  1. Delightfull Full Cup Bra (1111)

    Didn't fit

I tried this bra a few weeks ago. If it weren't for free shipping and returns, I wouldn't have because from other reviews here I knew it wouldn't work for me but I was also curious.

The size I received looks like it is the best size for me in this bra. From the front it looks like it fits, doesn't it? But this bra has so many other problems! I doubt I would ever get a proper fit even in another size. The worst thing about this bra is the insanely wide wires! They go literally to my back. (Look at my back pic, I never had a ... bra fit like that!) There is so much room at the sides of the cups that is unnecesary and is just functioning as part of the band.

The cushion at the end of the wires that should stop wires from digging in, does nothing, it even folds to outside of the cups (see back pic)... it's kinda pointless and now very well thought through. On the front there isn't so much space. The bra looks also very wide and doesn't give a very flattering look. Also it does not much to shape, support and uplift my boobs. It's just a huge fail!

To say something positive: I like how wide and comfortable the shoulder straps are! If I look at other straps on CK bras that are so narrow that my shoulders hurt from even looking at them, that is a plus. The fabric felt nice too.

Oh god that wire is all the way on your back! Insane

    • 2

It is insane to have the wires/cup make up so much of this bra. The band looks so tiny in the back and the wires....so painful. What were the thinking?!? Delightful is not a good name for this bra at all!

    • 1

Wow...I'm not sure what to make of this one..the idea behind it was great, but somewhere in the execution everything seemed to go haywire..

Those wires look painfully wide. :(

    • Yes I don't know what they were thinking?! Also the bra just came out in a new burgundy red color, so it has to sell well? I wonder who wears it? All reviews on btb have been negative so far, no one got a good fit in it.
The bra is more "awfull" than "delightfull" ...

    • 1

      What a nightmare

    • To this day no CK bra ever worked for me. I wonder if any ever will.

    • I still wait for a positive review with pics of how the bra fits properly. I really want to see one, I don't mean a CK model pic where they "make it look great" but a real review.

    • Whoa. Those are the widest wires I've ever seen. Like you, I would adore those straps!

    • 1

    • 1

I agree. I have never seen breasts on a womans back. Seriously. CK has some work to do.

    • Maybe the bra was made specifically for horizontal comfort....๐Ÿ˜‚

    • 3

Dear CK, people don't necessarily scale mathematically. Please test your ideas on real people. Signed, everyone.

    • 1

This would be a great bra for folks with really wide set roots though. There are a few fold who have roots this wide. The demographic is pretty small though.

    • 1

I read somewhere, buried in a comment on reddit I think, that Curvy Kate's fit philosophy is that wires need to be actually wider than the breast tissue for good support. I saw that comment twice and wondered about it both times and even tried to google more information, but couldn't find anything. Now I can't find the comment again, but these wires make me wonder if they do feel that way .

    • 1

You can find it in one of their fit videos (I think for princess plunge maybe, or victory) Pinniped but it's a flawed philosophy. Their bras don't have enough side support (that I know of) to actually justify the wide wires.

    • Did you notice how there is not much band on the bra? I wonder if the cups would not have acted as the band If I had to size up in band size?

    • alisa Yep, I noted the band size above. It's crazy.
How flexible are the wires? Do they feel like they are being distorted towards the back? If so, then sizing up in the band/down in the cup may help, though I would still question the band to cup ratio in general.
I have always loved Curvy Kate designs, but never got a good or comfortable fit in them.

    • Yes, I feel like this is a + 2 or +4 band. The cup is also very big for the size I feel.

I want to try it in 44G or 46G and serif itโ€™s any better.

    • 1

I look forward to reading your findings cupandahalf. It will be interesting to see how it compares.

    • 1

MamaPagan I remember that the wires were quite soft and distorted easily. But the wires were already too wide when I put the bra on, there is just a huge side section in this cups. It's like all the volume is meant to be on the sides in this bra!
I don't think it will work at any size for me. Also I think it's weird that they make a bra where you have to size up 2 band size and down 3-4 cup sizes to get a good fit? Who does that when they order a bra? I just go with my "usual" size when I order, either 32JJ or 32J. There must be many returns of this bra.

cupandahalf Lets us know how it goes. I could put one in a random 36GG or so on my Zalando wish list. They stock the bra and have free shipping and returns in my country. Would be interesting...

    • alisa It really doesn't make any sense, I agree.
My understanding is that manufacturers have the larger side cup area in the larger cup ranges for a minimizing effect of the bust, as they are under the blanket assumption that if you are large busted then you want them smaller. Yet to me, pushing them under my armpits doesn't make my breasts look smaller, but instead just makes my midsection look wider and that is not a look I want at all! Besides many breasts won't squish over and under the arms on command, so such bras tend to be painful and awkward of a fit instead. :-/

    • 2

MamaPagan I never liked those Minimizer bras that my Mom bought for me when I was a teenager. They can't magically hide what is there anyway.

