For those of you who want to know what 34JJ boobs look like on a girl that is 5'6" tall and 145lbs, with a 29 inch waist and a 44 inch bust. This photo was taken 12 months postpartum and I am no longer breastfeeding. Some women lose their breasts after breastfeeding and some gain a few cup sizes and ... others stay the same size. My husband and I have noticed that after having each one of our 3 children, I have gained a few cup sizes each time to the point I am at now. In this photo I think I was actually wearing a 32K cup bra and not a JJ bra.

Hi! Can I ask what your underbust measurement is? Normally in the way we fit here, we'd expect someone with about a 34inch underbust to wear a 34 band, but if that was your case you'd only be in a gg cup, and it'd be surprising with your waist measurement. If you've tried it and prefer this to a smaller band that's your prerogative, but with a large bust you'll usually find you get much more support in a band size close to what you measure. :)
Elphabra : I have never quite understood what waist measurement has to do with underbust size. Some have waists that a lot or a little smaller than their underbust, some have waists that are a lot or a little larger than their underbust.
I myself have a 25" waist, a 28" underbust, and I find I'm most comfortable in relaxed 30 or snug (as in true-to-size) 32 bands. That's 5 to 7" difference, and yes, I just am that conical through my upper body (for reference, my shoulder circumference is about 40").
To me it seems just as random to connect one's waist measurement to bra-fitting as one's overbust measurement, Victoria's Secret style ;)

Woke up to find that the server was down :-/
It was easy to fix, tracing back what happened it was a nightly job that went crazy and consumed all the server's CPU resources, leaving any other process unable to operate.
We are all good to go, please keep depositing your bras and boobs

Hmm. Boob depository? hee hee hee...
You can @mention any of the bras you own too, I know some of you are aware of this, but I think it hasn't been told. Just start typing @ and then the size

Interesting!
34GG - Tutti Rouge » Liliana Bra (TU100), 80G - Melissa Dessous » Melissa0342 (0342) and 36G - Panache » Sienna (4471) - lots of love.
This place just keeps getting better and better.
I've been on Bratabase for nearly three years so I feel silly having to ask about this, but here goes: I'm not sure if I'm measuring the wire width correctly.
On the page where you enter bra measurements, the instruction is "measure the straight distance across the cup from end to end of the underwire". That makes sense, but I ... remember a measuring help page (possibly no longer on the site) that showed the wire width being measured straight across the cup, i.e. as a horizontal line. This is almost always going to be shorter than the distance between the underwire tips - on my Discover Mademoiselle Vanilla Cupcake (32A), I get 11.4cm/4.5" measuring from tip to tip and less than 10cm/3.9" measuring straight across. I don't want to give the site misleading data, so if it turns out I've been measuring the wrong way, I'll go back and edit my bra entries.

I always measure from tip to tip, but I exclude the width of the wires themselves. So basically I'm just measuring the distance from *just* inside the tips.
Jj maybe?
waffleknit, first of all, don't feel silly, we were many who measured "wrong" for a very long time, as the instructions just wasn't clear. There is a blog post about it at the blog... :) So, don't worry. :) And to ask is great!
What do you mean the difference is from measuring straight across and from tip to tip? If you don't include the underwire or wire channels (neither should be included) this should be the same, right? Or am I missing something? You can always "tilt" the cups so that the line becomes horizontal...

In the last 30 days:
* 1800+ bras added
* 3000+ pictures
* 1200+ reviews
* 400 new listings
* 200 sold through the site
* 225 new adventures
Thank you all!! <3
Filed under Bratabase
And of course the other side :(
* 50 bras deleted
* 120 pictures deleted
* 120 listings closed outside of Bratabase
Thanks for making this possible, Jj! I really appreciate this resource!
I just installed a change that I've been meaning to make for well over a year!
The blog post explains what's new but for the lazy:
* There are now drill down options
* Adventures are searchable
* Users are not searchable because of reasons

Did anyone else notice their bra photos magically disappeared on your "My Bras" page as well as the actual page for that bra?

The picture entries are still there, I made a picture migration on sunday morning and all the thumbnails on the site have to be regenerated (over 100000 thumbnails) so they're slowly showing up, there's a huge processing queue to create them all again, when that's cleared we should be back to normal.
Does this mean there will be a problem with uploading new ones for the time being? Kind of moving slow for me...

So I'm really happy to have discovered Bratabase all in all. I've been on here for a few months, and it really helped me find comfy, well-fitting bras. Since I can completely forget about store-bought bras with my 28F, I'm ordering, and having Bratabase really helps with that.
I'm also really happy about the bra listings. I believe that we ... girls should help each other, and this is just such a brilliant way to do it. We're saving each other money and hassle. All in all, almost all the 'transfers' went smoothly.
While they didn't fit, the bras that Vicki sent me did help me learn a lot, and one of those has found a new happy owner, the other one has it's new owner pending.
I bought bras off soullesswonder and pantaloon and both fit, and I'm really happy about that. It was also really pleasant 'doing business' with them, but I do find that in general everyone on here is pleasant.
I also bought a bikini top from Fairy79 .. I was excited about it but it doesn't fit, so it's listed again for someone else with beachy dreams.
The only thing that didn't go so well was this listing of the Panache Harmony: I have no idea what happened there but I was looking forward to trying it... Let's just leave it at "I've been waiting for a month."
So, yeah. I'm mostly happy. Thanks so much!

