1) It's always a good idea to use different passwords on all sites.
But 2) There hasn't been a data breach on the site (at least that I'm aware of)
The effect of getting logged out is a side effect of how sessions are coded on the site. They aren't too persistent and when I restart the server or make changes some sessions can be lost. I never thought of it as a huge deal having to re-log in. So I never really worried about that.
About then notification from Google I'm not sure how that came to happen.
I wish they came to ask here or to me before going to another site and claiming that such thing happened without more information :(
To add another clarification. The way passwords are stored here on the site is using a "One way hash", which means that even if someone went to the database it would be impossible to obtain your passwords. So your password could not be revealed, it is impossible to know.

Apologies in advance for grammar and run-on sentences. I'm too overwhelmed by this community and it's general awesomness to write well.
This community is amazing! Everyone on here is so freaking sweet! I swear, another month and I'll lose all my teeth to cavities, lol. Just in the past few days I've seen two insanely generous acts. First, ... mu-41826">Calluna offered me an amazing discount on two gorgeous bras, just because she cared about me, a complete stranger on the internet, and sympathized with my situation. Then, acee not only offered to give me her bra since I didn't have anything that would fit her, she even offered up another bra. Just because she understood my bra struggles. I am overjoyed at this beautiful community of beautiful bra wearers and their insane generosity. This is literally the only online community that manages to have only good people. I've been on here for about a year, on and off and have yet to encounter or hear of a single creep, troll or unsavory person. And this community is literally all about boobs! In theory, this should be one of the most predatory sites ever, but instead it's one of the best communities on the internet. I don't know how you do it, Jj. Thank you so much for not only creating and maintaining this community; but for covering all shipping costs for give aways and exchanges. You're the Bill Gates of boobs!

Jj You are amazing and you have attracted a supportive base for all of us bra wearers. Thank you!
This site is really great. I agree. There are definitely the odd weirdos that surface but protective measures are in place and, at the end of the day, they don’t last long. There’s been some big drama in the past but that’s been gone for a while now. I was in your position myself once so it’s only natural that I should pay it forward with the same kindness that was extended to me in my tough times.

Haven't scheduled it yet, maybe this weekend or the next one. Depending on how brave I feel. But I finally managed to solve a bunch of problems that prevented me from upgrading the site into new software, which would allow me to continue coding on it.
That means that after this migrations, there's still a long way of software upgrades to ... go, but this one was a pretty problematic one that's finally addressed.
What this means, is that there will be a bunch of hours of the site being down while I move the database to a new server. And after that some pages may be a tad slow to load as the watermarks on the thumbnails will be updated and resized.
After that, hopefully nothing else will change *crosses fingers*.

I noticed there aren't any Agent Provocateur bras listed here and wondered if i could have any luck trying to sell mine on this site. It's a matching Janie set in what really would fit a tight banded 36C. Just curious. I'll add it to my bras now since that's a prerequisite.
Is it the higher price tag or the small sizes that make it a less popular brand here? I get it either way.
I find that Agent Provocateur is too expensive with inconsistent sizing and quality with a poor range of sizes. Hopefully, with good measurements of your bra, you should get some interest.
I’ve had luck listing bras on eBay when they don’t sell here. Limited size range could be the problem on Bratabase, but with the wider audience of eBay that shouldn’t be an issue.
It recommends bras too small or too big for some reason. I remeasured after I outgrew my CK Florence in 32D (its band was altered), and BTB recommended Florence in 30D for me.
My boobs got bigger so I remeasured today and BTB recommended Florence in 30F and 30DD to me. And it's the only CK model it recommends to me. There are other brands, ofc, I'm just familiar with the fit of this particular model and it makes me confused. How do BTB algorithms work?

