    Didn't fit

This Fantasy Illusion bra in 30G is a better fit than my previous poorly fitting bras, but still is not the right fit. I like this bra, I chose it because the straps are fairly close together and I wanted to try a bra with side support. The biggest issue for me is the high center gore that dug into my sternum slightly. It also pinched my breast tissue when I tried to scoop and swoop and just did not work with my center fullness. (I had a feeling the gore would be problematic though) A 28 band fits a bit better on me but I am unsure ... if this brand makes that band size. I think I should have gotten a 30FF instead of a 30G when going up in the band. With my asymmetry, I had more wrinkling and some space not filled out at the bottom on my right breast. I did like the bras construction and vertical seams. The design helped bring my boobs to the front rather than what usually happens, either my breasts running away to the sides, or my breast tissue exploding out of the top/quad boobing. I liked the strap placement being close enough together. The comfortable band material and thickness with 3 hooks was nice. I prefer a bra in other colors, like black. In person the white looks a little plain, but up close it's cute. I like the stretchy lace material on top, in the correct size it would help contain my tissue that swells up at certain times of the month when my breasts become a bit more FOT. I am petite, and short in the torso 4ft 9 115lbs so I am greatful this bra did not poke me in the armpits. I usually wear plunge bras, and I am use to more cleavage, but having the pressure off of my neck and shoulders was great, and my posture is so much better than when I was wearing a 36 band. I think I am going to skip trying Fantasie bras with gores equal too or taller/wider. I am so done wearing ill fitting padded bras though! This bra was a decent attempt to build from, but I am still searching Megan. *Edit* Origenally reported this bra as the Fantasie Fusion Bra (that I also considered buying) but this is the Fantasie Illusion with Side Support.

    • some space at the bottom = not projected enough (most likely) see this graphic https://imgur.com/wuKovXy too little depth at the bottom on the cup, I think.

also, the gore looks painful. it just looks to wide.

I've never tried Fantasie, some I'm not sure how their bras run. I prefer brands like Comexim (good for close-set breasts) and Ewa Michalak (good for projected breasts).

If you already bought this bra/don't want to return it, and you're okay with the space at the bottom of the cup (I am not sure how to do an alteration for that) you can alter the centre gore using this alteration https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/if2qyr/project_guide_overlapping_bra_gore/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I took a peek at your measurements. You’re not too far off from mine. I took a 30FF in Fantasie when I tried the brand, tho I didn’t care for the wide gore and over all fit. I say this definitely looks a cup size too big. I suggest Comexim. Very center full friendly and my 4’10” daughter had no issues adjusting the straps short enough and when I was a little thinner and wearing a 30GG/65J on Comexim I can tell you the side wings do not come up very high and would be more petite friendly. Good luck, may the bra force be worn you. : )

    • 1

It looks like this bra is actually the Fantasie Illusion Side Support Bra (FL2982) from the tags pictures, not the Fusion.

    • 2

Jj I Believe you may be right! I either may have purchased it with an incorrect listing (on another site) or it was my own error, I was looking to purchase both. I'll take a look and edit, thank you!

@BraOdyssey Also I do own this bra but I unfortunatly can not wear this due to the gore issues, I will either pass it on to one of my sisters or will consider listing here for cheap/to give away. I will check out that tip about augmenting the gore for future use though, I have a feeling it will come in handy in the future.

I figured I need some projection rather than shallow bras, but I am still figuring out all the little tidbits to bra fitting. The diagrams shared are helpful theres just so much to take in. For example I assumed my breasts were borderline spaced far apart, but when supported they actually go quite close together. I wasnt sure if the width of the gore would matter had the gore been much lower, but still think I need to make sure the gore is narrow as well. I also agree I should have tried the 30ff but because I've gotten a range of sizes with ABTF calculator I decided to try this one.

