Hey, I found a Marcie that works for me! Thankfully, no in cup quadding in this colorway. I hear that problem has been fixed with the new run of the nude ones, but the white dots on the nude colorway make it useless for me as a nude so I'm not interested in finding out first hand. Regardless, this is pretty good on me despite being recommended for FOT/tall roots, of which I'm neither. The cups do gape a little bit. Nice projection at the wire. This particular color has an extremely tight band. Not sure if that's true for all the yellow ones or if it's just mine, but I need an extender at first. BTB even asked me to verify the stretched band measurement since it's only 26.5! Full review on the blog.

    • I wish I lived closer to you to try it on!!! It looks so good on you! The 28G was an awful fit for me. I like that the band runs small as I'm realizing i haven't got a good UB measurement from my shape and a semi recent collarbone fracture making it hard to get& I'm learning it's smaller than I thought. You always look so great in bras!!!

girl333 she really does look good in bras.

    • Thanks! It's definitely better for taller roots. But it's good enough to keep. I'd totally let you try it on if you could! Hope your collarbone feels better soon!

    • lcl0706 sorry for the double post. Cell phone posting"/! Thanks, it's a lot better, just gets irritated from overuse& the range of motion isn't great yet. I wish there was an instant bra swap like the jetsons style to try on bras!

It's such a great fit on you! It's crazy to compare how tall the cups were on me compared to how they look on you - it's definitely fitting you way better than it would have fit me. I also remember the pink color way running small, but I think my newer ones are more TTS despite the gaping problem (and then the raspberry one being kinda loose). LOVE IT! Always love your photos too!

I think I jumped the gun a little bit with the first size I tried on in this bra! I originally was in a 28DD and it fit so well (compared to my ill fitting 32 A's and B's) that I was so excited and thought it was perfect. Thank goodness a Bratabaser (is that a word?) recommended sizing down on the cup size to solve my too-wide strap issue!

This is truly the best possible fit for me, don't you think so? I wore it all day today, adjusted 0 times, and when I took it off when I got home had no red marks, even from the wide-set straps!

Today I learned the importance of letting your breasts settle a bit in the cup before deciding whether a bra is too small! Thank you so much cjarasmith https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    • Lovely!!

    • I don't think red marks are necessarily a bad thing, as long as it doesn't cause pain

    • Heh mercury, you're so right! For me in the 28DD, by the end of the day I had painful red marks where the seam was between the cup and the strap since the cup was a little bit too wide for me!

    • Do you find the top edge to show through a lot of tops? I bought Maddie in orange animal print (discontinued) and that top edge is different -- I thought it would be less visible through clothing than what you bought, but it does stick out pretty badly, despite being a perfect fit. I'm wondering if the embroidered top edge is better or worse.

    • Idk why I didn't see this river_wilde , until now, I logged on and batch uploaded like 10 bras.

Yes the top edge shows under clothes :( Usually I wear this one with loose clothes/thicker fabric like sweaters, or wear a tank top under to hide the top edge.

My new favorite bra is the Masquerade, Ardour in 28D. It fits perfect as well and stays flat under almost everything!

    Didn't fit

This bra had me excited for months and now I managed to get it for free with my Bravissimo reward points.

    Pros:
    - bra looks awesome (the straps, the shape it gives, the way the flowers look like a galaxy)
    - bra is supportive and well built
    - band is snug and easy to do up
    - straps are adjustable enough for me
    - cups are the right distance apart for me

    Cons:
    - it might be to narrow, projected and closed at the neckline for some. As I'm full on top, it just about works
    - at the sides, the boning at the bottom digs in, which I hope will stop happening but may just be ... because I am chubby!
    - there's slight digging in at my sternum which may be because of my somewhat splayed boobs. The bra comes up quite high at the centre. It is not a half cup but a balconette style with tall cups (which generally work for me)

I'm keeping this bra as it's beautiful. I don't think it's going to be an everyday bra, but my boyfriend already loves it as it looks kinda like flower nebulas. For a longline it is well worth the £29 that Bravissimo is selling it for!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry or both. Marcie fits just right in every way and looks good. And now that Cleo is making it in black and nude, they've dropped my size. Marcie is now only available starting at 28E which is much too big. [insert string of profanity here]

Edit: Okay, I should try to review this properly, given that it's currently my favourite bra but also has the least informative review.

