Love this bra! It's soft & molded which give my "not so firm/perky" girls a great shape. ITS COMFY!!! the gore doesn't dig in my sternum, the wires capture my tissue without digging into my armpits, and it holds the "scoop and swoop" pretty well! The band is super comfy on loosest setting (I had been wearing 34&36 bands & this is a 30 so I'm use to it being Super loose.) even if it's not a 100% perfect fit technically with sizing, it is comfy & that's what I personally care about. I LOVE THIS BRA!
Another good fit for me from Cleo. I like the shape this gives me, but the ribbon the the top of the cup doesn't have the same give as the rest of the material. The lace below the ribbon kind of balloons up a bit because of this. It's not a big deal though. Very comfy and uplifted. Not the prettiest pattern, but I will probably wear this a lot any way.
Very cute bra that fits great. I love the little hearts and the centre bow. The top lace is completely flat against my breast. The bottom portion is semi-sheer and the top is sheer. I also own the matching brief in size small. My hope is to keep collecting full sets and I'm looking forward to Cleo's autumn/winter 2015 designs and colours.
Aww! This is such a pretty bra. I wish I could just parade around in it for everyone to see. I think I'm getting pretty good at estimating how bras will fit based on measurements because this one is a pretty good fit. I have a bit of extra fabric in the top lace section, but not extremely. Definitely feel pushed up and forward in this one. The color and print is very nice and I like the embroidery on the lace. After wearing it for a day I noticed something interesting. This bra gives me very minimal red marks, which is new to me. My other bras always leave red marks that take a little while to go away. The marks this one gives me are very faint and I believe this wire sits directly on my IMF. Love this bra.
I bought this bra in a 34D and altered the band down to a 30E. What can I say ... the bra is just amazing. It gives a perfect shape (rounded and slightly uplifted), it's an awesome halfcup shape - not too high-coverage, so it's great for summer and tank tops. The padding is thin and soft, which makes it super comfortable to wear. The turquoise color is pretty cute too.
can we see pics? i'm curious about the alterations!
Hey there :) I don't have any before-pics, but the alterations I made are pretty simple. I just altered the band using this awesome how-to by Hagane: http://www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/1560/ Instead of sewing by hand I used a sewing machine. That's it. :)
I might consider adding some pictures later ;)
Oh i see! I always wondered how that was done. I'm too scared I'd screw it up with my shaky hands. ><
My experiences with the Cleo Lucy are mixed. The fit of the cups differs notably between colors! So one Lucy may fit you perfectly in a certain color, but even the same size of a different color won't.
I am balanced (neither FoT nor FoB), somewhere between shallow and projected, and have wide roots.
Here's my review for neon/white:
The bra didn't fit me. The top of the cup was cutting in and the cup was not filled out at the same time. This means that the bra cannot accomodate upper fulness, and it requires much projection. It's the wrong shape for me, giving me like an "orange-in-a-glass" effect due to the wrong cut.
Also, the color is called "neon/white" but it's not bright white, but a cream/ivory color shade.
I tried my usual cleo size, and this was slightly too big. The cups were gaping near the center gore. This might be because a) the cups have too much overall projection that I cannot fill, or b) the cups are too big. I'm not completely sure whether it's a size or shape issue, since I didn't try the 30DD for comparison.
Some observations: (1) The band is on the snugger side of the Cleos. It's sturdier than in the Cleo Juna (6461) and similar to the unpadded Cleos (Marcie, Lucy, etc.).
(2) The cups offer a decent amount of projection and wide wires. They run large-ish.
(3) The cups have one vertical ...seam in the middle (halfcup-style). But,
(5) The cups are neither too closed nor very open - just somewhere inbetween.
(6) The material is stiff, making the bra a little more pointy from the top. It looked good under a T-shirt, even though it didn't fit quite right. The shape is very rounded. Stiffness may disappear with wash and wear. I cannot test this since I'm not keeping the bra. Read more 93 more words
I absolutely adore this bra, but sadly I seem to be between sizes in terms of cup depth. The 30DD is definitely too small for me - quadboob and too low under the armpit (I tried the Melissa in a 30DD and the Bella is definitely tighter in the cup). The 30E fits like a dream in terms of wire width and wing height, but it's too deep for my shallow boobs - the mesh top section gapes a lot, especially towards the centre of the cups. I also tried the 32DD, and whilst it's definitely shallower and therefore less gapey in the cup, I can fasten ...the band on the tightest hook with comfort, and the band rides up if I bend forward. The band is more generous than models like Melissa - Alexa would be a better example (in fact, the 30E Bella fits me like the 30DD Alexa - which I didn't keep).
