  1. Maddie Moulded T-shirt Bra (7201)

Bra fits well but runs a bit small in the cup. Went up a cup size. Band is very comfortable. Could downsize to a 28 band but wasnt available at time of purchase in 28GG so wear it on middle hook. Not an upfront shape more wide but beautifully smooth under form fitting tops and dresses.

The cups are shallow with not enough projection at the bottom of the cups, which isn't good if you're FOB.

    Didn't fit

This bra was fitted for me at Bravissimo in London.

The fitter recommended that I wear it on the tightest setting. I actually found that after a few hours it was really uncomfortable and digging in to me which was a surprise for me as I've been wearing underwire bras for years with very few issues and wondered why women often complained about them. I finally decided to wear it on the second hook which improved things comfortwise but now only a few weeks later after very little wear it has apparently stretched because I need to wear it on the tightest setting again. Seems that maybe I ... need a smaller band to allow for stretching?

The underwires dig in under the arms but they don't seem too high or too narrow so maybe it's just my body shape that's causing it.

After a few minutes of wear the centre gore does seem to come away from my sternum a small amount.

The straps are only just long enough for me.

Update: Initially I had problems with my Cleos when I first got them - the straps seemed to want to cut my arms off and the centre gores seemed too wide. I guess I've grown into them because they're now my favourite bras and I no longer have those issues.

As with all of my Cleos, the wires are possibly a bit wide for my chest but they're comfortable and leagues ahead of anything else I've tried.

Weight gain has also resulted in me wearing my Cleos on the loosest setting. Hopefully I won't have to start looking for 32F's soon

Oh, Maddie. I've tried this bra so many times over the past few years. I've tried it in pink, black, light blue and leopard print. I've tried it in 30FF, 30G, 30GG, 32F, 32FF, 32G and 32GG. There is nothing I can do to get this bra to fit. All I want is a simple, moulded balconette bra. Is that so much to ask? Apparently so. Where do I begin with Maddie. Bane of my existence, she's always on a rack and always on sale and so I keep trying. On the models, this bra looks gorgeous. On me, it makes my pendulous boobs look like bullets who ... are angry with each other.

I have soft, pendulous and high set boobs with shortish roots and am slightly full on top. I am reviewing the 30G because that is the size that should currently fit me best. The 30GG is too big and the 30G cuts in too much at the top. That is basically the story of my life with every Cleo bra I've tried except for 30GG - Cleo » Neve Plunge T-shirt Bra (7196) . The molding is also very stiff and the wires and cup edges go up way too high into my armpits. From the too-tight band to the unforgiving cups, this bra hurts. I also can't recommend it for petites. I honestly don't get how other people get a nice rounded shape. I get a funny oblong shape that points outwards. Why, Maddie?

The cups are far too tall for me and too high in the armpit. They also cut in drastically at the top. This doesn't cause quadding because the end of the cup is so high up my root. Instead, it just hurts my chest. The wires are too wide and the cup gives me a weird, oblong bullet shape (maybe because of my pendulous/soft tissue). I know a lot of people swear by this half cup, but it gives me such a weird shape and is so shallow on top; it's incredibly uncomfortable. It's the most torturous of any bra I've tried.

Bought this bra in two sizes and The one size that fit (32G) fits wonderfully! Narrow gore and wires. There is a surprising amount of projection in this bra! gives a very lifted round upfront shape. brand new with tags. Will be adding pictures and listing this bra

I bought this bra without knowing anything about it, just because I loved the stars. The fit is similar to Marcie, although the top lace is looser and seems to want a little more fullness, especially toward the center. It's not enough of an issue for me, though, to return it. The lift and support is still there. Initially, there was some odd wrinkling/in-cup quad-boob, but it was gone after one wash.

  8. Nyla Balconnet Bra (7571)

It's the same cut as Marcie/Melissa etc., but has the same issue as Millie, Ellis and some others, which is that the top mesh part of the cup is larger and looser than the bottom part, making my soft tissue pool up and out, creating an in-cup quadboob. I think firmer breasts would do better in this style because of this.

Anyway, the rest of the bra is great. The band is snug, wires are narrow, fits great, and the shape is round like most Cleos. Cleo balconettes are my solid rock to lean my boobs on when the bra winds are harsh and unkind. Admittedly, the wires and ... gore are a little too wide for my very narrow boobs, but it's not something I notice much, and it brings me no discomfort, even after a full day's wear.

The upper cup is a vivid pink chequered mesh, the bottom cup has a floral pattern in yellow, pink and teal on a blueish purple base, a pattern which continues on the front of the band. The shoulder straps and back of the band are a deep turquoise. I quite like the palette, but as so often I wanted the colours to be just a little bit different, maybe a warmer purple and a greener turquoise? It is pretty green, greener than most "green" "jade" or "emerald" bras (pfffft! They can never satisfy my need for green. I scoff at their feeble attempts)

Despite the boob pooling issue, it's a keeper. It's still cute and comfy and I like it enough to look past its minor failings. I can always adjust my boobs once every couple of hours, no big deal. I've encountered much, much worse in the bra world.

