Ive given another go at the Idol. This time I went up a band and down a cup (actually 2 cups). Now it seems to be well fitting. What can I say about it- the cup sizing goes biiiiiig. And thats a good thing for those who r big-boobed. 36H was parachute , 38G fits well in my opinion. I do have some hopes.. , well - tag removed, I'm keeping it. Wish me comfortableness https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />

38G - Freya » Daisy Lace Padded Half Cup Bra (5133) this bra does not seem padded to me. It just feels like thick lining? This is really pretty, but I feel like it flattens me and presses my breast down wide. There is significant gaping at the top unless I shorten the straps to pull the cups closer to my chest. The band is too tight and the wires are uncomfortable. I'm convinced that 38s are just not the right size for me. I also think that though it seems like this cup has a lot of depth, the depth is up high in the cup not at the bottom of the cup. I feel like I should stop reviewing all these bras that don't fit me right, as likely I'm just grabbing the wrong size for me.

  4. Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223)

I bought the Patsy a few weeks ago because I really liked the fit of the Marvel. The Marvel fits me great, though the band is a little tight after wearing it for several hours. The Patsy has a similar cut to the Marvel except that the Patsy has two seams going up the center of the bra and the Marvel has one.

It feels supportive and fits well in the cup. I don't think I'd recommend it if you have very splayed breasts that go out to the sides unless you want a natural look. This bra might be better suited to someone with "together" breasts where ... you need a little bit of separation. Demi bras and balconettes tend to work best for my boobs, which are together, settled, and full on bottom. Freya half-cup bras seem to fit me well.

The design is cute with blue lace and blue and white polka dots on hot pink fabric. The fabric looks like a mesh nylon which is smooth, though it might bother someone who prefers a soft cotton or satin fabric.

My only complaint, which I think might be specific to my individual bra, is that the the corner edges where they sew on the hook and clasp attachment weren't sewed securely so that part of the bra was scratching my back and I couldn't wear it at first (today I had to sew over the tiny exposed corner so that the thread would keep the plastic inside from poking me). I think it's just my individual bra as I've never had any problems with the construction of the Freya Marvel.

I'm going to try a Freya Deco next to see if it fits as well as the Marvel and the Patsy.

I mourn that Marvel was discontinued.

You might also like the Freya Kiyoko half cup, which I find to be slightly deeper than Patsy (this could be my imagination). I do find the band stretched out wildly as compared to Patsy, so if you're between band sizes, you might want your smaller one.

    • I had to get the Freya Marvel on eBay (though I think Amazon still has some). But it's less expensive for me to buy from a UK seller than it is to get it here. I guess because the Marvel is on clearance there? I just found another nude one on sale on eBay and snatched it up right away.

Thanks for the tip on the Freya Kiyoko. I'll look it up. If the band stretches out, then that might be a good thing because my Marvel is so tight by the end of the day and digs in, but I still love it.

If you can find it, you could try the Elomi Bijou. Elomi and Freya are both owned by the same parent company (Eveden) and the Bijou is intended to be similar to the Freya Deco but for those needing larger band sizes. I just checked and they make it in a 42GG.

    • I appreciate that I'll give it a try ..altho I have tried several elomi and what I have found is that there great at first but a week or 2 layer there stretched and everything is sagging again ...basically what I need is a Viking brass bra and I found that in freya deco . I will try your suggestion as I'm desperate to find mymatch again thank you @

    • If you want super-strong bras, you should look at panache, but they dont make any molded in your size. I dont have any molded at all.

    • I found curvy Kate I just got one and love it holds like freya

I bought this bra in nude.

I was super excited about this bra because since figuring out I was wearing the wrong bra, I didn't have a properly fitting strapless to wear.

Firstly, this bra looks rather nice, though nothing fancy, and it has a nice feel to it. When I first got it, the cups had been crumpled up a bit in the mail, so I was a little worried, but it smoothed out without any real issue. It looks very much like its strapped counterpart with only a few differences that I'll mention in a moment.

