The Pearl is almost good on me. SO close in some ways, and yet so far. First things first: It's a beautifully made bra, with soft satin and embroidery and pretty little details everywhere. Fauve calls this "padded," but to me it feels more like a heavy lining — and I like that kind of design a lot.
The band is just a touch too tight, but it feels pretty firm and the base of the cups fit nicely. The wires hit just at the front of my underarm which means that I've finally found a bra where the wires don't sit on breast tissue. I can fill the ...bottom out nicely, and the gore is just a tiny bit too wide and high for my closely-set boobs. I'd live with it easily if the cup tops and straps weren't a disaster. The bra wants fullness up top, and I'm not nearly full enough. I suspect that the thick lined fabric would make adding a substantial dart difficult, and on top of all that, the straps are too widely set for my shoulders. I suspect I'd be pulling the straps up all day.
So, the Pearl is lovely and might be perfect for someone who's full on top, doesn't want deep cups, and can do wide-set straps. For me, it's the too big / too small problem again and I don't think a sister size will cut it... back it goes. Read more 131 more words
Of all the Fauve bras I've tried, this one came the closest to fitting me. The gore was flat, but I had some wrinkling in the bottom of the cups due to insufficient projection. It wasn't bad, but combined with the very pointy shape it gave me, I decided not to keep it. Straps were only half adjustable and I had them almost as short as they could go.
Like all Fauve bras I have tried thus far, there is insufficient projection in the bottom of the cup for me. I also find that the gore angles toward my smaller breast. The cups are slightly too large for me. It gave me a very pointy shape. Straps are only half adjustable and I had them adjusted as short as possible.
This was the first bra I purchased after being fitted, and I've had it for more than three years now, and for about two years I thought this was how a bra should fit.
Now I realize that the fitter should have done her job a bit better, since the band has always rode up a bit even before it stretched out after wearing and washing the bra for several years. I imagine that a 70FF would suit me better and be even more comfortable.
I love the eggplant-ish color and the semi subtle embroidery, and wish I could get my hands on this bra in my right size.
The Fauve Pearl Padded Half Cup Bra in 30F is black satin with pale pink embroidered dots on the cups, straps, and most of the bottom edge of the band. I have ten other Fauve half cup bras. Three are sheer; the other seven are what Fauve calls padded and what I would call lightly lined. All ten in my closet fit well.
I was surprised, therefore, to find the cups of the 30F Fauve Pearl gaped slightly at the top edge. There is just enough stiffness in the cups for them to hold their shape, so there is no wrinkling anywhere, not even at the very top edges. ...The difference in fit between the Pearl and my other Fauve half cups is distinct, however.
It turns out the Pearl's cups and center gore are much taller than in my other Fauves. This causes the gaping at the top and makes the straps feel like they are digging into the shoulder/armpit area. I am petite and small framed to boot. I expect the Pearl would suit someone in the 30F range if they were taller or had a longer distance from underbust to shoulder or were extremely full on top.
I owned this bra in a 32G and it was my most perfect fitting bra. I've now changed sizes and got it in the 32GG. The straps are a little farther apart on this one and I'm not sure if it's going to be a problem or not yet. They are sort of in my armpits where the strap meets the cup. The smaller size didn't actually look too small but the underwire started digging in. I love the quality of Fauve and wish their bras would go above a GG cup! I should probably have a 30 in this band because it stretches to a full 32" and I measure 31".
I bought this in what I thought is supposed to be my sister size - 30D.
However, the cups were definitely too big. I heard this bra is supposed to be good for shallow breasts? I dunno, it just didn't work for me. I wish it did as the colours are really lovely. The band was also way too big, which as a 26 UB, I expected. I could adjust the band but I'm pretty disappointed the cups didn't fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Appearance: The orange of this bra isn't quite as bright as I thought it would be, and the light beige lace reduces the vibrancy further. There are two bows in the center, and the smaller one has two fake jewels glued to the ends of it which look horrible and are bound to fall off and stick to your shirt. It's completely at odds with the lace on the straps and near the hooks, which are designed to make the bra look luxurious. Still, it is a fairly nice looking bra, and I'd keep it if it fit me.
Construction: There are only two ...rows of hooks and eyes. The straps are half-adjustable. There were a lot of loose threads near the hooks. The wires are covered with a padded, soft-looking fabric which looks almost like felt.
Fit: The gore doesn't tack on me; I expect the wires are too soft. There is nothing to stop the lace on the bottom of the front under the gore from wrinkling up, and so wrinkle it did, almost immediately. The sides are braced with a bit of boning so they probably won't do the same. For some reason the band went up on my back quite obviously, although it did not feel loose and it is only slightly angled up. Read more 121 more words
As you would expect from Fauve, this bra shows a lot of attention to detail. The hooks are covered by embroidery, and there's an echo of the pattern at the end of the hooks (the two pieces would touch on the tightest hook). The embroidery continues along the bottom of the cups and top of the cups. Altogether there is too much embroidery for me. I would have liked the edging of the cups and the little star-like silver thread shooting through the dark blue of the cups, but it is just too crowded with the additional embroidery in the transparent portion of the cups at the top.
