OK last week I received my Ewa Michalak Pl Black 70LL and Pl Stalówka 70M in the mail. They are gorgeous. Size especially in the 70M seems to be super close, the gore doesn't tack all the way but comes close. And in the 70M even when I press it flat ... it doesn't result in quadboob (does quadra in 70LL a bit). So I'm thinking 70M is probably my size in Ewa PLs.
But, as I discovered after enthousiastically wearing them immediately; my sternum isn't used to a tacking gore anymore and it hurts. Also, the straps kept falling off my shoulders.
Padding didn't really help, and I had tightened the straps on the Stalowka as much as they'd go (partially adjustable straps). This stopped most of the falling off, but not the hurting.
My new theory was that newness-of-tacking-gore plus the simple weight of my boobs was causing the pain. This suggested that the straps were not lifting enough in the center. Cue more center pull by hand, it seemed to help.
So, yesterday, I visited my mother who is very experienced with a sewing maching. I took the instructions for moving straps with me (http://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html), and because she had to work a couple of hours I set to removing the straps already.
Then, after she got back I put on the Stalowka and we set to finding the new strap position. Imagine our surprise... the design just does not allow for strap movement.
Here's a picture of what happens: (not optimal, but something) https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/48104_557371787620124_610604469_n.jpg
As you can hopefully see, my boob spills to the side like MEGA. It appears that the strap position on the side is a large part of keeping the boobies in place. So, the straps will be put back into their original place there.
What we did discover as probably part of the problem: the straps start all the way to the side on the back as well! This is a cause of at least falling straps. Here's a picture of the straps on the PL Black: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/313830_557371790953457_1314708628_n.jpg (yes I am holding the straps in my hands because they're loose at the front there)
My mom will be reattaching the straps today or tomorrow for me, and will move the straps on the back more towards the center. Hopefully, this will help! Wednesday I will get the chance to try them on again, fingers crossed!
Hey cake_mimic maybe this story is nice to add on the blog? Especially with pictures before alterations, these pictures, and after alterations?
Maybe plunges aren't meant for me though... I'm thinking of snagging a cheap fullcup or balconette in 40K (huge leap sister size of 32M) and do a band altering. Maybe it'll fit better...
oh, and we'll be contacting a local lingerie woman who started out with custom-bra-making workshops, made her own lingerie brand and is supposedly still doing the rare custom size request. My mom has done a workshop with her way in the past but especially if the altering on the 70M doesn't work custom bras from her or at least the pattern so my mom can make them would be awesome.