My roots are narrow-ish and very tall. My ribcage is on the small side of 28" and my bust is full on top and /relatively/ projected for my size. Take all of the previous ... descriptions with a grain of salt because I'm still learning here.
28D Cleo Marcie in red is basically the perfect bra. It fits like it's painted on. The cups are open enough on top (by which I mean, they are extremely open on top) and the wires follow the edge of my root all the way around. The shape it gives is beautifully rounded (which is impressive, given my size). The colour is a bright bold fire-hydrant red and the fabric is just the right level of sheer. Perfect perfect perfect. /endrave

If you have a 28D Marcie that you're not 110% happy with, pleeeeaaaaase send it to me and I will love you forever! On that note, thank you biesmie for this one.

That way you are showing them that the demand is there! I sent a message off because with their new changes I will be in one of their smallest bras, and that's just silly!

    • at least the Maddie and the Juna are still available in the smallest sizes.

    • Saskia_C , yeah but neither of those fit me

    • I'm being sized out of all their bras too, and I actually did send them an email letting them know I'm a disappointed customer. I didn't get a reply. However I am very happy to see that the new Cleo Mimi in lilac is supposed to come out in a 28D and 30C, and I think I'll be able to wear the Koko Muse in 30D.

FYI: I am evenly full to FoT, very wide set and a bit splayed, on the shallow side, with short roots.

WOW. This is such a different, but near PERFECT fit! I am so surprised!

I bought this from another bratabaser, still with tags on, and it is my first attempt at a Cleo.

I had heard that Cleos are more narrow and projected than my usual half cup Freyas, but the measurements were not far off from my best fitting bras. However, the look this bra gives me is wildly different! It is the first bra that manages to push my super wide set boobs inside my frame. The ... gore is narrower than I'm used to, but especially under striped clothes (see pics) it is good to have my boobs a bit closer together and inside my frame, as they tend to make me look super wide and massive on top with other bras.

The bra has a lot more projection than say my Freya Marvel (which is great on me but a smidge shallow), and when I look down at my boobs they are definitely sticking out much more. Much to my surprise, I could get all my side breast tissue in these narrow wires with some proper swooping & scooping, and even though the wires are narrow for me, they are not uncomfortable.

From the side, this gives me the green, elf shoe shape you guys are raving about, and I agree it is a good profile! Well fitting bras usually give me super round shapes, so this is a new experience for me.

The cup fabric is sturdy and non stretchy, much like my beloved Marvel, and feels very supportive. The mesh upper part fits very well, not a quadraboob in sight (which was my fear with this bra), and no gaping whatsoever. I only see a teeny tiny wrinkle in the mesh right where the mesh meets the cup, but this seems a construction rather than a fit issue (see pic). The band is also perfect; tight but comfortable.

In all, I am very impressed with this one! It is a great bra for under clothes that normally make me look wide, and because it pushes my boobs close together, it even gives me a bit more cleavage, which is also rare for me. However, under other clothes I miss my hourglass shape a little, as my wide boobs balance out my wide hips, but oh well, I have plenty of bras for that look already.

I am really suprised that this good fit can give me such a different look than my other well fitting bras! My husband even noticed the difference, although he thinks it makes my boobs look small (which is not a good thing in his book https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" />.

This looks fantastic on you, really. Like - it's perfect. And FWIW, I would not call you shallow or wide rooted. Your pics show quite a bit of projection, and even fullness. You would probably do well with other bras similar to Minnie :)

  9. Bella Balconnet Bra (7001)

Cleo Bella arrived yesterday and it was comfortable enough to immediately put on and wear out! I don't usually have enough confidence to wear a bra until I've tried it on twice.