The straps look a little like crepe with folds in the fabric serving to keep the sliders in place. They are fully adjustable.
The cups don't have enough immediate projection for me. Although I don't get significant folding, my breast does end in a rather green shape. I don't sag below the level of the underwire, but there's a significant dip at the bottom of the cup.
cut: shallow in the bottom, two vertical seams near the center gore (6,5 and 11,5cm away)
-) band was to big as I usually wear UK30F, so I sew a unstrechy satin band on the inside, along the band (to prevent the band from stretching to much out), this way it fits thight and supportive
+ nicest push-up look I ever had, makes also a nice round shape from the side
+ great quality: every seam is twice or trice done with a very strong yarn (was difficult to put it appart for alteration), very carefully placed little details
-> the matching undies run quite big (like Freya´s) so I had to go one size down
I really liked the look of this bra, and I'm so disappointed that it didn't work for me. The band was great but the cups were just a tad too small. I get a little bit of quadboob. I also didn't like the shape it gives me under clothes. This was my first unlined bra, and I think my boobs are just too conical for them. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> One other thing to mention is that the seams and embroidery are very visible under t-shirts.
Tried this on in a band size up only because that's what they had at the store. The band was pretty stretchy and two inches two big (I did hold it away from my back to determine the fit of the cups). I really don't like the quality of this bra or the three seamed cups. It looked pretty from far away and it did nothing for my shape. The top of the cups lay horizontal against my breasts and wrinkled and didn't mold to them when I sat down or held up my arms. The sateen fabric at the top of the cups looked and felt cheap. ...It even made noises when I moved like a cheap Halloween costume. The straps were way too big (I had to tighten them farther than they would go for a good fit) and they were still too far apart. The cups were a little too close together and dug into my breast tissue when I moved my arms. All around bad fit for me, don't think I'd have luck in a smaller size, it's a shape issue. This bra is great. It's stretchy, much like the Patsy longline, but the cups are narrower. Even though they don't make these in a 28 band, the 30 seems pretty snug so I'm satisfied with it. There are some parts that I was disappointed to find were made of plastic, but it doesn't really affect the look or elegance of the bra.
As with the Fauve Veronique Padded Half Cup (0241) , wrinkling on the sides. The lace on top isn't very forgiving of my wide root, and cuts in a tiny bit (not enough to up size I think). I'd say it runs big for a 30D, the band is somewhat true to size. I honestly don't know who to recommend this too.

This bra is really comfortable and gives me a great shape. Obviously the decorations show through thin shirts, but I don't mind this at all. The band feels a bit on the wide side, but it stays in place in the widest hooks. It might be a good replacement for the Merissa HC (I'm not a 100 per cent sure about this because I only ever got the chance to try on the Merissa in a 30D, which is too small for me), and I'd definitely say it's a great bra for wide root shallow breasts.
First of all the bra is absolutely beautyfull with it's vintage flower print with mesh overlay. It fits perfect in my usual size of 32G giving nice round shape thanks to its vertical seems. The gore isn't high and lies flat. The wires are bit on the wide side. I'd like the band to be more snug - it does'n ride up but I'll probably switch to the second hook. I don't readjust during the day and absolutely love the fit and the shape it gives me. The vertical seems are visible under the tops but I haven't wash the bra yet, may be they'll be softer and flatten a little then. The Annalise is one of my fave bras along with the Cleo Rihanna
Fauve is one of my favourite brands when it comes to the design, but unfortunately their smallest bands are too loose for me and their bras are too expensive in regular price. Despite all these contraindications I decided to buy Fauve on sale even if it means to go up one or two band sizes and alter the bra so as it becomes wearable. My first try was Annalise in 34D (altered to 30E) which was at least one cup size too big. I thought that I needed to size down to 30DD, at least in models known for running big in the cups.
Fauve Veronique was my second ...bra in the new size, 32D. The band was of course too loose and I altered it to 30DD/28E.
I have to confirm that the cups run quite big. I can wear this bra all the time, despite of size changes throughout a month. I have this model in two colourways, grape and topaz – the cups are more closed on the top in topaz while they're quite open in grape. The underwires are extremely wide like in all Fauve half cups, and the straps are really very centered. It's not the perfect mix for my breast which prefers narrow underwires and wide-set straps. I think that sizing down the cup was helpful
The design is just extraordinary, you can see a great quality in the perfect finish and materials. The only criticism I have to make is that the straps are very stretchy, fortunately supportive enough. Read more 145 more words