I think anyone with shallow boobs is going to find this bra gapes in the top section. However, the shape is so good otherwise (think high and front like Melissa) and the print so divine, that I'm going to keep it.
Edit: a couple of months and some tissue migration later, and this fits perfectly. Hurrah!
*Size*: runs a size small I would recommend getting a size up in band in this style. I'm a generic 28E and, after looking at the measurements, I got a 30E offline. Luckily, my intuition was correct and it fits. The darcy runs about a size too small in the cup and band.
*Fit*: perfect for my wide-rooted, pointy boobs This bra fits my wide-rooted, pointy boobs very well, best out of all the ones I have tried so far. After scooping and swooping, it keeps all my boob in the cups without any shifting, it doesn't gape or quadboob at the top, and it is fill up all the ...way to the underwires. My boobs have a little distance between them in the middle, so the gore tacks easily and doesn't cut into my breasts, and it doesn't stab me in the sternum either! I have to put the band on the smallest hook since I'm normally a 28 and this is kind of a stretchy bra, but it runs very small so it's actually perfect. Doesn't migrate up my back. Since it's a balconette it tends to want to cut into my peck-boob fat on the sides, but I'm not holding that against it since it's my fault I bought another balconette knowing that I have very narrow shoulders.
*Comfort*: nice daily bra Very comfortable bra. The fabric is smooth, the straps are wide and sturdy, and the lace actually doesn't itch. The lining on the inside of the cups is soft and the inside seem is covered with satin so it doesn't itch. My only issue is one that I have with every padded bra.....they're so damn hot! Ugh! If its warm out I end up sweating in between and on the sides of my boobs. Ah well, otherwise its very comfortable. However, if you have a problem with gores stabbing you I would suggest bending the very top of the middle underwires a bit. If I sit up straight or stand up it isn't a problem, but if I slouch (hem hem whoops) it kinda hurts, so I bent them ever so slightly and it feels much better to sit lazily now.
*Appearance*: cute! Very pretty. I got the black and red and white one, which has a heart and dot pattern all around, red lace along the tops of the cup, a black bow in the middle, and black straps and lining. I think I'll chop the bow off though because I hate bows.
*Quality*: excellent This bra is very well made. All of the stitches are intact, there is lining inside the cups AND the band, the lace is evenly sewn and sits flat against the breast, the straps are sturdy, the underwire is made of strong metal, the hooks are well-anchored, and the patterned fabric sticks and stretches to the form of the bra without wrinkling. The tag doesn't even itch.
*Stretch*: The band is pretty stretchy, but not nearly as stretchy as my Cleo Bonnie. The elastic in the band seems a bit heavier duty and the patterned fabric seems to restrict some of the stretching. Again, this band runs small so don't plan on stretching the thing a lot to fit.
*Wear*: So far, don't know. Will Update.
*Final Judgement*: Awesome!! Very good bra, with the exception of some slight inaccuracies in sizing. Works great for my wide-root, pointy boobs. Would probably work even better for someone with slightly wider shoulders. Read more 464 more words
This is my first bra after properly measuring myself. Prior to this, I had been wearing 34As and was thinking about moving up in band size. After reading reddit.com/r/abrathatfits, I went to Nordstrom Rack and tried on a bunch of 30 bands. This was one of the few that didn't gape at the top when I hunched my shoulders forward. I am not used to wearing unlined bras and was surprised at how nicely this shapes and lifts me. I have generally worn padded and molded bras in the past to shape my breasts. I'm also surprised at how the 30 band feels. It is quite ...snug but not uncomfortable. I can easily fit a couple of fingers under the band while wearing it on the loosest hook.
I have this in white. The fabric is a sheer, lacy nylon. It's quite pretty and fairly comfortable, though I have a feeling it might feel itchier in hot, humid weather. I'm hoping a wash will soften it up. The lace detailing across the top is fine on me, but makes this a bad choice for anyone with breasts that are fuller on top. This bra is not good for nipple control and the seams and wires show through thin shirts, so I would only wear it under thicker tops.
