The lace back on this is beautiful and the key feature of this bra. Tall wings blend into triangular lace up the straps. The band is snug, true to size, bandless in the front, and two layers in the back. The underneath layer is your typical stretch mesh with elastic edges, with the top layer being the stretch lace. This helped to minimize back fat better than I expected.
Unlike the Wacoal 'Lace Affair' whose contour cups are shiny stretch satin, the cups on this 'Fire and Lace' have wider wires, non-shiny stretch satin, contoured foam, barely 1/8" (not spacer fabric); not enough thickness to ... add volume but provides nice modesty and a nice rounded shape (possibly slightly minimized). I had no marks from anything rubbing. The cups fit center fullness very well, but the straps are so wide that the outer edges of the cups rub against my armpits and cause crazy gaping when I roll my shoulders forward. Otherwise, with perfect posture it fits fine.
Another cool feature is the straps adjust in the front; SO much easier to reach. I wish all bras were designed with this feature!
Athough this is not labeled as a plunge, the gore is low, but not too wide at the bottom.
The color 'Flint' is quite pretty I think...the closest I could describe it is a soft dusty purple. It was 'almost' invisible underneath an off-white T-shirt, so I consider the color as neutral.

  2. Size is consistent with the Black I previously ordered. The front-adjusting straps on the Mahogany Rose (32DDD) have a tendency to slip a bit during the day. But so far, the straps on this "Purple Beet" (also the Black 32G) color have been fine. Speaking of color, it really is the color of beets! It's a rich Burgundy Purple-ish Red. The lace back is particularly pretty in this color.
My only complaint is the straps are a little too far apart so when I roll my shoulders forward the cups do gape just a little.
Now if only they could make this in a front-close...sigh.

  3. I've written a review for the 32DDD with construction details, so I will skip that part on this one.

As for fit, the cups are wider than the DDD and moderately deeper (which I expected). I would still put this in the category of more shallow than deep, compared to others of this size. I must be between sizes right now because the DDD is getting small in the cup and this one fits well...with the exception of when I slouch. Then the cup opens up a little, especially on my smaller side. But it's fine otherwise.
It's comfortable, supports well, the cups aren't thick so should be good for summer, (hides nipples better than a spacer cup); not a lot of separation between the gore for ventilation, but gives nice rounded cleavage without squishing or falling out. I also don't get back fat with the tall wings and lace up the back straps.

  4. Correction: I accidentally listed this as a Freya brand, but it is indeed a Wacoal. Not sure how to make that correction. Sorry!

This bra is similar in design to the Fantasie Rebecca Lace, but I like this one much better. This one has a lower gore that doesn't sit on my breast tissue.
The back lace band is a better design and does a nicer job smoothing out the back.
The wings near the cups are taller than the Rebecca Lace (if I remember correctly) and it's more comfortable under the arms.
The straps adjust in the front, which is an awesome ... feature, but they do slip a little, even throughout the day. They are a bit far apart for me, but then again most straps are. (I'm not narrow shouldered, just petite framed.)
The cups are soft and comfortable. They have less stretch (also less shine) than the Wacoal Lace Affair, and they tend to gape a little when I roll my shoulders.
The outer wires are comfortable under my arms, but overall sit slightly below my IMF. So not a perfect fit but not uncomfortable either.

Update: kinda outgrew it in the cup, so now the wire sits well below the IMF and I quad, whereas I didn't use to.