I also don't understand recommendations. I wear 28 bands, and even though some are a bit too tight, most of them are fine. But bratabase recommends 30 and 32 bands :\
Edit: Well, to be fair, I went and checked the ribcage measurements of people who wore 28 bands, and they are all smaller than me. So, apparently I'm the outlier.
Welp, I think I'm the adult in charge of answering this. This may get a bit long.
To be honest, it is very hard even for me to predict what the algorithm will throw out. One critical difference is that unlike everything else online, this algorithm doesn't obtain the results from an arithmetic formula. This will match ranges of your measurements to the ranges of all the other measurements of what's on the database. So it has the fatal flaw of learning from what people enter here.
The way that the final result is obtained is by aggregating together the results of a bunch of "channels", each channel will implement a different algorithm on different set of measurements and find its own results. Then we put all these results together each with a confidence value and sort the first batch.
There are also what I call "anti channels" which are results that should be excluded from the final recommendations, and here is where there may be need to improvement based on what you describe. The antichannels work similarly, there's a few of them, each with different algorithm and get aggregated with a confidence level.
Here's a quick overview of the channels:
https://www.bratabase.com/help/recommendations/
There are a couple of other corrective charts where the results get contrasted with, some "global measurements per size" matrices that get updated with all the measurements as well.
Something very backwards about this approach that's been bugging me the last couple of years is that, not all channels are always enabled. Each gets activated only if the user has provided enough data for this channel's algorithm to work (must have set fit on one bra, or must have indicated that at least one bra doesn't fit, must have entered such and such measurements on at least one bra and so on). So when more data is added, more channels are enabled, this means that the final confidence level is divided by a bigger denominator (number of active channels) making the cut thresholds much more sensible. As if there are less channels enabled, the thresholds are bigger and you may get even more results. So adding more data could pay off by giving less results (because it can be more accurate). It is a similar story to when less people vote and the bad candidates get stronger results.
Overall, I think the general approach is very worth it, but a bunch of things need to be tuned and there are a few dozen of knobs in there, and some more to be added, for example band comfort and what each may accept as tight or loose.
When you look at your results page, hovering on each result will show a small flap indicating the confidence level from which channel got it to be included, this is a hint if you think something is wrong, it is possible to use this to investigate a bit further, usually the biggest offender for false positives is "Based on profile measurements", this means that someone else with similar measurements indicates the bra fits. And when only one person said this, the signal gets confused with being stronger. Adding a minimum of input to normalize the signal ends up excluding too much of the database since we'd need to have at least that many minimun of users that reported that a particular bra model and size fit, and it is only a handful of such combination that have a high enough number of entries, which kills the discovery factor.
Speaking of discovery, sometimes I feel that people would be much more satisfied if the results included less information and just do like every other calculator out there and only tell you "30F" and don't try to indicate which specific models. I think that this is the biggest cause of this engine having such bad fame, it tries more and gets judged differently, saying "30F" it claimed so little that it could not be judged if any bra in 30F doesn't fit. But trying to be more accurate it is much more falsifiable/verifiable.
Another aspect of this more precise judgement ability, is that for many users with good data, the results will not be surprising, so when things go well, they are not worthy of raising any eyebrows, but when you suddenly get a 32A in the list, then the full results get judged because of the bad sheep. The expectations get much higher and errors are much less forgiven.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk :)
Thanks for adding your data to the site :)

I want to add a new Victoria's Secret bra (Body by Victoria Wireless).... there is a model/section on Bratabase for this bra, but it says Discontinued for some reason. Should I add a new model or put it in the discontinued one? I hope that makes sense lol. Thanks!!

From what I understand, you add it anyway. Discontinued or not.
I THINK you should be able to add it as a discontinued bra if it is listed there as the same model name and number. Check the tag for the model number.
Jj can you confirm?

I don't understand how I have NO recommendations. I'm super disappointed.

Did you recently update your measurements? Do you have any bras that currently fit?
I'm going to have a look at this. It's unusual that they're totally empty. At least find an explanation on why they're empty.
Where does one find the model number for Comexim bras? I’ve recently purchased some of their newer models that don’t yet have Bratabase entries, but adding them requires their ‘code’: a model number which I don’t see anywhere on Comexim’s website. For the existing models on the Bratabase it seems like the code/model number for Comexim usually has a few digits or begins with an AW prefix; where have people been finding those?

I had someone msg me and ask if it's OK to post bras for sale in multiple places. And yes it is totally fine, nobody owns the Internet to forbid you not to.
But I want to show some benefits of listing on Bratabase:
https://www.bratabase.com/my/listings/export/text/
If you go to that link, you can get an automatic piece of text with ... all your listings and pictures ready to share elsewhere, just copy and paste. This way you don't need to reupload elsewhere.
And the side benefit is that you may show Bratabase to other people, so when they come they may start adding their data and in an ideal world you can do the bra transfer over here. With your Bratabase listing you can keep track of all your sales/swaps.

