    Didn't fit

This bra is obviously too small. I ordered this in a 32J because there are no bigger sizes available. I wanted to try it, because I love the color. Reviews stated that the cups run big. My usual size in CK would be 32JJ. On the other side all of their bras (besides the Victory) are so wrong for my shape that it is difficult to guess if I got the correct size. I have very center heavy and tall boobs. This bra does not much to contain my boobs inside the cups. The band seems to be tts / even a bit small for a 32 band.

I would recommend this bra for short roots and not very center heavy boobs. Also I found the materials a bit wear, I'm not sure it would hold up for daily wear (at my size). I also disliked the ring detail where the cup meets the straps at the front. While it looks cute, I think it could dig in and be uncomfortable.

    • I got it in a 30FF and was so sad it wasn’t a good fit. The wires on the side were both too wide and too short. Normally, I am all over short wings, but it’s quite uncommon for a plunge to have lower wings on the side. They did nothing to actually be plungey iykwim. I’m naturally splayed, and the bra kept my shape as such, instead of pushing my boobs together as a plunge should. Disappointed to say the least.

  2. Ellace Balcony Bra (CK4401)

My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time, and I must say, the more times I wear this bra, the more I like it. This bra was recommended to me here on Bratabase and I'm glad I could get it.

The cup is a three part cup with one vertical seam and one horizontal seam. The stretch lace up top is accommodating and fits me well throughout the month as my breasts fluctuate in size. The top seam doesn't cut in either which is nice. I get a small ... wrinkle on the side with this bra (on my the right side which is smaller) but this doesn't bother me. I tried the 32F size and it gave me a lot more wrinkles both on the side and at the top of the stretch lace. The wires okay, a little bit flexible, but not too much. Definitely not as hard as Panache bras!

It gives me a more natural shape, which I have come to love. It's definitely not as rounded as some of the other bras I have, but I still feel uplifted in it. This bra stays put in my IMF pretty much all day so it gives me great support.

The gore width is a little larger than I'd like, if it had overlapping gores if would be perfect. I sort of push my center tissue out into the cup so the gore can tack and lay flat. The gore height is okay (around 2.8" or ~7cm).

About the band, it is pretty firm! I had trouble in the beginning getting used to it. It has a firm elastic running its entire length and I couldn't get the band to stretch a lot for the measurements. The stretched band measurements for the four 32 bras I tried were 28", 28.3", 29.3" and 29.5" (around 71-75 cm). The 30 band size I tried also stretched to 28". So all the bras I tried definitely ran a bit small in the band.

The straps are nice and firm and adjust nicely. They can go super short or long and are fully adjustable.

About its overall look, there's nothing really special about it. It's just a nice regular bra, no fancy embroidery or patterns. It has more of a practical and functional look in the sense that it only has three little bows adorning it. It would be nice to see this bra made in some nice patterns, maybe even another type of fabric. Overall, this was a bra win for me!

Sometimes, the "nice, regular" bras are the best bras...they serve and serve and because they fit so well, they make us feel the best! Celebrate the win. It looks great on you.

I agree. I actually really love the Ellace aesthetic.

    • We seem to have a lot of similarities (full on bottom but tall roots). I'm waiting on a prime wardrobe order that includes this bra and I can't wait to try it!

    • Bootyfoots I hope you like it! Curvy Kate also has a new model, it's called the "Top Spot" that's supposed to be like the Ellace too. This one: http://bra.pe/MHz1/

My shape is full on bottom with tall shallow roots. I told myself I would not buy another pink bra because I don't like pink, but I really wanted to try this bra. The bra is similar to other CK plunges but has an extra wide band with 3 hooks instead of 2. Because the band covers more area I feel like it distributes the pressure better causing less digging in at the gore. The cups are shaped similar to the lifestyle plunge with a lower apex, more open at the top and narrow. The straps consist of 2 thinner straps that are fully adjustable. Like most of my bras I have to adjust them to as long as they will go. The bra is very comfortable and the straps can be a little annoying because they are so thin. I wish the bra was just purple and black with no pink.

    • Looks really cute on you!
Is there boning below the cups and on the sides and does it feel like it could dig in?

