  1. Sheer Class Black Plunge Swimsuit (CS001605)

Let's start with the positive things: this swimsuit is good if you have a long torso! (in the past I had the issue with swimsuits that the underbust was low since they suit was too short in the body) This CK suit is made with a longer torso in mind / or suitable for taller women. So there is that.

Otherwise I don't really have to say so many nice things about it. It looks great on the models and I think it can look great if you can make it work for you. It's not a bad construction. It did not work on me.
First getting this ... on is a such a hassle... I needed like 15 mins to get it on. At first I thought it is not going to happen. You can only open the bra part of the suit... the rest you have to pull up over your thighs and hips. I have thicker thighs and bigger butt and barely managed to get it over it. So basically the underbust part you have to pull up over your lower body. I don't recommend if you are very pear-shaped with small underbust- won't be able to put it on.

For swimsuits I choose 34 band but I usually wear a 32. It would never happened if the suit was any smaller. Once I had it up.. the relief. The underbust sat at my actual underbust! So the body of the suit is long enough. it is good coverage on the lower half. Then I had to do the straps up (had to remove them to get into the suit). The straps are multi-way and there is those loops on the back of the bra to put them in... Now I had the suit on... tried to reach back to fiddle with these straps to get them on... another 15 min later I barely made it and my arms hurt. You can see on my back pic on one side I could not even do it properly. Also these straps just tend to fall out the loops. I cannot imagine doing up the cross straps on your own. I think you need help putting this on and someone with you to put straps back in place when they fall off. So much about multiway- I rather not have it, if it's such a hassle.

The band fits well, the cups are made out of stretchy swimsuit material and not lined. There is some wrinkling at the top. I'm not sure if they are slightly big on me or if it is just because I wasn't able to adjust the straps. The bra feels okay in support but I am not sure how it will hold up if the suit is wet. I find the straps a bit thin for this size. Overall - If I had no other option I might wear this - since I get coverage and the right lenght in torso and the bra covers and supports my boobsbetter than un-wired suit. But I don't think it is that flattering on me. I rather wear a tankini where the bra part is covered in fabric. While CK tankini are also a bit of a hassle to get one - they are nowhere near this! Actually I now value my unpadded tankinis from CK so much more. I just wish they would still make them, but recently they make only padded stuff. (Maybe because the unpadded isn't as supportive - why not line the bras like Elomi did on their 34H - Elomi » Essentials Plunge Bikini Top (7504) which fits and supports like a regular bra?!)
Also you cannot expect any waist shaping from the suit. It shows your figure how it is. I mean that's okay, just wanted to share as many plus size suits claim to have a "shaping" effect.

Oh, this story made me cringe! Trying to find swimsuits can be hard enough without the addition of them being impossible to put on. I have had bras from CK that made me wonder if they ever actually tried them on a person of my size, or just guessed and scaled from other sizes. Thanks for letting us all know to avoid this one! Good luck in your project of finding a great suit, they are out there! I love my Comexim bikini most of all, that is what I think you should try next 😊🏖

    • 1

Good to know! I don't go out swimming a lot, so I haven't bought myself any swimwear in a while, but this is quite the fair warning in case I ever want to try a swimsuit in the future.

    • 1

I did not realize reading a swimsuit review could cause flashbacks...the horror of the "swimsuit dance" is real. Inch it up, contort your torso in ways you did not know were possible and are definitely NOT fun, shift it further, oh-no-it-is-stuck, contort, spasm, bend, unbend, hop, arch, oh-no-that-is-too-far-up...

You would think that something that is made of stretchy material would be more accommodating.

    • thanks for the review!

Curvy Kate stopped making tankinis? I've been so out of the bra loop lately, I haven't really been tracking things. But i really wish more brands made tankinis/swimsuits in the higher cup ranges and in fun colours at that. I've been wanting to buy a new swimsuit...but I haven't seen anything that really caught my interest.