Oh how I dislike the east- west look in bras. With a projected narrow bra like the SF I look like I have a waist and a bit more like the hourglass type.

The wider a bra is, the wider I look on top which I dislike. Also boobs under armpits??? It's uncomfortable! I can type much better on my keyboard if my boobs are in front of me.

It depends on body and boob shape. I remember one blogger that prefered the wide over projected look.

    • 2

      alisa I agree 100%
Got to love our differences in preference!

Very Pretty bra! I love the red color and the polka dots! 32JJ is the best size for me in the bra. The band fits a bit small for the size, but I like that since I'm between a 30 and a 32 band. I don't like that the wires are once again to wide for me on this bra. It does not fit correctly. I find that the cups are taller than on the average CK bra but not as tall as on the Victory (tallest CK bra). The Problem is as always the same: that the CK bras offer lots of space at the sides but ... not enough at the center where I need it the most. The gore does not lie flat and I think that breast tissue would escape from the cups during the day. It also does not feel as supportive as other bras in the same size range from Bravissimo or even Ewa Michalak. I recommend CK bras if you are compatible with the shape they offer (short, wide rather shallow cups) and only then I think that the bra would be supportive enough in the + J cup range. It is not for me sadly.

I have a full review of this bra on my blog http://curvywordy.blogspot.com/2012/01/curvy-kate-princess-in-wine-and-in.html

In summary it is a lovely bra but sadly it was not a good fit for me in band or cup in the sizes I tried. I am hoping to try other sizes though as I think my correct fit is still out there somewhere!

It's a very pretty style with polka dot cups (the dots have a velvety feel to them which is very tactile) and the lower half of the cups is double lined for extra support.

The cups were too wide for me - my preference is definitely for a narrower but deeper cup.

The central gore laid flat on me and the underwires did not poke at all.

Overall a very comfortable bra despite being the wrong size.

I love this bra so much, though I have to admit it's not the absolute most perfect fit. It seems to be more designed for women with breasts further apart than mine, as the straps are almost too wide for me and the top of the cups dig in very slightly on my center-full breasts. The quality is impeccable - thick foam cups in a 4 part construction and so very comfortable to wear. I also think the basic, clean look of it is quite sexy! The band is not as stretchy as the Tease Me bras which is good. Fits true to size in the band but maybe a little small in the cups. I would go up a cup size.

The initial try on was a little tight - while the band was comfortable I had a lot of excess fat under my sternum sort of bow back out noticeably under a tank top which wasn't the best look ever. After a single wear, it fits much better - still fat poking on my upper stomach, but the band is comfortable (light years better than my old 34s). The gore sits nice and flat and I feel the band supports my chest the way that it should.

The straps are a little too far apart for me. I feel like I keep adjusting them to sit ... more like a halter or a cross-back so I am certain I am not using them right. Not a big deal, just a minor issue.

I prefer moulded cups usually, so the soft cups of this is something to get used to. Not sure how I feel about my nipples being totally visible when I walk around in a bra and jeans. However, I love the neutral color of this bra, as it goes with both nude and black colored undies.

The cups are too shallow and wide. As a result, my breasts sit sideways rather than forwards, and the cups do not come up high enough. Apparently most Curvy Kate bras have cups like this, so I don't think I'm going to get along with this brand. It is a really pretty bra though.

I tried this a few weeks ago since it was on clearance for a really good price. I wanted to give CK padded swimwear another try since it seems like they discontinue their unpadded tankinis. This Tankini is a padded bikini bra on a fabric top. I really like the look of this rush style with the crochet fabric.
It didn't work for me. Somehow the cups are too shallow and wide for me and I have empty space on bottom. They are just a mismatch on my boob shape (full on top, projected, tall) and don't quite feel right. I also don't like how thick the padding is and how it made my boobs look bigger. I rather prefer their unpadded tankinis where an unpadded bra is hidden under the top. The matching Bikini short is a great fit and looks really flattering on my mid-to-plus size body and I kept it in a UK size 16 to mix and match with other swimwear.

I've tried this one in a 30J and a 32JJ; the 30J is too tight in the band and too small in the cup. I do find the 32JJ to be tight in the band as well but it fits comfortably. The cup is too big, I would ideally need a 32J. Its a very pretty bra with a sexy edge as its all see through. it's a shame having to send it back! I would say the cup is averagely big.

After ordering a one piece from Panache Swimwear and finding it to be a bit too short in the body which made the wires sit too low on my chest, I decided to go for tankinis instead. Initially I had been apprehensive to try something from Curvy Kate since I had read reviews of older styles which seemed to not scale well for larger cup sizes. This was on a good sale on zulily so I decided to give it a go and I'm glad that I did.