    • 1

Below the cup there a thicker seam, I feel it but doesn't bother me. On the side there is flexible plastic boning which I cannot feel at all.

    • 1

I’m pretty fat and the boning doesn’t bother me on the sides either. It’s very soft and flexible. I love this bra!

    Didn't fit

Fit: the band runs at least one size small. It distorts the cups to hook the bra on the loosest hooks to the point where the cups do very weird things- see the first set of pictures of me busting out of the bra.

So I assessed the fit with a full nonstretch extender. It is still too small. I think it’s deep enough at the wire but generally a size too small. It could also be more centered, but there does appear to be some center room. Probably the plunge helps that. The material is fairly thick and strong.

The bra itself is really well made, soft and comfortable.

Ultimately if I could wear a 38J or JJ this would probably fit.

    • Ah, shame about the size but I do find this to be the case with a lot of padded bras where the cups run smaller by one size, not sure why :/

    • Oh, the cups are probably fine, maybe a half size down. I’m wearing a 40JJ/K right now so I expected it. It’s the band that runs small.

    • For instance, compare it with my Comexim plunge in the same size: https://www.bratabase.com/compare/dltpe/

    • 1

Did you try wearing two extenders or the one with the elastic bitty on it? If the cups are fine, shame that the bra goes to waste as it looks really good on you!

    • The straps are too wide for that. It’s ok. I don’t need it.

    • This one is a perfect demonstration of how high set you are. So, though it is a poor fit, it serves a purpose for that example. (Sorry it doesn't fit though. :'( )

    • 1

It’s also those short roots. Cakes on a plate? More like muffins in a mug.

    • Haha! Mug cakes! 😄

    Didn't fit

This bra was absolutely ridiculous on me. The band was so tight I could barely get it on my body, yet it kept sliding down my body every time I moved slightly, and the gore wasn’t touching my body. The straps weren’t long enough to hook in the back over my shoulders. The cups crushed the hell out of my boobs, and were not at all deep enough, leaving the lower 1/4 of the cup vacant while the rest of the fabric flattened my boobs against my body. The wires came up way too high in the front and under the arm, feeling super cage-y and stab-happy.

How did I commit a fit blunder this badly? How can I avoid doing this again? It feels like I made just about every possible mistake on this one.

    • Wireless bras are almost impossible. but it does help to read the reviews here before you buy, and look at the measurements in your size or the closest sizes

    • 1

This bra seems to run very shallow in the cup esp at the wire, resulting in the squish from the bottom, making the upper parts also shallow because there's more of your breast and blah blah.
That automatically would make the band feel tighter too cause your breasts are pushing out the bra.

Now I'm not sure, but when you put on the bra upside down with the cups resting against your stomach, does the band still feel like it's too tight?

If not, then band is probably fine, the cup is what the issue is, but I'm afraid that sizing up in cup would result in very tall, but still shallow cups that would have the whole orange in a glass effect going on.

These are the reasons I didn't order this bra myself, because reading some reviews these seem to be very common issues with this bra.

    • 1

dbmamaz this bra isn’t wireless, the wires were actually an issue.

I did read the reviews here, and had thought I had my sizing correct, and that this would work with my shape. I’m wondering where I went so wrong.

    • 1

BTW you can see in most photos of this bra the issues I'm explaining. Even if the reviewer is happy with the fit, remember that is a very personal thing. I can see in one of your photos the wires are clearly sliding down... you can see this in a lot of other photos. It makes me thing this bra has zero projection at the wire and boobs are looking for more space up top thus pushing the bra down. Et cetera et cetera

    • Also remember, strapless bras are a world of their own and sometimes compromises have to be made with them since they are not really meant for every day wear so you can get away with having a fit issue or two (if you are not uncomfortable, of course). They have a purpose to server for a couple of hours and that's it.

Years and years ago I had a Palmers wireless bra--it was beautiful and it was my workhorse bra. I recently pulled it out of my sister's drawer (yes I did pass it on to her) and it actually has very good projection at the wire. I immediately thought to buy another one in my size, but sadly they do 34 bands min and I don't even think they do large cups.

