  1. Della Balconnet Bra (9111)

Hallelujah! The 3rd time is the charm for this bra. I'm glad I listened to everyone's advice to size down! Now there's no gaping up top and I have that smooth, round look. Now that I have this bra in the right size, I can see it's very closed on top! Unfortunately, this style is not for the FOT among us, the black trim will definitely cut in. However, it closes just perfectly on my FOB self. There's a tiny diagonal wrinkle on my smaller side, but I can definitely deal with it. The immediate projection seems good and it seems to be staying in my IMF. The wire length is also a bit narrower than typical Panache. The gore is a bit more separated but it's low enough to not bother me. Again, the band runs a size large, stretching to 32. I would recommend this bra for those who are FOB, narrow to average, and projected.

Another success with a "Complete Assurance" recommendation from Bratabase. Cool! I'd usually never try a 30F..

So, based on the complete failure 30Fs I've tried before, I'd say this runs small in the cup. The band fits tighter - nice and firm.

The design isn't my cup of tea - the frills on the panties are so dainty! But you know I love my matching sets .. The pink + the ruffles is super feminine, wouldn't be my first color choice .. but it was a great price!

I'd say I still prefer my Cleo Lucy in 30E - the wires seem narrower, the shape and lift seems slightly more pleasing, and the design is less frilly.

My shape: center-set teardrop with very wide and very tall roots, very close-set tissue in the middle, and firm tissue that doesn't take compression well.

I just received this bra in a swap. The print is pretty cute, and although the combination with the lace seems a little strange, I could probably grow to like it. Unfortunately, this is just a big shape mismatch for me. First, the cups: There's definitely not enough immediate projection at the bottom, and even though the cup isn't molded or even padded, it still slips down to try and seat the breast in the most ample part. On the other hand, there is ... way too much projection on the top, which means that this sits like a bullet bra on my super tall and shallow-esque roots. The very top edge is actually almost the right size, but there is a lot of extra fabric between there and the apex, which just means that I don't think this is very good for tall-roots (maybe not FOT either? Not sure, because I am not FOT).

The fact that the cups ride down also makes the wires dig into my center tissue. I think they would be a little more comfortable if I could get them to sit half an inch higher, even though at that point they would be solidly on top of my boobs, but no luck. The gore is also a little too wide, but that happens with lots of bras for me, so not necessarily a mark against this one. Either way, after 20 minutes it's pretty irritating, if not exactly the painful bruising I have experienced with other problem gores.

The wires are strange. I don't think they take up the whole channel because the top edge of the band under my arm is distorted by the breast tissue pushing on it, but I can't seem to shift them along inside the channel, either. As is typical with almost all bras, they are also slightly too steep of a curve for my roots, but as is also typical, it doesn't bother me much. What does bother me is the end of the wire poking me there because it's too short, and if it could just reach the top edge it wouldn't be.

The fabric feels a little cheap, I think, but it is smooth and soft enough that there is no scratching or itching.

The band might be a little too tight on me, actually, but aside from the slight bulging of the fabric on the wings, it's comfortable and I can still pull it away from my back enough for 2 fingers. A 32 on the second or tightest might have fixed this, but I can't find my extender to check, and I probably won't be ordering a different size because of the aforementioned issues.

The straps adjust long enough for me. There is a slight dig at the front of my armpit when I go to reach across myself, but that is more likely the edge of the cup, and also would probably be aided by loosening it another hook or two.

Fits perfectly. Very similar to the Cleo Ellis and Kira bras that I own. I am finding that my size is going up and I may need to start saying goodbye to my 30E bras which makes me sad. The embroidery is cute but I'm not really a fan of the print. Still, it gives a really nice shape and the top lace lays flat all around so this bra is a win.

I'm finding lately I'm a 28G or so in molded cups, and a 28FF in most unlined bras. Is it common to be a size down in unlineds? Works the same for the Freya unlined bra I tried vs their padded half cups or Decos. Anyways, I searched high and low for a 28FF swan print and couldn't find it anywhere, and since I wanted to try this bra so bad and was so in love with the swan print, I settled on a sister size and prayed the band would run tight.