My biggest problem with the Lucy is that the straps are set slightly too wide. The outer edges of the bra straps dig into a bit of armpit chub and chafe the skin there. I have to angle the bra straps in toward my neck to ensure they won't slip off my shoulders. If the straps are straight, they feel like they're about to slide off. The proportions of the bra are OK on me, but I'm on the taller side of petite. A smaller woman than me would probably not like how high the wires come up on the sides and in the gore.
I will update this review after I've laundered the bra a few times. Read more 229 more words
Like the model in coral, also the mint green one fits very well - there's a bit too much lace fabric in the upper half of the cup, but that's no problem. The band fits tight (to me it seems tighter than the same model in coral and I think I will be using an extender) and the bra gives a great shape.
The Mimi didn't fit me, unfortunately. When I'm sitting down, it fits okay. However, if I move my arms up, even just a little bit, the bra will 100% ride up on me even though the band isn't too big. The cup is seamed, but the material is stiffer which gave great support and roundness. Unfortunately it's a shape mismatch. The Mimi seems to be a bit too narrow (or is it too projected?) for me. The straps aren't fully adjustable. They are not long enough for me for some reason and the adjustment rings sit almost on my shoulders, which cause shoulder pain and red marks, if I have a heavy backpack on. The 32DD Mimi has longer and more comfortable straps but unfortunately didn't fit me either.
I only added this to the website so I could measure it and add more data, but it didn't fit my friend so I ended up returning it anyway.
The quality and design is as usual, excellent, and what I expect from the brand. I can't say for the comfort as I didn't try this on, but the other Lyzy Vibe styles I tried in my size range were not comfortable. This didn't fit my friend, who's closer to a 28D, but a 30E was all I could find.
A small update: It fit my friend in the band, it was comfortable for her, but the cups were much too big. I suspect she has more of a projected shape, but is still a 28C/D so this cup was too wide and too large for her.
Backlog from my bra fitting early this year in January...
It was not my favourite colour combination, but I'd wanted to try it for the style because it looked like a lighter and softer version of the Deco.
This 30E was borderline small at the time. The fitter said she did not like the fit on me, and mentioned something about the neckline. I dunno...I thought it looked fine. I later tried a 30F (no pics) and it was better, though still shallow and potentially would slip out of my IMF.
To be honest, I do still like this style on me, But not the colourway. I love ...the thistle and some of the other ones. I was offered a 30FF thistle recently when I grew more, but it said that the wires were 6" wide, so that's a no go. The 30F was fine though...
Anyway, none of the backlogs I'm putting up have measurements. Just pics and my memories. They've been sitting on my phone all year so I thought I would upload so I still had them, but not on my phone anymore. Read more 78 more words
If you liked this one you may want to try Panache Porcelain Grace Sweetheart Moulded Bra (7371) at some point in your journey . It's moulded yes, but it still has enough projection for me. This koko reminds me of the one I have.
I've actually got an Ardour Sweetheart in my backlog, so stay tuned!
This bra does a great job of supporting my boobs and they look great. I FOB/ Projected a bit and fill this bra pretty well. Issue is with the band, feel like it is a tad tight? Would be someone in a 28E. HOWEVER! I got an extender. And now pretty happy with the fit and no pain in my ribs.
This bra's measurements have been altered
Altered band,
Added extender after for ideal comfort
Does the gore sit flat on your sternum? If it doesn't, the force/weight can transfer to a location where the wire does sit flat. For me and my center full pair, this is under the center of each breast. And, I have flared ribs. I wonder if your center fullness may be a contributing factor, too.
Love4Pollinators It does still flat and snuggly against me sternum. I wonder if it might be the cup is not quite wide enough? I can out the bra on and be fine but if it readjust myself so I am most definitely situated in the bra then it becomes an issues, mine are not super center. Do you think that could be it?
Quick question. My ribcage is 29", this bra's band is between 25" and 27" do you think that is to small for me?
It is possible....do you have an extender you could use to experiment?