    • I'm glad my review was helpful. So the whole ordeal of trying on this suit was worth it for that. Honestly If I only had this swimsuit I'd think twice if I really want to go swimming. Also it made a Bikini just more attractive for me - at least that is easy to put on!

Frazzleberry No no they still make them, but most of them are padded now. I don't like the thick padding of CK swimbras. It adds volume and don't even fit well as the cups are shallow. I had lots of gaping and empty space in a CK padded swimtop but the gore floated so far... that when I pushed the gore flat it revealed that the bra is too small - and shallow but the fit was so off it looked too big. (Sounds odd I know. Cn't explain better. )
      https://www.brastop.com/shop/tankinis?attribute_Brand=Curvy-Kate&attribute_Cup_Style=Non-Padded
They only make the sheer class as unpadded tankini anymore (the other are old styles were most sizes are sold out) I think the unpadded ones are ok, here my review of one: 34J - Curvy Kate » Diffuse Tankini Top (CS4906) .

First impression, oh my God I think they've done it! This is what I've been waiting for in a padded bra in an H+ cup. I've had such trouble with CK in the past but boy am I glad I stuck it out. Gore height is perfect and holds them in place. The padding is soft (not stiff like deco) and the three part cup keeps the boobs from splaying out too far (looking at you Fantasie Rebecca). Sizing is consistent with other CK styles. I'm almost always a 34HH in all the CKs Ive tried. I just havent kept most of them because of ... bad shape and too much fabrc in my armpit. CK seems to be changing their fit to be perfect for my shape! It's a dream come true. I've always loved their asthetic and this bra is no exception. I will buy future colorways and the Daily Dream when it comes out. Pretty sure its the same bra, just a basic version. And for the doubters, the only similarity this has to the Daily boost is the soft materials used. The cup shape is completely different and wonderful. So wonderful that I posted pics for the first time (shirt on, not that confident yet).
Update: Had this bra for a couple weeks now and I find that I am reaching for it a lot. I try not to wear it two days in a row but I've definitely worn it 7or 8 times already. I do have to adjust sometimes but thats just me being a perfectionist. I'm FOT and they move around a bit but never quad. This bra produces nice cleavage and did I mention the comfort? Can't wait until the Daily dream comes out in July. Hope I don't run this one into the ground by then.

    34HH

    Didn't fit

Trying on in hopes I have a smooth, non-lacey, but padded, beige bra in my cupsize. My normal fit issues are omega roots and being close-set. I normally wear Curvy Kate in a 34HH, or Polish brands Ewa Mickalak in an 80HH or Comexim in an 80M.

Initial try on with straps styled as a regular bra. Latte colorway.
Im very centerful and have to push myself sideways into the cups a bit. The cup style being open on the inner sides doesnt really keep me held sideways in the cup. This would likely need to be adjusted often. I have some quadboob puff toward the center of the cup ... after a short time. The small low gore sits on my chest but is immediately painful since it has a lot of pressure but doesnt distribute pressure over more than a square inch. The band's two hooks seems odd and makes me wonder about being secure, but I think that is more because I am used to 2-3 hooks and a wider band. Hopefully it is nicer for a dress up time. If I didnt want this as a plunge, I would like the design with more inner cup coverage and a longer/wider cradle and band. Im not sure this is the best for everdays wear. The bra straps are wide-set for me. in my tail of spence area, but not immediately irriatating it. I definately think they are more designed for the racerback/weird set ups than normal wear.
Foam is on the thinner side and only partially conceals nipple bumps. Under very thin fabric the seams do show.
Latte is a darker sort of orangier beige. The little teardrop gem is already twisted out of place upon arrival. Quality-wise I would prefer no charm to a very badly-installed one.
After about five minutes of wear, my breasts are definitely pushing the bra downward and into my sternum more. tightening the straps helps, but definately increases quadboobing a lot. Also in attempting to tighten the strap while wearing, the strap unhooked. (note, I cant actually keep the straps tight enough to keep the cups from collapsing downward without the straps popping off) I'm doubting how secure this would keep someone. I doesnt really fit as a normal bra for me. Judgeing it more off the multi-way ability and not as a daily bra, I dont know that it would hold up to anything like dancing/clubbing as sort of shown in the ad's. It wouldn't keep me secure in the cups, nor would I trust the straps to not pop out when dancing. For a formal event, maybe the straps could be sewn into place. After how much they already popped out of place, I wouldnt be comfortable without sewing it, so it wouldnt be a wear different ways all the time thing. I'd essentially have to alter it each time. (Note: to swap straps, they seem secure and not just easily sliding out, I just really think the placement is really not set up to wear one straight over each shoulder and that may contribute to them popping out when worn this way, they seem to bear pressure diagonally better) I would not wear it this way over the CK Smoothie Soul plunge if I needed a smooth beige or CK High Hopes/Comexim for best fit.