Well, it's not a tight band, but I've worn worse. It's on the ... middle set of hooks. I think the swan print is a love/hate thing - either it's your thing or it's not. I think it's quirky and cute and different.

I really, really, really like this bra. Even though it's not perfect, I like it a million times better than the Lucy, because it's not mesh and not lace and doesn't itch! At all! That's huge for my sensitive skin. I like it enough I've worn it the last two days.

There's wrinkling at the top in my smaller breast and minor quadding in my bigger breast when freshly scooped. I swear that's a problem in every single bra. My right boob would be swimming in a 28G or 30FF though. The quadding goes away as my boob "settles" - someone on ABTF mentioned it could be because I have soft tissue and it's easy to over-scoop tissue into a bra that isn't really breast tissue, and since my tissue is soft it settles down quickly. It made sense.

This is the narrowest cup width I've tried to date, measuring 5.25. It's not uncomfortable, although I feel like maybe the wings and/or wire come up a bit short on my left & bigger side. I took my 5.5" wide Deco off a couple nights ago and took pictures of the wire indentation marks and they're spaced away from where I believe my root is, and also below my IMF, so I really think narrower and more projection is better for me, assuming I've correctly identified my actual root.

When I raise my arm, there's a vertical wrinkle all up the side of the cup, I have no clue why. This is the first bra I've ever owned that brings my boobs to the center and into my frame. It's crazy! It feels like a very uplifted, rounded, centered shape, and it's good enough that I might hunt around for another one.

From what I've heard it's pretty normal to be a size smaller in unlined styles. For some reason, unlined cups tend to fit a little deeper than foam cups.

this is my best overall fitting bra. I found it to be consistent on size compared to the bulk of the Cleo bras I've tried. It lays relative flat under tees. Unfortunately with the bright color I can only use it under darker clothes. I have seen it listed as neon green - I think the color is more of a neon lemon-lime.

I'm super happy with this bra.
So in love with it that I'm tempted to wear it again today. But I must resist.

The wires are much wider than expected, but I guess maybe I should've expected that for a 30F.

This also fits my left boob, but there's extra fabric at the top of my right cup.
I'm tempted to swap for 30E, but at the same time, I wore this out yesterday and had little problems (only wrinkling in the top right cup).

It IS shark week, so I may not be so fortunate in a few days. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
    I'll update again Wednesday.

For now, here's how ... I feel about my first Cleo:

I love it. I'd chose this over a lot of other unlined bras I have.

Even though I feel as if the pattern is simultaneously really ugly and really cute, and even though my top right cup wrinkles.

The wires were a big let down though.
I've been reading that Cleos mostly have narrow wires, and maybe I just got one of the ones that runs wide. Though, I DO probably need a 30E.
I'm also still off of spironolactone, and losing weight, so I'm not set on keeping this long term(but I want to). Definitely need the 30E.

Cup depth, great for the left boob.
    Center gore, PERFECT.
No separation in the gore, the wires touch.
No tapering off to the sides in the cups.

Tha band is impressive and taut.
And, I both love and feel quesy about the design..but it's mostly love.

The shape it gives is one which I prefer.
Similar to the Freya Siren and Starlet on me, just a lifted, FoB, perky shape.
Cleo's shape is much more rounded out than pointy like Freya though, which I prefer.
It's the shape I like, perfected.

I will definitely be purchasing more unlined Cleos.
Hopefully I can find a 30E in this, and hopefully this bra doesn't get too big on me in a few days, but I normally don't expand out(measurements don't change), just fill out all around, so I don't know. I'll update.

This bra is probably good for even to FoT shapes. Which is why it fits my left boob and not my right.
I'd really like to see this in 30E and see if I get quadboob in my left or not. I'm sure it should fit the right.

Also, the wires on this are probably more average to semi wide.
Cup depth is about 10", give or take.
In any case, I'm really happy that I found this bra and can't wait to try out the 30E. I'll likely be keeping the 30F for now, unless the left cup starts wrinkling or I find a 30E that fits better.

