This gave me hope that I am one step closer to finding ABTF. Unfortunately, this was not the one.

Shape: round, projected, even, close set, on the narrow end of average root width.

I tried this in my usual size, 30E - Cleo ยป Blake Balconnet Bra (9151), and left a detailed review. I ordered this one before I wrote the 30E review and realized that my fit issues were primarily due to band being way too stretchy and NOT the cup size being too big. Cup is definitely too small (gore won't tack) and the band is just as ridiculously stretchy as the 30E I tried. Fingers crossed that the 28F is the *one true fit* in this bra for me!

Bra friends, sister size down in the turquoise colorway if you like a firm band! I've heard rumors that the cerise also has a stretchy band, so keep that in mind as well when shopping deals on the dc'd colorway https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

Doesn't make me look pointy or give strange shape as other unlined have done. Love the look of this bra. The fabric, design, construction- everything! After wearing this all day I did find myself having to fix my tissue in the cups. Gore started to dig into center/close set tissue. Also, the cups aren't too small, yet the line of stitching where the lace is sewn to the top part of the cup slightly digs in & gives an (unnoticeable with a shirt on) slight quad effect. Maybe a 32D would help with this? Not sure if my tall roots are "pulling" the fabric too tight?
Edit to add: I think the cups aren't close enough for me, but still a great bra that I've been wearing in regular rotation this summer !

Cup width seems as bit narrow. Or the shallowness is causing it to cut in on the sides. I'm not sure how easy it is to see in the photos, but the cups are obviously deforming on the outer sides. Also this seems to be pushing up my under arm flesh. I forget what that area is called right now.

Band is easy to put on, not extra tight.

You can see in my photos that after a few hours of wear, i repositioned it as it had slid down.

The cup smoothness is nice and I like how it looks otherwise. I'd like to find something like this but with slightly more immediate projection at the sides and bottom?

Texture - fabric catches at rough edges of skin easily. Soft and comfortable

This isn't the best fit. I bought it to see if Marcie works as a bra for me. The band is tight and the wires are a bit wider than I prefer. The gore sits on breast tissue a little. The cups are too shallow for me, I need a LOT more immediate projection. This bra has apex projection. My tissue on the side is not contained. I have even breasts, and I think this would be better for someone less FOB than I am.

bottom half is great. Top lace is a bit looser and the wrinkles run side to side. Meaning too closed on top? idk

The spot where the straps meet the cup pushes my tail of spence a bit. Can get pokey.

This is a very comfortable bra. It's made of nice material and is snug without being too tight. It's a pinch loose around the top of the cups, but I'm still going to keep it.

I knew that something called a T-shirt bra would be padded, but the padding on the Neve was even thicker than I expected. On my small side, the bra stood out away from my body on its own, which might even have been okay, like wearing a prosthetic breast, except that the top line showed under t-shirts. Which defeats the point of a t-shirt bra. I wish they made a 32C; maybe I'll try again sometime in a 30D.

  11. Lily Balconnet Bra (7351)

This bra is so, so cute, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. Originally, it was too closed on top for me, but I lost some weight and now it fits pretty good. I have tall roots, but am now very shallow on the top side, so I have no quadding issues anymore. In fact, the left cup gapes a bit.

This is a fairly minimizing bra. It rounds me out without the presence of cleavage and lifts pretty well. I do have some headlights with thinner shirts. Some padding or layering might be needed to wear this bra.

I almost feel like the wires are too narrow for me, but the marks left on me when I take the bra off indicate this isn't the case. I think that, because the band is so tight, it presses the wires into me more than a bra with a looser band. I probably will wear this for an extender, but only for comfort. The size is still practical.

  12. Jude (5846)

This is a beautiful bra! The lace detail on the rim of the cups contrasts nicely with the smooth cup. It doesn't show up under the shirt, and it gives a nice profile. I was almost afraid that the cups were too big, but because I am between cup sizes, I scooped and swooped, and the fit was amazing. The gore tacks and doesn't poke. The straps lie in a nice spot where they don't slip off from my shoulders. And the cups are wide enough for all of my breast tissue, but it's almost a little too wide, with a bit of empty fabric at the edges. An update will be made later, when I wear it out for a day.

This is the third bra in this cut I own. Again, good for my FOB breasts, not good for low cut tops, the shape is nice. The band is tighter than Christinas but less tight than Jolies. I am still not sure why this design absolutely got me, knowing that the pattern would look like a really bad skin irritation (reality check: it really does) and I dislike pink and light blue. Anyhow, I like the bra and I am still sad, that this cut is discontinued. I wear it mainly in winter when the pattern is no problem with pullovers.

This is the oldest bra in my drawer. I own it for more than two years now and changed from the widest to the middle hook. The comfort and the shape of this bra are really good, otherwise I would not keep it that long. The band is softer than all other Cleos I tried but it still keeps in place. The cut is good for my FOB breasts but it is not so good for low cut tops since its not a halfcup.
The orange pattern always annoys me, under my tops it looks like a really bad skin irritation and not like a bra pattern, so this is mostly my pullover bra. Anyhow I guess if my size stays as it is I am going to wear this bra till its death.
When I heard that Cleo discontiued this Cut I bought this cut in two more designs (Jessie, Jolie) because I really like it and want to have it in my drawer for a while.
This bra's measurements have been altered

I bought this bra blind on ebay because I really liked the design knowing the cut works for me. I own this cut three times (Cristina, Jessie and Jolie) and I'm not so happy that this cut is discontinued since it was the only Cleo cut that works for my small FOB breasts.
The band is not as stretchy as Christina or Jessie, it is quite tight for a padded Cleo.
I like the shape but the bra tends to show up in my cleavave, so it is more a winter favorite. The gore is gentle for a Cleo but still sometimes a little bit uncomfortable.

