  1. Sports Bra (5021)

This sports bra is so comfy it's like pajamas for your boobs! Yet it still magically controls the bounce, even tho there's a little extra room on top for me (it's quite tall in the cup). The band is true to size and the cups give a pretty rounded, but minimized shape. I ADORE how the straps are placed--very close inward so they don't rub on my shoulders! Everything on this bra is soft and padded and I think I'll be wearing it as a normal bra sometimes because it's so comfy (and cute with the leopard!)

  2. Sports Bra (5021)

I bought my first Panache Sports bra used on ebay, because I was going to work in a farm and needed some sort of comfortable bra in which I could easily move with less impact to my back than "normal bras". I followed the advices on Bratabase that said to get one cup size down from your real size.
It was my first sports bra ever, but since it was a used bra I couldn't really officially review its effect, in my opinion. Then I lost weight and changed sizes so I ordered a brand new sports bra. Now I've used it everyday for three months and I've just ... bought a new one in white, so I can finally review this bra !

The first thing I've noticed is that, unlike my "normal" (Cleo) bras, the band is quite firm. It was good because I have enough to deal with back pain with the physical activities I'm doing around the farm, there's no need to add those of a too much elasticated bra back !
The center gore is quite comfortable with its padding, and it separates my breasts nicely. The cups are soft and comfortable too, and it protect my nipples from the cold air out there, which is good since I'm in Sweden. There's nothing I dislike more than having cold hard nipples, it hurts !
The padded straps are also very comfortable. But I don't know if it's the texture of the padded sections or the sweat produced, but I have a couple of small red pimples where they sit on my shoulders.

The big advantage of this bra is that the straps are more centered and closer to my neck than on my other, "normal" bras. It's the feature I love best in this bra, because thanks to that the straps don't fall off my narrow shoulders like they did with my other bras ! I wish all of Cleo and Panache bras would have the same feature…
I like the 3-hooks closure for the nice support it gives.

As it is, this bra doesn't suppress bounciness, but then I have very soft breasts. I don't use the J-hook in my everyday activities but I noticed it helps a little with the bounciness.

It doesn't get smelly with sweat or retains much deodorant perfume, and when I wash it, it dries very quickly.

This bra gives my breasts a rather nice shape, but less projected and high than with my Cleo bras, so it has a little minimizing effect. I can wear this bra under normal everyday clothes too (which I do because I have only two bras that fit me at the moment) and it's not obvious I'm wearing a sports bra.

All in all, I think this is a pretty good bra ! The only downside is the price…

Not only a nice, thorough review, but another reminder of how bad americans are at learning another language . . . i'm always impressed by such eloquence in a second language

Thank you! *blushes* Being a french girl in Sweden, english is kinda required to be able to communicate here ^^
I'm sure with enough motivation and efforts, anyone can learn another language ! But english is special because it has become universal…

I have wide-rooted, even breasts with tall roots.

There is no cutting into my tall roots on the top--great fit there.

Very tight band, reminiscent of Cleo bands. This bra is SO CUTE and feels very well made.

The underwires are strange--they feel much more flexible than normal wires. It is hard to feel them at all. I didn't realize that the bra was actually sitting well below my inframammary fold at first. I tried adjusting it upward but I find it more comfortable a bit below--however, it's hard to tell where the wires even are due to their strangeness, and I'm not sure the wire ... placement matters as much for a sports bra.

It gives a nice round, and uplifted-but-slightly-minimized shape. I would definitely wear this as a normal bra on some days.

Due to the shape and construction of the bra, I had some difficulty on the S&S.

Can update this review after the next game of ultimate frisbee!

update: This sports bra is AWESOME! I don't have large breasts, but the fact that I never thought about what I was wearing or what my boobs were doing proves that everything was in place (and I could focus on the game!).

I'm in the middle of a weight loss journey and measure at a 36, 34 very tight. I got the 38 band because everything led me to believe this would be very snug but will be returning in exchange for 36. The cups are too full in the upper region and wrinkle oddly especially if I reach upward (like for the lat pulldown) or forward. I also get a little bit of an east-westy boobs in armpits effect from the cup shape, which is odd because this is known for giving a very forward front of chest shape.