When I got this bra, I was actually very surprised by the ... size of the cups in comparison to my normal Deco. They looked freakin HUGE. Granted, the normal Deco I have is a 36GG, but still it should have the same volume. There shouldn't be that big a difference between them, but I digress. They're made of the same moulded material. Inside the cup, there is a piece of folded material much like what is used in the band sewn in the outside part of the cup for what I assume is extra support for the side of the breast and firm up the outside portion of the cup. It is very soft and completely unnoticeable when wearing. I can't fill the top part of the cups, and I wish they didn't come up quite so high.

The gore comes up higher in this bra than the normal Deco, which I both like and hate. I like that my boobs don't feel like they're about to tumble out, but the gore feels like it comes up almost too high. I think it would have been much better if it split the difference between this one and the normal one on gore height, but I can understand the change. The wires also come up rather high under the arms, but they aren't uncomfortable.

The band on the bra is obviously wider than the normal Deco, or for that matter, most bras I have that aren't strapless. It has 4 hooks per column, so it feels very secure on. The band is also very snug, but not overly so. In fact, it feels quite comfortable, and it seems like it will do what is should. I haven't worn this bra all day, but I feel it will stay comfortable.

It comes with straps as it is a multi-way strapless, which I actually like. The straps look very similar to the ones on the normal Deco, but they are quite a bit smaller. There are also 2 difference places in the cup and on the band to hook in the straps, so you have a choice of where you'd like the straps to be placed, Considering straps often tend to rub under my armpit due to their placement, I like this feature a lot.

Overall, this is a very nice bra, and it does what it should. Sadly, since the cups are much too large for me, I will be returning this bra.

Really pretty! However, I constantly have double boob issues in one cup. The straps also sit a bit high on the neck, even tightening them down doesn't really seem to help.

Note: This is not my bra -- I am measuring for someone not on Bratabase.
That said: this is a very pretty bra with sturdy construction and a firm wire.
The cups are black floral lace, lined with mesh, and all seams are finished. The band is a firm satin knit, unlined.
This bra has light pink straps that can be adjusted along their whole length.

While it is fairly soft to the touch, the seams and some of the elastic and lace areas are rough enough to potentially irritate very sensitive skin. The owner also finds the wires to be too firm, since they poke her in the sternum.

This bra is close to a perfect fit for me and is comfortable for daily wear. I have close set breasts and the gore comes up higher than I expected for a "plunge" style bra so it doesn't quite tack. I think I need to go up to a 38GG for this one. Only has one hook on the back, which I love, and the color is very cute! I am maybe a bad person for this but I snipped the little bit of fabric between the wires. Now the wires overlap, the gore tacks and my breasts sit comfortably.

    • What a great idea to snip the fabric at the gore! Did you find that it poked you? Did you still get enough support? I have close-set breasts (38GG in Elomi) as well, and I'm having such a hard time finding a bra with a gore that does not stab me. Thanks for posting this info!

    • Petiteplusbustymom the bra is holding up! it doesn’t stab. It’s in my second string lineup. Haha. I wear mostly 38GG nowadays. I love my Elomi Valentina but it’s discontinued. The lowest gores I have found are on Cleo everly (band is stretchy, maybe size down), Curvy Kate Kiss Cross, Curvy Kate super plunge (stiff wires, I wear an extender with it), scantily showtime, Fig Leaves Juliette. Molded cups are tougher to size but I have two molded plunges- panache aria and Cleo Morgan (stretchy band again). For reference, I am full on bottom, average root width/short root height, and close set.

  10. Marvel Side Panel Bra (1501)

I like this bra. It's well-made and comfortable, though it is a little snug. It's pretty comfortable, but the band does dig in after a while. I'm between a 38 and a 40, and do better with a slightly roomier band like the elomi and Panache. I don't feel any poking under the arms and there's no gaping in the top or bottom of the cup. There's a slight fullness at the side, but nothing's spilling out. The bra is well-constructed and I can wear it under most of my clothes. I initially hesitated to try Freya because I'd seen mixed reviews, but I'm glad I tried ... this one. I would definitely buy another Freya bra in a similar shape/size. If it helps, I have a wide root and "settled" breasts that are slightly fuller on the bottom. Panache 38G and the Elomi Bijou 38G have been my best fits so far (for comparison).

