Despite this bra being a Panache build/design (Panache straps are too wide for me), I love this bra. The lace has a wonderful liner that prevents most of the itchiness. It's very supportive and, mostly, very comfortable. There are a few spots that are a bit harsh at this point, but the bra is still new and I expect them to "break in" - mostly these spots are where the straps attach. This particular Eleanor is bright red, with a teal and yellow/gold bow, and as a result is a bit much for me (it was part of a grab bag, so I didn't select the color), but ... I would absolutely buy again in a color more to my liking.

I do think the bra is a bit "plain" for a style bra like this. The only non-red is that little bow. More integration of the offset color, or choosing a more subtle offset color and using it significantly, would help with the interest of the bra. This basic bra in fleshtone or black as a "intentionally boring, subtle bra" would be fantastic.

    Hasn't set fit

This older Cleo model is beautifully detailed with gorgeous stitches on the fabric - but my first impression is that all this beautiful texture would never disappear under a shirt! It's much more textured than any of my other unlined bras. Unfortunately the fit is such a mess that I never got to evaluating how it will look under clothing.

This bra is slightly small for me, combined with a bit of a shape mismatch. Add my soft tissue to that and it turns into a disaster where each diagonal stitch is cutting into my tissue creating tiny bits of in-cup quad all over. The top seam barely cuts in, making the main problem all the tiny stitched details.

I would compare this bra possibly to Cleo Nyla, shape-wise. I think it is made for slightly more even shape and projection than bras like Marcie.

Oh how I wanted this bra to work! It is a beautiful bra, in a bright red-orange.

Turns out this is NOT the same as the Marcie.

There was no support in the cups, they were at least one cup size too big in volume.

I won't be looking for a smaller size though. I will try the Marcie.

Very red (I'd say barely orange-hued true red) unpadded balconnette style with 3-part seamed cups. Bottom of cup (2 parts with vertical seam) is embroidered mesh lace with a grid pattern and flowers and is lined on the inside with a powernet kind of material. Top of cup (1 part from center gore to just under strap attachment) is lace mesh with circles and flowers and a bit of grid pattern in the background. Everything is red except for the center bow which is aqua-blue with yellow edges.

I may have found my current Cleo size. (Please note that my review is very specific to my body/boob proportions/shaping. I ... consider this bra is "fitting" for the moment, even though it technically does not.)

Cups, of course, are slightly too tall for my short boobs. Most others would be fine. Sw/scooping fills them out for the most part. (Just a little looseness on the top lace when my shoulders are not back in proper posture.)

Wires are a little narrow for me, but sw/scooping puts everything in. It is not uncomfortable upon trying on. Will report back if it is different after wearing a full day.

Center gore is a little too tall on me, but, again, it's my short boobs/torso/height that is the issue. May cause issues for me when worn longer.

Cups end much higher on me than on a typical bustline. I'm used to it.

Straps are fully adjustable and still slightly wide-set, but only because of my narrower frame width. They seem to stay put during a 5-minute trying on.

Aesthetically, I love this bra. The embroidery is enough to make the red not plain and I like the pop of contrast colors with the bow.

    Fits

    Updated on Jul 26, 2012:
I was about to update this about 3 days ago... Less than a month later the band has appropriately stretched out enough so an extender is completely unnecessary and I'm comfortably wearing on the first hooks. This is definitely an "everyday bra" I would say I wear on average 1-3 times per week (depending on outfits) and handwashed after 1-2 wears!

    Reviewed on Jun 25, 2012:
***Please note: For all intent and purpose this bra fits but I will keep the accurate "band is too tight" until it stretches out.

Thanks to Bratabase members I am now aware of the "George/Lizzie/Eleanor/Alexa/Sasha Family" bras which all carry a ... similar shape. I can't believe I'm a year behind on Eleanor! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> Last year I was dying over Bravissimo's Exclusive Green and Purple versions but didn't believe the bra would fit me properly because of bad luck with Cleo's Jude (http://bra.pe/ROx/) and Alex (http://bra.pe/RHr/). I weep now that I didn't try them! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

Quality: 4/5 (arrived with some loose embroidery)
    Comfort: 5/5
    Appearance: 5/5

I had nearly given up on most soft cups giving me a nicely rounded shape but thank goodness for Cleo balconette's! Wonderfully soft material in a lovely bright red shade. So far this bra is a bit tight in the 28 band but as I've experienced with my other Cleo's the 30 tends to wear out fast in just a few months and I am left feeling like I should have sized down. I plan on wearing this with a red extender (so it doesn't easily show) for a while until the bra really stretches so I can "normally" wear it on the first or second hook. This is definitely a test!!

    Why I bought a 28gg instead of a 30g:
    See 28gg Lucy (http://bra.pe/RcB/) and 30gg Sasha (http://bra.pe/RSU/).

    Measured immediately before wearing.
    Purchased mid-June 2012.

Like at all my unpadded bras, there's too much fabric on the upper inner side of the cups (benath the center). I can't fill the top of the cup and the breasts are not formed that well. The shape is not that round as it could be. If I pull at the fabric, I get a nice, round shape.
The wires sit perfectly under the breast, so a smaller cup size woudn't work.

What can I say? It fits! The band is fitted. The cups are filled with no quadboobs. The straps don't cut into my armpit. The gore does not poke or lean away from my sternum. The wires are not to tall. I like it and no modifications required.

I have the improper size, but the bra is really, really adorable! I love the color and it would be very comfortable if I had my size.

    • I have this bra and love it. The side view seems there's a little top spillage. Do you think one cup up and two band sizes down would be better? I'd keep an eye out for 30F or 30FF in Cleo balconnets.