@Happy2brashop I have been looking at bra brands from Poland and they seem like an ideal option for me. I hope to order from them I just wanted to get a feel for what works before ordering, currently I have 0 bras that fit. I have been trying to wear either a 34DDD or 36DD from VS for way too long, being short and petite added a whole other piece to this, so I appriciate the input. I had no idea what a correctly fitting bra felt like! I will check out Ewa bras as well :) Thank you!

    Didn't fit

I was hoping that the Rebecca would be a good replacement style for a long time everyday bra that I own about 6 of in nude because they work with all my outerwear and are super comfy (Fantasie's Smoothing Balcony Bra - the unpadded one, not the Tshirt bra).

I've been recently fitted into a 28GG for Panache/Cleo but since Fantasie doesn't go down to a 28 I find that I'll end up in a 30G or occasionally 30FF in Fantasie.

Like the Fantasie Smoothing Balcony Bra this is generous in the cup and the 30G was too big. It looks ok in the photos because the fabric is ... thickly padded and shaped and won't wrinkle but my boobs are just hanging in those cups. I don't fill out the sides at all and don't stretch the cup fabric anywhere.

Oh! And that's the best part of this bra - the fabric is nice and padded (no nipple show) but it has a fair bit of stretch in it!

I also found that the bra gives you an unflattering east/west spread - it's a bit minimising from the side view but makes me look matronly from the front.

Hoping this will be less noticeable in a cup size down. I think I'm going to give it another shot in a smaller size simply because it is really comfortable and I haven't found a bra with a bit of padding in it that is as comfortable and as versatile as my everyday Fantasie Smoothing Balcony bra.

    Fits

I love this bra, its underrated... I do not understant that Rebecca is more popular. Fantasie Eclipse is made big, average to wide cups, very big in the band. This feels like my usual 32G bras.
The straps are quite thin, cute, fully adjustable and have a J-hook! How cool!
There are 3 hooks at the back for a more secure feel.
I feel like the spacer cups are thiner and more flexible than the Rebecca.
There is a little bit of lace on the wings and on the band, just under the cups. It feels a little bit scratchy.
Overall this is a very convenient and comfortable bra, its only downside is how large the band are. This would definetely not for for women who usually wear 28 or 30 bands.

    Didn't fit

This bra fits small. It is the second of my bras ordered in 32FF but gotten in 30G and while the band runs about true to size, the cups are a cup too small. It is supposed to be stretch lace bra (and there is stretch lace https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />) but unfortunately the strong, tight elastic at the top of the cup completely negates that and it cuts in (rather extremely) into my soft tissue.

The bra is *not* as full coverage as the model photos imply. In the photo it seems more tall and narrow (the cup), but in reality it is not nearly as tall (narrow it is).

For me, the only good thing about this bra is the gorgeous slate colour.

    • It's a beautiful bra! Fantasie was my favorite brand for over a decade. Unfortunately they just don't work for me now.....sigh.

    • 1

I'm extremely bummed all their bras seem to have the same fit and none seem to work for me.

    • Their bras are beautiful so I totally understand your disappointment.

    • Wow, that bra is indeed small! What a shame, because it is beautiful.

    • Wow, how beautiful! It’s a shame that it’s not a good fit.

    • I tried both Jacqueline Lace and the original Jacqueline (is it still made? I can go check) and found contrary to what I was being told by sales assistants, they really did NOT fit exactly the same. Only the original Jacqueline (which admittedly does not look as pretty or delicate) had a nice forgiving fit. I think Fantasie saw the success of that design (because it was so easy to fit on people) and then they decided to try and "improve" with wacky colors (Selina, I think was the name of that spinoff) and fancier materials etc. but some of the fit qualities were lost.

    • 1

I think there's some of the old Jacquelines left in stock, but not many. I remember seeing it on Figleaves for sure.

It is quite beautiful. Funny enough I would probably still wear that with all those little fit problems.
It's so amazing to me how differently we all see things. When I look at this bra I see a very full coverage bra with quite a wide wire and you feel it is not full coverage at all and narrow.
      Post the measurements please!

    • 2

I think the main fit problems cannot be seen in the photos due to the colour of the bra. I guess overall it just feels small when on.

