the wires and all but eliminated the space between the cups, it is very comfortable.