This bra was a huge failure and basically exactly matches the long review from another lady who has the 30G

I can't fill the bottom, there is a very odd fold that is both unattractive and causes discomfort and weird fit.

The racerback is both pointless and very uncomfortable, not matter what length the strap.

The straps don't adjust short enough.

There is no seperation between the girls, but I wasn't expecting that anyways. Just something to keep in mind.

There was no support from jiggling and it seems like running is just as painful as any other plain bra.

I cant even wear this as a lounge bra. It's a huge no. I'm quite disappointed as I do need something to tie them down and give support for gym, but oh well. Panache, I'm disappointed for once https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    34H

    Fits

I just received this in the mail after purchasing it from another Bratabase user. I already own a black Panache Sport in 32H which I have pretty much worn the bejeesus out of, since I like to use it as a t-shirt bra and also for jogging/walking my dog. The 32H is very slightly too small for me now - the cups don't contain my tissue at the top, although this is partly because I have very tall roots. I wanted to get a second Panache Sport and was interested in trying it in a cup up, so I grabbed this 34H knowing it would ... possibly be a bit too big in the band (note: at time of writing, Panache currently only makes this in D-H, although it's been confirmed that they will start making it in D-J in the near future).

My only other experience with a 34-banded sister size prior to this one was an Avocado Greta in 75K, which was a pretty spectacular fail on me mostly due to the massive band. I received the Greta after I paid for this bra and was subsequently worried that this one wouldn't fit. As it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised by the fit of the band - admittedly, I do have to do it up on the tightest hooks and it is still angled up a bit at the back, but I don't feel it moving with wear (I took it for a test run to work in the lab today). It's definitely wearable, even though I've been leaning more towards 30 bands rather than 32s lately. If it sees significant stretching with time, I'll consider taking the band in.

The cups definitely look better on me than the 32H cups. They still don't quite contain all my upper tissue like on the women who model the Panache Sport, but due to the aforementioned tall roots I don't think that's ever going to happen. The gore's too tall for me, but I don't find it uncomfortable - it doesn't brute-force its way onto my sternum to squish breast tissue, like some of Bravissimo's own-brand bras that I've tried. As always, the wires get an A+++ for comfort. The bottoms of the cups don't dig into my ribs at all (this is a problem that I have had with pretty much every bra I own, which I am pretty sure is due to the squishy tummy I am developing as a result of being in grad school https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> ). From Panache's marketing of this bra I believe the underwires are wrapped in silicon gel. I wish all bra wires were made like this! My boobs need the strong Panache wires, but without the digging in.

I have one fit issue that does bother me, and it's that the wings began to bite my armpits at the end of the day. This happened more on my smaller side, and has never happened in the 32H. This is probably a consequence of the bra technically being too wide and shallow for me, but I'm willing to deal with it.

I LOVE this bra so much, the only pitfall that I'm having is that I think I'm wearing the wrong size (cup volume is fine, but I need to size down in the band because I started wearing it on the smallest hook and it's starting to stretch out. This is currently one of the most functional, comfortable and flattering bras that I own, but it's perhaps not too versatile unless you don't mind it showing and looking sporty under certain garments. It's very sturdy and well made, I only own one and have been running in it 4-5 times a week for two years and ... it's only just starting to stretch out. The band and straps are wide and very comfortable, and the cups have a very flattering shape (I often wear this as a regular t-shirt bra). The most exciting thing about this bra to me, however, is how functional it is. My "girls" are particularly bouncy even when walking, which is very painful and uncomfortable for someone who runs a lot, but this bra is seriously my best friend because there is almost ZERO bounce in this thing. The encapsulation fit is really effective, comfortable and breathable. It's just great. I'm going to get a better size soon and will update once I do, but even in the slightly wrong size this bra is awesome. Everyone should have one.

