I bought this on a whim from ebay because the design was so pretty. Freya unlined bras in my calculated size 30F tend to run very large in the cup even though the shape is perfect. As I somehow still haven't learned my lesson, I ordered this in 30F without thinking, but I was pleasantly surprised that the cup wasn't super huge! There is only a manageable amount of wrinkling at the top. If I aggressively swoop & scoop, my bigger side can almost completely fill the cup. I'm so happy with the fit, after I had to alter another Freya bra cup to make it not look ... outrageously large. I have even fullness, narrow roots with slight projection, and lots of Freya bras have great shape for me. As for the band, my ribcage measures 29" and this is perfectly snug. Lots of people say Freya bands run loose, which is probably true since I find many 30 bands too tight compared to this one. Anyway I'm really glad I stumbled upon this bra. Contemplating whether I should try to hunt down the matching panties...

Amazingly comfortable. Soft smooth fabric, but kind of a "young" print (does that make sense? I don't know, but white with soft blue bubbles and light blue lace reminds me of babies). I prefer either loud funky prints or super sex appeal (black/sheer/lace).

It is shallow. Not Freya Starlet Vertical Seam shallow, but much more so than a balcony or plunge style. Shallow at the IMF, shallow at the gore. I mean, serious wrinkles from the center to the bottom of the cup from my projected boobs demanding more room. Over time my boobs would always push this bra out of the way to sit where they wanted, ... and I'd get wrinkles and quadding and all sorts of bad fit. But when I first put it on... hello cakes on a plate! My boobs looked amazing! I've never managed to get this sort of rounded hills cleavage before (without hiking up straps painfully tight). If only this bra would stay in place (blame my boobs - they're short, projected and firm enough to demand more bottom/center space than the bra allows).

A major pro for this bra: Despite the wider wires, they never dug in. Maybe because they're shorter? Maybe because the bra has a "side sling" panel than changes how it sits on the side? I always got painful red marks from Freya halfcups and Panache bras that would dig in to my unprotected ribs (I have narrow rooted boobs that sit on the front of my chest, and my sides have no cushion) - but I never got that pain from this bra. Pleasantly surprised.

  3. Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223)

    Didn't fit

    Measurements for 30F

    Stretched Band - 30"
    Band Length - 25.5"
    Cup Width - 6"
    Cup Depth - 9.5"
    Wire Length - 10"
    Cup Seperation - 1"
    Strap Width - 0.75"
    Hooks - 2

I've been searching for bras with this shape for a very long time now. And hassling Freya about when they would start making them. Finally they have, but it's a real shame they only start at a 30 because this is possible to make and still be supportive in 28. As well as larger cups. Vertical seams like the ones on this bra are much more supportive and give a better shape than the traditional diagonal seamed bras Freya puts out. These give ... better uplift, projection and rounded shape.

I plan on taking this bra in so it will fit more like a 28. For now I wear it on the smallest hooks and it does ride up my (loosely measured 26" ) back throughout the day. I prefer my bands unstretched to be close to what I measure at anyhow, so 2" knocked off this will put it at 23/28" and I'm inbetween those numbers.

    PROS:
    Cute style and fabric.
Supportive shaping without being thick or rigid (FYI, my nipples, though small, still show through this this "lining". This is not a true padded bra and it will not add anything to your size.)
Decorative trim on top of cups is flat and doesn't show through shirts, neither do seams. (Unless of course your shirt is skin tight, then it will.)
Band fits "true to size" - meaning at it's maximum stretch it measures what size it is. (size 30 = 30" )

    CONS:
Itchy fabric, something in a stretch satin would have been more comfortable, as the straps are a mesh type of lace, they scratch the skin.
Cups run a bit small IMO, I was able to try this on in store in E and F, but the E dug in.

    *ETA*
Band is riding up in side view shots. I'm not sure if it's the fabric, it sort of looks this way on the model too, but there are horizontal wrinkles in the fabric where the seams meet. It must just be a sewing flaw. Of course I didn't have it when I tried on the E, but that's because I was stretching the fabric out completely and very obviously spilling over the tops of the cups (sometimes I wonder if buying this instore is the reason since so many people try it on...it's probably stretched out by the time you purchase it!). Also when I stretch my arms forward (like I did in the front shot) it makes the cups look too big, though they're not. Having tried this on in store in E and F, the F fit better. It is more of in between sizes I'd say. If there was such a size as EE or Barely F this would fit better. The difference in fabric between this bra and the Daphne style causes this one to sit a bit differently on me.

