I’ve got some very mixed feelings about this bra. It was bought from lcl0706 and we thought that it had a chance of fitting because it closed in quickly, making it small for a 30FF, and since I tend to be in 30Fs mostly, a small fitting 30FF had a chance. This bra mostly fits, but lacks in a few areas, but it’s so pretty and I love the purple and sheer black combination.
My shape is average to low set, narrow and shortish roots (or taller roots with deflated tissue making them functionally short still), center full and relatively close set, even to full ...on bottom, with soft and malleable pendulous tissue. I need projection at the wire but only average projection at the apex. My pendulous soft tissue is sometimes deceptive.
Back to the fit. The band is snug but not as tight as my Ellace in 30E. It’s a 3 hook whatsamadoosit. And I actually did it up right on the first try! I kinda like the support of the extra hooks but it feel like it’s an industrial band now! The wires, which don’t seem to be different from the Ellace in 30E when I lay them on top of each other or measure them, but when I put it on and secure it, are quite a bit wider than my breast tissue, and not a tiny amount, but like a finger width or more. Some of my pics illustrate this. I also feel like the side wings and edge of the cup are up in my armpit so unless my arms are in a neutral or reverse position, I get cutting in. The cups are also too big, but because of the way it closes off, I’m not sure if I can size down or not (they almost fit). I actually think I might. It’s more obviously larger on my small side, as the cup does rest nicely over my larger side, especially if I am leaning forward/over, but I can get fingers under both cups easily. And I’m not filling it up a lot more before my period, either, so it’s not really a period bra. But I get great depth at the wire and it gives me a nice supported shape, and I love the peekaboo with certain tops.
So at this point, I do like it, but of all of my new bras, it is not the best fit on me. I’m not sure if I am going to keep or if I’m going to re-list it.
I never write bra reviews, but this one is so amazing, I had to. Curvy Kate definitely changed their fit for the better. It's even better than the redesigned bras from the last season (Portia and Princess). The wires are U shaped, which suits me wonderfully. It keeps my boobs up front and lifted. No upside down 7 with this bra. It's so pretty and sheer in every size. The support is better than non sheer, which is amazing. My usual size is 38G, but I got it in 36GG so the band won't stretch out too fast.
I found this bra on Zulily and decided to try it after hearing about how narrow and projected it is. I personally don't agree with either of those statements.
I find the wires to be way too wide (almost an inch and a half wider than my Ewa Michalak SM bras). It is also shallow enough at the bottom that the cup visibly collapses and has empty space. I love the look of the bra, and its much prettier than I expected. I'm a bit dissapointed with the fit though.
This bra is super pretty with lots of details. The lilac trim goes all the way around the band, which is a nice touch. The mesh feels very soft and high quality and I love the materials, although I found a few loose strings in this bra which concerns me a little bit. However, I checked, and there are no rips or anything because of this. It is SUPER sheer, except right behind the underwire on both sides where there is a soft satiny material! I think the bra on its own is very attractive, but if your breasts point outwards like mine, this bra will really accentuate ...that (and it shows through the bra bigtime). The fit is definitely improved from previous Curvy Kate bras. Much more projection and uplift with a narrower underwire, and I find the band and materials higher quality and more comfortable. The cup is a little small compared to other brands that I wear (mostly Cleo) and you may want to go up a cup size, but the band is true to size. It seems like it might cut in on top if you are FOT - I'm pretty centered and it's pretty close. Overall, very nice, love the new direction Curvy Kate is going in! Read more 104 more words
This current menstrual cycle had me very grumpy, tender, bloated, and not fitting into any of my bras. Really only my new Wellfitting and some bralettes have been comfy enough to wear every day. On a whim I ordered this bra a cup size up from my usual Curvy Kate in 40HH to see if it could solve my quadding of this half of the month. The fit is really, really good. Like to the point where I'm wondering if I should have been wearing 40J in Curvy Kate this whole time, or if my breasts are just that much bigger right now. The ...worst part is, the bra is exactly like my 36JJ - Curvy Kate » Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101) except the band fits and the cup is deeper. So sizing down in the band to get a more short root friendly bra was a waste.
I realize now I didn't review either the 36JJ I owned not the 38J - Curvy Kate » Bardot Balcony Bra (SG3101) (yes I bought it twice before already, what is wrong with me?). The shape is nice, a little closed on top but open enough for my FOT breasts to fit without quadding. There is lots of center room too. The wires are an inch narrower than my 42H - Sculptresse » Kitty Full Cup (8045), a sister size smaller than this bra, but this bra has a little more depth at the wires. I don't see much wrinkling either, so the immediate projection is fantastic. There's wrinkling on top of my small side but a smooth line on my large side. The gore is a bit tall, but soft tacks. The straps are a smidge wide but soft, silky, and not too stretchy.
This size does support and cradle my breasts more comfortably and securely than other sizes, and even though I'm very sensitive right now I think it would be ok to wear it all day. I think if I were full on bottom the smaller cup size would be fine but my FOT tissue needs a lot of room at top to avoid quadding.