Fun pink/orange colorway, but the wrong shape for me -- seems to be made for full-on-top girls, and mine are full-on-the-bottom. Other than that, great fit, with that nice gentle lift-to-center that Cleos always give me.

Oh, how I wanted the Lucy to fit. I had a lot of hope in this bra.

The most important thing to note (for me), that I wish I had known ahead of time, was that where the mesh meets lace on the cup, would create a quadboob, making the portion covered with lace looked oddly puffed up, even though I still had some wrinkling at the very top of the cup. No amount of swoop and scoop could make this bra enclose the breast tissue near my underarm (tail of spence). The cups just did not come up high enough and give the type of inward/forward support ... I need, while at the same time, it rubbed that area painfully, even while just wearing it a short time.

The band on this black 30DD was significantly tighter and less stretchy than the band on the 30E in Malibu Blue. The tighter band fit snugly on the loosest hook and felt like it'd probably be the right size for me. (It is worth mentioning, I am still a beginner on the bra search journey. I have found that 30 bands really vary significantly between brands. While Natori fit snugly, Freya and Panache seem like I should consider sizing down to a 28.)

It's a pretty little bra, definitely not built to create cleavage. At this point, I believe I have wide-set, splayed, wide-root, pendulous, fuller on bottom (or equal, when bent over....but with deflated upper breast tissue that's almost non-existent when standing), shallow (because of the extent of the ptosis and the size I was to begin with) breasts. I have recently come to understand that the 32 B/C push up bras I have been wearing for 20 years have created a rather pronounced bulge of tissue between underarm and breast (tail of spence). Any cup in my recommended sizes, that doesn't pull that tissue in, is going to be too big in the cup.

I'm giving up the on Cleo Lucy. It just is not the right style and shape for me. This one is going back to Amazon and the obsessive quest will continue...

    • This is the exact problem I had with Lucy too. I really wanted this one to work and tried it in a multitude of sizes. When I finally got the "right" size, that bulge at the lace/mesh seam was a heartbreaker. Sorry this happened to you too!
Your description of your boobs sounds almost identical to what I think mine are. It has been frustrating and horribly time consuming but with Amazon prime I have persevered!

    • It's so frustrating with these boobs! Did you finally find something that you really liked?

    • In cup quad is that problem, and it's quite common with all Cleo unlined bras. Marcie was the worst offender for me. Your tail of spence doesn't need to be in a bra, it's not in any of mine. If I had a bra wide and tall enough to enclose it, it would be far too wide and tall for my roots. You look like you could get along with a Curvy Kate Bardot. If you can track down the discontinued black and purple colorway, it will be much cheaper than the new red and black one.

    • sereneindeed, Cleo maddie, Cleo Andorra plunge, freya long lines and some half cups. Parfait by affinitas Charlotte. It's all so individual to each of us! the women here are a great help. Good luck!

This is the first bra I've tried in out-of-matrix sizing. I've used a few reputable bra size calculators and they seem to think I'm a 28E/30DD. Well, I can say that the construction and detailing on the bra is very pretty, but does not fit. I fill out the bottom nicely, but there's major wrinkling near the straps, lots of gaping at the top of the cup.

This is the first bra I've tried since calculating my true bra size. After reading many reviews of this bra I decided to size up in the band and that was definitely a smart decision. I measure about 27.4 inches comfortably snug and I am positive that a 28 band would be too small in this particular model. I should also mention that the cups and band of the bra are overall larger in blue than in coral, though I'm not really sure why.
The quality of the bra is ... good. After wearing it about every other day for a month, the band hasn't stretched out too much, and I am still wearing it on the loosest hook. I have however noticed that the gore has popped a stitch or two that I didn't notice after receiving the bra, but I'm not sure if that's necessarily from its quality or some strain my sternum is putting on it.
I do have to note that the appearance of this bra is excellent, by itself and under tight clothing. I get almost no gaping lying down and none at all sitting or standing up straight, making this a really good choice for those looking for a sort of no show bra. The straps are wide set with very tiny polka dots that aren't noticeable from a distance and make no difference in its ability to be concealed under clothing. The gore sits quite low, which is really great for my close set breasts, but may offer some disadvantages to those with very soft breast tissue.
The comfort level is okay. The top of the cup on my right side rubs the outer edge of my armpit slightly, leaving a mark for a while after taking the bra off. The underwire also sits a little bit under my IMF, making me think this bra a little bit too shallow for my slightly projected breasts.
I would definitely recommend this bra to those with average/close set, slightly shallow to shallow breasts looking for a good t shirt bra. I probably wouldn't recommend this bra to someone who is very projected, has soft breast tissue, or is wide set.