    *Update 10-2012*
The band has been altered to a 26, same alteration that was done for the Daphne. The fit is a lot better. My only complaint so far with these alterations is that I need to make an additional one of putting a dart in the gore due to the "flat" shape the band now takes on from fitting more snug. That and the cups are pretty far apart, but it's a lot better than before as a 30. Unstretched the band now measures 22.5", stretched it is 26.5", rougly 1" larger than my ribcage.

Sooo, I was wondering if you were going to add English translations to any of your well illustrated reviews? Google Translate, as we all know, is not the best at translating. I hesitate to ask for the translation, though, because you already do so much for the brafitting community! Please consider my comment a mild pre-vote, for some future survey you may administer, okay? No pressure!

    • 2

learningaboutbras I would, gladly. The only thing is that would eat a lot of my time and that is already very limited. My life is currently hectic, I am raising two teenagers almost on my own, my father still mourns his late wife and my mother, I have my Masters' degree in progress and I work full time. That really leaves not much time for writing the reviews in two languages :( I will definitely consider translating in the future, but for now it is unfortunately out of the question.

    • 2

However if there are any Poles or Polish-speaking ppl here who would we willing to translate for some of the goodies I review (no, I don't keep all of it, the majority gets moved around to new owners) that would be a great thing.

    • 2

I was going to add a vote in favor of translations of your reviews, but I know you are EXTREMELY busy. :P THANK YOU for all you do here and and everywhere else in support of us bra wearers!!! šŸ˜Š

    • 2

Scharminkeltje , given your crazy busy schedule, I forbid you to add one more thing to your To Do List! English translations of your Polish bra reviews are pretty much the last thing you should be thinking about. I wish you the best of luck as you work your way through your Master's program, continue working full-time, participate here at Bratabase, and bring up your siblings!

This bra feels like it was custom-made for me. It has great lift and gives a nice "rounded hills" look. I feel completely and securely supported in this bra. I only wish it came in unadorned nude and black too, so I could wear it with everything.

Am I the only one who finds Freya cup sizes are all over the place? In their soft cup bras I swim in 30Es, but need to size up to 30F for their padded half-cups. It makes buying online a bit of a challenge.

Update: I realized I was tightening the straps too much and they were digging into my shoulders. When I loosened them the cups were suddenly too big! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    • Candid has such a cute pattern :-) So glad you found one that fits! I think your fit experience is similar to mine; one or two sizes larger in halfcups than unlined.

    • I also wear 3 different sizes in freya - 30E in the deco, 30F in the unlined styles, 30FF in halfcups. I'm short and narrow rooted, center heavy ans projected. The halfcups want a wider shallower boob, and deco leaves 2/3 of my breasts uncovered (but if i size up i get gaping due to my short projection).

    • I also wear 3 different sizes in Freya, depending on the style/model. You are definitely not alone........

Iā€™m glad to hear Iā€™m not the only one having sizing issues with Freya.

I bought this off of eBay and was worried it wouldn't fit me but it is near perfect. I have slight gaping on the top of one side but my one breast is smaller than the other and this happens a lot. At the end of the day I'd rather gape a bit than quad. Loving the vertical seams as a FoT.

One of the challenges with being FoT is finding vertically seamed bras that are unique in colour and/or lovely in design. That said, the hot coral and shell design of the bra are what attracted me. The thick straps are a bonus.

One of my rare eBay "wins" haha. I'm usually not so fortunate but bratabase is a great resource for making as best a bet as I can.

I like the 30 band so much more!

I do think I'm going to post a fit check here or on ABTF.
I feel very supported and lifted in this. The wires are a hare too wide, but the cup depth is great!

When scooping and swooping, I usually push my underarm fat into the cups. Is that ok to do?
I was wondering because with my 30E longline, 8.5" depth is fine but I don't get absolutely everything scooped.
I also scoop everything into my 8" depth Deco bras, and if I didn't they would be too large.
I was partly wondering about this because I ordered Comexims at or above 8.5". I'm ... guessing two are 9", but mildy shallow, and one I ordered at about 8.3",8.5 tops. I definitely like the appearance of the deeper ones because my underarm fat is concealed in the cups, but I don't know if that's what I'm supposed to be doing https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" />

Anyway, gorgeous design as I said with the 28FF. I think the band kept me scooped better, but this one is much more comfortable.