I am working through the bra measurements I have, this one is next, lol! Just got my measuring tape.

  5. Zoe Side Support Bra (9262)

    2
    like

    30G

    Didn't fit

Fantasie is one of those brands that keeps breaking my heart. This is the third bra of theirs that *almost* fits, but it doesn't.

I ordered Zoe because by measurements it's very close to Fantasie Alex Side Support Bra (9152) but the problem I had with Alex is that the mesh lace in combination with embroidery on it made for some weird cutting in at the top of my breasts. Zoe has stretch lace at the top of the cups, so I figured, why not.

Now, please note I never went for a 30 band, I ordered two bras and both of them came in 30G instead of ... 32FF. I'm not sure what happened there, but the problem, as it turns out, is not in the size of the band, as (demonstrated by a photo) there is a fair amount of give on a 30 band in my case.

The cups of Fantasie bras seem to just be all wrong for me. This is heartbreaking as their bras are not only very comfy but also the wires are just right for me. The cups are incredibly closed on top, and I think even with stretch lace on Zoe it's just a little too much. Maybe I could take out the elastic at the trim and it would be better? I am not sure because I fear it might deform the cup and it will gap. They are 4-part cups, very deep at the seam where stretch lace meets the solid cup. I'm not sure if going up a cup would solve my issue as already I feel like the cups might be a little big for me, there seems to be empty space at the deepest part of the cup. It feels like the 'bigness' is distributed wrong, is all. The silhouette these cups give is also not very appealing, in my opinion. The boobs look extremely pointy. They also give this east-west look rather than front and center and I wonder why it's called a 'side support' bra when it really supports nothing on the side.

The gore is wide, but not uncomfortable to me. It tacks, there's not much more to say about that. I will say for close-set boobs I would never ever recommend this. The gore is very tall (not as tall as Alex, though), and it's wide throughout.

The straps are a little too wide set. Maybe this is a 30G thing? The straps on Alex 32FF seemed just fine, but these (and this is a first for me, and now I finally understand what most women complain about) are actually painfully cutting in to my tail of spence. Maybe it's a matter of getting used to it but I don't see myself getting used to this soon.

I think, with Zoe, I am done with Fantasie bras. On a different note, it seems I lost a ton of weight because I'm rocking a 30 band like it's nothing. Lol. Oh and the red colour is beautiful. I've been looking for a bright red bra, and if this actually fit the way it was supposed to, it would have been the winner.

    • I think you may be on to sonething here. When I was a 32G (for like 10+ years) I wore Fantasie almost exclusively and they were great in every way. When my size changed & I tried their 30HH then 30J 30JJ 30K, the new bras were just not a great fit at all. There was a big difference between the cups on the 32 and 30 band. It was a big shock that I couldn't wear my tried and true brand after so many years.
I loved Zoe, it was so comfortable but only came up to a J cup which was too small. It was very minimizing as well, though that could also be due to the cup being too small?
I think (but can't say for sure) that the side support is to lessen the underarm breast bulge. It seems like all the Fantasie bras in a G and above are labeled as side support, as all mine were if I recall correctly.

    • 1

Yes the inconsistency between sister sizing is very confusing to me. This one just feels disproportionate. Alex, save for the issue with the lace, feels like it fits in the right places. Jacqueline is just way way too small in 30G.

The minimising part of Zoe I can feel at both the top of cups and the bottom (Alex just feels minimising throughout). However, in the middle, the deepest part, it's just like there is extra room. I can imagine maybe the push and pull interaction of firmer breasts and this bra would give a nice shape. Unfortunately for my soft tissue it seems to be a disaster.

    • I understand that. While I do have under the muscle implants, they are well hidden under squishy post breastfeeding natural tissue so effectively full soft and uncooperative. (We'll leave out the fact that they are also on my aging 45 year old body which adds to their squish...... ;-) )
I'm just glad I found Ewa bras. They are not perfect but they are the closest I've come to bra perfection.

