  1. All Dressed Up T-shirt Bra (853166)

    Virtually identical to Wacoal's "French Garden", with minor differences.

    * Gore is wider than French Garden. Definitely sits on my close-set shape.
    * The band is padded at the gore and under the arms, up to the "boning" (which is just stitching; has no boning). Back band is lined lace.
    * Cups are slightly shorter than French Garden, but not by much. Also slightly smaller than French Garden. They give a weird rounded-pointy shape too.
    * Straps have softly flocked underside; anchored to top of back band only.

    At the time of this entry, the Net Effects bra seemed to be quite new. Very little info out there.

    * Beautiful pale lavender with a darker shade of lavender embroidery on the wings and gore.
    * Tall, full cups, with wide wires. Wires sat on my ribs and extended past the midpoint of my underarms.
    * Wings are double layer mesh, attached only along the top edge. The embroidery is only on the top layer.
    * The band is very soft, and easily stretched to 32". Unstretched, it measures a little shorter than average, but when stretched, caused the wires to distort at 30". Has a bandless front.
    * Tall, wide and ... shallow cup design. The wide gore (for me) didn't fit center closeness. Sat on breast tissue. Cups quadded, but plenty of empty space at the wire.
    * Not memory foam cups, but thin like it. Did not recover very well from creases (as in shipping). But at least it arrived from Amazon in a box rather than a padded envelope.

    Would be a beautiful bra and probably comfortable if it fits your shape.

  3. Style Standard T-shirt Bra (853347)

    Fits

    My go-to bra for the past few years has been the Wacoal Lace Affair in 32G. This one is very very similar with some improved construction methods.

    * The CUPS: Smooth cup edge; no exposed seams. Super soft microfiber outside. Memory foam inside. Top 2/3rds of the cups are smooth. Lace cradle on the lower third, which continues onto the band. Ever-so-slightly thinner padding on the memory foam's outer third, (presumably to reduce bulk at the armpits), while still allowing coverage for nipple show-through. You can see the curved vertical ridge inside the cups where it changes thickness. (When I first noticed it, I though it was wrinkling from ... shipping.)
    * (For you technical geeks out there, I borrowed my husband's digital calipers to measure the changes in the cups' thickness. At the outer edge, between the strap and wire, the cup is about 3.25mm. Whereas 2" below the center top of the cup, I measured the thickness at 7mm. So yes, there is definitely a little padding front and center. But it doesn't appear to add volume when wearing it. (Maybe because of the memory foam conforming to your shape?)
    * The WIRES: Feel ever so slightly long & low, like not quite 100% tucked into the IMF.
    * The BAND: also microfiber, with encased elastic, so there's nothing scratchy against your skin. Again, very soft and comfortable. Seems to have the same amount of stretch the Lace Affair has that I've been wearing for years.
    * The GORE: nice and low. Stays out of the way of breast tissue and tacks nicely.
    * The STRAPS: fully adjustable. Firm stretch.

    Some basic comparisons with the Lace Affair:
    * CUP OUTER FABRIC: Style = non-shiny microfiber; has a slight flocking to it. Lace Affair = shiny stretch tricot. (Style's inner fabric is thin memory foam. Lace Affair's inner fabric is microfiber.)
    * CUP DEPTH: Style = 9.5". Lace Affair = 9.75". Not quite as much depth at the wire on the Style that the Lace Affair has.
    * CUP HEIGHT: Style = 7.25". Lace Affair = 7.5".
    *WIRE WIDTH: Style = 6" wide. Lace Affair = 5.75" wide.
    *WIRE LENGTH: Style = 10.5". Lace Affair = 10.25".
    * BAND WIDTH: The biggest difference is here. Both bands are 4" at the wire, but Style immediately tapers to the hooks (in a modified straight band), whereas Lace Affair stays tall until the point of strap attachment, which is a Ballet style band. Also, there is no vertical reinforcement on the Style as there is on the Lace Affair, making the Style slightly stretchier.
    * BAND LENGTH: I didn't bother to compare these two, because of the age difference between them. Wouldn't be a relevant comparison.
    * GORE: Style = 1.2" wide X 2" tall. Lace Affair = 1" wide X 1 7/8" tall.
    * STRAP WIDTH: Style = 15mm. Lace Affair = 18mm.
    * STRAP LENGTH, fully extended: Style = 14.5". Lace Affair = 13.5".
    * STRAP PLACEMENT: about the same as the Lace Affair. Definitely NOT center set.

    SUMMARY:
    * The Style measures slightly higher cup volume, despite the fact it feels more shallow than the Lace Affair.
    * Cup shape on the Style shows more cleavage. The cups don't have quite as much center depth as the Lace Affair, which could easily make it prone to center quadding if greater projection is needed.
    * Cup height on the Style is slightly lower, but not enough to be called a Demi.
    * Despite being new, the Style is already more comfortable than my well broken-in Lace Affair. In my opinion, it's because of the enclosed elastic band and softer fabrics.
    * I typically experience more back bulge (behind my arms/'fluff' over my lats) with a straight band, and have less of an issue with a Ballet back band. But with this Style T-shirt's modified straight band, the bulge is surprisingly minimal.