    • by *wireless I mean strapless it won't let me edit

    • Also sorry for the spam lol

    • 2

Haven’t tried to upside tactic; I’ll give it a go for sure!

Also, please don’t apologize for spam, I could use all the info I can get!

brasaremean I was super confused when I saw and felt everything sliding down, since I thought things being tight prevented that. Everything was too tight, yet still this bra longed to be a belt: thank you for explaining why! Honestly, it sounds like this bra just isn’t made for my shape at all.

I had actually intended to wear this bra as a bra with straps (you can see them in the photos), but they weren’t long enough for my body, so I couldn’t hook them with the bra on. I tried hooking them on first and then trying to put the bra on, but that didn’t work either, since the straps made that kinda impossible.

    • 1

      The upside down tactic*

    • 1

If I were you I'd be looking for a regular bra with straps and not a strapless one because like I said, most of them seem to be very shallow at the wire resulting in all sorts of issues (the sliding down being the most common one).

The one strapless I did see that had decent projection at the wire is Panache Evie Strapless Bra (5320) but you can see the shape suffers a lot in most cases when it comes to that bra.

I have personally given up on strapless after realising that probably not one of them would work for me at all.

    • 1

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NIRgqqwjRY

You can see a video of Evie here. I think I would put the model in smaller band and larger cup cause there's some clear overspill on the sides, but even as it is you can see that it actually does have decent immediate projection

    • brasaremean I went after this bra because of its ability to multiway, or so it claimed. My right shoulder is lowered and has had some minor neurological issues, so the ability to multiway and take wight off my shoulders is crucial for me. I know that’s an alteration I can always make later, but it takes time and it’d be so much easier to have it done outright. Perhaps I should stick to Comexim, who I know can do multiways.

    • 1

Ah yes I remember. I think then Evie is worth looking at because you *will* have the support of straps and it's actually a three part cut and sew cup which is good support.
That being said, if the straps are too short, you can always buy replacement straps (in a lot of places actually) that come with the hooks already on them and everything.

Another thing but I don't know how good the size range is but the Wacoal Halo Lace Convertible (851205) is a very nice bra that I bought in 34E and as such it was VERY tight in the band but also very generous in the cup (only slight quadding considering my actual size).

    • 1

But I wouldn't be buying that latter one blind, I'd suggest checking it out at a store if you can because the sizes really do run weird. Like I even got the gore to tack in 34E (34DD) which was a real surprise.

    • 1

i also typed wireless and meant strapless!

    • 3

The others got the advice stuff down well, so I won't add to that, but I will say this. You didn't make a fit blunder, it's just the bra. You did perfectly fine trying it. Personally, I think all padded CK bras are horribly made, and fit 100% different from their soft cup bras. So, I view this as a learning experience, equally of value and importance. Comexim and Ewa multi-way options should indeed fare better for you, but you still get kudos credit for trying this one, as it adds data and your experience will help other members as well. :-D For the love of data, we thank you!!

    • 1

MamaPagan thank you, makes me feel better about the whole ordeal! In terms of how it’s made, I don’t think I’ve ever felt a bra with wires as easily malleable as this one. It came in a pretty flat box, and the wires were a bit distorted as a result - not the sender’s fault, just that it was in a box like that for so long.

    • 1

Yup, that's Curvy Kate bras imho. Super flimsy and they just distort so easily.

This bra is a lot shallower, wider, and taller than the Comexim halfcup I have in one sistersize smaller. It seems like it should fit a much taller rooted 40H wearing person to me. The fabric is soft and the band is firm and the straps are placed in a comfortable position. I love the lace on the top. Otherwise I can’t judge it as it is so small and the shape is so off for me.

I am close set, full on bottom and have outer fullness. I have been noticing some quading in my 30F bras including my 30F - Curvy Kate » Atomic Plunge Bra (CK4811) so I tried a size up. Curvy Kate changes more then cup size between F and FF. The band and straps are thicker and it has 3 hooks. The cups are significantly taller and wider then the previous size. The wire also is more painful then I remember my new 30F being. When I compare the wires they seem to bend the same when the same force is applied, so I think they hurt ... more because they are ill fitting. My bigger breast is able to fill out the bottom of the cup but the top is a wrinkled mess. Like all the plunges I have tried the cups are too closed off and my tall roots get in the way so the wrinkling looks even worse. The cups are too tall and the strap cuts in my armpits uncomfortably. The wires are too wide especially for my smaller breast. My ideal size for this bra would be between a 30F and 30FF.I need shorter and more open cups. I love the color, deep violet with black accents.

