30F/FF tall and narrow root, average projection, splayed, full on top

Fauve bras are the right mix of sexy and elegant, making one of my absolute favorite brands. The Lucia is a gorgeous deep ruby color with black embroidery and trim. It gives perfect cakes on a plate cleavage and an upfront rounded profile.

I feel my only complaint would be how loose their bands are. Even though it's a 30 I need to put it on the tightest hook or the wires will slide down in front and the band will rise in the back. The decoration on the front of the straps is also not to my taste. In my opinion, ones that are simple black or the same ruby of the bra would look nicer.

  2. Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331)

My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle

This review is for the Silver colorway.

Of course! As soon as my gorgeous new [full-price] Bronte arrived from Figleaves, they posted a 50% off sale...

In spite of my annoyance, I am thrilled. I love my 32F - Fauve » Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331) to bits and it is still one of the best fitting bras I have ever owned. The silver satin really shimmers in the light! I love longlines, too, and the beautiful embroidered lace around the edges and on the straps is characteristic of Fauve's attention to ... detail.

Vertical-seam half cups seem to be the best shape for me by far, and this is no exception. The cup is tall enough that I don't pop over the top, but short enough and open-on-top enough that nothing cuts into my tall roots. The padding is minimal and really only prevents show through, so there are no giant foam cookies pushing my boobs into weird shapes. It's super comfortable and the gore is high but somehow doesn't dig! YAY

I noticed a little bit of a gape at the top of the cup on my smaller breast in this one, which I don't recall having in the Spice colorway - that is, the cups on the Spice gape a teensy amount because it wasn't tailored to me personally, and obviously rather more when I hunch my shoulders because of how wide the straps are set, but this is a bit more. I also noticed that the bottom of the cup looks a tiny bit shallower than the Spice, but I'll have to double check next time I wear it. The straps also seem to be set a little bit wider.

Overall, it's very comfortable and while wearing it under clothes the differences in the colorways (if I'm not imagining them) is negligible. Still grumpy about my timing with regards to the half-off sale, but ecstatic about my pretty new Bronte. Love!

Just like the 32F Chloe balcony I bought at the same time - too big a band (way, way too big in this one). There's no lining to stabilise the cup, making the embroidery cut in in weird places like the sides of my boobs, making them look lumpy. I have pretty soft tissue though. It doesn't look bad when I throw a shirt on top, it simply looks strange when I'm in the bra only.

Otherwise the shape is great - deep at the bottom with good lift and an open upper cup - I truly love unlined half cup styles. This one has pretty narrow wires, too, narrower than I expected from looking at others' measurements.

Just like the balconette version of this, I'm not sure whether to keep it and alter it or sell it. Time will tell.

One of the bras I bought while trying to figure out my size. I had to send it back in a rush, so unfortunately don't have measurements for it, but the fit is great for me (slightly shallow, slightly splayed, firm, slightly FoB; usually 30DD/E).

It's an amazingly pretty bra, and very sturdy too (one of my pictures is wonky, the colour is quite nice). Fit well all around--the band, while not as tight as I'd like, is wearable on loosest hook; straps adjust to right length, comfortable; cups are right shape and size; no gaping, fits my IM fold, I fill out everywhere. It gave me a nice ... round shape, too. My boobs are naturally firm (since they're small), so I rarely get any uplift in bras, but this one felt like maybe it pushed up a little bit?

Only issue is, the wire ends hurt like crazy as soon as I put it on. This is the literally the only bra that has ever given me this problem. Usually, wires are either okay or a little wide on me, but this one hurts like no other. It doesn't dig into my side tissue or anything, but it just really hurt my ribs. Sternum probably digs in, but I couldn't wear it enough to tell. Also, the wire is almost an inch too short for the channel, which is why the side of the bra is doing that weird indent. Others have this issue too, so it seems to be a design decision--but why?

This is the one bra that I'm very sad to have to send back, with how pretty it is. I own some other Fauve bras too, but those don't hurt at all.

Oh, I loved this bra. I loved it the first time I tried it on. Shallow-friendly, giving a great shape, great uplift, and so pretty, with so many details. I got it in three different colours, and stashed them away for winter and thicker clothes the embroidery wouldn't show through. Pulled them out today and wondered whether I'd always had that much sideboob in those bras. To my great disappointment, I am listing the lot of them.

Expected this to be more of an emerald colour going by the model photos, but it arrived and it's definitely teal, which is not a bad thing, just not what I pictured. I see now the colourway is sold as 'Peacock' which is simply a fancier name for teal. So that's that.

Band is too big, obviously, as I picked the sister size that was available. On the tightest setting the band feels okay, if only just a little loose. The gore is far too wide for my not really close set boobs. Fairly narrow and projected cups. It gives a nice, very uplifted but not entirely spherical shape ... (not Cleo round). The materials used feel more luxorious than other brands - for example the band is a soft satin rather than cheap elasticised mesh. It just feels a lot better on my sensitive skin. The intricate embroidery on the cups looks pokey at first but doesn't show through tops as much as you'd think.