  8. Non Wired Sports Bra (7341)

I bought this bra for its supposed comfort and support. It did not disappoint !
The first thing I loved was the straps' placement: it doesn't slide off my shoulders as my Cleo bras as it's placed closer to the the neck. I didn't try the J-hook yet so I can't give my review on that.
The molded cups are very comfortable and it doesn't enhance the unevenness of my breasts like usual molded bras do because it's not stiff at all.
The central gore doesn't separate my breasts at all, which is not a problem for me.
The band with 3-hooks closure is supportive as it should, without being uncomfortable ... or leaving red marks.
It minimizes my breasts a bit by bringing them together closer to my chest, which is not a bad thing either.

I almost have a quad-boob effect in this bra because I lost some pounds and my previous cup size was HH. But they don't do the Sports bras in my size yet and it would have been too big anyways I think. The slight breast tissue excess doesn't bother me though because it's only noticeable by me.

When worn under clothes, this bra looks smooth enough, but it's a little visible. I have the black one with the multicolored wings and both the straps and the wings flash their colors under light-colored clothes, but it's not an issue.

The only thing I can complain about, is that it doesn't completely immobilize my breasts: I still get bounces in this bra, but I can't compare it to any other sports bra except the wired Panache version I got later, because this non-wired bra is my first sports bra ever. But the wired version seems to do a better job at reducing the bounces, even though it's the same size but the wired is a bit too big for me. I wonder if the fault is the bra's or my squishy soft breast tissue's ?
But as I don't use it for "real" physical exercises (only for the occasional bike ride, activities that ask for a bit of physical effort, and everyday use), the lack of a strong bounce control doesn't bother me.

This bra dries very quickly when washed, to the point that I can wear it on the morning after if I wash it in the evening and let it hang dry in the shower for the night. I suppose it proves its breathability.

I like how this bra looks, although for practical everyday wear I'd prefer a plain black version.
I will buy another one even if it's my most expensive bra, that's for sure !

I love the pattern on this bra. It is really the best looking sports bra I've ever seen, so I can't compliment it more on appearance. It is also very well made and sturdy. The J-hook is not something I'd ever look for in a bra, but I can see it being useful mainly because it allows the straps to get even tighter and improves side support.

The bra is an almost perfect fit for me. The support I get from it is excellent. Previously, I had only worn compression bras. Even though I know the encapsulation style is better/healthier, I can only accept a sports bra if ... it stops movement and bounce and this one does.

Since I have already reviewed the Panache Sport Sports Bra (5021) , I will put some comparisons here. The coverage is full at the top and sides, so the side panels don't jut outwards like they did for me on the 30FF - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021) and I don't quadboob out of it. The J-Hook also does not hurt me on this model, while it did on the wired version. Furthermore, the wired version was notably uncomfortable on the straps for me. They are very scratchy and irritating on my skin. I was getting bad red marks right away. I also found the underwire uncomfortable on my ribs. The non-wired version has none of these issues.

I was concerned from reading other reviews that this bra would not be suitable for someone short in stature and with high roots. I would say that it is not *perfect*, but it still does the job. If the straps could tighten about one more inch, it would be ideal. Also, I think short women will find that they have to really make sure the bra band - because of lack of underwire - is positioned as high as possible against their IMF to avoid wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. Unlike compression bras, the lack of underwire here requires some positioning to get the right cup fit, at least for me. But once it's on, it's not going anywhere.

This is partly because the band at 30" is very snug; tighter than I would want for comfort in a regular bra. I can only speak for it as new and unwashed. I haven't worn it enough to test it for longer. I have a 29" underbust and 28.5 tight underbust (not much squish). If you have 30 or above I would recommend sizing up in the band.

I can't stress enough how great it looks on. I love the black with geo pattern. I'm not a fan of solid black sports bras, so this adds something different even though I'm not likely to wear it without a shirt. I still like knowing it's pretty. The seams on the bra are somewhat visible through a shirt, but for sportswear I really don't mind that.

If I had to nitpick, my only concern is that there is still a little wrinkling at the base of the cup. They are probably a tad wide and shallow for me. I don't feel it when I'm wearing it and it doesn't affect support, but when I take the bra off, I can see some creases forming on the inside of the foam cup, even after only a couple minutes of wear. (It is not a cup size issue and in fact this problem was worse for me in the 30FF). I don't know what that will mean for longevity. I hope it will be ok. Finally, how the heck am I going to pack this ginormous bra into my luggage?!

