This bra is so close to being great for me! It's my first attempt at getting a bra using the size recommended to me at the r/abrathatfits/ calculator, and I'm pretty impressed. The good: The gore tacks flat to my sternum, and is neither to wide nor too narrow. The bra feels sturdy and the band is perfect. The straps get short enough for me (which has been a problem in the past). I've only worn it to try it on, but the fabric feels firm enough to hold its shape all day. Also, the bows are incredibly adorable!
The bad: The gore, while sitting beautifully, is just too ...high. In fact, and this is just a preference, the whole bra comes up higher than I'd prefer on my chest. Also in the 'purely preference' catagory-- I feel like the bra doesn't quite flatter my shape the way I'd like. I look more bottom heavy than I am in it. The cup size is just slightly too big-- even on my larger breast, I get a bit of gaping at the top. But most noticably, the bra is just too wide for me. The underwire extends an inch or slightly more past my root, and the sides of the cups feel empty, with some resulting wrinkling at the bottom. The tops of the cups run into my armpits, causing discomfort.
In short, it's a lovely bra that would work beautifully on someone with slightly larger and wider breasts. Read more 140 more words
Very pretty balconette bra. The band fits me perfectly, it seems. The cup is slightly small though on my larger boob, it's not quite overspill but there is some cutting into the tissue on the top of the cup. The centre gore starts out resting against my ribcage, but quickly lifts just a bit. I think this is due to the cups being slightly too small. They are wide enough but could be deeper for me. The color combination is very pretty too, the dark wine with dark blue indigo...
I will write a review of this bra for my blog in due course but for now here is a brief summary.
I LOVE this bra - it is so simple and pretty. I was longing for it to work for me.
The top half of the cups are made from a sheer fabric with an embroidered edge which is very sexy. The candy pink bows and stitching are a girlie contrast to the elegant black and bring a bit of fun to the bra. The fabrics used are of high quality and feel wonderfully soft but durable.
The band is reasonably firm and the section between the ...cups is not stretchy.
The straps are narrower than some large cupped bras which makes a nice change. They are fully adjustable and have circular rings attaching them to the bra's band. There are three rows of three hooks and eyes.
Sadly it was no good for me in 32K as it was still too small in the cups and cut into my upper breast tissue. Interestingly, however, the cups were too wide, meaning that yet again I had found a bra which was too shallow for me. Read more 89 more words
Well, this one is better for me than the Princess or the Emily, but it still doesn't work. It is a bit more supportive because the lower section of the cup is a nice firm satin material, and this is a larger amount of the cup than the lace part. Also the seam runs diagonally from low in the middle to high on the sides (just inside the strap attachment point) so it doesn't have the "square" effect that the Princess and especially the Emily did.
The cups seem a little wider than on the others too. The band is made of fairly stretchy mesh and is not ...very supportive. It is quite comfortable for a fancy bra that doesn't really fit me, though! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> Other than the fact that the straps are too narrow and dig in, that is.
Overall, Curvy Kate bras will be best for those with fairly perky boobs who don't need a lot of lift. And they don't really work well in the upper end of the size range. Again, it's possible that if I could get this in like a 32L or so it would fit better, but that's less clear than with the Princess.
I like the pink stitching on the black part, it would be nice if there was some pink in the lace cup edging too. Read more 120 more words