Really pretty. The yellow butterflies and aqua back are my favorite design elements. The shape is similar to the Ellis, but more closed on top. The closed-on-top aspect can offer an odd shape when combined with the usual Cleo front, center, lifted approach. Since I have a short root, it really works for me.

The gore tacks perfectly, but I didn't need to do any bending outward at the gore tips. The wires are slightly wide ... for me, but since they angle lower, I don't get any armpit stabbing, so it's ok. I'm pretty assymetrical, so I have some slight gapping on my smaller side, and some slight quadding on my larger side, but that's about as good as it gets for me without an alteration. The gapping is less significant than it is in my Cleo Ellis or my Cleo Lily Parrot colorway (don't have gapping in Lily Aqua). The band is more immediately comfortable on the loosest hook than the Melissa or the Ellis were on first wear.

As far as fit, this is my 2nd favorite after the Melissa. As far as shape, third after Melissa, then Lily. As far as aesthetic, 2nd favorite after Ellis. As far as comfort, this is second after the Cleo Lily, but I get the feeling it will be my favorite after a wash. Overall, this is a great addition. I feel extremely supported and cradled in this bra. It makes me happy to wear it.

Oh, Melissa! Nice to meet you dear. You are so cute and spunky and just fun to look at. I really enjoy the way you lift my soft breast much like my good friend Lily does. I feel so comfortable with you on.

So Melissa is a currently tied with Lucy. If you've read my past reviews, I found that Lily fits the best followed by Lucy. She might actually be taking over Lucy's 2nd position but I won't know for sure until I wear her again. I feel like she fits very close to Lily, but the band is a bit snugger than I would like. So ... I do wear an extender, but just to add 1 extra row. So if the bra came with 4 rows instead of three, it would be perfect.
I wore it all day yesterday and I had to adjust a couple of times, scooping and swooping to make sure everything stayed put as they day went on and I played with my toddler. The underwire did slip out from my fold, but only a little bit, and mostly on my higher breast, and that happens with my number 1 favorite Lily, so it's not a deal breaker. I really like this bra.

    Didn't fit

After my small success with Marcie, I decided to get Minnie as well because it's a sister-cut of Marcie. Turns out it's slightly different.

The band feels like a tight 30, or loose 28, which is usual for unlined bras from Cleo. I love the neon pink accent on the hooks and the bow at the gore! It's pretty https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I usually wear 28Cs these days, and I could use the middle hooks, whereas I had to use the innermost hooks on raspberry Marcie.

As for the cups, they seem to be a bit more projected(or larger?) than those of Marcie. The measurements are ... almost identical, but for some reason Minnie doesn't work as well as Marcie for my shallow chest. I get wrinkles on the outer side of the cups and gaps around the gore. Minnie has a bit more room around the gore than Marcie. The top of the cups are open, similar to Marcie. I imagine it's good for FoT.
The cups are single layer but not see-through. The cups of Minnie feel slightly stiffer than Marcie.

    Didn't fit

It's a good sign when silent screams of glee start up as soon as you open a package. This bra is the brightest, most fluorescent green I've ever seen in my life. I own several bright green items, and they can't stand up to it. Obviously, no internet picture could possibly do it justice. It's most comparable to the edges of those see-through yellow-green LEGO parts that come with the space sets--their edges, not the clear bits.

However, I knew when I bought the bra that I might need to make an exchange. I have a lot of 30GG bras at the moment that I'm nearly, or already, quadding ... out of. The Cleo Lucy (5851) I bought this to replace is pretty far gone in that realm. I think I'm more of a 30H/HH in Cleo at the moment.
As with my original brush with the Cleo Lucy, it was very hard for me to tell whether this bra fit in the cup or not. I decided the Lucy was a perfect fit, not a quadboob disaster waiting to happen, and I was right. With the Kali, it was less clear-cut. I felt less positive about the cups than I did about Lucy's, but the Kali also seems to offer a slightly less round shape than Lucy, overall. I didn't want to go up in the cup and lose the iconic Cleo shape, as it's one of the major reasons I bought the bra. But I tried on the bra the next day and got some quadding, so I'll be going up a cup size.