I've used this bra for yard work and exercising with my dogs. It was reasonably good at reducing bounce and the height ensured that the girls didn't fall out.

Right now, I'm a firm 32HH/J in most bras and I've seen people recommend sizing down due to cups running large so I chose the 32H. The band is comfortably snug, but the cups are too small and not very forgiving of upper or inner fullness. Despite this, the bra is very comfortable and gave a rounded, slightly east-west shape. The quadboob on my larger breast doesn't show through most shirts. I might try a larger size when the size range is expanded in the fall.

I wouldn't recommend sizing down in the cups to anyone with FOT boobs.

    Didn't fit

Why are the cups so big on this bra? I first ordered the Panache Sports Top, which is pretty much the Panache Sports Bra with a tank top over it, in my regular size in Panache (30GG), only to find that the band was so tight that I could barely fasten it and that the cups were way too big, especially at the top. So I figured a band size up and a cup size down would do the trick. Unfortunately, not quite.

The band is perfect in the 32FF, but the cups are still too tall for my high set breasts. It acts similarly to the Fantasie Rebecca ... on me - the cups are rigid enough to keep a normal looking shape even though the top isn't completely filled. The J-hook in the back helps with this gaping, but it doesn't completely fix it.

I haven't tried working out in it yet since I might want to exchange it, but I suspect that if I did, it probably wouldn't control bounce as well as it could if the shape worked better for me. The wires seem wide enough that I might be able to size down even more to a 32F or maybe even a 32E. This extreme difference would make me suspect that I'm not actually anywhere close to a 30GG if I hadn't been wearing a Cleo Lucy in that size all day that I filled out just fine. I guess it's just one of those weird shape issues I'll probably never fully understand.

I could see this being a very good t-shirt bra as it gives a very nice, rounded shape under shirts. I haven't worn it for very long, but it seems like it could also be a comfortable everyday bra.

    Hasn't set fit

This bra has a lot of great reviews. I like the appearance of it, especially some of the older season color combinations. In all the reviews I read online, I also liked how it looked on, the coverage, the overall sturdiness of the construction and the shape under clothes. However, I have had nothing but trouble with the Panache Sport (wired) bra. It doesn't live up to the hype for me.

I typically wear a 30G and was recommended to size down in the cup for a 30FF. When I tried the bra on in an independent boutique, they didn't have 30FF in stock, so I tried 32F and ... 30G. The 32F was swimming in the band, but right in the cup. The 30G was comfortable in the band (not snug, just comfortable), but gaping in the cup. So the fitter and I confirmed that a 30FF would be the way to go. I ordered the 30FF in black from Nordstrom even though I preferred the older season colors (for free returns).

The first thing I noticed is that the 30FF was too small in the cup. The FF is half a size too small for my larger boob although a perfect fit on the other side. I fill out the cups well all the way to the wire (no wrinkling at the bottom of the cup), but there is some gaping at the "sides" and quadding on the larger boob over the top. The side panels seem to gape outwards when I put my arms down/relaxed. On the plus side, the wings don't go up too high into my armpit area. The band is firm enough for support on the last hook, but could go to the second hook. Comparing this to the 30G - Panache Sport » Non Wired Sports Bra (7341) that I will review soon, the non-wired has tighter band.

On the whole, the bra "fits". Unfortunately, it is incredibly uncomfortable. The deal breaker is that the straps feel very hard and scratchy. I have to tighten them all the way and I still need a couple more inches of tighten room because it's not enough (I'm short with high set breasts). While the J-clip helps with the support a little, it hurts really badly to have it clipped. If I loosen the straps, the pain lessens on the clip, but then so does the support. I can't get a happy medium. The longer I wear it, the more it hurts. I would not recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin or shoulders. When I took it off, I looked like I had been attacked by a cat.

I am also not sold on the underwires. The padding around them seemed mostly sufficient, but the channels are a little longer than the wire and I don't know how long they would last without poking through. The wires aren't uncomfortable just wearing the bra, but doing some side to side motions and turning were abrasive for me. I have bony ribs without much "squish", so this could be a factor.