I think at 10" depth, I'm not going to last long with this unfortunately https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

Cleo's semi-sheer classic in bright raspberry with a polka-dotted little white bow on the center gore. The upper cups are made of non-elastic lace. Straps are fully adjustable and fairly wide set. The shape is pretty round and the bra not too covering.

I own this balcony bra in purple too and as I had a little quadboob tendency with my 30F - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) I ordered this colorway in both in 30F and 30FF - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831). This proved unnecessary as the raspberry one fits perfectly well in 30F. Measurements are pretty much the same for both so I don't have any explanation for the somewhat tighter fit of the purple one.

    • The raspberry is definitely a stretchier fabric, and apparently the red was too. I'm having problems with the stretchiness

    • 1

Oh that's a pity for you, but a slightly stretchier fabric would explain my observations. For me it appears to make those little difference between pretty well fitting and perfect fit.

    • 1

Haha yes - Floris is supposed to be the same cut, but fits me better because its absolutely solid, unyeilding fabric. I'm a 32J, though, so I've got a lot of weight pushing on that fabric.

    • 1

As far as I can tell from the pictures the cups Panache Floris Balconnet Bra (7311) are made of a more sturdier fabric instead of the double layered mesh you have on the marcie. I imagine this make a big difference in your size range.

    • 1

Exactly - the Floris is a smooth, heavy fabric. I definitely need to wash after 2 or 3 wears, though - even if i only wear it once a week.

    • 1

Oh this I have to do with my Marcies as well. Latest after the third wear the gore starts to feel somewhat uncomfortable. After washing everything is fine again :)

    • sunbird : will you be selling the 30FF?

    • I'm sorry as the bra was part o a bigger order I've already returned it. But I will probably be selling the purple 30F.

Like my Cleo Pixie, this bra fits me almost perfectly. It is just slightly less projected than my Pixie, but this has very minimal effect on the look and shape of my breasts when I wear it. I only notice a slight quad-boob effect right around my time of the month, when everything feels a little tighter!

I have quite projected breasts for my 30F shape, and this bra does a nice job of encapsulating all my breast tissue and projecting it forward. I would consider myself an even/FOB shape (and rate myself a 2/5 on the /r/abrathatfits fit guide over on Reddit). The straps never slip, the back never rides up too high or too low, and I still have room to adjust both the straps and the hooks as the bra gets older.

It is another sturdy excellent make from Cleo in my opinion!

I have this bra in a different size and loved it, but recently I've gone up a size. Still like this bra, but I would definitely consider going down in the band size and up in the cup size: the band tends to stretch over time. Otherwise, it's a nice, supportive bra that gives an awesome shape. The vertical seem is ever-so-slightly noticeable under a t-shirt, but nothing major. The little bit of padding is just enough for modesty and shape but doesn't add volume. And yes, the lace is unruly, but gets softer/better after a couple of washes.

I really like the boost this bra gives to my boobs, the band fits well and the straps are not too uncomfortable. There is an ever so slight gap near my armpits, but it's hardly noticeable and the bra looks great under shirts.

I've had this bra for quite some time now, and feel that I can say with confidence that it is by far my favourite bra! Here's why:

This bra fits my even FoB, projected shape perfectly. The cups of this bra are very deep which gives me a lot of room. It unfortunately does not create a perfectly rounded shape, but more of a pointed shape (I believe this is due to the depth and projection of the cups) but it is not a huge concern for me. All my breast tissue is encapsulated by the cups and project forward, so from the front I look quite a bit ... smaller than I do in other bra styles.

The band stays put all day long and is very firm, yet comfortable. The straps never slip. Also, the pattern and colour of this bra is just beautiful! I have quickly made this my favourite bra and practically wear it every day.

If you have fairly even FoB (image 2/5 on /r/abrathatfits) breasts and need some room and projection in your cups, I would recommend trying the Cleo Pixie!

I've just purchased the Cleo Nyla bra (it should be fairly similar in size, style and shape as it is based on the Pixie) and can't wait to review it here; it just has to arrive first!

