Fantasie is one of those brands that keeps breaking my heart. This is the third bra of theirs that *almost* fits, but it doesn't.
I ordered Zoe because by measurements it's very close to Fantasie Alex Side Support Bra (9152) but the problem I had with Alex is that the mesh lace in combination with embroidery on it made for some weird cutting in at the top of my breasts. Zoe has stretch lace at the top of the cups, so I figured, why not.
Now, please note I never went for a 30 band, I ordered two bras and both of them came in 30G instead of ...32FF. I'm not sure what happened there, but the problem, as it turns out, is not in the size of the band, as (demonstrated by a photo) there is a fair amount of give on a 30 band in my case.
The cups of Fantasie bras seem to just be all wrong for me. This is heartbreaking as their bras are not only very comfy but also the wires are just right for me. The cups are incredibly closed on top, and I think even with stretch lace on Zoe it's just a little too much. Maybe I could take out the elastic at the trim and it would be better? I am not sure because I fear it might deform the cup and it will gap. They are 4-part cups, very deep at the seam where stretch lace meets the solid cup. I'm not sure if going up a cup would solve my issue as already I feel like the cups might be a little big for me, there seems to be empty space at the deepest part of the cup. It feels like the 'bigness' is distributed wrong, is all. The silhouette these cups give is also not very appealing, in my opinion. The boobs look extremely pointy. They also give this east-west look rather than front and center and I wonder why it's called a 'side support' bra when it really supports nothing on the side.
The gore is wide, but not uncomfortable to me. It tacks, there's not much more to say about that. I will say for close-set boobs I would never ever recommend this. The gore is very tall (not as tall as Alex, though), and it's wide throughout.
The straps are a little too wide set. Maybe this is a 30G thing? The straps on Alex 32FF seemed just fine, but these (and this is a first for me, and now I finally understand what most women complain about) are actually painfully cutting in to my tail of spence. Maybe it's a matter of getting used to it but I don't see myself getting used to this soon.
I think, with Zoe, I am done with Fantasie bras. On a different note, it seems I lost a ton of weight because I'm rocking a 30 band like it's nothing. Lol. Oh and the red colour is beautiful. I've been looking for a bright red bra, and if this actually fit the way it was supposed to, it would have been the winner. Read more 415 more words
This is a comfortable bra, with pretty good immediate projection, but not great lift or upward support. The gore doesn't tack, but at least I don't have any quadboob. The band is very stretchy, I tried this also in 38 band and it was too loose. It gives decent support for my pendulous breasts, but the cups are a little too wide with empty space at the sides, so the shape isn't as lifted, more east-west and a little saggy (natural for my boobs). Some wrinkling in the bottom of the cup - almost like I am not full-on-bottom enough to fill out the cup. Comfortable to wear, but the shape it gives is not ideal for me.
Zoe in 30J I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.
Zoe is an unpadded underwire side support full cup bra. It is available in a variety of colors depending on the year of manufacture, and I got this one in black. The cups separate the breasts, pushing them to the side, while providing full support. As with most bras that push the breasts to the side, it does create a minimize effect, making the breasts appear smaller than they truly are. The lace on the top of the cups is super stretchy, making ...this a very comfortable bra. This particular style goes to a J cup and runs small, at least in black.
The band measures 25.5” to a max 30” with 3 hooks and 3 rows of eyes. The straps on this one are perfectly spaced which is an amazingly wonderful find.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 14.5”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
This depth wasn’t quite big enough for me and resulted in a bit of quad boob/minor spillage at the top of the cups, but it was super comfortable. Overall, this one fit like my 30HH Joanna bra. Ironically Amazon reviews at the point that I purchased this bra, stated Zoe in Black to fit as expected 60% and somewhat large 40% with none stating it ran small. Based on my other Fantasie bras, this one runs small in both cup and band, but others did not experience this.
Personally I love the support this bra gives and just how comfortable it truly is. I really wish it came in a JJ cup, as I’d jump on that in a heartbeat. This would be my favorite Fantasie bra of all time, even though I am not a fan of the minimizing effect. The comfort and support are that good with this one.
Zoe looked like it would be a good, basic, everyday option from Fantasie, so I gave it a try despite the fact that the styling is pretty different from what I am typically drawn to from the brand. However, this turned out to be a huge fail. Not only is the style not to my taste, the fit is quite possibly one of the worst I've tried from Fantasie, as it is based off of the styles that really don't suit me at all (Harriet, Estelle, Alex). However, Zoe's cups are quite rigid and double-lined with firm tricot, so the fit is even less forgiving. ... Overall, this bra ended up giving me horrible orange-in-a-glass cups that are empty and wrinkly all around.
The aesthetic of Zoe is quite similar to Lois, as it is not feminine, floral, and frilly like most Fantasie styles. I tried this in solid Black, and the bra I received had a dot-and-stripe texture in the body fabric, floral lace upper cups, textured picot-edged straps, and very simple square grosgrain bows. The fabric is a bit thicker than the silky fabric used on their printed bras, and is not soft and stretchy like the Alex fabric. I've found that the rigid cups are really tough for me in Fantasie styles, so I've learned to avoid them. While this could be a good bra for someone, I couldn't evaluate it properly to determine what shapes it might be best for. You might have better luck if Harriet, Estelle, and Alex work for you, though the difference in fabric may make this behave unpredictably. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this style unless you are able to try it on in person. Read more 185 more words
I LOVE this bra. Super comfortable, feels like wearing nothing (except without the support issues of that). A good everyday bra but also still pretty. Inside of the cup has a layer of fine soft mesh between you and the upper lace detail part of the cup. Everything is very soft which is very important to me as I have fibromyalgia and am very sensitive to discomfort. The thin material is great for the hot Aussie summer.