As far as other aspects of the bra, either the scaling is really good or Cleo has calmed down with their wire width. I'm not getting stabbed in the armpit or underboob at all. This is surprising, given my usual experiences with both Cleo and Panache, as I need narrower wires and am short. The band feels like a very decent 30-back. I'm wearing it on the loosest hooks. Have I mentioned said hooks (and eyes) are orange, matching the front bow? I'm a fan, even though I plan to cut the bow off. Overall, this bra is pretty comfortable.

One of my major questions when I first saw pictures of this bra was whether the ridiculously ill-advised embroidery on the underside of its cups (can we start a petition?) would show through tight shirts a la Lucy's damned raised polkadots. They do, but it's not as bad an effect as with the Lucy. The leaves are a good deal more subtle. They don't look like a very regularly placed attack of hives, and I think there are also less of them. The leaf embroidery on the upper part of the cup doesn't show at all.
There is some wrinkling of the lower cups' top layers of mesh that might bother some people. I assume it's due to the cup shallowness I mentioned, even though I'm filling out the cup fine.

  13. Maddie Moulded T-shirt Bra (7201)

I love the Panache Porcelain model and I'm pretty sure Maddie draws much inspiration from that iconic t-shirt bra. Maddie is indeed very, very much like the Panache Porcelain Viva; with a a few small differences in shaping and details. First of all, typical to Cleo, the band is stretchier. After my experience with Juna's incredibly unstable band, I ordered 28 in Maddie, instead of my usual 30. Maddie's cups are, again, quite like Porcelain Viva, but Maddie's cups are "open" (similar to Juna only in this respect). Also, Maddie's cups are definitely "padded". If they were even the slightest bit thicker they would feel bulky to me. (I prefer the very lightly lined Porcelain cups). It's highly likely that I will buy more Maddies, but I think the 30DD size will be work better at keeping my boobs from migrating out the sides of the cups. Maddie's band is firmer an tighter than Juna's and overall it feels more supportive.

The Cleo Maddie has shallow cups and relatively wide wires, fits well on wide root shallow boobs.
    It's a molded T-Shirt-bra in a halfcup/balconnette style.

It is often said that the cups run small. I don't fully agree - they run shallow, so if you are not shallow you might want to go up a cup size.
In the correct size, this bra gave me good uplift, a round shape, and it goes well under tight clothing and tank tops.

    Pros:
    - super comfy!
    - thin straps
    - smooth look under clothing
    - not too much coverage

    Cons:
    - The band is on the stretchier side, so if you are between band sizes, you may want to get the smaller one.

I had some sizing issues with this bra. Maybe it was a foolish beginner's mistake when I thought 30D fit me, which was actually too wide in the band and too small in the cups. 30DD gaped a lot. I finally got it in 28E and it fit much better.

I think the Neve bands run tight. I managed to fit into a 30G, but the cup was a bit big and the band was so snug it seemed ridiculous (although I could fit it on me). I opted for the 32F and am happy with my choice. This bra gives GREAT cleavage and a smooth appearance under thin tees. I would agree with another review that says the cleavage given is similar to the Freya Deco's, but because the fabric is a touch thinner, it doesn't stick away from the chest.

I own the Peach Neve and I love the color choice. The little bow and charm are a nice touch! It's an adorable and functional bra.

The Juna is a great every day wear bra. The feel of the cups are so nice and smooth. The thin padding is great for modesty and shape. I have to adjust myself at least once a day if I'm moving around a lot.

Biggest complaint is that the band is super stretchy. I'm a 26 underbust and even the tightest hook was riding up a bit. So I've actually brought in the band and now I wear it on the second hook (I took in the hooks).

I get minor quadboob on my larger left breast. It don't want to size up though, because I'm pretty sure I'd get gaping, and I'm not uncomfortable.

The wire width is perfect for me. Not too wide, not too narrow.

Others have said it's great for shallow breasts, and I'd agree!