It's a shame this doesn't fit you, because that bra is gorgeous. What a perfect sheer bra look!

    • 1

Ugh this is exactly how this bra and the Cascade “fit” me too only in the 30E and even in that size the gore dug in despite it being short. I have short roots too, and I’ve given up on CKs plunges unfortunately

    • 1

I also have given up on CK plunges because I can't ever fill the top of the cup and it gives me a weird pointed look. I seem to always be stuck between two sizes. Thanks for the review. I was beginning to reconsider their plunges because there are some pretty ones, but you made me reconsider!

    • 1

Have you considered sewing the Gore together so that the wires are touching/overlapping? I think this could help make this bra work better for you.
The wrinkling doesn't look all that bad to me and I think doing this to the Gore would position the cups better on your body. It would also bring the straps in some because they're obviously too wide as well. Try pining the Gore together, situating the bra on your body as if it was built that way and see if it helps at all.

    • 1

It's such a beautiful bra and color. It looks like you may need more immediate projection in a bra. I have close set breasts too and have gore issues with bras that are too shallow

    • 1

LeProfessor I thought about altering the gore but the cups being too tall and closed off made it seem like a loss cause, so I returned it.

Brash5 and lcl0706 I wish their were more bra options out there. I need a gore less then 2 in, narrow and deep cups around 5.3 in and 10 in. CK plunges are the closest thing I have found. I wish I could wear balconette/halfcups but the gores are to tall and pokey.

    • 2

I wish their plunges were just a little bit more open on top cause I love the aesthetics of them! And they fit well other than the top of the cups and their oddly pokey gores, which I’d be willing to work with if the cups weren’t so closed.

    • I wish their plunges were just a little bit more open on top cause I love the aesthetics of them! And they fit well other than the top of the cups and their oddly pokey gores, which I’d be willing to work with if the cups weren’t so closed.

    • Did either of you ever try the Princess plunge? Or their new plunge, Lifestyle? Both of those are significantly more open on top than Cabaret, Dare, or Atomic, at least in the top of the size range.

    • 1

cupandahalf I haven't tried them yet. I have been looking for a non-pink Princess one at a decent price, since I heard that the princess plunge was the most open of the plunges. The price is not too bad on ebay I should just buy it. I'll put the lifestyle plunge on my list of bras to try. And it comes in nude!

    • 1

violetknight Lifestyle fit a lot like Princess plunge but more comfy. I think you'll like it!

    • I want to try lifestyle but i was told Atomic was significantly more open on top than Cabaret was & I found zero difference between the two, at least in a 30E. But lifestyle is on my list.

This bra has to be one of the scratchiest bras I've ever worn. Wearing it outside on a hot day is like having your boobs set on fire. This size fits me better than the 30J, the top of the cups doesn't saw into my armpits like the larger band size does. The straps are still set too wide so it will rub on my tail of spence. This bra is also very wide and shallow, it gets pushed down on me almost immediately. The top of the cups are friendly to my sloping shape. The gore is also quite wide. I would only recommend this bra for people who do not have sensitive skin, do not need a lot of space at the wire, and do not have close set breasts.

It's like they had a surplus of Brillo pads and needed to do something with them. It's weird that it doesn't feel scratchy on my fingers, just on my body.

    • CK has the worst elastics. I recommend trying an extender so they don't dig in or roll over so much. But still that stretchy band...

I'm currently wearing a CK Plunge that is usually really a scratchy but I'm using an extender today and that is helping a lot.

I picked this up as it was one of the only other 28JJs I could find on Amazon. This bra is kind of average to me. The wires are super wide, they are almost on my back. The top seems suited for short rooted/sloping shapes, as I only have a slight gap at the top of the cup on both sides. At the bottom of the cup I get a flattening effect above the underwire, I am guessing because it is too shallow? This bra gives me a half sphere look and I really don’t like how it looks under a shirt. For those with smaller breasts that have short roots, this bra would make a very nice t-shirt bra.