I feel like this bra is ideal for average to wider roots with maybe average projection.
The cups don't seem shallow to me, just semi wide. This IS a 30F, but my 30E Hopscotch has wider wires also, so I'm guessing it's just a thing with Freya longlines and possibly padded half cups(haven't tried them but they look similar aside from the band).

Cup separation is great-very close. Straps are closer together than the 28FF, by just a little bit, which works better for me.

Band is firm and seems sturdy to me. That's what I love most about longlines: I've never had one that didn't feel supportive, even my 32D's still feel amazing in the band.

The half cup is also a true half cup- it bothers me when brands release something called a half cup and it's clearly a full cup. I like unlined full cups, but it's still annoying.
Freya seems to not have a problem with that.

Material is nice and soft, very thin but still lined. Sort of similar to a lightly lined non winter jacket-without any heaviness.
I like Freya longline cups because they have a hard time standing up on their own when laid flat. They still give a great shape, but conform more to your shape rather than you having to conform to its shape- like the stiffer Decos.

Straps are fully adjustable, cups give a round, lifted shape. Seams do show just a tad under clothes but that doesn't bother me.
    And I think that's it! Overall, another great longline. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Thank you immodestmouse for swapping with me! ^_^

    Edit:

    I'm so sad. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I tried wearing this again (this is my 3rd time), and noticed there is empty space in the cups, mainly on the top sides, but a little bit in the top center of the cups also (not near the gore).

After trying my Comexims and Ewa, I'm realizing that 8.3-8.5" depth is best for me.
I'm beginning to recognize a pattern:
In bras with wider wires(such as this at around 5.5"),it seems to me that I need deeper cups.
Even in my Freya Hopscotch Longline in 30E, has 8.5" depth, but the wires are a tad wider than I need, and I occasionally notice a slight quad (especially after Scoop&Swoop).
In my Comexim Joy Longline, which measures very similarly to this, I have the same exact problem with upper side gap.
The cups are too wide and a smidge too tall. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
My narrow wired bras between 8 and 8.4" depth, fit perfectly. I think i may be able to go up to 8.6" in padded, but that's about it, at least with wires under 5.5".
With wider wires I appear to need more deptg, but it's really that the bra isn't working for me.

I really love this bra, and I looove the shape and silhouette it provides, but I don't know if I can deal with having to scoop and swoop all day. The gap is somewhat visible under even a looser t-shirt. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I'm probably going to try it one more time, but I'm up to my biggest size of each month (yay shark week at 37"), and it's still gapping up top.
    Ah...if only I could find a 30E :, ( I'm so sad.
It seemed to fit fine before, but I wore it all day and each time I couldn't stay scooped.
    It was hopeless.
    I guess I'm just slightly too small. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    Edit2:
    Found the likely issue:
Cups measure 8.5 in center, and a whopping 9.5 on top.
I'm shallow on top, functionally FoB.. I definitely need a cup down. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

(sorry for my english, i'm french!)

I ordered this bra to have a black basic bra but i've been quite astonished. The bra looks like really more pretty in real than on photos on website. There's several superimpositions of mesh which create a pretty diamond-shape patern, there's a little lace on the top of the cup and there's little black and very very bright orange ribbons on the straps and on the center gore.

The shape of the cups fits very well my even breast, and i think it can works for FoB breast.

This bra makes a pretty and discreet low-cut. The holding (is it the good word??) is ... good, the fabric is comfortable (it's not itchy), the band is quite firm and the wires stop low.

It's a very good everyday bra, which gives me a pretty round shape under clothes.

Iā€™m trying to find my correct fit with freya, I have tried 30e which seemed slightly snug in the cup with the offbeat style. This one seems oddly pooled at the top of the bra. The fit doesnā€™t seem to do well with my breast type. Perhaps someone with more upper pole fullness may do better? Or maybe less upper fullness? Iā€™m unsure as I thought I had upper fullness as I have augmented breasts. Freya

I think it looks pretty good on you. And the size looks on point. I also have augmented breasts, but unfortunately Freya doesnā€™t work with my shape. I had a similar Freya bra with the same cut, and it felt too closed off on top. I felt the band sewn across the upper cup lace didnā€™t allow the lace to expand properly. Freya also gave me way more of a pointy fit, not my favorite. If you like the over all fit in the band and wires, maybe a Freya cut that has a regular lace along the top might work better?