I've had really good experiences both buying and exchanging/selling bras both here and on reddit's /r/braswap. Being able to buy EM and Comexim bras here first gave me good ideas of what size to order from them. I also took chances on bra brands that I otherwise assumed wouldn't work for me (like Kris Line). I was able to get a Thrill Me bra that I'd been on the hunt for, even in the color I most wanted (thanks pinkwonder!)
Also, it brings a smile to my face when someone takes the time to let me know what they got from me fits (or comes close to fitting). I feel like I'm doing my part to help towards someone finding a bra that fits :)
This new explore feature seems fun, and has in fact confirmed what I always knew- there are no bras listed on the site which would have roughly the correct wire width and cup depth for me together with the right band length. It's fun to play with though.
However, lurking amongst the similar bras which I did find by playing with ... parameters a little, there was one 34F with all the 34J/JJ and 32JJ/K bras. This is a great mystery to me. I'm fairly certain this must be a typo from someone entering the measurements. Either that or there is some kind of great untapped wealth of 34F bras I should have been wearing all along. This second explanation whilst less plausible is more fun. http://www.bratabase.com/browse/panache/saffron-5661/34F/
here it is- bask in all it's mysterious glory.

Thank you for bringing it up! :) Sadly, based on the measurements for the other bras close it seems to be a typo, I would guess that it's supposed to be a 28 rather than 38 cm in cup width. Easy mistake that easily can happen.
(If anyone happens to find other bras with measurements that stands out that might be a typo or something, just send a message and it will be taken care of. I've entered wrong measurements by mistake more time than I want to admit. :P)
Nesoa -thanks! I'll send a message along if I ever find something like this again (I agree that it's really easy to put in the wrong number). However, you've completely destroyed the mystique I've built up around this bra. My imagination needs to get out more often.
I wrote a post explaining why all this happened and what are the steps taken to address this.
I hope it clears most doubts, please comment if there's more that could be added to help, and spread the word if you've seen people asking and being frustrated with this, I hope you guys can understand why this is happening.

Hey guys,
Just letting you know, that exchanges still have shipping covered, but both bras must be transferred through the site. Of course, shipping both ways will be covered.

Do you know someone who needs some 32DD bras? I'm continuing with my bra collection pruning. I'm listing some Natoris from when I thought I was a 32DD. I figure somebody can use them!

Hi, I am new to this site and could use some help. I put in my measurements but I must have done it incorrectly because all of my recommendations are for DD or F cup sizes but I typically wear a B. Any suggestions on what I've done wrong? I did it a few times and cannot tell where I am messing up. Thank you!

It could very well be that those sizes may be in the right range.
Remember that the recommendations get better as you add bras to your account, with measurements only it can only do so well.
What measurements did you enter?
You may well need a DD+ cup, it's not that big! A typical B cup will have around a 2"(ish) difference between underbust and overbust measurement, so a quick glance at your measurements will let you know if the B is right or not :)

How should we measure sports bras that don't have individual cups? Just measure the band lengths and strap widths?
Filed under Bratabase
If the sport bra does not have individual cups it will not ask for those measurements, it may ask for bust perimeter.
Each bra has a set of flags that indicate which measurements to ask for, just go and add your bra the form should ask for the right things.
Ok, this question goes out to Jj and the person that once upon a time started using the word "cup depth". What is up with calling it that? Does anyone know whom ever come up with that idea?
Calling it "cup depth" completely messes with my cute little autistic head.
A more fun note: don't google image the word "gore".

If you have the inside of the cups facing you, and you're bending over, it is a depth, isn't it? :)
I agree that projection would make more sense.
Aaa Cup depth for me is doing this: Stuff the cup as intended, lay on a flat surface. Take a yardstick and measure depth like shown in the picture :D
I have no idea what it should be called because it comes out wrong whatever expression chosen. I don't even know if the word perimeter for breast is logic. But if it is then why not use the same word for the cup perimeter?
MilkAndHoney Eye architect: what should it be called? :D What are we in reality measuring?

Jj , is there a way to 'tag' old adventures? I'd be more than willing to go through them (starting with my own, but I wouldn't mind going through the others as well) and help you organise a bit

Oh me too <3 I think so far no one has written more adventures than me. But I figure devilangel is catchig up on me :D Because considering the time she has been here she has written more :D

I have noticed something about listed bras. This happened when I listed a bra at first, then removed the listing, and then listed the same bra again. I supposed that the bra would´ve appeared in the most recent listings, on page 1, but it went straight to this page x, where it appeared when I first listed it.
I realised that ... if people tend to check only the recent listings, they would not find my bra!
When I tried to edit the listing, there was this "edit"-option, but I couln´t "update" that listing / bra.
Also I noticed that you can search for bras of certain size. But if there is a bra, for example my listed bras where tag says 32E, but in reality they fit like 30D, you would not find those bras if you search 30D!!
And oh my, I just tried to search "32E", and still it would not find my listed bras, so is there something wrong with the search??
Because of all this I tend to once in a while, go through ALL listed bras, in case the search misses something that I´d like, but I´m sure there is a way to improve these things. If only Jj will have the time...

... how did this work, again?
I know somebody recently asked the same question, but I can't seem to find the thread and due to baby-induced 'sleepdeprivationdementia' I really can't remember the details. Maybe an idea to add this info to the FAQs?

I think it was me who asked this question. I was told to message Jj or go to the Feedback bar on the left of the page.
iI am terribly sorry, iI will write about this on the faq and on the listings' help Page. Once you close the deal and figured how much it will cost to ship, send me a message via the feedback form or email or however with your PayPal address and I'll transfer you the money.
