I scoured the earth for this bra, after I received my Cleo Lucy and fell in love with the shape it gave me... I knew I needed the purple Kali, as I own entirely too much purple stuff. As this is an older colorway, I could not find my usual size of 36F-- I did, however, manage to land a sister size (38E) still new with tags on eBay-- lucky day for me!
Honestly, going to the larger-banded sister size may have ended up being a very happy happenstance. The only downfall is that there is some slight wrinkling in the lace portion of the cup(edit: After tightening the ...straps slightly, the lace issue became a non-issue. Cheers!), but not enough to be a deal-breaker. It seems to me so far, that for every area where the Lucy failed, the Kali has more than succeeded. Perhaps it's that the band was a bit too tight on the Lucy, but the Kali's band is perfect for me. I do believe both bands will loosen up with time/washes, and I might be best off in a 37 band, if such a thing existed-- there is only a one inch difference between my snug underbust and tight underbust measurements. Where the very ends of the hooks on the Lucy were rubbing my mid-inner back (enough to annoy me and be aware of their rubbing-- it's one of the reasons I think maybe the Lucy is a bit too small in the band for me), there was no issues with the Kali. The wires also seem to be a tiny bit wider than with the Lucy-- I don't have that irritating rubbing issue, which almost makes the Lucy unwearable. I do have to wonder if the issues I have with the Lucy's underwire would be eliminated if I went to the 38E sister size. Maybe next time. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
Overall, I was very comfortable at work when I wore this. It's a pretty bra, and I am very happy with the color and look. The Kali does seem to have less of a rounded shape than the Lucy, but you can't really tell much of a difference, especially with a shirt on. Read more 263 more words
I know what you mean about the 37 band, I'd be lining up right behind you for 31 bands!
Saphiro Ugh, the worst part is that even with a 40lb weight fluctuation, my underbust measurement is exactly the same as it's always been! I'm determined to be wide and uncomfortable in 36 bands, lol.
The Lucy is my best feeling bra next to my Kali. I believe they are supposedly the same cut. As with all Panache and especially Cleo bras, the band runs at least one size small, so size up one band. I do not see or feel much of a difference in the cup on the 38E over the 36E. It certainly does not feel like a whole cup larger, maybe 1/2 cup size up -- good for the five pound up times. The quality is superb. The lace on the top of the cup does not stay stiff or itchy past its second wash.
This bra was really pretty! I don't normally like mesh/unpadded bras, but this one was nice. It gives a very round shape, which I like. It has narrow straps and the band is nice and snug. The raspberry color is really nice and looked great on my pale self https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />. It didn't poke or pinch. The back has only 2 hooks, which may be a positive or negative depending on your taste. I was advised to order my UK size and the cups were too small. They were also narrow - not sure if sizing up will help fix that or not. I ended up having to return it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Honestly, I meant to buy a UK 38F but was sent a US F. The bra looks great and fits pretty well! I imagine it would feel amazing if I had been sent the proper size.
I got extremely lucky with this bra. I managed to track down the set-- matching bra and panties in the berry colorway-- new on Ebay for only $25 shipped. Plus, it was in the larger-banded sister size, which I wanted to try out after giving the slightly-too-tight black 36F Lucy a try.
This bra is extremely comfortable, and the berry colorway really looks great against my skintone. I'm overall very happy with it, though it suffers from the same lack of projection/left upper cup wrinkling [from smaller breast] issues that all my bras seem to suffer from. These minor problems are not enough to deter me from this bra, and I must admit that I feel so sexy in the matching set. It has compelled me to track down the matching panties for my other new bras.
I think that if I could find the correct size in this bra it would be amazing!! I need help! This is a 38E. I am used to US sizes but since gaining weight I have yet to find a bra that fits! The cup is obviously too small, and the band too tight. Is the band so tight because the cups are too small? What size should I consider trying next? I can't go to a store for a proper fitting because both times I've gone to VS and JCpenny they've sized me as a 40 DD which does not fit! Thanks in advance ladies!
Love the fabric. Super soft but still firm. Great projection, kind of like a neon sign saying look at me. Center gore tacks on my sternum, which is extremely rare in just about every bra I own.
*Note I would need a 38F/FF in this bra now. Love it! Great moulded cup for close set, lower/mid full breasts. Check out my review for all of the details.