Edited to Add: I still really love this bra, but it does leave marks and hurts sometimes after wearing it for more than 10 hours. I'm about a 39 in underbust in my "comfortable" measurement, so while I fit a 38 in most bras, I'm between a 38 and a 40. Just figured I'd mention that for anyone who is trying to decide if the 38 Freya band will fit.

Update 12/2016: I think the reason the bra fit tight on me earlier this year was that I didn't know I was getting bigger in the cup (causing the band to feel tight). It was a great fit overall and one of my favorite bras to wear on a daily basis because I could wear it under most clothes and I liked the shape. I wish this bra was still readily available in 38GG.

I like the shape and the colours of this and as always for Freya it feels like good build quality. I'm not sure I like the shape it gives me as much as I had hoped I would. The fit of the cups is not quite right - the gore doesn't lay flat against my sternum at the top but the tops of the cup are slightly baggy - not sure what is going on there. I don't know if I'm going to keep this one. Plus the straps are really wide apart so I think they will probably fall off my shoulders a lot.

The bands fits a bit large and doesn't feel like it stretches a lot. The straps are too far apart for me, and the underwires poke me under the arm. The underwires are also too wide for me though it does at least have a lot of immediate projection but it rides down out of my IMF during the day.

I can not accurately review this bra as I ordered a 38GG but was sent a 38G, and the store is unable to send a replacement in my size. I did indeed find the cup to be not deep enough. Everything else seemed good, other than the obvious it was just too small a cup. I found the underwire to be comfortable, which so far I have only found comfortable underwire in freya bras as others the underwire is just too wide.

I was surprised this bra worked at all for me,never thought it would. It has it's fit problems but works well for when I need a true plunge t-shirt bra for my short boobs.
Got this bra used so it may have stretched out more, but this is a very stretchy band,I think it goes past 42 inches at this point and I usually wear it when I'm bloated and still need to wear on tightest hook.
I got a honey deco in topaz color in 36GG and a flamingo print in 36GG,which I'll be using to compare to in this review. The honey is much tighter, going to around 38 inches stretched, while the ... flamingo is well on it's way to being as stretchy as this one! O.o
I'd say the straps for this deco are in between the honey and flamingo, the honey has the best straps for me,not so wide set,and the flamingo the worst of the decos for straps.
This deco has more projection and cups are...softer,or something,so less orange in glass than the other decos.
Based on all of this,I think I'll get a 36GG in the regular deco for when I need this type of bra,and am thinking of getting the Deco vibe. The Vibe would have a J-hook which would give more support, and probably help when the band stretches out, plus the band looks tighter, like the honey.Similar to the honey, the cups seems stiffer and shallower at the bottom than the normal deco,so I'm not sure how that would turn out.

I wanted one of these bras so badly. They looked like the perfect tshirt bra. The only problem is that this bras looks great with everything but a tshirt. I thik my girls might just be too big for this bra. Everything other part of it fit perfectly if not a little loose, but the cup was just too small. It wasn't uncomfortable but I kind of pop out and it looks wrong under high cut tops and tight fabric. Looks great without a shirt but I unfortunately need one of those. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />

This bra is not owned any more

Updated on Mar 18, 2014 Flag this

    • Isn't orange in a glass the opposite problem (i.e. too much projection)?

    • Not enough projection at the wire. The orange can't reach the bottom of the glass and gets "stuck" at the top of the cup

    • I think that's a different problem. Orange in a glass is that the wires are too narrow and the cup is too deep at the apex, so the wires are on breast tissue and the boob doesn't fill out the apex of the cup (getting stuck, like you said). Lack of immediate projection (depth at the bottom wire) produces wrinkling along the bottom - you could still fill out the apex of the cup (or not). I run into lack of immediate projection with nearly all of my bras so I get that wrinkling, but I'm narrow and projected enough overall to fill out the apex on pretty much anything in my size without any OIG effect. :)