This colorway is gorgeous but I prefer the black and red. When the price drops more on this I might still pick it up. I have a lot of burgundy clothing. Instead I'm buying it for cheaper on eBay in the black and red colorway, which my husband also adores. He likes me best in the smaller size though https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Read more 335 more words
Bardot is great for a projected, FOB, short rooted shape. If anything, I could have used a little more projection at the wire and a little less at the apex, but that's a minor quibble. The band runs a smidge tight, not quite as tight as I'd prefer, but such is life.
The wires are a smidge wider than I'd prefer, but I actually don't mind at all because they're so flexible. It makes it a million times more comfortable. Looking at you, Panache!
Aesthetically, this bra is even nicer in real life than in the pictures. I'm especially a fan of the unusual double bows at the gore and straps. This is the first (non-Polish) bra I've owned in multiple colorways, which is pretty awesome.e
I saw this beauty as a sleepwear quite long time ago and thought - Thats really nice looking bra! but then i remembered that Ive tried soft CK very long tme ago and decided that probably it will give me crappy look so I passed. Recently, ive noticed that there are more and more positive reviews about CK and I decided to give a go a couple of older styles as my shape changed for better since im wearing better bras. Ive got this one in 30e and im really happy! I love the colours - berry and copper - looks mature and sexy The band is 30, but feels ...nice and snug without extender - although its made of 1 layer of mesh so probably it will stretch easier than other bras. Strap placement - i give it 4.5/5 as its nearly perfect! and straps are fully adjustable The shape of cups is almost as round as my Cleos, its see through and the vertical seams are on my nipples so they shouldn't show up under thin shirt. Wires are ok, could be little more narrow, but also theyre much shorter than the channells so im getting little empty space and wrinkling on my smaller breast but overall it feels okay. This is a very sexy bra. The top of the cup is fairly closed off, almost too much so for my even fullness boobs. So if you're FOT, this is not the bra for you. It cuts in just a bit on my bigger side while simultaneously wrinkling on my smaller side. It's not a perfect fit, but these minor issues are unnoticeable under a loose tee shirt, and I wouldn't wear this bra under a tight tee shirt due to the lace and seams. I don't think going up to a 30G would solve the problem, as I'm almost certain it would ...be too deep for me.
I love the 3 hook closure and love Curvy Kate for consistently offering that in my size range, along with always offering the little finishing details that make a bra unique. The bows, oh the bows! So amazing without being overdone. The purple trim all the way around to the back! The black satin contrast on the cups and band! Yes! I'd say the band runs tight for CK, it only stretches to 29" and is wearable on the loosest hooks for me, fastenable on the middle hooks. I was worried about this since the bra was not offered online in my usual 28G. I tried the 30FF because it's really cheap on Amazon right now lol.
Being my first foray into CK bras, I'd say, based on other CK reviews, this is a very narrow and projected cup for them. I measured 5.4" wide and 10" deep. The bottom of the cup is excellent, the wires nestle right into my IMF and it has enough immediate projection for me. I don't need to readjust when I bend forward, it holds the girls in there.
This is my first unlined bra in many many years and the fabric is... meh. It could be softer, and may get softer after a washing. I will have to wear it for a day before I can tell whether my skin will get along with it. I'm impressed by the amount of lift and overall roundness I got from it. I also love the very narrow center gore - it's higher than I usually go for but I can get away with it because it's so narrow. Again, will have to see over the course of the day if it starts to dig. If I decide to return it, I don't want to wear it too much. I might keep it just for sexytimes, because it's a very sexy, very sheer black bra.
This will be a fantastic bra for many. It is just screaming for narrow to average width, projected, FOB shapes. I highly recommend it. Read more 364 more words
I've had CK Bardot recommended as possibly working for me, and I found it on sale on amazon, so I decided to give it a try.
For the record, I have projected, full-on-bottom breasts with narrow and very short roots.
From what I could gather, the band on this bra is supposed to run stretchy, so I decided to sister-size down from my usual UK size, to 34J instead of 36HH. The band is not remotely as loose as I expected, and so I needed an extender to even be able to try it on - it runs about halfway between a 34 and 36. So if you're ...in-between band sizes, it might work for you there!
The cups just fit me...really weirdly. They're clearly too large, and the measurements I took make it seem that it simply runs large in the cup. Despite this, the gore doesn't quite tack right, and I know for a fact that it's not a case of the band being too loose for it to tack. The wires are a bit wide, but not hugely so.
I do have a lot of wrinkling at the bottom of the cup, and no matter how much I scooped and swooped and tried to readjust the cups it would wrinkle at the bottom. As far as the top of the cup goes, it's most obvious near the gore that the cups aren't right; there's a lot of loose fabric there. Overall I feel the bra really accentuates my shortness and just makes me look really pointy, which is at least somewhat because the cups are the wrong size.
The bra reminds me of my 36HH - Panache » Jasmine (6951) a lot, but the top isn't stretch lace. The bra itself is a very sheer material and I like the red accents on it - it's simple and subtle. I'd like to try it again in another size (maybe 36H would work better?) but amazon appears to be out of stock on it. Oh well. Read more 231 more words