Cleo Marcie cuts are a strange kind of bra family on me. Actually I do find the whole bra family extremely strange. It has so much room near the gore on top it will even gape on full on top boobs when moving around. But if sizing down I would instead quad. And this Cleo bra cut is the cut that is told to work best on shallow boobs. I find that completely logic. But I would want to act that I don't think this cut looks good on anyone in a larger size. Definitely not above 30J and sister sizes but hardly in the smaller sizes ... either. It's simply constructed imo very very weird. You can either choose between quadboob if sizing down, or incup quadboob if sizing up.

Also the cup depth on these bras are huge. Put over knee and side seam stretched out it's 33 cm in 32H.

I actually thinks this bra is more supportive in a too big size than a fitting one. When one forces boobs forward that much and leaves so much room on top boobs are very far away from the body. That makes them very unsupported. The far apart straps and the two hooks and eyes will have a hard time holding boobs up if they are not very small or very firm.

The bra is a maximizer which is also why it's smarter in the smaller than the larger sizes. Under clothes the gaping won't be shown and since I like the pink flower print showing through a white top I actually consider keeping it and just fold the lace slightly inwards double on top to take away the extra space there. That way it turns a little higher on the sides and lower in the front which is what I need https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I also cannot stop thinking about how that bra could should be changed to work in larger sizes because I cannot decide whether it's the bottom parts that are too high or the top part that simply are too generous. Or both.

It's a good bra for close together boobs. It's a good bra for firm boobs. In smaller sizes it's a good bra for shallow boobs. But as a whole this bra cut simply doesn't make much sense.

I know there are many that thinks that it's good that bras are made in a higher cup size. But I would say in some cases it's just giving false hopes and more of the bra being a pretty garment than a bra. And it does look weird on almost everyone above a G cup.

The boobs I can imagine this bra being really good for is augmented boobs. The don't weigh as much as their size suggests and so they can benefit from the shape without demanding as much support.

    Purchased from BareNecessities.com 10/2011

I read reviews and had purchased this bra on HerRoom.com but they cancelled my order (backordered but then they changed the stock to discontinued), so I was able to find it on BareNecessities. But the reviews I've read for this bra on HerRoom and on here indicate it ran small in the cup, which makes sense because I think most ... of Panache's bras do, so I ordered a cup size up from my usual and it fits perfect!! I was almost regretting it so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping, but I'm so glad I stuck with my first choice! And for a cup depth of only 9.25" this is a measurement you would normally see on a size 28F (DDDD/ and a US-G). I now know what size to order in this brand =)

    Pros:

-T-shirt bra, so a hell of a lot more functional than other bras from this brand and other European brands, the foam is not thick enough to add size, but enough to be modest.
-Vertical seams help create a more American-style, rounded silhouette (if they had been your traditional 3 seams this would give a pointed shape, even with a foam cup), and it also helps to direct you front and center.
-Wicked cute fabric and details!! The lace at the top of the cup is not stretchy but it is the correct size for the remainder of the bra (finally!)
-Lining on inside of cup is cotton, much more comfortable than comparable brands.

    Cons:

-Center gore in front sticks out a little bit, but this is because it's more for women who have a bigger stomach as it's curved up quite a bit (mine is pretty flat, tapering to 24" so there is a little shadowing/space under this area). Not really a problem, but some might consider it as the band being too big, it's not. Panache either makes partial banded bras or full bands for "thicker" frames. =/
-Straps don't adjust short enough (I did not put this down as a fit problem because for now it's fine, though I will probably have to alter the straps in the future).
-A few unfinished/raw edges inside the bra, and some sticking out on the cup. Quality could be a little bit more impressive considering the cost.
-I can close this on the middle hooks already as a brand new bra, so this doesn't run quite as small in the band as some other styles from Panache. Not a problem for me, but on others it may be.

    *Update 10-2012*

This fit before but had some problems when it came to the shape. Before the seams in the cup would point to the sides at the bottom and to the center at the top, kind of like a forward slash, backward slash. I added a dart in the center gore, which took out about 1.125" from the band length so it's more snug, and now the seams in the cup are straight up and down. It gives better lift and support from the bottom of the cup, whereas before it would kind of just pull you down to the sides.
