I'm starting to feel like a plus-sized Barbie. I might be losing inches, but then I am gaining them back in my boobs. Re-migration? Raging hormones? Ugh!

I'm starting to think I will never find a bra that fits. They all feel too small in the wire but too deep in the cups since mine are too soft and have no volume....bras just go all wrinkly and gap at the top.. but yet the wires are always too small and poke into ... the migrated tissue. It gets frustrating sometimes. After losing 200lbs, I'm all skin and I can't even find a bra that fits. Frustrated today.
The best thing I could find was Curvy Kate's Thrill me and the 28J band was fine but a cup too small...so I wanted the 30J since I am between bands anyway, and they only go up to the J, but I can't find it any where anymore anyways. Grr.

The Showgirl serious runs about two or three cups smaller than their unpadded cups.
Congrats on the weight loss, but -hugs- on unable to find the propwer size. What you need is bras more shaped for bottom heavy breasts. Are you saying that while the cups are too deep, the wires are too small? Have you tried the Panache Andorra? I heard that has wide wires.
This is funny. I just was looking up the CK "desire" bra and saw your review, deciding against that bra since your issues with it sounded similar to what I would dislike about it. So I came back to bratabase and saw your e-mail and realized you were the same person. :P It was gravatar or something. That was you, right? You were wearing a white bra in you sig pic. What is that? I was wondering. It looked nice.
I haven't tried the andorra but have looked at it before. I'm scared to order new bras because it costs so much to keep buying bras and not sending them back (the shipping costs as much as the bras half the time..it's not worth sending back.) I just keep ordering the curvy kates. I also tried some other brands like elomi but the bands don't go small enough anymore. I tried a panache back when my band was a 36 and that was a bust.. bra was super itchy and uncomfortable so I haven't gone back since. I don't have a store where I can try on bras here so I have to go straight off my measurements which are 1) hard to take accurately because I have so much extra skin. 2) My boobs are really empty and saggy and wide so nothing seems to work. The wrong bra will even make them look wrinkly. :( I'm 23.... this is a nightmare. I have spent well over a thousand bucks in the last year alone trying to find a bra and none have fit properly... Either because it's wrong for my shape or the size is way off. And/or the size changes again .. Luckily, my size won't change too much anymore.

Did Freya just UN-extend their newly extended Freya Deco size range to exclude 28GG ?!?!?
I was super pumped when I discovered that contrary to what my local boutique believed, Freya had recently extended their Freya Deco line to include 28GG. I was even more excited, when reading MissUnderpinning's blog, I was led to believe that the Freya Shape offerings ... would be available in 28GG.
However, having gotten my hands on a copy of the Freya catalogue (via the aforementioned local boutique) I discovered that Freya shape is not available in 28GG, so no multiway or longline for me. This was dissapointing, but I figured I would just wait for the Deco Honey Jade to come out, and then alter it into a multiway myself. However, going through Freya's website, it looks like they've gone back to excluding 28GG from ALL the Decos, including the basic line. WTF, Freya, whhhyyyy?
Please, someone tell me this is just a silly oversight on the website. The Jade will be available in 28GG, right?

NOOOOO! I was so excited about them adding a 28GG because I need a 30H in the deco (The 32GG Deco cups fit me well) and figured that adding a 28GG was progress in the right direction. I had a dream that one day I could have a 30H deco and 30HH longlines. This is such bad news for everyone GG+! :'( I'm so disappointed in Freya. They would make so much money if they made the Deco, Longlines, Halfcups and Swimwear up to a J or even K cup! I don't understand why they don't. . .
I wonder if the site/catalogue is incorrect. Just I happened to be looking on the Freya website and they only had the Gem half cup as going up to a F cup.. Oh wait, hang on, does the half cup in this only go to a F?? I'm confused now. Anyway, hope they don't go back on increasing their half cup size range. :(

What kind of bra makes your boobs look smaller and higher? That's the kind of bra I want. I'm too young to have these saggy boobs. Why can't they be pert and cute and, most importantly, not mess with my wardrobe?
Particularly when the clothes that I love look best on waif-like bodies, and I just look like ... a tent in them. They just weren't designed for my topography. Not many things are, it seems.
Every now and then I get in one of those funks where I hate my body and none of my clothes feel right and I wish I looked like someone else. Blahhhhh. Anyone else ever get those?