I was surprised to much prefer the non-wired version. I will add a review for that one shortly.

I am a fan of the wired and non-wired Panache Sport bras, but I am starting to like the non wired best. It stays in place better during my workouts and just seems to fit better. I can wear 30DD, 30E and 32DD pretty comfortably in these. The 30 bands are better, but the 32DD is a bit more comfortable and cups fit best. Technically speaking, I think the 30E is the best fit (my usual UK size). Try the non wired if the wired version was a problematic fit for you.

    • i just bought one of these and worry about which size i should get, i didn't know weather to get a 32D or 32DD, are they really that similar that it probably doesn't matter much? i guess the 32DD just has more "coverage" right?

    • 1

That is essentially true. I find the main difference here is more coverage, but it also might depend on how projected you are. Sometimes if I go too big the tip of the cup is empty, but with this bra it isn't super noticeable. If I go a cup size down for better fit, I get a little bit of underarm fat protruding, which I hate, but that is something I deal with in all sports bras. The smaller cup is usually better support, though, so I am tending to go more in that direction these days.

    • thank u for your reply. i got my 32DD in the mail today and yes, i do seem to have a little empty space at the tip of the cup AND the cups are cutting into my armpit fat a little and i'm thinking if it was a cup size smaller that armpit fat section would be even more painful.
so thank u for helping me not worry about it too much :)

I have this bra in 28FF, which is two sizes too small. I had heard it was a good idea to size down a cup size from the reviews on Amazon.com, and then my boobs went up a cup size between ordering the bra and its arrival. Keeping it because I need a sports bra asap and I'll just have to make do with altering the wires until I can afford another. (It's much more comfortable with the wires adjusted, but still not ideal.)

I don't believe it's necessary to size down; the bra seems true to size (way too small for me) and if anything I ... might recommend sizing up in the band. I can fasten it, but it's almost too tight on my 27.5 inch ribcage.

I notice much less bounce when I use the j-hook to turn it into a racer back. Not sure if that's because it doesn't fit properly or if everyone would have that issue.

Otherwise, the construction of the bra is very good, and the wires are padded enough that I can't really feel them. And it gives me a nice shape under my tank tops without any seams showing.

I'd really like to try this bra in my proper size once I have more room in my budget!

I've been searching for a good sports bra. I originally got the regular wired Panache sports bra and while it fit, the high gore of the wires irritated my sternum, so I decided to try this instead. When I first put it on it was quite snug which is to be expected but it wasn't terribly tight. I've worn it a few times now and I've gotten used to it.

The inner molding gave me a lifted, forward projecting shape that is quite flattering. The only drawback is that the inside is all shaped foam molding and it can get kind of hot especially when I'm used to cheap compression bras that are quite thin.

The bra gives great support and holds everything in place. I think its also a very attractive bra that has a cool, sporty look to it.

This unfortunately didn't fit for a number of reasons. Firstly, I could barely fasten it in the back. I had to struggle with it a lot to get it to stretch enough the first time, and even though it stretched out a little after being worn for a while, it was still a challenge to get it on. There was also quite a bit of extra space at the top and a little space at the bottom. I think the cups might run large, and it seems like it's definitely meant for more full on top breasts than mine.

Despite all this, it was still quite supportive, and I ... would have overlooked it if not for the fact that the shirt wouldn't stay down. If I moved around at all, it would ride up. Not exactly ideal for exercise. I think if my stomach was flatter it would have been fine, but considering the entire reason I bought it was to lose my pregnancy weight, it seemed a little silly to keep it at this point.

One nice feature it has is the J-hook in the back, which helped a little with the issues I was having with the extra room in the cups.

If I was going to try another one of these, I would try one band size up and one cup size down, but I think unless I find a really great deal on one, I'll just look for a traditional sports bra.

Best sports bra I've tried so far. However, this is definitely more suited to full on top shape. There is too much room/its too projected in the top in this for me and not projected enough/not enough room at the bottom and around the gore. Sizing down in the cup made it too small all over so I've stuck with this size and pad the tops and put it in the racerback strap configuration when I use it for high impact activity which seems to work really well. The band is really nice and tight for a 30 - even after several wears.