    • Thanks for the review! I had a similar experience with the fit of this bra. I thought maybe it was a size issue but maybe not.

    • I think it is a scaling issue. If I hook the bra together and set it down, it curls up like a capital D on its side. The wires should not be this wide.

    • Yes, that makes perfect sense. I had considered trying different sizes to find a better fit, but I think you're right that it's because of the wide wires.

I thought the fit in my 40JJ - Curvy Kate » Vegas Balcony Bra (5601) was good until I got this size. I knew the band was too loose in the 40JJ but it was way too loose and after a few months has begun to ride up on the tightest hooks. This one is perfect, tts with comfortable stretch. Besides the band, the measurements for each are basically the same and can be attributed to me not measuring perfectly or slight sewing differences. What you would expect for sister sizes. The main difference is that there is no loose fabric ... at the side of the cup, perhaps due to the band appropriately tensioning the cup.

The gore is slightly taller than my center root (hello short roots!) but only untacks at the very top.

The lift remains phenomenal. The wires stay in my IMF and there is plenty of room at the bottom. There is so much center room that I get slight gapping at the mesh there in certain positions but it's fine, doesn't show under clothes. And I would rather that than cutting in or gore probs.

The fabric is not great to start but I know that it gets better over time. I still love the fabric although it does show under everything. Sometimes I kind of like that because I adore the print.

This time I bought the undies too. They are literally the most comfy knickers I have ever bought. They are so soft and the light mesh on the rear does not ride up. The flamingo fabric is not laminated like the bra so it is quite soft. I must get more pairs. I wear them in size 20 and they fit like other CK Brazilians I own in that size.

    Hasn't set fit

My shape: short narrow roots, center full but splayed, even FOT/FOB. My current best fit is the Cleo Lily in 28FF. I have a 30F CK Bardot whose cups fit well (the straps are too wide) and many 28FF Marcies, whose cups are a little gappy, and whose straps and wires are a little wide, but I love just the same.

My initial impression of this bra was that despite its measurements, it's fairly shallow. The shape it gave was rounded, minimized and a little East-West (which is new for me!). Prior to altering it, the cups seemed small and cut into my center ... fullness. I narrowed the bottom of the gore to open up the top of the cups, and now it fits with zero room to spare, and with significant wrinkling at the bottom center of the cup. I have the straps extended as far as they'll go, but think that might be more due to the cups being a little small than the straps being short.

That said, it now looks great. The cup height and strap placement seem perfect, which may be partially due to it being a little small in the cups.

The wing is angled low under the arm, but widens at the back to accommodate the 3 hook clasp. I've uploaded a picture of it over a 28FF Cleo Lily for comparison. The materials are soft but fairly rigid, with the weight of the non-stretch lace being especially nice. The band is standard power mesh.

Overall, I'm still trying to figure this one out, and may update in the future!

    • Thanks for your review! It seems to become more immediately projected throughout the range. Interesting how scaling can change these fit characteristics. I'm thrilled your alteration helped :-)

Thanks Love4Pollinators ! I really appreciate your reviews (and wish I could share my boobs ability to overlap wires!) and had noted the ..um... bimodal nature of the reviews for this bra and its presumed clones. Since it was cheap on Brastop I decided to give it a try.
The scaling in this size is pretty close to perfect on the straps and band, now if CK can just Bardot-ize the cups about 75%.....

My shape: slightly wide, slightly tall roots with splayed shape, evenly full top and bottom, slightly center-full. close-set at the top. I need a fair amount of projection at the wire. My best fitting sizes are 34G/36FF in Panache.

I sister-sized up because I am thick in the middle and didn't want the top to hug me too tightly there. I can wear this on the middle hook without it riding up but it feels more secure on the tightest. I won't be wearing this top a lot so the band stretching out is not a big concern for me. The cups fit great and the ... straps Stay.On.My.Shoulders. That hardly ever happens. The body of the top fits nicely too. The outer fabric is stretched over the bra and stands away from the gore. I think I will stitch this down. At the regular retail of 85 USD for this top one shouldn't have to do that but I got a good deal so I'm willing to try.