Hugs. Many of those waif-like people wish they had curves. Just because you can't wear shapeless clothes and look great doesn't mean you can't look great in clothing with some shape! Which is, you know, why different styles exist.
I'm over 50 and _I'm_ too young to have saggy boobs, but I've had them ever since I was a pup, so there ya go. Back in my day we didn't have well-fitting bras (we use coconut shells and watched hand-crank television too). Find a great bra and a great fitted top and people will be wishing they looked like you.
I get the most lift in my Freya Decos, although they don't really make my boobs look smaller. I feel insecure and saggy in any other bra (even though I'm 19 and not saggy, it's just a body image issue). Have you tried any Polish bras? They make your boobs up front and minimized from the side. Cleo also gives great lift and a round shape. I haven't tried these bras, but judging from how they look on other people you might want to try the Cleo Alexa or Panache Jasmine. It's frustrating when bras don't work well with your shape or size, but I promise that they are out there and you will find them and be very happy when you do!
I can totally relate to the tent-like thing. Many current trends just aren't bust-friendly. Flowy tops without waist definition are pretty much a no-no for busty girls. They will make you look 5-10 pounds heavier. When you find out what works on your shape though, you feel soooo great! I'm not sure what your body shape is, but busty shapes in general look best in form-fitting clothes. Now I know we can't all afford a tailor or even BiuBiu and Urkye which aren't THAT expensive, but I'm a broke college kid so having a wardrobe full of those clothes is out of my personal budget. Anyways, on a limited budget that's forced to shop at say Ross, TJ Maxx and Thrift stores; Jersey and stretchy fabrics look the best on busty bodies because they can fit the bust and the waist in generic sizes. It might be tempting to jump on the latest fashion band wagon, but buying clothes that really flatter YOUR body is the first step towards not only accepting, but loving your body.
And yes, I totally get those wishing I had a different body feelings sometimes. But then I usually remind myself how much I love my body and how good I look in certain clothes :).
I feel like I'm totally rambling, but I hope I'm helping in some way :)

I have noticed that the backs of my Freya bras ride up a bit after wearing. I probably should have gone for 30Fs instead of 32Es, but the support in the front of the bra felt so much more secure than what I was used to wearing, that I thought they were tight enough.
A quick search on the internet shows ... a few methods to help with this - reducing stretch (by sewing a ribbon along the band, or just sewing along the band to prevent it from stretching), or by shortening the band (either by cutting the band or folding it over and sewing it in place).
Does anyone have any experience with these methods of altering bra bands? Is one preferable to another?

I have altered a bra that was way too big in the band for me with the ribbon method. Umm... I did NOT like the end result! Sure enough, the band was a good length afterwards, but the stiff and tight nature of the ribbon didn't really go well with my body. It felt really restrictive and it cut in in a non-flattering manner.
I would recommend altering the band by ripping off the hook and eye closure from both sides with a seam ripper and cutting off the length that you don't need. This is for sure a more lengthy option time-wise, but I genuinely believe you would feel happier with it in the long run. I have a half-altered bra (meaning that I've started altering it, sewed the hook and eye closure back on again, and realized I need to cut off more than I thought) that really seems promising and I will pick it up again when I have time!
Thanks! I will look into doing that. When you cut off the extra length, do you tailor the remaining strap down so it is the same height as the hook and eye closure, or just reattach?

I'm asking this because I'm shying away from exercising simply because it hurts so much. I've tried the Panache Sport (5021) and it doesn't work for me, I've tried the Freya Active Underwire Sports (4392) and it doesn't work for me (it *could* work in a different size but I am hesitant that it will) ... and now I've also tried the Shock Absorber Active Multi Sports (4490) which does not work for me either. I won't go into details of why they don't work for me unless someone asks me (it would be a lengthy explanation and I feel like it's a waste of space if no-one is interested in why).
Anyway... Do you find that you exercise less than what you would've liked to because you are in pain in your current sports bras?