My first sports bra! And in my proper size! Very soft and comfortable pink tank top version of the Panache Sport.

The molded cups are a bit wide, shallow, and tall for me; my short, narrow roots and super projected shape (nearly omega?) make it look like gap city. And the gore doesn't tack at the top. However, I didn't find that this negatively changed how the bra worked, so I kept it.

The straps are nicely padded and there is a J hook for a racerback converter you can easily do up yourself if you have full arm mobility. Be aware that the band does come ... super tight..I needed my boyfriend's help to get it on the first few times, and ended up using an extender because I didn't want to rip out the hooks and eyes while moving around. However, I don't think I'd want to go up to a 34 as I think it would be too loose, especially over time as I exercised more.

The tank part of it could be longer (I have a longer torso), and it does tend to ride up a bit. Also, the fabric is super clingy, so that plus the rolling up doesn't make it the best for people who are wanting to disguise their fat rolls.

It is a bit tricky to get on. I just pull it on like a shirt before leaning over to pull my boobs into the cups. Then I roll up the back part of the tank (like a shirt), then reach under to fasten the straps. It does take some practice.

Never thought I'd get to a point where the bouncing of my hair up in a bun would be more annoying than the bounce of my boobs!

I really wanted to like this bra.

I think it fit okay. It still felt very firm, despite being a larger size than the 30GG - Panache Sport » Sports Bra (5021) I own, but the boob separation on this was nonexistent for me.

I might need a larger cup size -- that's certainly possible, checking on the depth. But either way, the gore floated uselessly, not firm enough to get between my boobs, and I wound up with a sports bra that had no separation. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Miserably uncomfortable, and I'm sure I would have wound up with some chafing if I had tried to actually exercise in this.

I'm curious, does it have a special feature allowing it to tack somehow? Because typically only underwired bras have gores that can tack. I've never tried on or seen a nonwired bra that had a gore that had the ability to tack, but if Panache had designed this to try to make it tack (even if it is not that successful) I'd be very curious to know how they did it.

    • I mean, it does have a gore -- it feels like it's made out of the same memory foam kinda material as the separate cups themselves. Another review on here said it kept her comfortably separated. It would probably work better on someone with wider-set breasts. I've got about a fingertip to spare between mine.

I'm not sure if you're referring to my review, or not, but I never said it separated. When I wear it, it keeps the side tissue at the forefront. Because of my shape, having that side tissue not stuffed into my armpits is more important to me than having a lot of separation. So the gore doesn't tack on me. It wouldn't in the original Wired Sport either, because it's just not made for that. I've actually never seen a reviewer of the original Sport have success with that.

If separation is a must, the Freya brand sports bra would be better. I've heard it has firmer and higher wires. It has more structure than the Sport.

Yeah I took the opportunity earlier this week to check out some of the unwired options at Nordstrom Rack where they typically have a lot of full bust sports bras, and although they do have that gore-ish piece, without a wire that piece is not going to stay rigid enough to sit flat on the torso. Really I did not see any nonwired sports bras that looked designed to ensure full separation. I LOOOOOVE nonwired choices for many purposes and always try to suggest it as an option to try, because I think us full bust folks do miss out on some good solutions by automatically ruling them out, but if separation is 100% essential for someone then I really would not steer them to an unwired bra. It's just not going to do that unless you are really at the far (small) end of the boob volume spectrum.

    • littlechichend Huh! Well, the other Sport separated me. :|a

My big issue with sports bras is weird straps.

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Freya-Active-AA4891-Black-Moulded-Racer-Back-Sports-Bra-Sizes-28-to-40-DD-H-Cups-/350916194398

      like this.

I also have a Natori "convertible" sports bra, but the way its straps work also annoys me. They don't adjust down like a normal bra, but "clip" down, and the excess strap either goes under the bra (which I couldn't get to stop rumpling uncomfortably) or on top (which is unstable -- the hooks unhooked on me).

      :\

wendybien thanks for the additional info!
