The underwire is not nearly wide enough, and the gore comes up very high. It sits low on the torso. When freshly scooped, breasts spill a little over the top, but they quickly migrate down. The lace on the edge of the cup shows through shirts.

This just ran a little small on me. I love me CK Showgirls, but this is an older model, and I think it runs smaller than average. I need a 28G in this one for sure. Cute bra, though.

This bra was just all wrong for me. Even if I had gotten it in a size that fit me, I believe that I would have that ever hated east/west boob thing going on. The fabrics and the construction of the bra are nice. The band is stretchy and does not feel tight. The underwire is a bit too tall for me as well.

I really love the appearance of this bra, it seems very luxurious, however it seems to run small in the cup by about a cup size, which made it unwearable for me. It creates a bulging at the top of the cup. Underwires were narrow but fit well, didn't rise too high or rub in the armpit region. Overall very comfortable and good quality, just the wrong size for me.

The Curvy Kate Tempt Me was comfortable and well-made. I like the combination of the red satiny fabric with the black mesh and embroidery, plus the cute buttons on the front. It seems to run about a half cup size small, although I'm not 100% sure of my size right now. The center gore is low, and the wires don't rise up too high or poke under the arms. Unfortunately, plunge styles just don't work for my shape; my boobs always fall out into the middle of the bra and leave empty space at the bottom, no matter the size of the bra.

The 28FF is too small, I probably need at least at 28GG - but it looks like the shape of the plunge will work for me which would be great as I don't have much luck with them. The straps are fully adjustable and the band has three hooks. The cups are padded. The bra was very comfortable on.

I love the look of this bra but the 28FF is unfortunately too small for me - think I'll need a 28G or 28GG. But even with too small cups the bra is very comfy. The cups are padded and it's actually padded not lined. The straps are connected with a triangular piece of fabric that seems to give more lift and are fully adjustable. The decoration of the bra is not very noticeable under a tight shirt. The band is comfortable and has three hooks.

Finally a bra that didn't cut into my breasts at the top!
It was really nice to wear the first time, and after a little while I couldn't feel it, except for the straps where they are attached to the cups. It was quite painful after a while, since they dig into my arm/armpit. I think this will get better with wearing and washing. I don't really wear bras every day at the moment (due to long term illness) so I'm probably easier made uncomfortable by bras.
After wearing for 6 hours and sitting down a lot, the fabric was kind of scratchy at the back and the bottom ... of the wire. I also think this will be better after a few washes.
I haven't had any insane shoulder pain like I usually have with my ill fitting bras.
The shape is nice, not too pointy. I would prefer an even rounder shape, but it looks totally fine with this one https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

EDIT: The straps/wings that cut at my armpit/arm, is quite painful. It really is the only issue with the bra. I am going to try wearing it with an extender, as that might help since its really tight. I'm also looking into altering it (from the strap to the wire) by shortening the height by just 1/2 a centimetre. If I sort of fold that part a bit, I experience no discomfort, but as it can't stay folded on its own, I might sew it.
I think it's mostly an issue because I'm overweight, and have some fat in that area (well, in most areas really!) and because I'm just really sensitive https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Edit no 2: the band feels wrong. It slides down in the front and I think my boobs look too east west. I haven't altered it yet, but I might.
I'm thinking about just selling it though. I haven't really worn in much and it looks fine, so it's a shame that its just lying around.

    • Try Nesoas Alteration for moving the straps. Ihttp://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html It changes shape as well :)

    • Thank you! That's helpful :)

  9. Emily Balcony Bra (CK5001)

I fit in the Emily in both 38H and 38HH. I would say the 38H is a little too small in the cup, but not enough to be bothersome. I don't get digging in at the top of the cup, but I do get a bit of the "upside-down 7" shape on my bigger side. I get great support and lift in this bra. In the H cup I feel snug and strapped-in, which I like.

I love the Emily. This is my third one. Everything about it suits me. The center gore lies flat and is comfy. The underwires don't dig or poke anywhere. The fabric is soft and pretty. The band is nice and snug.

I got this in the seafoam and pink colourway, which is really ohhhh so cute on. Unfortunately though, it was a miss. This was my first try with curvy kate unpadded in anything resembling my size, and we had issues.

The front view is pretty good looking as far as I can tell, but once I turn sideways it's that pointy in an odd way shape CK can give. I appreciate that the center gore is, if not low, much lower than I've been used to with superbras.

The wires, though, seem to be both too short and too narrow for me, especially in the bottom, which runs sorta ... counter to what I've read elsewhere. I'm definitely getting Orange in a glass, and not filling the bottoms of the cups. I'm not sure if sizing up would help, and might put up a fit request later.
On the plus side, the cups of this bra felt SO SOFT to me, just fingering the material. My main point of comparison is Panache's mesh, and this feels way way nicer to me. The band is also hugging my back much more nicely, without the tendency to curl panache has had, though I can't say how it holds up over time since I won't be keeping this.

EDIT: When I took it off at the end of the day, there were weird little puckered holes in the mesh part of the band near the cup. I'm not sure if they were there before I put the bra on and I didn't notice them, or if they happened in one day's wear, but either way they seem like a serious quality issue. I've worn much tighter bands without anything like this, and this was probably the least noticeable band while wearing I've had in a while.

    • The Portia in this color has a different style to the older colors/styles of CK bras. Not sure if the other bras from the same season were also changed. This one definitely has wires more narrow than a typical CK bra.

    • Good to know, thanks! Hmm, that makes figuring out a ck size in anything else even trickier.

