I'm new at this and this is the first soft cup bra I own. It doesn't seem to fit quite right (wrinkling on top and on the sides). I'm thinking the cups are way too big and the wires might be too wide for me ?
I appreciate any suggestions and informations you might have https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Band is a little too tight on me, boobs fill the cups fine. Seems to hold my boobs lower than I would like, but it's fairly round which i like. Gets more uncomfortable the longer I wear it, especially on the sides. I might put this in my rotation
Band a bit tight, maybe I just need to break it in. Doesn't give as round of a shape I would like. Cups fit well, but it hurts my sides after wearing for several hours. I don't find the mesh material very comfortable. Gore a bit raised against sternum.
I am enamored by any black floral design. I love how this bra looks! It is also higher quality than other Cleo's I've tried! It is unfortunately too small for me. I am in the process of trying to loose 15ish pounds though so I may end up keeping this bra for a while in case I actually make my goal weight.
If your breast size varies through the month, this is a great bra to complement the Cleo Lucy. This is a bit bigger in the cups for the same size. Comfortable every day bra. Melon colored bra has cute charcoal center ribbon and contrast edging on the bottom. Polka dots are cute.
Quite comfortable. Great every day bra. Sheer and pretty, not va-va-va-voom sexy. Shows only as one would expect a seamed bra to show under clothes. Great for sweaters, blouses and lined dresses but not recommended for close fitting T-shirts. Surprisingly, smaller cups than the Cleo Marcie of the same size.
Still trying it and it fits really great. I love the feel of the straps and the shape thebra give me. I think this bra is the closes I've had to an absolutely perfect fit. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The band runs true to size. Cups were too deep at the apex so there were empty spaces along the top lace and in front of my nipples. Gore was very painful on my close-set breasts.
I bought this hoping it would be a good shape match and it might be, but I don't know because this size is too small unfortunately. Came with a pair of panties.
Review is based on a trial, not on long-term wear. But! The bra fit me well, one of my best two. 28dd, which I wear usually, was way too small in the cups, so I sized up to 28E. The band is nice and tight. The cups may turn out to be a problem in the long run: when I stand up straight, they lie very flat against my breasts, but if I inhale extensively or start bending, the quadboob steps in. But it's a nice smooth look for everything I've tried this bra with, and the moulded cup gives a great lift.
I have even, shallow breasts, with somewhat tall roots,
Though I vaguely recall the bra cutting into the top of my breasts when I first tried it on in February, it fits perfectly now (I updated my measurements just in case).
Feels like a standard 28" Cleo band, but with a low gore and a partial band.
First unlined bra that I've tried, I'm amazed at the uplift and the weightlessness (this coming from someone who was basically keeping the push-up bra industry alive with how many I own/owned). I'm definitely not going back. However, this bra isn't perfect, the cups wrinkle a bit on the upper lace section on me (still trying to figure out my shape/ideal bras for said shape), though it's not visible under clothing. After all those push-up bras, too, the shape surprised me—it's nowhere near those perfectly rounded, padded cups, in a good way. My breasts look like... breasts. My skin is extraordinarily sensitive to material, and so far the lace/mesh has not created any abrasion/irritation, but some portion of the band/closure periodically stabs—I believe it's the "seam" around the end edge of the band with the eyes on it, not the hook side. Not sure whether I'll keep yet, but still a game-changer of a bra.
My first Cleo Marcie. I have a couple of fit questions, so I'm posting this as an adventure. But first, the pros and cons.
Pros: a shade of orange I like! It isn't too loose on the side between the band and shoulder strap, like my default Freyas. No foam, yay! Bare Necessities sale ftw!
Cons: lace on the smaller boob is gaping, which is inevitable but drives me crazy.
How I'm shaped: I'm super-petite. My breasts are proportionately short but also have wide roots that extend under my armpits, very splayed east-west, projected, kind of close together (one finger, not two), FOB, kind of empty on top, with broad ...shoulders and a bony chest. My default bra of the last several months is a Freya Ooh La La in 28DD. So comfy, but it gaps slightly on the sides between band and shoulder strap and I tend to quad over the gore.