Oh boy this bra is big!! I have pink Marcie 30F that fits, but this one has waaay bigger cups!! I measured the cup depth 26 cm!

I´ve read that the pink Marcie runs smaller all over than other colour variations, but I´ve also read a review, that mentioned pink being a little smaller but that didn´t affect the fit in her case. That´s why I ordered 30F. I will be exchanging it for 30E.

The band is nice and snug, okay for me. My tight underbust measurement is 26 inches and I usually need 28 band. So the band runs (at least almost) as small in Pixie than in ... the pink (and other colours?) Marcie.

Otherwise this is like Marcie (pink), I guess. Materials are of course different, this has less lace.

The shorts are also bigger than in pink Marcie. I need UK14 in pink Marcie, but Pixie shorts UK14 fit quite loose, but I´m still going to keep them, because I don´t like tight shorts. It could be that UK12 would be better, but I m not going to risk it. I usually wear EU M / UK12.

    • How is the cup shape? Is it open on top, or is it more closed? Are the cups deep? The Marcie is a little bit too deep for me, so I hope the Pixie is more shallow like the Melissa because it's so freakin cute! :)

    • I just want to add here that the cup shape seems like the Cleo Meg Balconnet (6751) to me more than the Marcie

    • dang. it. :( I was REALLY hoping that was not the case, because I LOVE this print. Lately it feels like all the george-cut balconettes have been more Meg-shaped... I want the Melissa shape back :(

    • Sorry, but I cannot estimate the shape anymore, because I already sent the bra back :(

However, this is supposed to be cut like Marcie and I didn´t question it. I think the cup shape was the same than Marcie but this I can say for sure when the 30E arrives.

I am so excited to find this bra. I have been unsuccessful with moulded cups due to my soft full on bottom shape. I usually have a ton of empty space in the top of the cup. This bra is different. I still have empty space on my smaller side (plus the bra arrived squished on that side so it is poking out a bit there too). However on my larger side it fits perfectly. It lifts from the root and gives a nice bit of cleavage. The shape is perfect. It is a little plungy but my soft tissue doesn't spill out into the middle. The band seems pretty firm, which is good because I had to order the 30F because the 28FF was sold out in Black and the "Nude" that they had is not nude on me. I am glad that I read the reviews that the cup runs small. I definitely would overflow a smaller cup. I am a 28F in my Bella, and Lucy, and Millie. I have the Marcie in a 30E.

This is the pink colour which is said to run small in the cups (I heard this after purchasing 30E)!!
I normally wear 28F so I got pink Marcie in 30E, because I read its band runs small. 30E was too small in the cups, band was okay. That´s why I got 30F.

The cups are the right size now. The shape is not ideal for me ( it makes my boobs round but they sit very "low") but technically it fits. The cups are okay but barely so, if I pull my shoulders back the top of cups cuts in slightly. The lace isn´t stretchy at all, if it ... was, it would be better. There is sometimes very slight wrinkling in the nipple area, so bigger cups wouln´t do. (I think my boobs are shallow but I have tall root). However, the wrinkling is not always there.

The band is good and tight enough, I wear it in the loosest hooks. Straps adjust all the way.

The only problem I have with this bra is wires!! They poke me in into sternum and under armpits https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> This is not that bad, I´m able to wear the bra and I hope this problem will go away after I wear it. Maybe I could also bend the wires. We´ll see!

EDIT. I bended wires a little and the bra is okay now. It is comfortable enough while wearing it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I bought this to compare with the 30FF version of the same bra. This fits a lot better than the 30FF. Compared to the Cleo Lucy (5851), the cups are bigger especially on the top section. I would say the cups on this bra is more comparable to other Cleo bras of the same size I own.

    First impressions:

I noticed there was a dent along the top seam (where the bottom half meets the upper mesh) when I tried on the bra. When I pull the top edge of the cup slightly, the dent goes away. I'm not really sure if that ... seam is actually denting the breast tissue or if it's because the upper mesh is looser so it looks like it's denting. It's not noticeable under most of the tops I own, so for me it's ok.