Attempting an initial try on with straps crossed in an X: the cup shape definitely fits better, however on about as loose at the straps go( where it is comfortable and not having the cups collapse downward), they cut into my shoulder and underarm making weird fat bulges where I didnt even know I had enough fat to bulge. Definitely not a way I would wear this in public due to appearance. Unless I was wearing a concealing top, but if I was wearing a concealing top I could wear a much more comfortable bra.

Halter top with one bra strap, no back extender: The cups are definately shaped to be supported by a strap that dosent go straight back. I dont really like the pressure on the back of my neck to support my cups. And I'm normally very fine with swimsuits and things that put pressure on my neck. If I loosen the straps to much, my chest's weight pushes the cups down. For some reason this bra is defiantly have the straps do a lot of the support instead of having a band that supports the breasts like a bra should. The band is fitting snugly as it should, but just isn't wide enough or something, so the cups just collapse downward. The straps at the top of the cup sort of twist to dig the outside of the hook into my tail of spence/armpit. With that and the neck pressure, this is a wear to an event only thing.

halter top with back extender: did not try because the extender was in a separate bag with a hole punched throught the top/middle witht the tag atchement going through. To get it out of the bag I would have to cut the attaching loop. I didnt want to do that before deciding if Im going to return this.

I did not try it with X straps crossing in front of my neck. I cant think of a reason I would ever want that and I can already tell the cups arent really shaped to be in that direction across the front of chest or have strain in that direction since the straps are the supporting element.

There is no way this bra would work strapless.

Overall, I think this bra, sadly, tried to do too much. It would have been a great halter only bra, or a great thin band bra, but doing both and trying to throw in normal straps and try to do all the options make it do terribly at each option.

    Over all:
Daily bra-fails I would not wear this any way on a daily basis.
Multi use change all the time bra- fails since there are really various combos without altering,
Special occasion bra- maybe it could be altered, but its not the best option to alter I've come across.
The foam is too thin to hide my nipple bumps fully, seams show. So it isn't a nice smooth beige bra to hide under thin fabrics. I didnt find a way to wear this where the straps are both comfortable and not making large fat bugles (which isnt normally an issue of mine with any bras).

    Didn't fit

Previously I tried 32K - Curvy Kate » Victory Balcony (9001) and 34J - Curvy Kate » Victory Balcony (9001) and I already gave up on it. When I found this bra from a local online shop, I took the chance to try this bra with free shipping / return.

The 34HH is the best size for me in this style. The band fits just like a 32 band. The cups are only slightly too tall and wide but if I swoop and scoop properly I can almost fill them. It looks like there is light quadboob going on, since I would need a ... bit more depth at the gore. The gore is very difficult on this bra. It won't lie flat in any size that I tried so far. (Not even in sizes that were clearly too big like the 32K) I have to really arrange my boobs a lot in the cups to get gore close to tack. I think that is because the bra has a lot of room on top and on the sides but not where I need it the most: at the center.

The shape under a t-shirt is really good, no east west look from the front and a round not too projected shape from the side. I fear that it won't be supportive enough for a full day of wear. The construction is too weak for my boobs. I find the wires and fabric too flimsy and I really dislike the thin shoulder straps. I was really tempted to keep this bra as I have no bras that fit currently, but I think it's better to pass on it.

