For the last couple of nights, I've had these spells of pain that last one to two hours. It is like a radiating pain that starts in my breasts and goes down below them a few inches. At first I thought it was a horrible new form of heartburn, but then why would my breasts feel tender at the same ... time? They feel tender, and heavy. It also feels worse when I lay down, especially on my side, and definitely when I lay on my stomach. What seems to help is ibuprofen and massaging my sides and underneath my breasts.
The only reason why I think the pain has something to do with my breasts is that last night I remember that I had the same kind of pain for a couple of days… almost exactly a month ago. And I'm about to start my period. So maybe it has to do with my cycle. It also didn't start until I got new bras and stuff. The first time I had an episode like this, I was wearing a bra, and I thought maybe the band was too tight. However yesterday when it woke me up in the middle of the night, I hadn't been wearing a bra for hours.
If it continues I'll probably get it checked out by my GP, if it continues. It sucks and it's actually kind of scary and disruptive, because I don't know why it's happening and all I can do is wish the pain away until the ibuprofen or whatever kicks in. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else

Nsm, I wear 28JJ in Ewa Michalak as a reference and I have a "shallow" shape. So, yes, it definitly exists in larger sizes as well. The term shallow is first of all relative. One can be shallow compared to the average bra in the size, the average breast in that size etc, but also, what is shallow? Wider and less projection than average? Just less projection than average? Taller base etc?
As I've gone bigger I've also gone deeper and narrower. Still the same super tall base, but bras has started to have way too wide wires. I'm nowhere near the problems those who considers themselves deep and narrow in my size range, but, I still have these issues.
In my experience this is a shape that in the larger cup sizes is more common among younger women with firmer breasts, which might explain why it is less common in our sizes. Gravity tends to do it's job and slowly change the shape to be less shallow...
You definitely have shallow breasts. I have them too at a 30G, which although not as large as you is still much bigger than most shallow breasts.
It seems to be that once you get over the volume of about a 32E/30F shallow breasts are harder to identify, because at a certain point the tissue has to go somewhere so they do still project below the shallow section. Wires also get much wider as cup sizes go up, so with larger shallow breasts you won't have a wide base like the smaller ladies have.