Ping alisa She has talked to CK about it and have info about which bras are changed :)

As soon as I took it out of the box I knew the cups were too large at the top, but under a t-shirt it didn't matter. I wore this bra for one day and it served me well. The band and straps were comfortable. The gore and underwire on my sternum got on my nerves after several hours. Aside from that (and the nagging feeling of the cups being empty at the top), this is very nice bra. I wish I had ordered the proper size!

Like any Curvy Kate bra with a small band, the underwire dug into my sternum in a painful way when I tried this on. I used a cotton pad to counteract this effect but the cups were too large anyway. Other than that, the straps and band were just right. No discomfort under my arms and it's a very cute style.

Much, much prettier than pics show with super soft fabric. No spillover/quad boob. Straps are far apart and keep slipping off my shoulders. Underwires are wide but there's no poking.

    * Note that I typically wear a 32 band in CK but HAD to buy this since on clearance at Brastop. Using extender since bra is brand new, but am able to fasten w/o.

I really like this bra, but unfortunately cannot speak to its accurate fit, because the size I currently have is a little too large in the cups. The band is a great fit, and I like the results of having three hooks in the back. I imagine the cups would be great, if they were the right size.

The fabric, when its brand new, is a little bit scratchy. I don't find this to be as much of an issue with the bra as it is with the panties. I expect this would soften with time, however.

This bra is very pretty and has wires long enough to accommodate for my wide and shallow breasts. It doesn't poke at all. However I am fuller on the bottom and the lace part does wrinkle a bit. This could be due to the bra being a bit wrongly shaped for my breasts, or just the way the fabric is. The wrinkliness does go away a bit after extensive swooping and scooping (where did that come from) and good posture

The band is sufficiently tight, but does make a bit of the "back fat" prominent, which can be fixed with swooping and scooping.

    The bows are so pretty!

Very pretty with shoulder straps rather far apart. A year ago, I would have claimed the 32GG fit since the quad boob isn't too bad and could just be considered nice cleavage. But now ... yeah, it's too small in the cups. *Sigh*

  18. Emily Balcony Bra (CK5001)

This was once my favourite bra. It gives me nice lifted and separated boobs and I mostly forget I'm wearing it. The top of the cup is a bit stretchy so it accommodates the fact that my boobs are not always the same size (I'm breastfeeding once daily). I think it's prettier in person that in the stock photos. The only tricky part for me is the straps. They are very wide set and it can be hard to get them arranged so they don't irritate my armpits. On the other hand when they are right they do a fantastic job of shaping there too.

ETA: A combination of final weaning and tissue migration means this doesn't fit my current measurements.

"What would you tell a friend with similar boobs about this bra?"
For full-on-top shallow boobs, it's hard to tell when this bra no longer fits until it's 2 or more cups too small. Since it is quite open on top, it doesn't cut into breast tissue in the traditional sense. Rather, it spills over the top when the cup is too small. I would recommend this to somebody who is between cup sizes.

Well, in this case, I actually think that this bra is a very good bra! The material is soft, the straps are nice and stretchy, and it's very beautiful (in Silver/Black). I like the straps a lot - having firm unstretchy straps are a pain.

What I really dislike about this bra is that it shows through clothing because the upper lace is so darn thick. Some people recommend removing the lace, but I would rather not compromise the aesthetics of the bra.

    28F

    Didn't fit

I always heard that the showgirl bras run small in the cup, but I find that to be more true of the Tease Me (haven't tried the Thrill Me) than of the Fleurty, which seems to run more true to size. Someone suggested that that could be because of the higher cups in the Fleurty, so I measured the Fleurty against the Tease me in 28G and 28F. For the 28G, I came up with 5 3/8" (Tease Me) vs. 5 6/8" (Fleurty). For the 28F, I got 4 5/8" (Tease Me) vs 4 7/8" (Fleurty). The Fleurty certainly seems to be consistently higher in the cups, though ... that alone doesn't necessarily prove or disprove anything. Either way, I find that I need a larger cup size in the Tease Me than in the Fleurty, so I wouldn't recommend sizing up for this bra like you would for the other showgirl bras. Of the two bras, I vastly prefer the Fleurty. It gives a lovely rounded shape (I notice that the lace/ribbon on the top of the Tease Me can give the impression of a flattened band across an otherwise round silhouette) with beautiful half moon cleavage, though I would prefer a tiny bit more lace overhang at the top to smooth the transition from bra to skin (the Tease Me does this pretty well). Also, I find that the Fleurty makes a better (though not great) t-shirt bra than does the Tease Me, thanks to the relatively finer detailing on the lace and its fuller coverage over the surface of the bra as opposed the more noticeable lace/ribbon band on the Tease Me.

This particular size is too small for me by a couple sizes, but I don't find the bra to be uncomfortable. Take that with a grain of salt, if you will, since, as sensitive as my skin may be in other ways, I seem to be relatively insensitive to bra discomfort.

The band on the Fleurty is very stretchy (I would probably be happier in a 26 band here, if they made one) and might be more comfortable for people who are new to their correct band sizes and find them to be more unpleasantly constricting than they're used to. There are a lot of complaints about the gore on the showgirl bras, the Fleurty included, but I only found it mildly uncomfortable at first and ended up getting used to it fairly quickly. Now it doesn't bother me at all. That said, I found it more noticeable on the smaller cup sizes, since the gore doesn't come up as high in those. The higher cup sizes, like my correctly sized 28G Fleurty, come up high enough in the gore to miss the more sensitive spot on my sternum that was being hit by the lower gore on the smaller cup sizes. Your mileage may vary, depending on your body proportions, relative sensitivity, etc.
