I saw the Cleo Neve in coral at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago, and I was instantly smitten. It seemed to combine so many things I was looking for in a bra -- it's a plunge, a T-shirt bra, and a neutral (but pretty) solid color that I could wear under light-colored shirts. Nordstrom Rack didn't have anything near my size, so I ordered one online (for twice as much, of course). Because I wear the Cleo Darcy in 30GG (instead of the expected 30H), I ordered the Neve in 30GG. Nooooope. Way too small. The molded cups are very thin and soft. Comfy (even in the ...wrong size), but my breasts just push them completely out of shape. The fabric on the bottoms of the cups is twisted, because of the way my breasts push the too small cups down. I'm quadboobing over the tops of the cups. And this bra demonstrates the infamous Neve defect: the top inch of the cups folds over outward. This may be exacerbated by the cups being too small -- but even if the bra fit, the defect would probably manifest itself to some extent. Still, the coral color is gorgeous and becoming, and the gore is very comfortable. The Neve has enough potential that I'm exchanging this one for a 30H. Read more 112 more words
Before I tried the Darcy, I tried its sister cut, the Juna, in a 32GG -- itself a sister size of my usual bra size, 30H. This turned out to be far too large, in both band and cups. I was unsure if I needed to go one cup size down or two, and ended up trying the Darcy down just one cup size. And it fits! The lace trimming on the cups does stick up, but the cups don't otherwise gape. The reviews I've read of Juna and its sisters disagree about what the lace means, if it doesn't lie flat. Some say that this means the ...bra doesn't fit; some say that the lace sticking up has nothing to do with fit. I cannot answer this question. In my case (wide, tall root; shallow; FOB), the cups fit well in a cup size smaller than my usual size, but the lace sticks up. My only other quibble is the gore. It presses inward to a very uncomfortable degree; I've been using a folded-up tissue as padding between the gore and my skin. I've only worn the bra a few times so far, and if it doesn't soften up I will try bending the wires. Read more 98 more words
Really great bra and I just love the design but it was just not meant to be. This bra is more for people who are FOT and I just got this empty space near the top of the cups.
This was supposed to be my perfect fit bra. My boobs are uneven. The left is slightly larger, and it fills up the cup fantastically (maybe even a slight quadboob on some days). The right is less large, and the cup gapes at the top a little. I'm not actually a huge fan of non-moulded or padded cups, but I love the parrot print, the padded straps, and it's great for clothes that I want to de-emphasize my bust in, where I'd get major spillage and quadboob if I wore a moulded style bra.
Fits like most unpadded Cleo balconnettes. Gives a round, uplifted shape with lots of projection. The band is much looser, however, and the bra doesn't stay put as well as my Marcie, Melissa, Ellis, etc.
A word of caution to top-heavy ladies out there: the Bella is somewhat closed on top, more like a Meg or Lily than a Marcie. I opted for a GG because of this, and had I sized down in the cup it's likely it would have solved my band/wide wires issues, but I would probably have quadboobed because of my tall root.
Oh, and the promo pictures never impressed me. Somehow, the pattern and colours just looked... too much. I was gladly surprised when it arrived. It's so much prettier in real life. My favourite part is the details on the mesh - polka dots, lemon-coloured butterflies, bird and sun embroidery.
Weirdly enough, the 2014 (Bird Print) model of the Darcy has a few differences than the 2012 version. For instance, on my 30GG there are actually two vertical seams on the cup rather than one. It looks like this isn't the case on smaller cup sizes, but it is definitely welcome on mine; I'm FOB and it helps immensely.
Another thing that I feel I should mention is that the Bird Print version is actually a semi-sheer print fabric over top of the normal cup fabric. It looks fine, but it's weird until you're used to it, and it makes the cup less smooth feeling.
I like this bra. It's the best fitting one I've had in my "real size" (non-VS size, ha). But that's not saying much. But the lady at the lingerie shop thought it fit too. And honestly when I first tried it on, it did seem better than this.
I feel like it flattens me a little bit. And I seem to get some digging in from the gore. Occasionally in to my sternum and sometimes it will sort of poke my breast. I also only bought it a week ago and I can pretty easily and comfortably put it on the tightest hooks.
This bra is absolutely stunning! I love the colors they used to make it. Everything about this bra is perfect except, the cups are a little too small. If they were a cup size bigger then this bra would have been perfect!