    • 1

Thank you Happy2BraShop . I wore it for a bit today to see how I felt. Itā€™s just too uncomfortable. I have a Chantelle c chic plunge 32DD that feels more comfortable. I think Iā€™m considering trying 32ddd (e). I donā€™t like the pointy boob look either but I love unlined and sheer looks. Just rounder ones hahaha. Let me know if you have any bras youā€™d recommending to try on!

    • 1

Neonblue89 I wore Chantelle C Chick back in the day, in size 65G/30DDDD. It gave a great rounded profile! I ended up going with Polish brands because I need narrow wires. My personal favorite is Ewa Michalak, especially her unlined bras. They make up the bulk of my bra collection. I just never had any luck with UK or American brands, so unfortunately I donā€™t have any other recommendations.

This is the most beautiful bra, but also the smallest 30F I have ever tried.

From material to appearance, it's all pretty gorgeous. The design is just a perfect match for my pale skin. The band fits comfortably and the wire is also sturdy.

The center gore is 2.3 cm wide at top, 5.7 cm at bottom and 7.0 cm tall. Although it is too wide for a cleavage, but it looks just elegant and doesn't poke. It's also a friendly fit for splayed boobs.

Unfortunately the cups are only 23.5 cm deep. Normally for a 30F unpadded bra this measurement will be over 24 cm. I feel my boobs are forced onto the ribcage, squeezed out of the cup side and quadded at the cup top.

I wanna to size up to 30FF, but I'm not sure. I have so many bad experiences with Freya bras just because of their shallow and close cup tops. Any suggestions below are welcome.

    • I think it's not an ideal shape for you. Its cups are so closed off on top, they accentuate your bottom fullness and don't make justice to upper fullness.

    • Orange_Kate
Actually I think this bra is too small rather than a shape mismatch for me. The bottom is also not round filled.

    • Oh it is beautiful! Freya has some of the most beautiful soft cup bras, but oh man they never work for me no matter what size I try. They always look so pointy. They make me feel like Iā€™m wearing a 1950ā€™s bullet bra lol.

    • Happy2BraShop
I have also tried Fantasie Side Support before, this model has much pointier cups than Freya unpaddeds. It even didn't work very well on my conical shape.

I think Freya soft cups are more likely to fit extremely FoB boobs. The unlined Fancies cut just like this bra is a seldom one that can generally provide a good fit for most people. So I choosed it.

I guess I'm wearing 30Fs now. My 30DDs fit more like half cups. My 30Es were demi cups. THIS 30F at least, gives more full coverage and I'm completely filling it out. The wires are pretty wide, which is a new one for me as I'm very wide rooted and it's been hard to find bras wide enough for me.
The elastic on the straps are very wide and the gore is surprisingly narrow and comfortable (I need a very narrow or low gore for my close set boobs).
My boobs have a very big root - both wide and tall and the volume is very spread out and overall shallow.

This was a giveaway that I was somewhat iffy on, because the last Freya Half Cup (Kiyoko) was a fail for me, but it looked like maybe it was different enough that it would work. That, plus my size and volume change last fall that made me think that maybe it would work. As a giveaway, I really had nothing to lose.

Spoiler alert: this bra does not work for me, but itā€™s *so close*!

Visually, this bra is stunning. I adore the print and details like the print extending onto the straps, the neon yellow bow and geometric dangle charm at the gore, and neon yellow bows ... at the straps. The straps are pretty thick, too. The print does cover the band as well. And the print is very colourful...black base with what I think is flowers but like an artsy style. Thereā€™s a tiny bit of black loop edging on the top of the cups. Is there a proper term for that?

The feel of this bra is very smooth and silky and I think it is actually made from spacer fabric. Itā€™s kind of squishy and not terribly thick. Itā€™s a 3 part cup with 2 vertical seams, slightly diagonal. I really like the feel of it.

Now on to the fit. My shape is tallish but shallow roots (functionally short), narrow to average width, and fairly projected and pendulous. My tissue is soft, center full and is even to fob...I think that my volume is pretty close to even, but I lean more fob functionally because my upper tissue isn't very full despite the volume being fairly evenly distributed. Iā€™m not sure, but I think that my breasts might fit into the ā€œlong and leanā€œ description. I typically need lots of immediate depth and average apex depth. To a degree, my soft tissue is malleable which can give the occasional appearance that they are fuller on top, but thatā€™s just them being tricksy.