Yes! I've also read about your issues with the sports bra, and I'm really sorry you can't find one that works.
Now I rarely work out honestly, but the past few weeks I've started again. Previously, I did a lot of sports, but my boobs were really firm and I just wore an elastic sports "bra" (I was a 30DD) and had no problem.
Being a 32-30H now, I really needed a sports bra, but it wasn't until today I actually tried my panache sports for working out - what a huge difference! I absolutely and definitely feel more motivated to go to the gym, now that I have a proper sports bra.
(The reason why I hadn't used it for sports yet, is that I use it as my everyday bra, but I've bought a new panache sport + other bras that fit, so I've now retired my old one to an actual sports bra!)
I'm so jealous... I love football and I'm playing in the local football team so I really need a good sports bra.

I want to buy my mum an ewa for her birthday, but I'm having trouble deciding what to get.
I wanted to get her an S but the wires look a bit too narrow, does anyone know how wire width is different in maybe a CH?
She is usually a 32F/FF, and has soft pendulous boobs, she also has problems with by high gores, so is difficult to buy for any suggestions will be appreciated.

Please put this *under sizing and fit* ? :)
She is 32f/ff in what bras/brands?
In eea bras chp has widest wires.
Here's a great post by izzy that might help.
http://voluptuouslythin.wordpress.com/
Done :)
She's currently wearing a mix of 30 f, ff and 32 e,f, ff. I try to help her with fit but she's my mum, she thinks she knows best haha.
She has 31" under bust, standing bust 35/36" bent over 39/40". A 30FF in Freya unpadded balcony-plunge, 32F in debenhams, 30G M&S with an extender.
I read Izzy's post, seems to be marginally wider with the CHP, I'm swayed towards that.

Ok so we know there can be breast fat migration. But when we have glandular tissue migration I think it really does harm the natural shape of the breasts. I still think I have been even more hurt by wearing 34F Freya than the 36C-D-DD bras I used to wear. Because those Freya bras really goes against my shape. I ... think they dragged my boobs down.
When looking at me here (2007) you maybe wouldn't say she had her wires sitting on breasts but http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/546984_10151219460025540_1840740083_n.jpg
Last autumn same bra, same size: http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/576965_10151219700230540_245902890_n.jpg
One might think I had gained weight like a mad person, but I hadn't. And this is the way I think migration has worked for me.
My boobs are naturally in my armpits, but I cut them off and so they are pushed away for a while but then comes back with a new attack saying "hey, don't forget about us you stupid moron!". In the meantime I have pushed part of my boobs downwards and inwards in a very hurtful way.

Hi, girls,
just a quick question – what's wrong with this center gore?
Thank you for your answers

A few things actually :) first, it's to wide for your close set boobies. secondly, the cup is probably a tad too smll onyour bigger boob so it's pushing it's wire out, like boobs usually do in cups too small.
It could also be the wire tilt.
You can try bending that wire inward a bit to get it to sit flush.
But if it doesn't bother you whileyou wear it, it'snot a problem really :)
Why not ask as a fit request? Then future users will also be able to know the answer ;)

For crossdresser, maybe? On a light note, this may be good for shallow breasts. But then again, the bra band even rides up on the male model, I don't know how big the band is...and also, size S, M, L, XL? Bahaha this is amusing. :D
I think it's good! I don't believe bras should only be a female thing, more than I believe skirts should be a female thing. I've tried so hard to be allowed putting a bra on a guy with very perfect perky pointy boobs but I'm not allowed *sigh*

I feel your pain. I'm now a 36J. Nowhere near Barbie skinny, but I have lost 30 pounds. I was wearing a 38GG, which granted was the wrong size, but the cups at least contained my breasts until I started losing weight. Then I had quadboob. And the 36Js I have seem to be getting a little small in the cup. Aaaaaaaaah!
Me too!
I've lost 15 lbs, but my boobs are the same size or even bigger, and my underbust is 3 inches smaller.
My butt is still huge. It's like I've only lost weight in my waist and underbust! And then lots of remigration.
I was a 34G/GG probably - now I'm a 30HH or 32GG.
I still want to lose 30-40 lbs more, but I don't want to lose more inches off my underbust (simply because its easier to find band sizes 30 and up)
I used to be a 28-30E maybe when I was slim and fit and 40 lbs lighter. I can't imagine losing 40 lbs and not go down several bands sizes. But I want to stay at this band size cause its easier.