I was thinking... Is there any point in adding reviews and measurments for discontinued bras? I have two, but they don't seem to be popular. One of them is Pour Moi Passion and another one is Asos Swim (I can't even find the exact model on Bratabase).
Yes, because even when the manufacturer doesn't make them they can still be around in the market (eBay, stock in many stores physical and online, Bratabase listings, selling your very own bra to someone else).
Another case could be a relaunch with a new model name, but it's really the same cut bra, if we link it here we can benefit from older data.
Also works as a standard measurement for brand/size data. So we can have info of what Asos' bras in 32E are in general.
If there are cases to be argue against useless data is for brands that make products with irreproducible codes/models. Where it is impossible to buy the same product twice because you cannot run into it again ever. Some brands have a horrible product naming/coding scheme that makes it impossible to tell someone exactly which bra you have, then that data cannot really be aggregated with another bra. There are very few brands that do this.
Also, this site grows as a database, there is lot of historic data and bra references that all other bra stores and sites have removed from their sites. So we are the last bastion with such information. All other sites will remove links to products once they aren't on sale and don't give them profit, but we hold long lived extensive data.
About your Asos bra, you could just add it by creating the new model with the tag number of adding it as unknown even. At some point we may come and look at your pics and find the right model and fix your entry. This happens a LOT very often thanks to the uploaded pics, it's a common case with Asos with lots of rotating models.
Yes it does. For all the reasons above. Discontinued models continue to circulate and any information is valuable.
I’ve been calculated as a best fit of 26G (US) or 26F(UK). I put US first since I am in the US. I am looking for size 26 bands as I have never owned one before and will likely have some trial and error before I am confident enough to order straight from the Polish brands. I have been recommended that a brand like Comexim may fit closer to a 55HH or 60H for my size.

Hey! I'm a 26FF, so I hope I can give some helpful advice and recommendations. First of all, there aren't any brands that make a US 26G, so just use 26F or 55HH when searching for bras. Secondly, there aren't many brands out there that make 26 bands, so it may be easier for you to nail down your size in the first place by ordering your sister size of 28E. Cleo by Panache, Freya, Curvy Kate, and a handful of other brands carry bras in 28E, and those brands are available on Amazon, Bare Necessities, HerRoom, Figleaves, and a bunch of other sites. I would try to find bras that are eligible for free shipping and free returns while you're figuring things out in the beginning. There are also a few bras in 28E/55HH for sale here.
Let me know if you need any more help! I'm here for you!
sherrach898 hi thank you so much!! I do have a couple other brands in size 28 and 30 bands, I have been really struggling to determine my shape and fit and all that. Would it be ok if I private msg you? Is there a way to do that on here? I would really love to pick your brain :)

Ewa Michalak! I've never tried an Ewa Michalak but I'm ready! My breasts are FOT, projected and quite pendulous. I have a Cleo Marcie in 34G that is slightly too large since I lost weight but is generally fitting wonderfully. Preferably I'm looking for a deep plunge, but also a balconette half cup, lined/unlined/whatever would be ok Thanks for input on where to start.

Most find that the BM is the easiest to start with because the stretch lace top is very flexible. PL is the plunge. Most of us need to go up a size in the padded bras compared to the unpadded. Sometimes her bands run a size small but its hard to predict - just have an extender handy.
I wouldn't recommend her plunges if you have soft tissue, you might fall out of it. The BM and SF are stretch lace on top and a great place to start.

Hi! I really really like Cleo Breeze Longline Padded Balconnet (9025), it fits my shape so well...! But I lost weight and mine doesn’t fit anymore, and they don’t seem to sell them anywhere anymore. Ebay doesn’t have my size (34ff-ish). I know Minnie padded longline is the same cut but I can’t seem to find her for sale either. So - any suggestions for anything similar in longline? Thanks!

Cleo Spencer is very similar!
Also I have a Cleo Breeze 34FF to sell if you're interested?

Hey Jj
I've been wondering if something is up with the reference sizes calcuations? I have noticed a couple weeks back that my reference size on my public profile was showing 34:11 although all of my fitting bras are 32:8 or 32:9, sometimes 34:7 or 8 depending on brand. ... Today when I looked at my public profile, I see my reference size is shown as 36:11.
When I go to recommendations, the reference sizes seem to be more in order - 32FF -32G-34FF-34G, etc. which seem spot on.
I'm curious why my reference size on the profile seems off and keeps getting bigger.