The cups are not as wide as Panache, though perhaps still a little wide for me (I find my ... Ewa Michalak bras to be the right narrowness so most brands are a bit wide for me). It is a little bit difficult to get on since it's basically a bra inside of the tankini, but once I got it on it felt very secure. The band is firm without being too tight. The straps adjust well for any other little adjustments necessary.

The print is cute, little seashells on a pink background. I'm not really a huge fan of pink generally but it is quite cute. The length of the tankini works well for me and the sides can be adjusted to look ruched. I got the side tie bikini shorts in a UK size 12, which fit me pretty well (I wear a US size 8 pants for most brands).

So, this is a very strange bra.

I normally wear a 32J but have this in a 32JJ. The band is a fine size - after a few wears I have to tighten to the middle hooks. The cups . . . I think they fit, but the shape is just very strange.

I feel like I have great projection in this bra. When I feel underneath my bra, there is this great feel of lots of tissue held up - which I love. The gore is lower than most of mine, so I actually get a bit of cleavage in this bra and ... could theoretically wear it under low-cut shirts

Right now it is winter, and I'm liking the warmth of the padding and liking the fact that I can wear this under 2 layers of thick warmth . . . because that way you cant quite see how weird the shape is. But come summer I suspect this bra will languish in my drawers.

The shape is squared-off from one angle and pointy from another. The texture of the top-half is unpleasant (tho I think it looks nice). I cant help but think that, if I were wearing this bra under a t-shirt, random people would ask me what is wrong with my boobs - because it looks like . .. idk, not human. Angular and bizarre shape.

    • This bra did not ever really break in enough to fit me better, and I think I finally realized why - its too wide for me (still) and I'm too center-heavy for it, so my boobs want to escape in the center and I have empty space under my armpits. If my boobs were wider set or just wider, I think it would fit me much better.

    • Wore it again - its a warm day in April - and it just seems to be a bra I cant wear for more than 8 hours max. The lace at the wires just digs in and really hurts me.

Hubby also mentioned that my breasts look further apart in this bra - meaning east-west, I guess - which is not the look I'm going for, since my boobs ARE wider than my body, I'd rather not exaggerate that! I suspect I will give this one away some time, once I have enough bras that really work for me.

He didnt notice the weird angular shape, though.

    • and . .. gained a cup size. this bra at least fits better now. a lot better. still fall towards the center a bit and have a bit empty on the outside, but i'm glad to at least have something that fits

I really liked this Bikini when it fitted me, it was very comfortable and supportive at the same time.
The cups do run a bit generous on these older CK bikinis (this one is from their first Swimwear collection from 2012) so don't get fooled by newer ones that fit 1 cup size small. I could wear a 32J-JJ in those old CK Bikinis when I was a 32JJ-K in bras.

This bra is cute - but I'm not sure it really WORKS.

The entire bra feels very light, which is maybe neither good nor bad, but the fabric is really sheer and lightweight.

I find that this bra does not give me much support at all - before I put the shoulder straps on, its like I'm not wearing a bra at all, so the band is not giving me any support.

The shape is odd - my breasts look rather square? And the ribbons and seams are clearly visible through a t-shirt.

For me, even 'cute' isnt really a plus, as my husband does not like the ribbons.

I wore this bra for most of today and it's delightfully comfortable while looking great. I get that weird upsidedown 7 shape from it a bit, but I don't really care about that so much. As long as it keeps the back pain away, I don't care too much about shape. The gore seems a little too narrow for me? As I move side to side, there are empty spaces on either side of the gore.

I like that this bra is super comfortable and it does keep my boobs lifted and supported. You barely feel like you're wearing anything! I've worn it quite often and the level of support has been maintained, it hasn't really stretched out. So I can vouch for the excellent quality of this bra.

My main complaint is with the sizing. I should have ordered a 30 band size; the 32 band is definitely too loose and I definitely should have ordered a larger cup size. The center gore is not sitting flat against my chest and my boobs are spilling out of the cups, especially when I bend over or more around. I have to constantly adjust the bra, but this is only a very temporary fix. As someone with full on top boobs, I don't think this bra is the best fit for me. I would like to try a 30K to see if this is a better fit.

Feels quite comfy even though has a few fit issues.

gives breasts an ugly/droopy shape because straps are way too long and only shorten half way! Might try shorten the straps on this to make it much better
    Wire position is great.
Wire part sits flat but fabric 'pipes' just above wire in the central gore are empty so lean a little forward
slight wrinkle at bottom of cups but may just be due to the sheer fabric being layered and again the drooping due to stupidly long straps

main problem is straps are too far apart and tend to slip off shoulders

    Really pretty bra