    • 1

Honestly, I want to bang my head against the wall for even trying ALL these other brands when I found that EM bras fit me well.
But what bothers me is that I'm a creature of habit and her practice of discontinuing bras in a very short amount of time doesn't mesh well with that at all, lol.

    • FWIW Ewa doesn’t run out of fabric for her tan bras, heh.

    • Or her basic line. Black, White, & Beige seem to be there forever, while she obviously buys less materials for the bright, bold, & beautiful varieties. She must feel there is more demand for the neutral colors and thus less risk of them not selling. Yet the others do sell, & often insanely fast, so it really doesn't seem like a risk to have a bit more supply available. ......

    • The reds seem to always be in stock too. I just don't find any of the red colours that appealing.

    • Yeah, I'm not a big red fan either, but their red BMs aren't bad. The BM Bibi Flamenco is gorgeous in person.

    • This one looks like a better fit than the purple one, but still both don’t seem to be quite right for you, sadly.

    • 1

I've learned my lesson with Fantasie Calluna

MamaPagan The Flamenco I like a lot actually, but because of how much smaller Bibi Bezova Perla runs than Bibi Black in the cup, I'm scared to order it. Bezova Perla feels like it's half a cup smaller than Bibi Black, but it could also be a sister sizing inconsistency (Black is in 80E, Bezova Perla is in 75F).

    • Flamenco will fit like Bibi Black, or it did in my experience. Both are more open on top which allows for more upper breast space for sure. The half lace BMs hug the top of the breast better, giving more of a secure feel to them.

This is my third Fantasie purchase in size 30G. I had to have this style because of the beautiful blue print (new version, not the first one). The fit of this is so much better for me than the Penelope or the Darcie (I can't find either of these on Bratabase). Very rounded and uplifted, almost as good as a Cleo Marcie, but not nearly as "front and center". My other Fantasie balconette bras give a much more pointy appearance. This bra runs a tad loose. I am on the second set of hooks to begin with, but I don't think Fantasie provides 28 bands.

Gorgeous bra, but the lace at the top is NOT stretch at all, and as such it has little flexibility for a little bit more fullness on top - it warped my breast tissue into weird shapes due to shallowness in weird places! Maybe a cup size up would help, but I can't find it anywhere.

Dewberry (pinkish purple) color. Bought from Brastop, tried on for fit then measured.

This bra fits comfortably in the band (the band runs tighter than the Freya bras I've tried on, which is good), but the cup is too large, I could probably go with a 30FF. I think the issue might be more that the cup is designed for breasts that are more full on top than mine, which are soft due to weight loss (even though my breasts only went down one cup size with 40 pounds of weight loss). Even though there's an empty space on top, the molding is VERY firm, definitely more firm than ... the Deco, and therefore, you cannot tell that I don't completely fill this bra. I actually get a small amount of quad-boob if I don't have it adjusted right, because my breasts fill the bottom of the cup well but don't quite have the shape for the top of this cup.

The straps are fully adjustable, and I have them adjusted almost to the shortest they can go. That might be because the cup is a bit too big, though, rather than that the straps are unusually long.

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to keep it or not, the quality feels very good, it gives a good shape under clothing, and it's a pretty color. It was also affordable. However, it isn't the right size. Brastop doesn't have a cup-size down, so I'm probably going to try it on again tomorrow, see how it looks under tee-shirts, and see how I feel about it then, before deciding if I will return it or not.

I got this bra at Nordstrom's. It's comfortable overall, the quality seems good, and more full-coverage. The one problem that prevents me from liking it is the straps. They keep falling off my shoulders and it's really, really annoying. This happens whether I tighten them or loosen them - believe me, I've tried to make it work. I have fairly wide shoulders so I don't think that's the problem - maybe the straps are just exceptionally wide-set on this bra. It's possible that the cups are a little big for me and this wouldn't happen if the cups were completely filled up (as in overflowing a bit). However, a 30FF is too small for me, so I don't think this is quite the problem either. It may just not be a good fit for my particular body type.

If it were not for the strap issue, I would really like the bra.

