Noob originally called my attention to this bra with her review( http://www.bratabase.com/browse/curvy-kate/tempt-me-plunge-bra-sg4001/) And once I saw it I had to have it! I went full on MY PRECIOUS! And I scoured the inter webs. As the style is discontinued, I thought it would take some digging, but I found a secondhand one on eBay within 15 minutes. My breast shape is wide, tall full on bottom and sides and slightly shallow on top, and this seems to work quite well with it. I originally was going to order a 30E, but bratabase steered me toward the 30F. I'm not sure if curvy kate runs small, but the recommendation seemed to be about right. Any who, the first thing I noticed is how soft this bra is. The cups are really comfortable, and the straps are a good thickness. Mine was a little worn, and as a result, I snapped one of the top buttons off. I don't think that is standard though. All in all one of my more comfortable bras.
This bra has been discontinued many years ago, so this review is probably irrelevant. If you are ever able to get your hands on the Raspberry and Charcoal colorway, this is the one I am reviewing today. I've owned all of the Curvy Kate Tempt Me's in various colours and sizes, and this is the only one that is true to size (in this size range). Please note I did move the straps in on mine, and the band is altered which is reflected in the measurements.
The thing I loved the most about Tempt me is the soft fabric of the cups. It ...is very comfortable when it fits correctly, or almost correctly. I fell in love with the contrasting colours of the fabric and the lace. Today, I only own this one and the Black and Blue one in 28F since these two fit me the best.
Curvy Kate has replaced this bra with the Temptress (which is unfortunately now also discontinued, but may be easier to get). Tempt me fits me better due to the shallow cups. I've tried Temptress in 30E in the past, and it was a total disaster (review here: http://bra.pe/XOga/)
This was a suprise hit for me. I ordered this on the basis of a recommendation here on Bratabase. I was very skeptical that this would work for me as I tend to not get on well with plunges and totally expected I would end up sending it back.
When I first tried it on I felt quite exposed and wondered if I should have ordered the next cupsize up - I did already go up a cup more than I would normally wear as I the general consensus seemed to be that this runs small in the cup. However I've twisted, turned and contorted and cannot see any ...spillover anywhere outside the cup even in extreme positions so I think the problem is just that I am not used to wearing a bra that is so open in the center of my chest - I tend to stick with balconettes that come up higher in the middle. I actually prefer the wires sitting lower at the center gore as the ones that come up a little higher always poke my breast on the larger side (I have very little space between them). While this is usually not painful I would prefer for it not to happen.
I'm not really big on the cleavage look but this gives a nice amount of cleavage without looking obscene. The band on this feels a bit tighter than the thrill me I already own (which I had to fasten on the tightest hook from day one) so I expect it should wear better long term. The icing on the cake is that this bra is *really* comfy. I can see this becoming a favourite and will probably occupy space in my underwear drawer for a long time to come. Definitely a keeper!
ETA: Having now worn the bra for a whole day I am now seeing that crease in the base of the cup that others have mentioned, however it is only happening on one side (the bigger one). So I think this is probably what others have suggested, orange in a glass caused by the cup being too shallow in the bottom. My boobs are relatively firm so the fact that this isn't happening on the smaller side seems to confirm the orange in a glass theory. It's still a keeper - the crease wasn't visible under my work uniform and this bra is way too comfy to give up. Read more 298 more words
I have firm, close set boobs and the cleavage this bra gives me is awesome! Ever since I outgrew the Deco range, I've been craving a bra to give me cleavage and this one does it! It isn't a perfect fit- the cups cut in JUST slightly, but it's not noticeable in clothing at all. I'd read that the band was very stretchy, but I found it to be smaller than Freya's 28 bands, although probably a little looser than Curvy Kate's other 28's.
Looks wise, this bra is GORGEOUS and now I want to buy the gold set! The colors are just fabulous and I love how ...much detail is in this bra. Also, praise the lord, it's PADDED! Since moving up the cups to more HH and J's, I'd begun to give up on finding padded and molded bras, but this one just tickles me pink!
My one warning is that if you don't do well with plunges, this might not be for you. It is a fine bra for me, with firm breasts, for day to day wear, but someone with softer boobs would definitely experience some spillage.
If you choose to get the shorts/thong, I found that it ran tight even for Curvy Kate. I took a 10 in the Emily briefs, but the 14 in this thong was quite tight- I really need a 16 in these. Read more 122 more words
I like this bra, which is why I've bought it in the wrong size (twice in fact, measurements of the other incorrect size to be entered soon!). The 28GG certainly gives the illusion of fitting from the front, as I appear to fill the cups with no overspill. However, the cups actually extend a few centimetres further around the sides than my breast tissue does. This illusion of a good fit is caused by the bra being a moulded, padded style, which I always find covers up a bad fit pretty well. Like the whole Showgirl range, the band is stretchier than standard Curvy Kate bras and ideally ...I'd like a 26 band as I find a tight fit more comfortable.