Love this fit. Very front and center, uplifted, for my narrow-root boobs. The 30 band in this Maya feels stretchier than my 32 band in my 32G - Cleo ยป Natasha Balconnet (6841). Also, this 30GG fits better than my 34FF @Cleo Meg. I can't quite fill the top of the cups in the 34FF Meg, but I don't have that problem in this 30GG. Note--I am finally finding my correct size! I've had the cup volume right for a while, I just couldn't accept that I was actually a 30 band (have gone from 34FF to 32G to now a 30GG during the last several months, even though I have measured 29" this whole time). I love the brightly colored animal print!
I don't have enough upper fullness for this bra. It felt great along the bottom of the cups, but the fabric needed to stop an inch or so lower than it does, for me.
The gore is far too high for me, and it's too wide.
The band is rather stretchy, so this would be best for a 32Gish, I would think.
I love the feel of the fabric, and it's absolutely adorable, but it isn't good for my shape.
I had been looking for this colour of Lucy for months! I am generally a 32 band in Cleo, but since I had been looking for this one so long I decided to give the 30GG a shot. It turns out that the Lucy tends to have a stretchy band, and it fit! It was a great moment for me, but something wasn't right... Well I've learnt that above G bands in Cleo, the bra straps get wider... Well then. I mean, it is okay, it's just not my favourite, it makes the appearance less than perfect. I like thin straps, the band is all the main support I need. Other than the disappointment about the straps, this bra is all around a perfect fit, a 32G might be a bit looser than recommended, but I'd still trade this one for a 32G. By the way, why the arbitrary change? A 30GG is the same cup size as a 32G, or a 34FF! Yet those have this straps? I will be sticking to 32G's in the future with Panache.
Lower 3/4 of the cup fits perfectly, while the top section feels like I could fit another half boob in there. I wear a 30G normally (30GG in Cleo Lily Balconnet Bra (7351)), so wrinkling was expected, but perhaps not to this extent. Wires are only slightly too wide, but don't pinch, so it's entirely wearable. Wings and wires come up quite high under my arms, but not so much that it's uncomfortable, I only feel very secure (which I like). Straps sit in a good place too, but I have broad shoulders. Overall it's a great bra, but the wrinkly cups brings it down to a 70-80% fit and makes it unwearable unless I throw a heavy knit on top. Shame.
EDIT: Once upon a time, I loved this bra, but as I experienced tissue migration and learned more about fit, it has become a torture device. It is too shallow and slides down, the wires are too wide, the straps were always too wide-set, but the too-high and too-wide gore has really become torturous for me... I still love the round, cakes-on-a-plate look, though.
This is by far the best bra I've tried. I have a high-set, round, even to slightly full on top bust with a lot of immediate projection, and I'm in love with the feel and appearance of this bra. ... I love the high, rounded shape (the silly lace on the top doesn't show through shirts), and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bottom of the cups were deep enough for me. I tried it first in a 32G (my "regular" size is 32FF or 32G) and the cups fit perfectly but the band was too loose, even on the tightest hook. Sizing down to a 30GG worked great. The gore is a little bit too high for me, but the wires are a little shorter than the channel, so I was able to push them down and I might add a few stitches to keep them in place. I think the wires are also a tad bit wide, but not enough to feel like I'm losing support. The only thing I wish was different about this bra are the straps - the whole length of the strap is stretchy, but they only adjust part-way. I am very petite in terms of torso length, and I have them shortened all the way, which is okay for now, but if they stretch out much at all, I will have to alter them. Read more 202 more words
This is a very pretty bra but the shape did not work for me. The wires were too narrow for me and so the outside of the cup dug into me under my arm. The center was a little too high and the dug in, as well. I only wore this one time for a total of maybe 10 hrs because it was just too uncomfortable for my shape. The cup and band size seemed good, though.
Sigh. This bra feels too shallow until I pull it to where my crease is supposed to sit; then I can't fill the cup. Band size is alright, but it seems the cup width is contributing to that. Back it goes.
Very nice looking bra - well structured, and like other bras in the cleo line. This is basically the same bra as Lily, but with a different pattern. And, like several of the fully-banded Cleo bras, it's more suitable to an FOT shape than an FOB shape, so ended up gaping at the top of the cup, even in my smaller size.
I think this would be a great bra for a projected, FOT shape, but is not ideal for FOB breasts.
Was this the yellow flamingo bra or the hearts?