Sadly I do not, but I will go get one and test it out :)
Love4Pollinators okayyyy finally got an extender! and on the last set of hooks it feels pretty okay, no crazy rib pain and just a little tight. So back to the question at hand, does this mean I should aim for bras with larger band lengths?
Maybe ;-) ;-) Some bras have stretchy bands which should work well. And, others have less stretchy bands. It will totally depend on the bra.

Fits PERFECT! The band is not too snug and the cups are of ideal size and shape for me. Most importantly: it minimizes my unevenness. When I tried it on, I said to myself: "OMG, now I have to throw all my other bras away and get more Cleos of this size and cut!"
I believe Meg is a Lily-clone. Lily is discontinued now but you may still find it on Ebay (good luck, I can't find any 28 band Lilys anymore). I believe their replacement for this season is the Erin. Also, Tutti Rouge Nichole might be worth a look into if you can swing their shipping, although rumor has it the cups run big so maybe try a 28E.
Thx for the suggestions lcl0706 - was looking at e-bay the other day, missed a Lucy for a bargain price, thinking - oh I'll get it tomorrow... :( I like the Lily in agua/pink and probably will go for it.
This older Cleo model is beautifully detailed with gorgeous stitches on the fabric - but my first impression is that all this beautiful texture would never disappear under a shirt! It's much more textured than any of my other unlined bras. Unfortunately the fit is such a mess that I never got to evaluating how it will look under clothing.
This bra is slightly small for me, combined with a bit of a shape mismatch. Add my soft tissue to that and it turns into a disaster where each diagonal stitch is cutting into my tissue creating tiny bits of in-cup quad all over. The top seam barely cuts in, making the main problem all the tiny stitched details.
I would compare this bra possibly to Cleo Nyla, shape-wise. I think it is made for slightly more even shape and projection than bras like Marcie.
My shape: Average/narrow roots, tall roots, FOB, moderately projected, soft tissue, shallow above the apex.
How this bra fits: This bra is surprisingly a fair fit on my tall roots, it does cut in, but only minimally, and if I wear the bra with a racerback clip the cups open up just enough at the top. The wire width is good, and the wing height is perfect (I find my tall roots and soft tissue prefer a taller wing, or my breasts try to escape out the side, even when the wire width is perfect). The depth is great for me, too. The band is too big, but I ordered a band size up because I couldn't find this one in a 28F. So that fit problem is on me.
All in all, I think this is a great bra - comfortable, gives me a flattering lifted shape, but keeps me looking quite natural.
I've never had a fitting longline, and this works better than I thought it would. The seamed cups allow for a bit more projection than some.
Feels comfy and secure instead of digging in and painful. Gives me a surprisingly rounded, lifted shape instead of flattening me out!
No quadding, but there's just a little gaping at the gore wanting a bit more top-center fullness than I have. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
It just doesnt want to stay in my IMF after a bit more wear, so I am passing it on https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Cleos that fit: 30E Marcie, 30E Lily, 28F/30E Blake
Cleos that didn't fit: 30F Melissa, 28F Bella, 30E Pixie (all slightly too FoT)
I've tried Cleos that I didn't quite have enough top fullness for, but this bra is in a league of its own. I am so far from being able to fill the tops of these cups, while the listed Cleos I tried just had small gaping/were very close to fitting. So this bra needs top fullness! I also think it is a bit more shallow than Marcie and Lily. The wire width is pretty average. The band is a looser fitting one, but not as bad as some modern ones.
A lot of people call this bra ugly, but I really like some of the small details: the bow with three ribbon colors, the checkered stitching on the top part of the cup. It's fun and IMO not much worse than the usual gaudy colorful Cleo designs.
I recently tried cleo minnie (sister cut to Marcie, I believe), and it fit great. I'm more FOB, so I can't do tall cups. Just thought I'd throw in that suggestions.
Yep, I tried this one too in the same size (30E) and came SO FAR from filling out the top lace. Like, not even close. I'm even to a smidge full on bottom and I fit into the same ones you did (Marcie & Blake, both 28F due to stretchy bands). I had trouble with Izzy too, which I think might be a Melissa sister cut, but not even close to the amount of gapping I got with the Nyla.
It looks like the gore is sitting on your breast tissue! Is that uncomfortable? Generally suggests the bra is too small or the gore is too wide.