Oooh! It’s soooo good on you! Best I’ve seen! Sorry it’s not a perfect fit but it’s really close!

    • Thanks :) You know what? I almost removed tags and call it a good fit. Then I remembered how often I did that and the bra ended up being to weak for full day wear :/ I wore it für 30 min and if felt ok during that time. Then on the next day I wanted to do this again and it felt weaker already. I'm glad I can still return it.

    • 1

Sorry it didn't quite work, but it does look really nice on you!

    • 1

Ooh this is good, you're getting closer to a perfect fit! Sorry it didn't work out though :(

    • 1

I second (or third?) veggiechic & Frazzleberry. It looks like the best fit so far. Progress is a beautiful thing. 💙

    • Maybe keep the tags on and try it some more. Maybe it’s not a perfect fit, but it’s good enough?

    • Hi Calluna Dear,

I think it's close to a good fit for an otherwise delicious bra. However...

The gore portion is too weak IMHO.

A flaw in scaling the design to such high cup letters.

Is the lower part of the gore elastic ?

The gore is an essential structural reinforcement. It must resist the downward bending momentum and other forces by anchoring underwires to a solid structure.

Otherwise, the gore will creep down.

I would try 4 layers of thin nylon mesh with grains oriented 45 degrees relative to each other. Then give it 3 - 4 finely spaced crossed "quilt" stitches, cut to shape and fine stitch on the inner side of the gore, well connected to the underwire pockets.

The aim being to shorten the lower portion of the gore and prevent it from stretching of flexing.

Hopefully the underwires have enough beef to take it ;)

A bit of overkill, lol Hon, I like experimenting ;)

Have a super day, best regards,

      Mathy

Given my recent success with Curvy Kates new padded cuts I decided to give CKs unpadded bras another try. In the past, the older unpadded cuts gave me the infamous upside down seven shape. And the two styles that didn't still had too much bra in my armpit. Well it would seem that CK has fixed both those problems. I'm thrilled to say I love this bra. It's a beautiful pale pink which is a great nude for me and much prettier than a beige. The shape is rounded, not a slope in sight. I've actually already ordered the black one too. The sizing is consistent with Curvy Kate. I'm so excited that Curvy Kate finally works for me. I have several new and old styles on the way and I'm hoping they will have the new shaping. If they keep this up I'm going to be exclusive to CK. I've always loved their styling and now I love the fit too. I highly recommend this bra if CK hasn't worked for you in the past.

This bra is so close to being great for me! It's my first attempt at getting a bra using the size recommended to me at the r/abrathatfits/ calculator, and I'm pretty impressed. The good: The gore tacks flat to my sternum, and is neither to wide nor too narrow. The bra feels sturdy and the band is perfect. The straps get short enough for me (which has been a problem in the past). I've only worn it to try it on, but the fabric feels firm enough to hold its shape all day. Also, the bows are incredibly adorable!

The bad: The gore, while sitting beautifully, is just too ... high. In fact, and this is just a preference, the whole bra comes up higher than I'd prefer on my chest. Also in the 'purely preference' catagory-- I feel like the bra doesn't quite flatter my shape the way I'd like. I look more bottom heavy than I am in it. The cup size is just slightly too big-- even on my larger breast, I get a bit of gaping at the top. But most noticably, the bra is just too wide for me. The underwire extends an inch or slightly more past my root, and the sides of the cups feel empty, with some resulting wrinkling at the bottom. The tops of the cups run into my armpits, causing discomfort.

In short, it's a lovely bra that would work beautifully on someone with slightly larger and wider breasts.

I love the 34HH - Curvy Kate » Gia (CK2101) It's a beautiful bra that's well made and very pretty. Unfortunately, this bra doesn't work well with my natural shape. It has a very natural shape, while I prefer a much more lifted, rounder shape. The low shape of the Gia doesn't work with my full-on-top breasts and gives me quad-boob. Some of my issues with this bra may be due to size. I think I may have needed this bra in a 34J to begin with.