The bra is made of a double layer of tulle fabric. It's attached to the outer fabric along the top at the sides but not in the front or the very back. The bottom of the band is not attached. The wires tend to flip up and I've even had the gore twist when putting this on, so getting into can be a little bit of a challenge. Taking it off has not been a problem but I'll have to test it when wet. The fabric overlay is your typical soft and stretchy swimsuit fabric, not particularly thick but not flimsy either. The front is not lined. It has princess seams so it's fitted to the waist and has sufficient room at the hip. It rides up a little but my hips are a size larger than my bust so ymmv.

The bra construction is supposedly based on the Daily Dream. That being the case, I'm not sure why cups aren't padded, at least lightly. I'll be giving this the shower test to see if headlights show through. I suspect they will. I have some thin pads from something or other that hopefully will work without showing. Again, you shouldn't have to worry about headlights in an $85 top!

All in all I'm happy with this. Given that I've had little success with Curvy Kate bras I'm surprised and pleased that the bra fit so well. I've never had a bra-sized swim top before. It's so much more comfortable than my wireless padded cup tops. Nothing is perfect for everyone, but this comes very close for me and with a few tweaks can be nearly perfect.

dbmamaz thanks! I think it would look great on you. I don't see your size on Amazon but hopefully you can find it.

Beautiful color on you!! Yay for a workable fit!! I may try to find an inexpensive option, too. Recently, I noticed I ripped the bra seams on my 4DD tankini. And, it's not available in a larger size.

    • Thanks Love4Pollinators ! I hope you can find a deal on a top in your size.

    • Yeah, it really does look good on you! I love the pattern and color too!

  13. Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111)

Fits much like my 38J - Curvy Kate » Cabaret Plunge Bra (CK5111) but a little wider and taller (I have gained a cup size since buying the 38J so this one fits now and the other doesn't). Unfortunately, the straps are super wide and I had to do some alterations to get them to fit (made the straps like the back of Ewa Michalak Sm Ty Wiesz... (743) ). The alterations are great, I get no strap slippage. I get a very slight quad on my fuller breast due to it being FOT. It's very deep and fairly narrow in this size. If you are FOB I bet most folks could size down a cup. The band is super tight at first, but will loosen up a bit after a few wears. Grab an extender at first.

    Hasn't set fit

In this model the cup is small, so buy a bigger cup than I normally use 28 GG.
It is very nice and holds very well but has three problems:
    - The cup is too high in the armpit area and it is nailed especially if you have a narrow body like a size 28, surely for wider backs do not be so uncomfortable.
    - I can not fill the bottom of the cup, it is as if the fabric did not fit well to the breasts.
    - The band comes very tight at least for me although I have read contrary opinions.

Just a bit too much in cup quadding and quadding for me. A size up may help.

Feels like I'm on to something though - definitely felt like this bra was a wow moment despite the in cup quad. Curvy Kate Ellace and Bardot fit ok, but overall just a bit too much wrinkling.. gaping.. not laying flat.. small issues. And no wow factor in comfort, shape, or looks that made me want to keep them. The shape from this bra could be a wow factor for sure! Gonna look for a 30E or 28F depending on measurements.

Gorgeous materials. Love that it isn't mesh. Love the feeling. Love the lavender. I think there is a decent amount of immediate projection, TTS band, narrow wires.

This bra fits quite good. I don't have any major problems, except maybe it's a bit too shallow at the wire. The wires move a bit under my IMF after wearing it for a while. They're a bit hard and cause a bit discomfort after a while.
Nonetheless I really like the shape in this bra. My breasts are a bit pointy and this bra makes a great round shape and my boobs feel super firm in it. The band is TTS in my opinion.

I found this bra on Zulily and decided to try it after hearing about how narrow and projected it is. I personally don't agree with either of those statements.

I find the wires to be way too wide (almost an inch and a half wider than my Ewa Michalak SM bras). It is also shallow enough at the bottom that the cup visibly collapses and has empty space. I love the look of the bra, and its much prettier than I expected. I'm a bit dissapointed with the fit though.