This bra is surprisingly narrow for a Freya, however despite the 3 part/2 seamed cups, I simply donā€™t have enough immediate projection. I can feel it wanting to slip down my chest out of my imf pretty quickly. Itā€™s a little bit better if I use the tightest hooks. I also have a bit of a compressed look. This is likely because I have tried to tighten the straps a little bit to minimize the small gaps. I also think that itā€™s a bit tall...it is not giving me cakes on a plate cleavage. Itā€™s not really looking like a half cup on me at all.

*If* I use the tightest hooks, I *do* feel like it is a better fit. I feel it is a better shape and more flattering, but it is still a bit shallow and I donā€™t know if itā€™s going to slip from my imf with long term wear. I have not tried it, but in the short term, I think that itā€™s going to slip. I donā€™t think that going down in the cups would help at all.

I think that I have to experiment on a non working day so that I can get a better feel for it, though I expect to be resisting it. I have been having a really hard time with this bra because I like *so much* about it, but itā€™s simply not the best fit.

That is a super cute print!

    • 1

Right?! Iā€™m still going to give it a try before I decide whether to list it again or not.

    • 2

This looks like it fits you better (at least visually) than all other recent bras you've tried.

    • 1

      Really brasaremean ?

    • 2

It's a lovely bra and appears to fit well. Pictures can be deceiving, though.

    • 1

Thanks everyone. I think that itā€™s a better fit with the straps looser and the band tighter. I am definitely going to try it out for a few hours. But itā€™s definitely not a half cup on me.

    • 2

I think it looks like a good fit *in pictures* too, but I've had a freya half cup and it was shallow at the wire, so I can imagine what you mean.

    • 2

Yeah Wilderness1 ... itā€™s tricky. It looks ok, but actually wearing it for more than a few minutes is more telling. And compared with the fit of the Kiyoko, this is more coverage and less cakes on a plate. But itā€™s still a nice bra. Itā€™s possible that it would fit better in a 28F/FF.

    • 1

Wow, what a gorgeous bra!! Looks beautiful on you even if you say the fit is not ideal. Also, you have a lovely way to describe your shape, it feels like we are boob twins when I read it. ā˜ŗļø I think the bra is so nice and pretty that giving it another try is worth it to see how you feel in it.

    • 1

Awww, thanks braluv! After all the comments, I will definitely have to give it a good try before totally writing it off on the fit.

    • 1

So I wore it for several hours last weekend m only, in my apartment only, and only with some bottoms on because I was helping a friend learn to measure her bras. I feel like I was ok in terms of it not slipping from my imf horribly, but it did chafe my right underarm somehow. Itā€™s possible itā€™s only because I was wearing it alone and my right arm was rubbing something on that side which irritated it, though under a shirt, it might be ok. So Iā€™m going to try that this weekend. If itā€™s still bothering me, Iā€™ll list it, otherwise, Iā€™ll try to make it work.

    • Calluna I saw that you listed it. So sorry it didn't end up working out.

    • I did. I wore it all day today and it left spots on my skin from the wire tips because itā€™s a better fit (ie feels like itā€™s not going to slip) with the tightest hooks even though itā€™s comfortable on the loosest ones. I took it off when I got home and put a different one on.

  13. Edina Longline (1153)

I LOVE this bra. The longline style band is comfortable and supportive, and the seaming on the cups (vertical rather than the typical diagonal) give me good lift and shape. The cups are padded enough for modesty, but don't add a lot of size. The retro styling makes me feel supported but sexy.

This is, without question, my favorite of the Freya bras I own, and I will definitely be checking out their other longline styles.

Bear in mind that there are only two columns of hooks, so there is less allowance for the band stretching out. I think that the fact that there is a lot more band than other bras will help mitigate any stretching, but it hasn't been long enough for me to know for sure.

    • Did you find you had to go up a cup in this bra? I just got one in a 30E but am unsure of it's coverage, it seems to be rather short, even though it is a half cup style. And I notice you wear an E in the Deco but F in this. Is that your usual size?