The reference size is a very very basic average of the bands and the cups (independently and then put together) of the bras you've added. It does not contain any special sauce to calculate that. It's purpose is to allow the size and you to identify yourself as a reference size.
The site dumbly obtains one based on bra info but you can set it yourself here https://www.bratabase.com/profile/update/ - The idea is that this is the size you "identify as".
The recommendations use data from a bunch of places and relate it with all the other users' data on the site to obtain a set of recommendations you should get on each brand and on each model. The final "32FF-34G" range suggestions you see is a summary of the sizes you've been recommended. This computation is much more complex and takes a few seconds to obtain on demand only after you've entered breast measurements. The summary was only added because users ached to be displayed a **bra size** without any relationship to a particular brand or model as standard calculators do (something that cannot be purchased). But the real recommendations is the list of models in each particular size that you get suggested.
Thanks for the explanation. I get that people "just want to know their size" :)
Now I'm wondering if I've made some measuring typos if its based on the bras that I've entered. It's just weird that the average isn't near what I'm actually wearing.
Hi, friends. My aunt was recently diagnosed with cancer and needs a comfortable front-closure bra to wear during her treatment and recovery. Her best-fitting bras are 34HH. Any styles I should recommend to her? Thanks!

I’m so sorry about your aunt. Sending well vibes her way! My sister is stage 4 metastatic breast cancer currently. I believe my sister wore those stretchy bras that had the 5-6 bra hook & eye closures up the front after her double mastectomy. Anything more was very uncomfortable during her healing since she had drains in. I hope she can find something that helps her be comfortable during her battle.
the only ones i konw of are decent exposure, but they arent cheap - cup sized (but their own sizing, sort of), can be customized w front closure

Am so excited for my new Curvy Kate order!!!! It’s my very first time ordering a band 28 bra, and my first ever Curvy Kate order. I’ve ordered the Curvy Kate Daily Dream Padded Balcony Bra (CK4501) and Curvy Kate Smoothie Moulded Bra (CK2401) in size 28F and 28FF respectively. Really hope this will fit.

Good luck! Hope you find bras that you love!
This bra has been at my local Kohl’s store in the clearance section for months, maybe even years. I looked online and they don’t even sell Curvy Kate anymore.
So, the bra is marked down to around $14. 34J is nowhere near my size, but I’ve thought of picking it up for Bratabase every time I see it there. I ... know it’s silly, but I feel kind of bad seeing it still there after all this time. If anyone wants it, I’ll go buy it and ship it to you at cost+shipping. Otherwise I might just go and buy it anyway and put it in eBay or something lol.
There’s also a 36J Elila(?) bra of some kind that’s red and lacy. I don’t know as much about this brand but just throwing that out there too just in case lol

Lol, Bratabase doesn’t like it when I try to input measurements for a bralette that you put on by pulling it over your head. I promise, the unstretched band measurement really is 9.5 inches! (Edit: I should just double that measurement for the circumference, right? Does this post make me look like a fool?)
I would.
Yes double it. You want the figure to be the circumference just like a regular bra band is.
And no, it doesn't make you look like a fool, I promise! Every one of us make mistakes in our thinking and logic at the time that changes later. It's part of what makes us human.
In case you tried on a bra in a store (and took pictures) but maybe didn't buy it. Or got it and returned it right away. You are encouraged to also add this bra to your list of bras and then mark it as not owned. That will allow you to:
* Attach pictures to it of your experiment
* Write a ... review of the experience and why didn't work
* Set the fit on the site to tell the site that such bra was no good for you
* Allows you to track and point others with this entry's URL about what happened
This is much better than linking Imgur(or other site) links, since now that information will be properly filed to help the next person that browses the site for that bra.

I do always try to do this, but I admit that I’m less likely to take pics of bras that don’t fit, but I’m gonna try to remember to take all the pictures.
I'm not sure why, but you could try to search using the reference size, or 34:13
Letter sizing isn’t consistent across different brands. When you search for J the system doesn’t know if you mean an index 10 J (GG in standard UK sizing) or an index 13 J (what it sounds like you actually want), so it just displays results for both. You can make searches more precise if you search by index sizes, so for UK 34J you would search 34:13 and it will bring up all equivalent sizes in all sizing systems. Hope that makes sense lol