I'll either alter it (narrowing the gore) or pass it on to someone else, haven't decided yet.

Of all the Fauve Padded Half Cups I've tried (which is a bunch*), this is one of the ones that works the least for me. It's shorter, shallower, and wider-gored than its compatriots, and I'm full on top, projected, and close-set, so it's bad a match. It's pretty open on top, which is nice, but because it lacks height, I tend to fall out of the top. On the plus side, the band is nice and firm, not as stretchy as some of the others can be.

Straps note -- the actual strappy part of the straps is about 3/4", but the straps have lace on both sides ... which extends to about 1.5" at widest, so take note if you plan on wearing it with strappy tops.

*Here is how well they fit me, from best to worst. Better fits are deeper and/or more open on top.

Wow, this is a fantastic-looking bra. I'm usually not a big lace fan, but the lace here is just so beautiful! Similar fit to the Fauve Evangeline. For me, it's on the shallow side.

MOST BEAUTIFUL OF ALL BRAS, but I get a bit of quad-boob. It is on the shallow side for Fauve Padded Half Cups. Gives beeeauuitful cakes-on-plate, though, and is itself lovely, with silvery embroidery. It's a real princess bra!

The band on this runs fairly true, maybe a tiny bit tight just because the material doesn't seem to have a lot of immediate stretch. Just as background knowledge, my breasts seem to be even, average to slightly shallow projection, average to slightly wide roots and I can fill these cups perfectly, no gaping, wrinkling or spillage.

The underwires seem stronger than those in my Freya bra, so I'm hoping they'll hold up well over time. The bra gives me a great shape, too, very natural without being overly rounded or pointed. It's really a stunning bra in person, the pattern and colors are lovely and the material is so unbelievably soft against the skin. I haven't worn it for an extended time yet, so I can't say how comfortable it is after 8 or 10 hours, but I'll try and update this review when I've given it a more thorough workout.

  13. Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331)

I thinks the cups run small. I concider my size in Panache 28F or 28FF. Because Bronte doesn´t come in 28 bands, I ordered 30F, a sister size to 28FF.

The wires are really wide. They are a bit wider than I need but that is no problem actually. They are comfortable and it doesn´t show really, that they should be a bit narrower. I get some quadboobing, so cups are too small for me.

The band either runs small or then it is a longline thing, it feels tight enough for me definitely. I could not wear a 28 band in this bra! My tight underbust measurement is 26 ... inches.

The bra has boning in the sides and therefore it stays put quite well. Only the front lace at the bottom rolled over while wearing the bra. Some people have found Bronte longline painful to wear. I didn´t find it painful, but during the day I could feel the bra all the time. It gave me good posture and I held my back straight all day, one cannot hunch in this bra. When I took the bra off, there were red lines in my body. I don´t think it´s going to be a problem though, the red lines were not downright painful, more like uncomfortable.

    EDIT. 1.9.2014
The bra is really comfortable to wear. I did have overspill originally in the center of the cups, but that seems to have disappeared. So this bra fits, and is very comfortable + nice looking! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I love Fauve. Their padded bras fit great and are sooo beautiful. Coco in powder goes rather well as a nude bra for me. I don't know why but while I spill out of the center of the Freyas and Ewas I can wear the Fauves without any readjastments during the day

  16. Evangeline Padded Half Cup (0262)

If fairies and elves really exist, they're shopping for bras like my Fauve Evangeline Padded Half Cup in Red. The full, rounded profile; the ethereally beautiful Leavers lace layered over the cups; the stretchy yet supportive band that doesn't cause back fat...My 30F Evangeline pushes my breasts up, to form that uber-cakes-on-a-plate cleavage, AND forces them toward the center of my chest. One can have almost touching breasts that from the front are very round in appearance but still move toward each other only with reluctance. I value bras that create maximum fullness around the center gore. Until I tried Ewa Michalak's 3D bras, I thought Fauve's half ... cup bras were the only ones that could do this. I tell ya, having very naturally firm breasts isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I got this Evangeline in Red, bought another in beige (Biscuit), and then tried it in black. All three fit the same. Every bit of the bra is comfortable. There is NO break-in period with Fauve, at least with the dozen or so I've tried. I've tried mostly padded half cups, but also three sheer half cups.

I worried that the Leavers lace was too delicate for frequent wear, but the underside of the straps wears faster than the lace. In fact, neither the red or beige (Biscuit) Evangeline is showing wear in the outer cup material. Maybe that's why these bras cost what they do, to source higher quality, more durable materials?

Being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. I'm sure the gore height and cup coverage of Fauve's half cup bras are a necessity for women with soft tissue and more space between their breasts, but the gore is just too high on me for more than occasional wear.

I actually bought a backup of this bra, figuring a nude-for-me bra is versatile enough to justify the expense. However, the sad fact is that being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. Took a chance on this bra because I was looking for a strapless bra and this was heavily discounted, but unfortunately it didn't pay off. Cups are entirely the wrong shape for my shallow breasts, so they just sit within the moulded cups and are not at all supported or restrained. Top edge of the cups barely even touches my chest. The search continues.
