Lift and shrinkage - a rant

What kind of bra makes your boobs look smaller and higher? That's the kind of bra I want. I'm too young to have these saggy boobs. Why can't they be pert and cute and, most importantly, not mess with my wardrobe?

Particularly when the clothes that I love look best on waif-like bodies, and I just look like a tent in them. They just weren't designed for my topography. Not many things are, it seems.

Every now and then I get in one of those funks where I hate my body and none of my clothes feel right and I wish I looked like someone else. Blahhhhh. Anyone else ever get those?

Hugs. Many of those waif-like people wish they had curves. Just because you can't wear shapeless clothes and look great doesn't mean you can't look great in clothing with some shape! Which is, you know, why different styles exist.

I'm over 50 and _I'm_ too young to have saggy boobs, but I've had them ever since I was a pup, so there ya go. Back in my day we didn't have well-fitting bras (we use coconut shells and watched hand-crank television too). Find a great bra and a great fitted top and people will be wishing they looked like you.

  • I get the most lift in my Freya Decos, although they don't really make my boobs look smaller. I feel insecure and saggy in any other bra (even though I'm 19 and not saggy, it's just a body image issue). Have you tried any Polish bras? They make your boobs up front and minimized from the side. Cleo also gives great lift and a round shape. I haven't tried these bras, but judging from how they look on other people you might want to try the Cleo Alexa or Panache Jasmine. It's frustrating when bras don't work well with your shape or size, but I promise that they are out there and you will find them and be very happy when you do!

I can totally relate to the tent-like thing. Many current trends just aren't bust-friendly. Flowy tops without waist definition are pretty much a no-no for busty girls. They will make you look 5-10 pounds heavier. When you find out what works on your shape though, you feel soooo great! I'm not sure what your body shape is, but busty shapes in general look best in form-fitting clothes. Now I know we can't all afford a tailor or even BiuBiu and Urkye which aren't THAT expensive, but I'm a broke college kid so having a wardrobe full of those clothes is out of my personal budget. Anyways, on a limited budget that's forced to shop at say Ross, TJ Maxx and Thrift stores; Jersey and stretchy fabrics look the best on busty bodies because they can fit the bust and the waist in generic sizes. It might be tempting to jump on the latest fashion band wagon, but buying clothes that really flatter YOUR body is the first step towards not only accepting, but loving your body.

And yes, I totally get those wishing I had a different body feelings sometimes. But then I usually remind myself how much I love my body and how good I look in certain clothes :).
I feel like I'm totally rambling, but I hope I'm helping in some way :)