    • I find I have to go down a cup in the Deco, but that the Edina runs closer to true size. However, the Keisha, which is another padded halfcup, I definitely need the FF. The half cups do tend to be low cut, but I feel pretty secure in the F. I tried on multiple sizes of the Nieve longline in stores, and the FF was definitely too big for me, which is why I went for the F in the Edina.

I LOVE the look of these bras, and they are comfy for lace! Sadly, they are not for me. This cut really accentuated the relatively small size difference between my breasts. It fit one near perfectly but had much wrinkling and empty space in the other which looks weird under clothing.
My take is that the wires were just too wide and deep U for me -IMF mismatch-and a little too closed off at the top for my shape (which I'm still trying to determine, tbh).
I think this bra may work well for those with wider/shorter roots than me, with even fullness and immediate projection.

    • I'm sorry this didn't work for you, Freya's bras are a hit or miss for most people, myself included. Good luck finding A bra that fits!

Thank you! :) Me too - it's such a pretty bra. I tried it in 30E as well hoping it would fit but alas it was far, far worse... Simultaneously too small and large... Still trying to figure that one out! Lol
I'll add and review that one soon.

Oh my Hufflepuff heart, this colour!!! I have seen this particular bra on a few Instagram posts from the various boob accounts that I follow. Itā€™s been a long time since Iā€™ve tried a Freya, and I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever tried a high apex bra like this. Needless to say, aside from the Deco, I havenā€™t had much luck with Freya.

The lace is a vibrant mustard yellow and has a sort of bohemian aesthetic to the lace. The upper portion of the cup is sort of a muted geometric pattern. The shape, I would say, is like a triangle bra or bralette so a bit plungey. ... Sadly, itā€™s not compatible with my shape. Itā€™s partly that the cups have an elastic edge to them that cuts into my soft tissue, but itā€™s partly because I kind of have taller roots, even if they are shallow. Now would a larger cup have fit better? Maybe, but no point in trying because that lace would NOT lay flat.

So another beautiful autumn gem of a bra that sadly is not for me.

    • That is such an unusual colour for a bra! I have the same kind of fit issues with bras that shape.. they just don't seem to work on me, and not because I have any upper fullness, but because of centre tissue (not as much in my recent size, but moreso when I was a bit bigger)

    • Itā€™s a great colour! Itā€™s available in a reddish wine colour. Both are lovely. Itā€™s just not a shape thatā€™s flattering on me.

    Fits

I have a thing about the Freya Deco. Itā€™s one of the first bras I bought locally from the specialty shop that used to be in my area. I bought the Spotlight in a 32DD which I thought fit at the time. I never had a band issue, and at the time I was not used to 30 bands as I am now, not was I swooping and scooping...I was leaning forward to put on and juggling and thought that was enough and what I was supposed to do.

I wore it like crazy. It felt like boob armour compared with some of my bras st the time, ... but I got amazing cleavage and the shape under tops was simply unbeatable. I later bought the matching briefs and was in polka dot heaven. I actually still have it, although it is pretty stretched out in the band and I donā€™t fit the cups anymore.

Last year in the summer, the shop that I had gotten the Spotlight from was closing to move out of town, and had a big 50% off sale to clear stock. At the time, I opted to try the 28FF, knowing that the band might be too tight, but wanting to gage the cup fit as itā€™s the sister size for the 30F, which was the size I was thinking about needing based on the fit of my Spotlight. Well I was pretty surprised that it was a really good fit, but as I was thinking, the band was a bit too tight. I could have gone with a row of extender hooks and probably been ok. At the time, I decided not to get it, because even though the green was stunning on me, I was really not a fan of the animal print that was the straps and trim details. That, and the fact that I was wearing my Ewa plunge then and getting as good cleavage, with a softer and lighter bra. And even at half price, it was still expensive. I do miss the green though... I think back to this bra often.

Which leads me to this lovely little blush number. I tried it in a few sizes: 28G, 30FF, and this one (30F). I initially tried the 28G thinking that maybe the band was a bit too tight in the 28FF prior because the cup was too small. In my mind, I knew that wasnā€™t right, as the cup was pretty perfect in the 28FF, but I also knew that I had begun to see an increase in volume/tissue/size late summer or early fall, so I was not sure if I would need a larger cup size or not. I also picked the 30FF with the knowledge that the 28G would be too tight.

I could not get the 28G done up and switched to the 30FF. Surprised that I had a bit of empty space in the cups, I opted to try a cup size down and see if the 30F would fit.