    • I agree in our size range curvy kate is not narrow and deep .

    • Ivp I knew that in general CK is usually wide in our size range, but I had heard good things about this particular model. I guess UK brands version of narrow and projected is still not narrow and projected enough for me

    • Darn! It is a pretty bra. Hopefully you can still get some use out of it :)

    • I think in the G-H size range ppl have been saying that. oh well, glad you tried so I didnt have to!

    • Yes it looks very tall, wide and shallow-based in this size range. I'd be curious to see measurements to compare it to other brands.

    • In the 30H it is significantly narrower and deeper. apparently it is not true in different size ranges

    • wendybien I added measurements. I'm very short rooted, so I'm not sure if its a tall cup or if it just looks tall because its on me. The width measurement is definitely wider than my other bras but it also doesn't take into account how soft the wires are. The unstretched band measurement is mostly cup, so with the soft wires there's some wire distortion (I even tried it with an extender and that doesn't help). So it fits wider than it measures if that makes sense

    • Sounds like the stretchy band and soft wires are exacerbating this problem then.

I fell in love with this bra while browsing Amazon, and it was on sale in my size. The sale was a major factor in ordering since I hadn't had much luck with the last Curvy Kate bras I tried. I'm so happy that I decided to try the Ellace, it is an amazing fit for me. It gives a great round and lifted shape without being minimizing, and is very comfortable.

Looks fantastic!! This is my most comfortable and supportive bra: the elastic!!! I SO hope my size's price DROPS soon, too. So glad you like Ellace, and got a GREAT price! :-) :-)

    • Oh. I've had great results using red as a nude--crimson may work. I'm certainly willing to try :-)

I'd like to try Ellace, too. Great fit for you!

    Didn't fit

I'm totally in love with the bandeau style for bikinis, but given my small band/large cup size range I pretty much resigned myself to the fact I'd never have one for myself. Then one day when I was longingly fawning over some bandeau bikinis, I found this one in my size and had to snatch it up while it was on sale https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Online, the color can vary from a light blue to a light green depending on which site you're viewing it from, but it's really more greenish. I'm not big on the pattern itself since I don't typically go for floral ... designs, but it's okay. The band's definitely a tight 28, which is a-okay with me since I hover closer to 26/27 inches anyway, and the tightness provides more support. Despite it's tightness, it's very comfortable due to the soft layered material the whole bikini is made of. The cups are an average width, but still not narrow enough for me. It can be worn in four styles; strapless, normal straps, cross straps, and halter. The loop to attach the halter strap can be cleanly tucked away behind the gore when not in use, and stays there pretty well. The straps just barely adjust long enough for me to be able to wear it in a cross strap style, but that's my go-to style for sure. I haven't been brave enough to wear it strapless yet, as I get a little more sag than I'm comfortable with, but it would likely be okay to do so. The gore and cups tack pretty well, and although I was worried about the click-into-place style hook in the back, it's stayed secure so far.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it, and definitely stoked to have a well-fitting bikini after years of wearing bikinis so small they basically just covered my nipples.

  20. Gia Balcony Bra (CK2101)

This is my first Curvy Kate unlined, and let me tell you, I'm loving it! I've been wearing it for about three hours, and it's very comfy! I have some significant asymmetry and this bra is taking it in stride; it looks great on both sides. It's got a very natural look and feel, but not in the matronly full coverage bra way. It's more of a low and wide bra. It looks great under wide scoop and square necklines. It isn't bumpy under a shirt. My right side is a tiny bit pointy, but otherwise, this bra is very ideal. Band is firm, straps supportive, and cups ... wide enough for my average width roots. It's fitting right in my infra mammary fold, which is a challenge because my lower root shape is kind of flat, so I have a small space at the bottom of a lot of cups-- not this one! The only other ones that fit right in there are Cleo Ellis, Bella, Lily, and Meg. So my new Gia has just joined an exclusive club.

EDIT: About a year later, I have bought about 10 of these in various colors and sizes as I've dropped pounds. It's my best everyday bra.