    Hope this helps someone out there!

    This bra is SO SOFT. It feels like butter against your skin. The light blue and gray coloring and the embroidery at the edge of the cups are all really cute, as well. Unfortunately, the band is just too stretchy for me (I'm a 32-34FF, usually); it would be better suited to someone who wears a 36 or 38 band.

    Pretty solid! The fabric is soft and the lace detail is nice for an otherwise boring item. The gore can sit a little wonky depending on how I've been moving around and right after nursing there was some gaping in the upper cups. I'll size down a cup and see if that helps.

    There's a lot to love about this bra, but it's the wrong shape for me.

    * At 3" tall, the gore can't get out of the way of my close-set shape. The wires are long (and very flexible), so they sit on my ribs instead of being tucked inside my IMF. (Despite being long, the outer wire does not come up too high under my arms. So that part is at least comfortable.)
    * The cups are double layer 3-way stretch microfiber... oh so soft and comfortable! They have barely noticeable hidden slings, that help keep things facing forward, (but sigh, not enough for me).
    * The band is also double ... layer microfiber, with no exposed elastic (Yay!). Again, very comfortable. The band at the wire is 4" tall and tapers down to 2.25" at the 3x3 hooks.
    * The back straps attach with a pretty lace, overlaying the band, creating a U-shaped back. The actual strap attaches 2.5" above the back band. It also has a J-hook to convert it to a racerback (always handy, albeit awkward to fasten). The straps in the front are center pull. So for those of us with sloping shoulders, there's no slipping strap issues. Plus it helps create a little extra lift in the cups (Always a good thing!).

    * Bottom line for me personally: too much wire prevents this from working for me. Too bad too, because it feels wonderful on!

    Oh well, another wide and shallow bra...sigh!

    * Long and wide wires, tall band.
    * Tall, full cups. Soft fabrics. Not quite spacer fabric, but similar. Thin padding doesn't add volume but conceals.
    * Low gore. Bandless front.
    * Restricted stretch, fully adjustable, center pull straps.

    As for shape, it gives great lift, and very rounded profile. But it also looks and feels like a minimizer bra, compressing my boobs to my chest and spreading everything side to side.

    Also of curiosity, I ordered the "Barbados Cherry", with the picture from Amazon showing a deep (almost black) red. What I received instead is a fire engine red. Nothing at all like the picture (monitors don't vary THAT much!).

    This model is the "Sheer Enough" bra.

    I've had this bra for a couple of years now, and honestly I don't wear it very often. There's two main reasons for that. #1: the gore is too tall for my close-set shape and it sits on my breasts. Or, if I force it to sit on my sternum, it's quite uncomfortable and causes spillage above the gore. #2: the materials used aren't particularly soft: exposed elastic, exposed zig-zag stitching, and moderately scratchy fabrics.

    * Single layer mesh all around, cups and band...except for the middle of the cups which is stretch lace (its' stretchiness matches the rest of the cups, so ... that's good).

    * The band has a scoop back rather than a straight band, and seems to be shaped to accommodate a V torso. So back bulge is a minimum, despite having only two hooks. (Oddly enough, I actually get the least amount of back-bulge with a gate-back, or single hook band.) The top edge of the band has clear elastic, the bottom has traditional bra elastic.

    * Cups are two-way stretch, without inner slings. Very good projection, separation, and really good support. Provides a nice rounded shape. Good for unevenness, or size fluctuations. The lace in the cups are not overlayed on top of the mesh, but rather spliced into it with zig-zag stitching. (The support from the wires is so good that slings are unnecessary.) IMO, the cups do seem to run a half cup small. They feel tight, like a 32:6, even though I don't get any quadding, except for the previously mentioned tall gore.

    * Fully adjustable, stretch elastic edge at the top of the cups.

    * Strong, long wires, wrapped in flocked casing, but no padding to soften against the stiff metal. The channels are 1/2" longer than the wires, which allow the wires to shift themselves up to the top of the gore. (I may try stitching across wire channels at the gore to prevent that, as long as it doesn't cause pain under the arms.)

    * 3/4" wide center-pull straps. Gold tone hardware.

    * Probably not a very durable bra. If I wore it more often, either the lace or mesh on the cups would probably have torn by now, but otherwise the lace has pilled only a little in the few times I've worn & washed it.

    * Speaking of the lace, it WILL show under a thin top, as do firm nipples.

    * It's a good summer bra, since the fabric is so light and breathable, which is why I bought it. But then because I also wear thinner tops in summer, the lace also shows, which happens to be a pet-peeve of mine.

    I love this bra, it fits nearly perfectly it’s only very slightly tight at the very top of the cups. I would say it runs bigger in the cups for Wacoal because all the other Wacoal bras in 32G have been way to small in the cups.
    It’s very comfortable and gives a nice lifted shape in clothes.

    Hasn't set fit

    Adored this bra! It fit perfectly for my 2015 measurements, but I forgot to log that in time. I was very sad when pregnancy eventually precluded me from wearing it any longer.

