Look at what I got!!! A couple weeks ago Figleaves was having a sale and I was able to snag this beauty for £29.40 plus shipping, which translated to about $61 CAD (which is basically the best price I've seen in Canada for the Panache Sports bra). Well, I got this in the mail on Friday and I went for my first run wearing it yesterday, so these are my first impressions.

First of all, it's so vibrant in real life! I love it! Secondly, its quality and craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable. There isn't a single thread out of place. Third, it fits pretty well! I was lucky to ... be able to try on a 30F at Broad Lingerie in Toronto when I was there last, and Sam said that this Cosmic colourway (and the black) runs a bit tighter in the band than the other colourways, so she said I should be fine with the 28FF. It fits well on the second set of eyes for me, and I really enjoy that it has three hooks! The encapsulation is a very different feeling to the compression of my Shock Absorber Ultimate Run that I'm used to. I don't know which I prefer yet. The gore does not tack on me, so I don't feel quite as locked in as I was expecting, but it still seems to support me well. I will probably need to shorten the straps down the road, but for now they're fine. I don't know whether I'll use the J hook or not. My Shock Absorber can only be worn racerback style, and it feels very secure that way, I just don't like the tan lines hahah.

In this size range, this bra seems to run small in the cups. The measurements are in the range of other 28F bras I own from Panache and Cleo. It is shaped best for someone with at least moderate projection and who has some upper fullness and tall roots. For those who are shallow or very FOB, I would say you may be able to size down, but it'll depend on whether you still need the depth at the bottom of the cups or not.

Overall, I'm happy with this bra so far! I'll be sure to give an update down the road to let y'all know how it holds up over time https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I love the pattern too!! Good deal!!

    • This is great tell me what colours are tighter

    • maraki Typically, bras that are dyed black tend to run tighter than others, but it's always a good idea to check the individual measurements of bras that you're interested in. Luckily, you're in the right place for that :)

Stats for reference: FOT, centre full, close & low set, soft tissue, short & narrow roots, and projected.

    Look:
Classic grey marl colour, made from grey and white strands spun together to give a soft 'washed' grey effect. Goes well with grey leggings for a matching gym set (though I personally prefer to wear a top too), but can easily be paired with other colours for more personality. A timeless piece that goes well with pretty much everything!

    Background:
I tried my first panache sports bra last year at the start of my ABTF journey and loved the support (& confidence) it gave me to exercise. I used to ... stuff myself into too small shock absorbers (compressed me to the point of looking flat chested while spilling out of the edges) and other standard S/M/L sized pullover bras (no bounce control coupled with either band too loose or not enough chest coverage). These had worked fine for my <1 hr gym workouts (though I literally had to throw the bra off as soon as I was done), then COVID-19 hit and gyms closed. I tried running outdoors with (too small) shock absorbers but they restricted my breathing, and the pullover bras simply didn't offer enough support. Discovering Panache sports bras honestly revolutionised my exercise routine; instead of compressing (essentially felt like strapping) my breasts to my chest, they are encapsulated in proper fitting cups and can handle high intensity activity with no bounce at all! I'm never going back.

    Fit:
I've had panache sports bras in 30FF, 30F & 28G over the past year and feel pretty confident that 28FF is the best fit for my current measurements. I worked it out mainly by the process of elimination:
    - 30FF, after several months of running I realised that even in racerback-style my chest was wobbling in the cups when exercising
    - 30F, cups were supportive but over time I had to wear this on the tightest hook
    - 28G, band was perfectly snug on the loosest hook but I had to wear the cups with the straps adjusted to its shortest length to feel well supported
    - 28FF, band is perfectly snug and I have enough strap length to adjust as desired during my monthly size fluctuations. I feel so supported that I don't even have to use the racerback style for high intensity activity https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Used to fit

I am not such a super exercise machine like I should be, but I wanted to invest in a good sports bra because, let's face it -- without one, there's absolutely NO hope of me ever getting out there to exercise! I like to jog when I have time and the weather is good, so I really needed something better than the crappy one-size-fits-most champion sports bras.

I chose the purple and grey version of the panache sports bra simply because it looked awesome. It's a little more "fun" than just black and probably shows the grime a little less than white. It doesn't look like a sports bra ... meant to hold in big boobs, it looks great!

