This is another Fauve vertical seamed half-cup, which always suit me pretty well. It's very cute with the pink satin-stitched dots around the edges of the cups and the no-show trim on the band. I found it on closeout at Her Room, and it was the last one left! My size is never the last one left at a fantastic price like $40 with free shipping, and my only other black bra has stretched and is yet to be altered, so even though I probably shouldn't have, I bought it anyway.
As always, the shape is great on me. I am pleased to ...find that the 30F fits me well, so it looks like I dropped a cup size from last year, although I hadn't noticed in my other bras. It gaps a little across the top, but my tops hold the extra fabric against my boobs and it isn't noticeable, and I think sizing down a cup would cost me a lot of the good fit everywhere else.
No wrinkling at the base of the cup, plus a lovely rounded shape thanks to the vertical seams, and I think this might be another great one like my 30F - Fauve » Marla Padded Half Cup Bra (0291) . The band lays flat and is level across the back, lovely and tight on the loosest hook. The tag and some of the edges of the elastic under the arms are a little irritating (not exactly itchy), but I haven't washed it yet and I think it's just because it's new. The straps are wide, too wide for spaghetti-straps, but also comfy and will stay put.
My one complaint has to be the center gore/bridge, but this is the same ol' song I have always sung. I can't quite tell if the wires end too high or too low, because they poke either way. It's similar to the way the 30F - Fauve » Maya Padded Half Cup (0271) fit on me, but milder. I've tried to bend them out a little, but I may have to take some pliers to them (gently, of course!). Comfy, great fit! This was my first Bra That Fit. After comparing this to other Fauve padded half-cups, it appears this one is slightly deeper and more open on top than most of the others (which is good for me).
Half-cup balcony styles seem to work best for my top fullness. The cups here almost straight across and quite open at the top. It's such a fine line between fitting and not fitting, which you can tell from the difference in size between my left and right breast. When the straps are adjusted the same, the right, which is larger, comes perilously close to quad-boobing at times toward ...the middle, while there is slight top-wrinkling at the top for the smaller left breast. Tightening the left strap and loosening the right fixes the problem.
T-shirt friendliness: Pretty good. This is technically not a traditional T-shirt style; it's a three-part cut-and-seam soft cup. But the seams are subtle and barely visible on the outside. I wouldn't call it a molded cup, but the cups are very, very lightly lined with a thin layer of foam, which prevents headlight problems. Embroidery and top seam show under tighter tops.
Materials: 48% nylon/polyamide, 46% polyester, 6% elastene. Maybe it's because it's pre-owned and "worn in", but it feels comfortable to me; it's fabric, not mesh, and it's got a smooth, satiny finish.
POST-SCRIPT: Having tried several Fauve Padded Half-cups in 30F, here is how well they fit me, from best to worst. Better fits are deeper and/or more open on top.

Unfortunately, since my left breast is slightly larger than my right breast, I have to do a little wiggling to get the bra to sit properly. For the most part, it fits well. The underwires are a TINY bit too short on my left side, so I have a little bit of spillage under my arm, but this bra is beautiful and otherwise comfortable, so I am going to make it work.
The Pearl is almost good on me. SO close in some ways, and yet so far. First things first: It's a beautifully made bra, with soft satin and embroidery and pretty little details everywhere. Fauve calls this "padded," but to me it feels more like a heavy lining — and I like that kind of design a lot.
The band is just a touch too tight, but it feels pretty firm and the base of the cups fit nicely. The wires hit just at the front of my underarm which means that I've finally found a bra where the wires don't sit on breast tissue. I can fill the ...bottom out nicely, and the gore is just a tiny bit too wide and high for my closely-set boobs. I'd live with it easily if the cup tops and straps weren't a disaster. The bra wants fullness up top, and I'm not nearly full enough. I suspect that the thick lined fabric would make adding a substantial dart difficult, and on top of all that, the straps are too widely set for my shoulders. I suspect I'd be pulling the straps up all day.
So, the Pearl is lovely and might be perfect for someone who's full on top, doesn't want deep cups, and can do wide-set straps. For me, it's the too big / too small problem again and I don't think a sister size will cut it... back it goes. Read more 131 more words
The Fauve Pearl Padded Half Cup Bra in 30F is black satin with pale pink embroidered dots on the cups, straps, and most of the bottom edge of the band. I have ten other Fauve half cup bras. Three are sheer; the other seven are what Fauve calls padded and what I would call lightly lined. All ten in my closet fit well.
I was surprised, therefore, to find the cups of the 30F Fauve Pearl gaped slightly at the top edge. There is just enough stiffness in the cups for them to hold their shape, so there is no wrinkling anywhere, not even at the very top edges. ...The difference in fit between the Pearl and my other Fauve half cups is distinct, however.
It turns out the Pearl's cups and center gore are much taller than in my other Fauves. This causes the gaping at the top and makes the straps feel like they are digging into the shoulder/armpit area. I am petite and small framed to boot. I expect the Pearl would suit someone in the 30F range if they were taller or had a longer distance from underbust to shoulder or were extremely full on top.