Updated on May 25, 2011 Flag this

    • Have you tried adjusting the band size? Strap slippage is usually caused by a band that is too loose. The band can move around too much, which causes the straps to fall down.

    • Yes, I tried adjusting the straps and the bands - it did no good! I think the straps were just too wide for me, and the cups a bit large.

This band stretches quite a bit - feels more like a 32 than a 30, which is unfortunate, because Fantasie doesn't make 28s. I've found it works decently for projected shapes, but there may be a bit of gaping at the top (but less than there often is for other molded bras or especially plunge bras). For cup sizes lower than this, the band seems to be firmer, which is bizarre.

Aside from the slightly pointy shape I get from this bra, I love it. It's super comfortable. The straps are soft and stretchy, which is how I prefer them, and the band is nice and firm. The cup is like microscopically too big and with the slightly pointy shape that means it might be a good candidate for the Bras I Hate alteration to give it a more rounded appearance.

It's so comfortable though. It's pretty perfect. My 30FF was too small in the cup - I thought it was the wrong shape for my boobs, but it was just too small. The 30G I have is in the mint color, which to me is not as cute as the chocolate brown, but I will live. Yay!

Helena is a lovely day-to-day bra. Supportive, uplifting and quite comfortable, its design is pretty while understated. Under clothing, the bra provides a great, forward-facing shape.

That said, my breasts naturally sit very close together, and this bra doesn't deal very well with that; when wearing the bra, the underwires comes up quite high and wide in my cleavage, pressing down and into my breasts' soft tissue, leaving very unhappy red marks in their wake. Women with more space between their breasts, however, will not necessarily have this problem and may find this to be a perfect fit.

((Best bra ever! I find myself typically 30FF in both Fantasie pieced or molded but this one fit best one cup size up, 30G. My boobs are practically up to my neck in this one--THE perfect t-shirt bra!!!))

Edit: I realize now the cups are bigger than they should be. This was my first moulded-cup purchase after finding my real size and also it was on sale so I didn't have the option of comparing with other sizes and since I thought it fit I wore it for a good 5 months until I really compared it with the other molded styles. Next time I purchase Fantasie it will be in 30FF. Until then it works as a period bra.

    Purchased Late-July 2010.

  16. Aura Moulded Full Cup Bra (2322)

    Didn't fit

The cups are quite narrow and not very flexible, the bottom of the cup folded in although the cups were too small. The wires are also a bit uncomfortable and I don't like the appearance very much.

    Natural Beige colorway

The wires. My god the WIRES.

I don't want to be mad. But why.

I'm just trying to understand why this brand feels that low quality tough bare steel is a great plan for larger breasts, in a design that clearly is made for some degree of humidity-control.

I agree, Fantasie bras havnt been ideal for me, one of the first bras I tried in an ABTF size was the illusion side support think. (Maybe Fusion?) And jeez, the wires were torture! Tall Long Firm Harsh and Stabby. Currently I am wearing a different Fantasie Bra that kind of fits and it leaves a mark. My sternum hates it and I've had the same thought

    • Yes! A fitter at Nordstrom dug up a set of wheterv they had in their scary dusty storage closet closest to 28GG/H (almost nothing and you bet the bands were all massive). The 30FF fusion was NOT IT. That thing was conical, too wide, shallow and tall, no room for full on bottom... but also very tight and binding. I only tried Elodie because I researched the hell out of it, and it seemed not so bad. Realistically I despise the wires but the cup is a really nice match. Zero guilts about sweating to death in this heat in it.

The fabric is very sturdy and soft. After bending the underwires a little, it's comfortable! Provides nice support.

Such a lovely fabric: white floral with shimmery white embroidery. The fabric at the top of the cup flares a bit, so it looks like there's some gaping. The cup does seem to fit, just not on my smaller side, so not ideal for asymmetry. The band is pretty stretchy so I had to size down from my usual 32FF. The biggest problem for me is the width of the gore. I'm close set, so I need a narrower gore than this one gives.