It did and did not. The band tightness was good. I coul use loosest or middle hooks. Cup volume was better. Pretty perfect. The colour was nice too (a little bit pinker than the pictures show). The fabric covering the cups was super silky and smooth although this one was snagged. The thing that bothered me most about this fit was the cup height and cup edge. It seemed taller and maybe more open than the other ones I had tried. The top edge of the cups were visible under my thinner shirt and the camisole they had there to try. It was not quite as bad as the Kiyoko half cup I tried, but it wasnā€™t far off. If I canā€™t wear it under light tops, then I have no use for it as I would want it for lighter tops where I need a nude/fleshy/light coloured bra. Both fitters really loved the fit of the Deco on me though.

I donā€™t know if itā€™s just the colourway of production, or if itā€™s just the larger cup size, since my 32DD never did that, and and I donā€™t recall the 28FF being visible under my camisole either. Iā€™m not super broken up about it as I was trying the Passionata Brooklyn in 65G again and I generally preferred the lighter feeling of it compared with the Deco as a summer t shirt bra, though I had minor quadding in it and no 65H to try (I might try 70G even though band is loose, just to see how the cups fit).

Anyway, I still really love the Deco and fit, though since I can get same fit from Ewa and Comexim without the boob armour, I will probably continue to pass the Deco up unless I find a really good deal. Plus, Bravissimo Satine is supposed to be good like Deco but better, but now I question my Satine size.

I am glad I tried it again, and maybe one day I will have a new Deco, but now isnā€™t that time.

I believe this would be a great fit for someone who is narrow and projected. Me, I am wide and somewhat shallow to average projection I think. The width is actually great for me but it is too deep. I think a 30e would be too narrow and too closed on top. I have tall roots and sadly the plunges are just a shape mismatch for me. It's too bad because the color way, the embroidery, and the adorable neon yellow feather charm in the middle is just gorgeous.

How I love this botanical print! It looks beautiful on you :-) :-) Like you, the Freya plunges don't work for me either, but how I adore some of the botanical fabrics.

    • 1

I gave up on Freya plunges too. I can't fill the apex of the cup. If I size up a band and down a cup (and then take in the band) they fit for 2 weeks out of my cycle, but then I get major quadding for the other 2 weeks.

Try Bravissimo. I just got 2 styles that work. A plunge and a balconette. The balconette style is slightly loose on top, but the lace on that part of the cup is so fine it doesn't create visible bunching even with a thin t-shirt on!

    • 1

hi Onceuponababe, the Freya padded halfcups work for me and I love their prints, like Love4Pollinators :) I just need to remember to stay away from their plunges but sometimes it's hard to resist!!

    • Ooh! The feather detail! I have 2 Freyas on the way to me, so I hopefully can narrow down my size as itā€™s been a while since might last Freya plunge soft/unlined bra. I got a Pollyanna in 32DD about 8 years ago. When I try it now, cuts in as Iā€™m now swooping and scooping, and Iā€™ve gone down in my band size. And Iā€™m told my more recent Deco fits in its own category. So Iā€™m looking at 28F, 30E, 30F...will have to see how the 28F Fancies plunge and 30E Kiyoko half cup work out. Iā€™ll keep this one in mind...

    • Calluna - cool! The halfcups are a better fit for me so I'd be up for swapping for that possibly!

    • renemy im a fan of basketball boobs so Iā€™m going to see if the Kiyoko half cup will work. I remember trying the Patsy half cup in fall 2016 and liking it but being unsure about my size in it because I was in 32DD at the time and that was huge on me. But Iā€™m also wasnā€™t swooping and scooping which would likely have aided in finding the right size. I think that I was in between the 30E and 30DD (swooping and scooping would have probably made the 30E fit. But Iā€™ve gone from 32 bands to 30, on average, so now I donā€™t know how the Freyas will fit in the band, which is partly why I got the 2 different sizes. Iā€™m not sure if the half cup will work because I need projection at the wire or it slips from my IMF. I didnā€™t know that TIL recently so even though I thought Patsy was good, itā€™s possible that it was not, actually. Iā€™m not going to have my bras until mid to late February, as theyā€™re being sent from England to my friend in Los Angeles. The order is expected to arrive between February 12-28. Iā€™m hoping itā€™s earlier since Iā€™m only in LA from the 15th-20th (with travel on those days). Iā€™m going to have to have my friend mail me if they donā€™t arrive while Iā€™m there. Had I known that it would take that long, Iā€™d have ordered a week earlier. Anyway, feel free to message me later next month regarding the half cup.