I wish this bra had worked for me because I really do love it. I just need a bra that has more of a round shape.

NOT FOR HIPS OR BUTT! I got this bodysuit in a size that normally fits me for a bra, 34HH. Unfortunately I can even get it on. To put it on, I have to step into it, and I cant get it over my upper thighs much less my hips. The waistband (not bra band) only expands to 33 inches. For a 34 inch band! Unfortunately my hips are much larger and as a body suit it cannot be pulled over my head. I can't review the bra portion of this bra as I cant put it on.
Materials seem nice, a good stronger mesh and a nice stretchy faux leather (nicer than the pleather of the Scantilly Buckle Up Oxblood bra). I wish the waist tape had a buckle and didn't assume my entire bottom half was the same circumference or less than my band size. I assume this wont fit many women and it seems like a serious design flaw.

    Didn't fit

Normally wear 34HH in past Curvy Kate plunges.
straps too wide set- my frame is much smaller, cups too separate- I didn't realize the center front closer was over an inch and a half wide! wires sit on my mid-side and Im also falling out the middle quite a bit. I think the cups are the right size, but set far too far east/west leasding to space in the part of the cups on the side and me falling out the middle. The closure is rather annoying to clip and twists unconfortably instead of sitting parallel to the band (Even with plenty mroe stretch in the band. Closure is ... also not adjustable at all for when the bra streches out (like a bathing suit closure). Again, the bottom of cup is not fully filled because some of it is on my side, not where my boobs roots are- the wire is over 4 fingers off of my root- I think cup size is approximately right and im just falling out the center instead due to being close set. This bra may be designed for more FOT (I would say Im even) or people that dont immediately project as much. Overall with under five minutes of wear Im quad-boobing quite hard and have half a nipple falling out center-front, along with half the cup seeming to crinkle up over my sides. Not painful to wear, but there's problematic wires on my side and the center front closure twisting with just the pressure needed to have a fitting band is unpleasant. Together with the severe quad boobing, this is unwearable for me. The downward seam for the top panel is pulled in line from strap to nipple, then cuts to center. It's very oddly fitting. For others, the low gore more in line with a band may be a helpful feature. I like the idea of a front closure and the back half feels nice- it's unfortunate the front is so ill fitting. Quality seems excellent except for some top stitching and the front buckle seems cheap and it turning would be a concern for me if I intended to keep this. Thin padding, but hid nipple bumps. Getting the closure closed and open under breast tissue being forced out center front is difficult. One side has to be an inch taller than the other and a right angle, then slide down and turn to 180 degrees to lock closed. The bar that slides in is only held by the very top and bottom having 2 pieces of 1/8 of an inch plastic- one at the top and one at the bottom- either breaks and the closure wont work.

This is the Luxe strapless bra in bikini form and comes tagged that way. Back clasp is a 1" bikini clasp so probably less supportive than the Luxe w the usual wide bra hooks. Straps are removable. The top panel is not really sheer to the skin - it is light beige foam with sheer fabric overlay and so may give an odd effect with darker skin tones, unlike the balconette version which apparently is sheer mesh with no lining. The cups on this version have no stretch.

    Fits

normally wear Curvy Kate in a 34HH or Polish brands in 80HH/80M

    initial try on/impressions
the biscotti is a very yellow beige. materials seem basic, not super cheap but not luxurious or high quality.
Initial fit. everything fits fairly comfortably. band and cup volume seem about the right size although I am more center set than this is designed. This isnt super significant and is almost to the point I dont have to reposition myself east/west to fit. I dont think this would not need a lot of repositioning thought the day, but would need some. The wires do not follow my root- particularly it is wider than me along the ... outer sides. I have Omega roots, so this isnt really surprising, and still fits my tissue fairly well. The wires arent pinching or hurting where they sit.
I dont have pain in my sternum from trying this on, which is one of my normal fit issues.
There is a lot of wrinkling in the outer fabric over the cup foam. I dont think it's due to fit, I think it's a construction quality issue. These wrinkles are not visible though my thin t-shirt, however the seams definitely are. The padding is enough to minimize but not fully conceal my nipple bumps.