    A very natural, teardrop shape, yet still lifted and supported. Spacer foam provided just the right amount of coverage, without feeling at all like armor. Really like the wide back band, which felt solid and supportive even after a full day of wear.

    I wish they made it in larger sizes, since I've outgrown the size range with pregnancy. Hoping it's still in production when I'm on the other end of nursing, and maybe I'll fit in the ... size range again.

    Update, 2 years postpartum: Years of nursing bras have made me way less tolerant of tight bands, and I think my ribcage maybe widened a bit permanently? (haven't measured yet to verify). So when I did finally fit back in this bra, I found the band unreasonably uncomfortable. These days, the 34G - Wacoal » Basic Beauty T-shirt Spacer Bra (853192) is a better fit for me, especially on my larger breast. My nursing adventures have also made me much more aware of when underwires aren't quiiiite enclosing my larger breast, and I have to admit that was the case for this bra (the 32G). I do miss the slightly more low-profile, shorter cup of the 32G as compared to the 34G.

    There's a try on clip at 2:18 into the video. I got this bra for $20 at Winners (Marshall's Canada) and I don't regret it. It's a great everyday bra for when I'm not into the mood for molded cups. It gives my bust a really natural look that is not very projected, it just gives seperation and natural definition. https://youtu.be/sWlbp-q3jRQ?t=138

    This bra is called 'Sheer Enough.' The name could not be more appropriate.

    #1: Overall very stretchy...good for mild weight gain/loss, or monthly fluctuations.
    #2: Very thin, delicate lace across the cups...not sure how durable it will be long-term. The lace will show under a tight top, but usually provides enough tension to camophlage nipples. Cups are narrow and deep; more supportive than I expected. Doesn't have a Lot of Lift, but sufficient, with a 'comfortable' rounded shape. The top of the single layer cups has an elasticized edge; somewhat closed, but handled center closeness well enough, except for mild quadding near the gore. No gaping whatsoever.
    #3: Before my ... very minor alteration, the gore was just over an inch wide at the top and 3" tall; it's base is only 1.75" wide and narrower than most. (I hand-stitched the top as closely together as possible, without deconstructing the gore, which reduced the width from 1 1/8" to 7/8".) Interestingly, before my little alteration it didn't tack, but now it tacks while standing but then falls away 1/2" when leaning forward.
    #4: The wires are narrow and flexible. Stretches easily with the band and likewise will distort if stretched 'too far'. But they tuck into my IMF nicely.
    #5: Single layer band...seems like it might stretch out quickly, but it's very comfortable. Back fat is minimized because of the lace across the top, which also has a strip of stretch silicone.
    #6: The wide & flocked straps are fully adjustable, but not overly stretchy. (The band is way more stretchy than the straps.) Almost centered above the apex of the cups and kicked in, in the back. No slippage here.

    Bottom line: this is a perfect Summertime bra for those hot sweltering days! Lightweight, but supportive. Shapes without binding; moves with you. Even though cups are sheer, I doubt there'd be a terrible problem of nipple show-through, especially in the Summer heat. But if it really bothers you, there's always nipple concealers...

    Quick update: I end up fluctuating between this fitting and not fitting, depending on how full I happen to be when I wear it. The combination of the tall-for-me gore and the cup's elastic binding sometimes causes this to quad on my close-set/center closeness. Sometimes it fits fine and I can tolerate the gore, other times it cuts in too much.

    I've been looking for a strapless bra with a thin lining that will handle my projected shape and short roots. This isn't it.

    The height of the cups is 1" too tall. (I can usually manage cups that are up to 7" tall, but these cut in severely and quadded along the entire edge, especially near my arms). Width of the cups is 1/4-1/2" too wide.
    Wires are too long and sit on my short-waisted ribs. (I could fit a finger's width between the wires and my IMF). Oddly enough, I had more buckling along the outer sides of the cups on my smaller side.
    The band is a single layer mesh with restricted stretch and a total of 4 boning stays. No slippage here with the added silicone strips all around top and bottom of band, as well as the top of the cups.

    Size is consistent with the Black I previously ordered. The front-adjusting straps on the Mahogany Rose (32DDD) have a tendency to slip a bit during the day. But so far, the straps on this "Purple Beet" (also the Black 32G) color have been fine. Speaking of color, it really is the color of beets! It's a rich Burgundy Purple-ish Red. The lace back is particularly pretty in this color.
    My only complaint is the straps are a little too far apart so when I roll my shoulders forward the cups do gape just a little.
    Now if only they could make this in a front-close...sigh.

  18. Fire And Lace Contour (853252)

    I've written a review for the 32DDD with construction details, so I will skip that part on this one.

    As for fit, the cups are wider than the DDD and moderately deeper (which I expected). I would still put this in the category of more shallow than deep, compared to others of this size. I must be between sizes right now because the DDD is getting small in the cup and this one fits well...with the exception of when I slouch. Then the cup opens up a little, especially on my smaller side. But it's fine otherwise.
    It's comfortable, supports well, the cups aren't thick so should be good for summer, (hides nipples better than a spacer cup); not a lot of separation between the gore for ventilation, but gives nice rounded cleavage without squishing or falling out. I also don't get back fat with the tall wings and lace up the back straps.