Questions: 1. Okay, first, the gore was not lying flat at first. It was laying against one breast or the other, as you can see in the cleavage shot. Then after a few minutes of wear, the gore folded evenly into my cleavage, with one wire on each side of the vertical fold. I guess the good thing is I'm not quadding over the gore in this bra? Should I be looking for low-gore bras? And are there any that meet my other shape needs?
2. As you can see in the angle and side view, there's a ton of mammary tissue on the sides of my breasts, but only up high, above the line of the nipple. Where should I be putting the tape measure in the cup depth/sternum-across-the-nip-to-ribs measurement? At nipple-level, I hit ribs an inch or more before I do if I'm measuring higher up. Any advice? I've noticed I get wildly different Bratabase recommendations depending on where I measure, but basically I just don't know how to match my shape.
I think that looks pretty good on you! The marcie lace usually was loose on my smaller side, too, but never showed under clothes, so I didnt worry.
and i cant answer about recommendations, those never worked for me
As far as the measurements go, the breast tissue up high sounds like your tail of spence, aka the part of your breast that attaches to your shoulder muscle. It's normal to not have that inside your bra.
If, however, you have breast tissue in your actual armpit that's being bisected by the wires, the hard wires of your Marcie will hurt over time. Wear the bra for a couple minutes, then take it off and push your breast (bigger side) against your chest. Does it look like the wire follows the edge of your tissue on the side? You should be able to see a line on the outside of your breasttissue. If it's overlapping your tissue you need a wider wire. Also, that's what you should measure, at the nipple line. If you scroll to the bottom of Renzilla's page here you should be able to see her wire marks around her breast tissue to see what I'm talking about: https://themusingsofrenzilla.wordpress.com/2017/02/28/cleo-juna-34dd-alterations/
Basically, if it doesn't hurt, don't fix it. There are always exceptions to every rule, but in most healthy people, pain means problem and no pain means no problem. Try a narrower or shorter gore if you like, but it sounds like you have firm tissue. If your tissue can push Cleo wires around, it should be fine .... unless it hurts!
If you like Marcie, but don't like the gaping lace, try Cleo Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) which is Marcie with stretch lace.
cupandahalf Oh, wow, that is super-helpful! Thank you! (I just spent an age following links and going through the Bratabase cup depth charts in two of my sizes. So much great data!) In my case, the top of the wires are poking into tail of spence-adjacent tissue, but it isn't bad enough to hurt. It would if the wires were any narrower, but I think the Marcie will work for me.
maddy2596 Thank you! That's kind of where I'm at: the ends of the wires poke at the side tissue somewhat, but not enough to bother me -- at least on a regular, non-PMS day. Thanks also for the advice re Hettie!
This bra seems to run a hair large in the cups, maybe about half a cup size. Band is TTS. As others have said, it definitely has lots of room for upper and inner fullness. I have tall roots and am FOT, but the lace doesn't quite lay flat on me, especially near the gore. However, it's not very noticeable. Although the smallness of my 28DD Marcie is barely noticeable, I much prefer the Izzy and its looseness. The Izzy gives me what I would call the "natural round basketballs" Marcie shape that the Marcie itself did not.
This is the first unlined bra I've had that actually fits with no gaping or pouching. It just fits my boobs just right! I'd read the other reviews saying that this is like the Marcie, and I was confused because Marcie is supposed to be for FoT types. I am evenly full and it fits well, with lots of immediate projection. I also have tall roots and this is open on top enough for me. It may be that I am actually more evenly full than I had previously thought. The band is quite tight, and I wear an extender for now. The back band itches a lot.
I have yet to actually go out and wear it, but from how it feels and looks like just trying it on is surprising. It feels very nice, if only a bit tight because of the unstretched band. The gore lies flat. And I'm pretty sure that it encompasses my breast tissue entirely. It holds my bigger breast almost perfectly, and just a tad bigger on my smaller breast. But I cannot comment on how it wears yet.
i heard that the Riley is a more closed on top Maddie. i ordered it immediately, thinking that maybe this is the cleo bra that's gonna work!
it is definitely more closed on top, for sure. the outer half of the cups still gaped a bit on me, but the inner half did not. which makes sense, my tissue is fuller on the inner half than the out. my roots are tall, but I'm very empty on top.
It's too shallow on the bottom, but I'm not projected enough for the center.
I think that looks pretty good on you! The marcie lace usually was loose on my smaller side, too, but never showed under clothes, so I didnt worry.