The biggest con so far is that the band is, in my opinion, extremely small. My underbust measurement fluctuates between about 27.5 to 28.5, and I can close this band on the loosest hooks, but just barely. I feel that I may have to get a band extender to extend it seriously just one more hook's width in order to, you know, breathe properly! I like a good, fitted band, but this might be a bit too much.

The other HUGE plus of this bra is the shape it gives me! Whoa! I'm used to the unending uniboob of other sports bras, but this gives a nice, rounded shape with two clearly defined boobs! It isn't as super awesome as my other bras(naturally), but I feel like I could wear this underneath real clothing with the intention of taking a jog later in the day and not feel self conscious that it's overtly obvious that I am wearing a sports bra, given that the cut of the shirt isn't giving it away.

    Look:
Raspberry colourway, this bra has beautiful maroon (deep red-purple) cups and band which I think looks good with a lot of skin tones. It has lime green and violet (dark purple) straps which extend as accents along the top and front of the bra to give a serious burst of colour. It gives me fresh, fruity and fun vibes which contrasts well with my other Panache Sport bras (Grey Marl & Black/ Lime geo-lace). Although this isn't my usual style, I think it gives me a subconscious energy boost to have ... this bright under armour on during workouts!

I go into more detail in my other review (link as above), but essentially this bras fits the same as that one - a definite keeper! The band feels perfectly snug and I have enough strap length to adjust as desired during my cycle fluctuations. I feel super supported when using this for running, both with and without the racerback style. It's a staple in my bradrobe and only sports bra I rely on for physcial activity https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Black and lime colourway, this bra is styled with a modern black geo lace overlay on (what seems to me) a fluorescent/ highlighter yellow mould. It gives me fierce, don't-mess-with-me vibes with a splash of bold, statement colour. Although this isn't my usual style, I think it gives me a subconscious mental push to go harder during workouts because I feel so badass in this! It's a versatile piece due to the black, though I usually pair it with all black to make the colour pop (arguably no-one but me see's ... this since it's always under a top).

I go into more detail in my other review (link as above), but essentially this bras fits the same as that one with a slightly sturdier feel - I think this might be due to the materials used in the black lace overly. I feel so supported that I don't even have to use the racerback style for high intensity activity, would recommend 10000% https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    Didn't fit

I have this bra in 28FF, which is two sizes too small. I had heard it was a good idea to size down a cup size from the reviews on Amazon.com, and then my boobs went up a cup size between ordering the bra and its arrival. Keeping it because I need a sports bra asap and I'll just have to make do with altering the wires until I can afford another. (It's much more comfortable with the wires adjusted, but still not ideal.)

I don't believe it's necessary to size down; the bra seems true to size (way too small for me) and if anything I ... might recommend sizing up in the band. I can fasten it, but it's almost too tight on my 27.5 inch ribcage.

I notice much less bounce when I use the j-hook to turn it into a racer back. Not sure if that's because it doesn't fit properly or if everyone would have that issue.

Otherwise, the construction of the bra is very good, and the wires are padded enough that I can't really feel them. And it gives me a nice shape under my tank tops without any seams showing.

I'd really like to try this bra in my proper size once I have more room in my budget!

I’m a 26 ff/g in UK sizing, with even to FoB and close set. I got this bra one cup size up, which was a mistake. It is slightly too big, but not enough that I don’t wear it. I use the racer back clips to help it fit better. Order your natural size and it will fit well.

This is the most comfortable sport's bra and it fits me so well. I could wear this bra all the time. It is very supportive, the band stays in place without being uncomfortably tight. It feels like my breasts are being held in place and separated, which is what I want when I am working out.

    waaayyyy too small.

I got this off of Facebook Marketplace - my first FB marketplace purchase.

It doesn't nearly fit, so I'm going to try to resell it on the listings.

My fit needs: projected, immediately projected, slightly narrow, fob with tall roots (functionally even), very close set, very center full.

I understand why the chantelle bra is considered a dupe of panache. Wide but with a rounded shape. I like the panache bra but the height is much shorter. This is good since the chantelle is so high and it shows through shirts that aren't high cut, so that gives me more options for work. However, for actual working out I think I'll probably prefer the chantelle since it feels more secure and goes with my tall roots and shape changes better