So far it seems like this might be an ok basic daily bra without the hassle of importing from Poland. Will have to wear for longer to make sure there arent fit issues.
What I would like more: First, there should at least be a bit more quality control where the outer fabric isnt wrinkling. Ideally I would prefer some method to smooth the seams out where they arent visible under a shirt. I still cant find a bra to wear under thin light color shirts that is both smooth enough to not show seams, beige to not show color, and padded enough to not show nipple bumps. I hope this is sturdy enough to hold up in a rotation of normal daily bras.

This swimtop is gorgeous. I love the vibrant colors and the comfortable fit. I wasn't crazy about the Ruffles so I removed them.

Unfortunately, It's now too big for me.

Well, obviously, this bra is way too large for me, since I usually wear 28/30 bands. But it was sooo cheap - I didn´t resist and I intend to alter the band in the future. The cups fit me quite well/are a bit too big. When the alteration´s done, I will get in touch again!

Like this as well but found it hard to put on, definitely a two person deal or at least until I get used to it. I also found it appeared smaller than the 32 HH for some reason so I added an extender and perfect!!. Got loads of compliments on this set the first weekend I wore. So happy I found these https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I received this bra from a fellow Bratabase user as a Give Away as my breasts seem to be morphing again (boobs pls staph). I've been on the hunt for my proper size once again without spending a fortune. I know that my breasts are on the narrow side (Comexim & EM being my go-to and best fitting/comfortable) and I know CK runs wide so I knew what I was getting myself into.

The band feels pretty TTS and it's somehow comfortable for the wires being almost at my back. The gore is also twisting itself but that happens with a good majority of my bras due to ... having closer set breasts. I absolutely hate the fact of how bra manufacturers must think that women are linebackers because these straps are WIDE. I had to tighten them as much as possible which then in turn makes the side of the cups dig into my under arms. Also, shallow...shallow...shallow, again iirc another trademark of CK.

I'm thinking about trying some alterations on this one to see what I can do at least for the straps and the underarm situation. It's fairly comfortable despite how this bra is a terrible match for my breast shape. This has served it's purpose of helping me try to navigate my way to a comfortable new band/cup size. It just makes me sad that almost every CK I try is beyond too wide for me because they always manage to make some of the most beautiful unlined styles and this one lives up to that.

    • Hello, glad to see you recieved the bra. Have you tried any of CKs new cuts (Florence, Cascade, Bardot, Arizona..)? CK used to be too wide for me too and was always cutting into my armpits. The new cuts are narrower and work so well for me now. I'm a similar in size so feel free to check my reviews.

    • I had no idea the new cuts weren't what we all know "traditional CK" to be like. This is so exciting! lol. Like I said, I love their designs so I will certainly be looking at your reviews. Thank you so much and I've been wearing the bra for a few hours now and I'm really really surprised that even the underarms aren't killing me. Cleo/Panache seems to want to saw my arms off.

I've only tried this on so far but it is stunning. I can't believe how supportive it is being a sheer bra. It's nice to have a sheer bra without the extra lining that often gets added to GG+ sizes. The shape is rounded and up front which seems to be the direction Curvy Kate is going on fit. Loving the new CK styles.

This is my second GIA. This is a gorgeous, quality bra. The color is nicely darker and purpler than on the picture. The shape and size is a typical CK bra, so that you may want to go up at least one cup size, the band is true to size though. I'm between 32/34 size, and I could fasten it on the tightest hook from the first wear. As a result, it doesn't work for me. I should have bought 32jj or k for the better fit.

This bra fit at first but then began cutting in significantly along the top of the cup. I thought that it wasn't full-on-top-friendly enough, but now I think the cup may run small as so many Curvy Kates do. Also, the wires poke my underarm. That may because the band is too big and tends to ride up.