The shape it gives me is rounded and close to the chest. Compared to my other Cleo bras, I didn't think it gave as much uplift, but I think the shape it nice.

The band feels less stable and stretchier than other bras of the same size I own. Would I go down a band size? Probably not, because I think a 28 would be too tight.

Overall, I really like the appearance of the bra, but the fit isn't perfect on me. The flaws don't really bother me, so I'm going to keep the bra, although I wouldn't buy the same style again.

First thing's first: the band is very tight compared to the other 30 bands I own. I've been using with the extender hooked onto the tightest set of eyes, so it feels like as if the bra came with 4 sets of eyes. In my opinion this feels nice and firm, kind of like the Cleo Meg when I first got it. When the extender is hooked on the second set of eyes, it also feels firm, although I haven't worn the bra all day at this setting so I can't write what it feels like. I will update this review when I get ... the chance to do so.

Would I recommend going up a band size? Probably not, since the stretched band of the 32E is about 5cm bigger than the bands of my well fitted bras. Although if you have a chance to try on both, you'll be able to make a better judgement on which fits you better.

The cups fit nicely. My breasts are fuller on top, and with this bra I don't get any cutting in at the tops of the cups. The shape is also nice and rounded with good lift. I would say compared to the Cleo Lizzie, it feels like there's less breast coverage with the cups. Overall, I feel well supported. I haven't had any problems with pokey underwires, but I'll probably need to bend the centre gore outwards as with my other bras I own.

Stylewise, I like the print a lot, especially the mesh portion. I think the colours go well together, and I agree with cbear that the clouds remind me of Super Mario clouds. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> My only real complaints are:

    - I wish the cups were a mesh material like the Cleo Lucy and Lizzie. I just like mesh for some reason.

    - The tag on the back is really annoying. The bra itself feels comfortable but the tag does not.

Update: I wore the bra yesterday with the extender hooked on the second set of eyes and I found that the bra was comfortably snug, I would say slightly more comfortable than with the extender hooked on the tightest set of eyes. Just for fun, here's the bra's stretched band measurement with the extender attached.

Tightest setting (like having 4 sets of eyes instead of 3): 76.5cm (approximately 30")
Second set of hooks (like having 5 sets of eyes instead of 3): 78cm (approximately 30 3/4")
Loosest setting (like having 6 sets of eyes instead of 3): 80cm (approximately 31.5")

Update2: I've been wearing the bra with the extender on the loosest setting so I feel that I should have bought the 32E instead.

What everyone says about this bra giving a very rounded shape is true. The profile is unbelievably hemispherical. I can't figure out how they achieved a half cup look with an unlined, unpadded, sheer, seamed balconette bra.

What I love about the Cleo Marcie:
    (1) Perfectly rounded shape
    (2) Gorgeous, true red color
    (3) Sheer fabric--very pretty lace and mesh
    (4) This 30F Cleo Marcie fits as smoothly as my 30F Fantasie Serene (unlined, unpadded, seamed) and 30F Fantasie Rebecca (padded, seamless) bras. The Marcie's lightweight, sheer cups, however, are obviously tighter and therefore sexier than the Fantasies' cups. The look fits with the vibe the Cleo line is going for. The ... Cleo Marcie fits as well as the 28G Bravissimo Tanzania Stripe (unpadded halfcup) bra I got the same day last week. ( I had realized my 28F Bravissimo Tanzania Stripe bras don't fit that well anymore, if they ever did.)

Why I'm returning the Cleo Marcie:
    (1) The underwires are too low on the sides. Breast tissue escapes and bulges above the bra, underneath my arms. This will make this bra not good for underneath sleeveless tops. All my bras, but especially the sheer ones, need to work under sleeveless tops so I can wear them during the summer.
    (2) The straps are too wide-set and dig into my shoulder/arm area.
    (3) The material is a bit scratchy.

If I didn't get the side bulges, I'd keep the bra and deal with the straps digging in and the scratchiness. I think the latter would be solved with a few hand washings. The band feels a bit too tight, but of course I could use an extender for a while.
