Unfortunately, since my left breast is slightly larger than my right breast, I have to do a little wiggling to get the bra to sit properly. For the most part, it fits well. The underwires are a TINY bit too short on my left side, so I have a little bit of spillage under my arm, but this bra is beautiful and otherwise comfortable, so I am going to make it work. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I really like the color, style, and quality of this bra. However, the underwire digs into my rib cage and armpits on the side, the band is too large, and the cups gape slightly at the top (no cleavage). https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Bra measurements were taken after 4 months of occasional wear.
I returned this bra soon after I bought it. The fit was great, just like the vast majority of 30F Fauve padded half cup bras I already owned. The color, however, was a dark, brownish purple color. I thought it would be a clear jewel tone, like the dark blue Fauve Marla. This one was still a nice color, just not for me. I never wore the purple one and returned it to House of Fraser immediately.
This review is for the Ruby colorway, which has accents in chocolate brown. The blue Lucia, which has black accents, fits noticeably bigger in the cups than the Ruby colorway. Oddly enough, the center gore of the Ruby is also noticeably shorter than the blue Lucia's.
This lovely bra fits as a 30F Fauve padded half cup should. It fits like these other Fauve 30F half cup bras: Evangeline in black, Evangeline in Biscuit (clear, golden beige), and Evangeline in red Emmanuelle in blue/black Maya in Butterscotch (clear, golden beige) Chloe in teal, Chloe in blue, and Chloe in black Veronique in magenta Marla in blue, Marla in purple
I think you can understand why I ...was so annoyed that the 30F blue Fauve Lucia was not cut to the same depth as all those others.
To return to this ruby Fauve Lucia, it feels luxurious, as you would expect from Fauve. It gives dramatic, cakes on a plate cleavage. It has striking embroidery and trims. The Lucia model has an embroidered bow, placed asymmetrically on the left cup only, where it meets the strap.
The straps are partially adjustable. They continued the satin material and trims up the front of the straps. I'm petite, with somewhat high set breasts, but the straps shortened short enough for me. Each cup has two vertical seams.
The chocolate brown embroidery and trims are a dark chocolate color. So a high end milk chocolate, which has about 60% cocoa, also resembles this color. This color does NOT resemble Hersheys milk chocolate. I'm not judging you if that's what you like; I'm just pointing out how dark this brown accent color is. Read more 159 more words
This lined half cup bra gives me classic cakes on a plate cleavage. The color, called Butterscotch, is a clear, honeyed version of beige. The cups fit extremely well, as most of my Fauve half cups do. Fauve's half cups are on wide and deep, compared to some other brands' half cups. Each cup has two vertical seams. My theory is this helps make the shape very round. My breasts are round, even in terms of top or bottom heaviness, and neither shallow or projected. Out of the dozen or so Fauve half cup bras I've tried, only the blue Lucia and the Pearl have been too deep. ...All the others, including the unlined ones, have been great fits.
The fit and finish of Fauve account for the line's higher end pricing. There is no break-in period for these bras. Nothing scratches, pokes, or presses unevenly. This is a nude-for-me bra, but it's not boring. The cups have tonal embroidery pattern that resembles stylized leaves. There are flat, squared off bows at the gore and straps. The fully adjustable straps have a ruched texture that prevents slippage. The wings are mesh. Elastic at the top and bottom of the wings do not dig in. The tension created by the elastic doesn't overpower the tension of the mesh in the wings. Unlike some bras, this one doesn't cause back fat..
If I had a decent amount of space between my breasts, my boobs would be completely happy with this bra. The center gore is not high for a half cup bra, but my breasts require an abnormally low gore to be comfortable. I can comfortably wear this during a 16 hour day, but wearing such bras day after day causes semi-permanent bruising on my sternum. Read more 186 more words
gorgeous bra but runs large in comparison with the other Fauve's bras: I need 34G in Annalise, Coco and Emmanuelle (or 32G, which don't exist), but Dominique fits me in 34FF
This bra is absolutely stunning. The pictures I took do not do it justice. The colour is vibrant, the detail gorgeous. It's honestly almost overdone, but I love it - the bows literally have bows on them. Ridiculous!
Unfortunately, it's a tad bit shallow for me. I quad-boob out a bit. I'm just going to call it cleavage, though, because I really can't bear to part with a bra this pretty.
The longline bit has two main spots of boning, which provides good support. The lace doesn't flip up much like some longlines have a tendency to (or at least, it doesn't on me).
Absolutely gorgeous bra. A bit more projected than I like, so when my boobs are smaller, there is some wrinkling in the cup. It fits perfectly around shark week, however. The gore stabs into my chest sometimes, but most of the time it is fine.
EDIT: Another unfortunate casualty of tissue migration... Still a gorgeous bra, though.
This is a new favorite! Truth be told, the band is a bit big, and I'll probably have to alter it down before too long, but it is a gorgeous bra, and I love the rounded shape. It's also super comfortable, with nice narrow wires.
My shape: soft, pendulous, full on bottom with tall shallow top, measure to 36
This bra is gorgeously made, with no detail spared. The lace and ribbon is perfect. On me, it looks nice but it doesn't offer enough support. The band is firm. It feels more like a plunge than a half-cup based on the gore height and diagonal cup top.
I was SO excited to get the blue Fauve Lucia Padded Half Cup in 30F because it was a past season color, and I already had about ten Fauve half cup bras, padded and unpadded, that fit perfectly. I also knew this satin fabric was silky to the touch and gorgeous, because I already owned the Ruby color.
This does not fit! The cups are decidedly larger than all the other Fauve half cup bras I already had. I later discovered the 30F Fauve Pearl Padded Half Cup also runs big in the cups. But first, let me point out that this blue colorway is noticeably bigger in the ...cups than the Ruby colorway! Argh. The blue Lucia Half Cup Bra is also bigger than these ten Fauve bras in the same 30F size: Evangeline in black, beige, and red Emmanuelle in blue Maya in beige Chloe in teal, blue, and black Veronique in magenta Marla in blue
That's TEN other Fauve half cup bras that fit and this stupid blue Lucia that doesn't.
It is gorgeous, though, and the matching briefs are also gorgeous. Read more 69 more words
My shape: soft, deflated, full on bottom with tall shallow top, measure to 36E
This bra is so pretty. The fabric, details, satin, and strap details are incredible. It also is the worst fitting bra of the ones I own. The cups are so huge that the fabric falls away from the top and the bottom creates an ugly pointy shape. I can't really comment on aspects of fit since I haven't tried it in any other sizes.
It may not look like such a trainwreck from the photos, but there is significant wrinkling at the sides of the cups. I think this maybe for someone with fuller breasts all around than I have.
The wires feel quite stiff, and I can imagine that if I wore it for a few hours that it could become uncomfortable.
The bra itself is really beautiful and elegant looking. It has a relatively open cup that is good for shallow breasts.
This bra was a very weird fit, it's not a true half cup in my opinion more like an awkward balconette. The wires are also *very* wide. The widest I've ever seen on a bra. This would be a dream come true for some, but not me. I have an average to narrow root, shallow and FoB breasts so this was the perfect storm for creating the strangest boob shape ever. The same is true for the following other bras:
-Fauve Emmanuelle Padded Half Cup Bra -Fauve Veronique Padded Half Cup Bra -Fauve Lingerie Aurelia Padded Half Cup Bra -Fauve Dominique Padded Half Cup Bra

When I thought this was the way a bra should fit, I found it very comfortable and supportive, but since then I realized this size (34E) was too big in the band and too small in the cups.
It's still pretty though even though I prefer this bra in the eggplant color.