    • renemy I have a Freya mode padded half cup. I like the fit EXCEPT the outter layer of fabric gets weird puckers and the seams are THICK, So it shows through alot of tops. I'd like to try another model to see if it's any different, or try an unpadded half cup...just not sure what size because I like wires to be wider, near 13cm which is not what most 30DD are. I can alter bands though

I had been lusting after this bra from the moment it appeared - its based on the Fauve Chloe Vertical Seam (a gorgeous, elegant bra I tried on once and fantasized about ever since). So much more sensual than its balcony sister - the halfcup cut and vertical seam created a cakes on a plate sex appeal that the balcony version couldn't quite reach. The little polka dot blue bows could be overlooked - sure they're more whimsy than sexy, but they were small and unobtrusive. I was willing to take this bra or any of its sister cuts (Fauve Chloe, Fantasie Allegra) in any color, but ... I loved the basic black most of all. So the minute one appeared in my local Nordstroms Rack, I knew I had to have it. Finally, this sexy, seductive bra was mine!
    Alas...
I never got around to wearing it for more than half an hour at a time. Falling prey to the same problem I was plagued with in Freya halfcups - too wide wires painfully digging in to my uncushioned (and thus unprotected) side ribs -this bra became unwearable for me. I was willing to ignore the fact that it was too shallow, or that I got major quadding every time I breathed, but the pain in my sides was too much. It was as painful as a Panache bra (also unwearable for me due to firm wires that dig in). This surprised me because the Freya Marvel (also a shallow, wider bra) was never so painful. Perhaps its because the Marvel has that "side sling" sort of cut rather than a pure vertical seam. To be fair, this bra is probably a size too small (I wear a 30F in Freya balcony bras because they are so wonderfully deep, but fit a 30FF in halfcups - my EMs are all 65FF too) - sadly, this style is not made beyond an F cup to test if a different size would be a better fit.

If you love (or are at least not bothered by) freya halfcups, this bra should work wonders for you.

I'm quite pleased with this bra! It's super comfy, the Polka dots make me happy and the band feels like it isn't even there.

In fact, my only problem with the bra, isn't the bras fault. (As far as I know) It fits my right side perfectly, but my left doesn't perfectly fill the cup, so the rim shows a bit under shirts which is annoying. Maybe some fillers will fix that?

I'm even to fot; (mainly my right side, so I did worry that this cup might be too closed on top but for me it was fine). I think I'm not as shallow as this was ... made for, but it feels and looks fine so I'm not bothered.

The straps are wide, which is ok, but when I'm sitting curled up reading, the loopy edge on them rubs a bit. I'll probably get used to it. Part of me wonders if I got a size down, would the left fit better but would the right quadboob? If only I could try different sizes in a store!

For now this'll be my t-shirt bra, till I find one that really doesn't show under!

    • In my experience with this bra, the cup edge showed under shirts, too. Hope you find an easy solution to what I perceive is a design flaw. Best wishes!! Wacoal's La Femme and Lace Affair Contour bras hide perfectly under thin knits. And, their 32 band measures like a 30 band.....if you want other options ;-)

Love4Pollinators Oh thank you! I haven't tried Wacoal, but now I'll be on the lookout for those particular styles. And I'll remember to try a 32E. I actually just found there's a store an hour from me that carries this brand and some UK brands in my size, so I might just find something that works. :D

    • I SO hope you find something you love that also fits and hides effortlessly under thin knits.

The best strapless bra fit I have found of 4. That might not be saying a lot. But I have worn it out. It stays in place and there is minimal gaping.

My usual size is 30E, but I think 30F may be the best fit I get. The cups are tall and much too wide, but the amount the top seam cuts in is minimal compared with other strapless bras I have tried. Through some witchcraft it does stay firmly in my IMF.

No bra makes me look this busty. It's odd. I guess its the large moulded cups, in part. They disguise some fit issues. It sucks because suddenly I'm too busty for the tops I wanted to use a strapless bra with, like one with buttons up the front.

I figure I will use it with a dress I've been dying to wear and a few other outfits this summer. It is good enough.