I find this bra very comfortable to wear but sadly it does not create a good shape for me. I do not have any cleavage with this bra, but I usually do with most plunge styles. It flattens me out as I find the cups quite shallow and the cups come up high on the chest.
Even though I appear to be incompatible in size and shape with this bra, I will continue to wear it as it is so comfortable and pretty. For me the 28G is a better fit (I usually wear a 28FF), although still causes the same shape issues Read more 114 more words
November 2015 Update: When I swoop and scoop, I get quadboob. Band is still too large and breasts settle back to my armpits and wires sit on breast tissue. For some reason the seam of the bra causes the apex of the bra to be more east-west than my own already-cockeyed breasts, and they point down too, so creates a terrible silhouette under clothing. I've attached a picture of me pointing at my apex next to the point of the seam so you can see how off it is. I will be so sad to see this go because the charcoal and magenta coloring is the most stunning ...I've ever seen. But, alas, the bra is all wrong and the underwear is too small anyway. ((
**UPDATE** Now that my breasts are bigger, they definitely fill the cup, but the band is still to large and with the combo of the wires being too narrow, it sits on my breast tissue on the side, and are too low so my breasts want to STILL slip out the side. Also, now the cups point awkwardly down and away, so even though I get sexy moundage at the top of the cups, under shirts, the apexes are seriously east-westing. I just don't think this will ever work.
Original 2014 Review: This is a brand new bra purchased from the UK eBay site. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous. The Charcoal/Raspberry combo is stunning. I purchased the matching short with suspenders, and they are mighty fine! This set is beautiful and I just HAD to have it no matter what...which is why the bra doesn't fit perfectly.
I bought this bra knowing that I would have to alter the band tighter. But the cup volume is really good. (Depth from armpit underwire across apex to edge of cup is 6.75, but from wire to wire it's about 7.75. Entering the depth was a bit confusing since the wires on this bra plunge so far in the middle.) When I swoop-and-scoop and have my fiance hold the band tighter, I fill the cups all the way. I don't get any cleavage, but that's because I have wide-set, shallow breasts and there are no push-up pads in this bra. Going down in the cup would probably cut in. If I'm not standing up perfectly straight, or I move my arms forward, the straps are so wide in my armpits that the cups buckle and large gaps form over my breasts. (Can see in images provided) The color is stunning though. Have I mentioned yet how much I love the colors?
The wires don't go very high under the arms, so that may be a problem, but hopefully after altering the band the wires and cups will fit tighter against my chest and no armpit spillage will happen. The width of the wires is great though.
While the band doesn't ride up yet (I'd say it has medium firm-ness), I still have to have it on the tightest hook with the straps pretty tight for the cups to press against my chest with no gaping. I hope to make the center gore a bit narrower and the band several inches shorter.
Pros: - Super plunge so it would be great under low necklines - Despite plunge, wires luckily do not dig in. - BEAUTIFUL colors and the details in the bows and decorative buttons add a great touch - Staps are extremely adjustable - Cup volume is good - wide and shallow, which is what I need - Sturdy band, so when altered it shouldn't be too stretchy - The fabric is really extremely soft on the inside of the cups, and the band material is very slippery and soft. Satin is very smooth and soft. Very comfortable fabrics all around.
Cons: - Band is too loose - Details will show under thin shirts - Dart in lace causes a slight pucker and point at the bust apex; could look like east-westing nipples worn under shirts that aren't tight/thick enough to flatten the points down. - Cups gap when arms press against body or face forward.
I wish I could have this in my true size, 28E, but my options are limited money-wise so hopefully altering will work out! I will add updates once altered.
This is probably at least 2 sizes too small, but the cup edge doesn't cut in. I found it quite comfortable until I put on a bit of weight recently and now it's a bit tight in the band. Bizarrely I also own this in a 32FF which fits about the same. One size up only sits further back under my armpits and higher on my breast. Cup is quite shallow, I think I suffer from 'orange-in-a-glass' syndrome in this bra (and many others), I cannot fill the bottom and the bra sort of flops over at the empty bit.
This is my favorite bra I own currently. It's incredibly comfortable, the shape is nice, and since it's a plunge I have no issues with the gore. The only issue I have is the straps get irritating where they hit (basically in my armpit) but it's not enough to stop wearing it.