This is the first bra that I found that fit me really well. I've now had it for a month and I'm needing to loosen the straps because the top is cutting in (whereas before I needed to tighten them). I'm not sure whether it's because I've been gaining fat or because of shape changes resulting from better fitting bras. Either way, I love that it's a supportive, slightly whimsical bra.

It isn't the most comfortable bra I have - the straps are too wideset for me and the wings are slightly too high in a way that cuts into my armpits when I'm typing or writing. I've had ... this problem in a lot of other bras, so I think it's a combination of having high roots and narrow shoulders for me. The band feels rather tight and I'm more comfortable with an extender, even though my snug measurement is ~30.2in and the bra stretches to ~32.

I believe I have an average root width with projection, and the Lucy is just perfect for this combination. It gets touted a lot as a "full on bottom" bra, but I think you need to have a shape that is closer to even fullness because the upper lace is actually rather loose. I have the pink/white colourway.

    First thoughts:

Tons of buckling on the bottom of the cups, while I bubble out the top somewhat-to-significantly, depending on how I adjust myself. I would want to try it in a smaller cup just to see how the buckling works, but I'm sure it would just exasperate the doubleboob (quadboob).

The band is too loose; I have it on the tightest pair of hooks, and would probably benefit from a 28.

I like it's plunginess and the low gore. I always have the gore squishing down an some breast and separating them further than they really want to go. My breasts are not all that close or all that far ... either, I don't really know what their issue is, but it's nice not having gore marks on the breast tissue.

It gives me somewhat of a purple shape, even though it is a green cut. It's not good nor bad, just... eh. I feel like the apex of the cup is too far from the apex of my breasts, and, coupled with the bubbling, they feel like they're heading NW and NE.

The very top of the cups (near the straps) is empty, but that's just how it is when a cup doesn't match your shape and vice versa.

The wires seem fine, the straps seem fine, the height under the arms seems a little taller than my other bras, but I like it.

I like the colors. The floral lace with the stars seems kinda weird, but meh. The fabric is fun to touch; it's all stretchy and thin.

  11. Lucy Balconnet Bra (5851)

For some reason I can't bring myself to be very excited about the Cleo Lucy. I think the shape it gives my breasts leaves me underwhelmed and it doesn't feel as supportive as a Meg Balconnet or Natasha Balconnet. But I decided to give the Lucy a chance; surely there must be some spot for it in my bra wardrobe. After all, it seems like it technically fits in a 30G, my "default" size.

The color is cheerful and the material definitely seems softer than the aforementioned Cleo bras. The cups are a good width and the wires are the right length for ... me. If the cups were any wider, they would definitely be too wide. At this current width, they do a good job of reigning in my armpit-boob area. The wires come up at the right height in that they don't collide with my armpits. And the gore doesn't come up too high, in fact, it seems just right. In general, it's what I really like about Cleo bras: the length of the underwires and the height of the cups and gore are right in the comfort zone. The top of the cups are open and don't cut in, and the edges are a nice touch.

The Lucy doesn't really bring my boobs up front and center (as much as they CAN be put up front and center lol) like the other Cleos. Perhaps the shape is closer to my natural shape? Nor are my boobs smashed into my armpits.

Is the Lucy comfortable? Well, it passed my sleep test and "can I do push-ups in it?" test, so I would say it's up there, comfort-wise. My only complaint: after a period of time, the elastic on the bottom edge of the band in the back tries to roll up a little. I don't know if it has to do with the band tightness (I like a SNUG band) or if it is the nature of the elastic being so skinny. I should mention that because I like a snug band, and I'm in between band sizes (29 inches), I use the middle hooks.

When I first got the Lucy, there was the tiniest bit of wrinkling at the top of the cups, at least if I hunched over. Wearing it now, there's no wrinkling at the top of the cups, but no quadboob either. Because of the smooth profile, I can wear it under a silk knit dress and there's no tell-tale bra signs, even with the lace.

Overall, this may not be the most thrilling bra, but it does the job. I can always use a decent unpadded bra that doesn't come up to my clavicle or stab me in the chest!

[UPDATE:] After having this bra for a bit and trying other unpadded bras from Kris Line, I've concluded that I can do better, comfort-wise. I think the straps are too wide set, because they kind of dig into the top of my armpits. And then the CUPS -not the wires- cut into my pec muscles, where the cups meet the straps. If I wear the bra for too long, it leaves painful red marks above the armpit region, where my arm meets my shoulder. Another thing I've discovered is that the gore is too wide, because after a while, the edges of the gore dig into breast tissue. It's weird, because I've never thought of myself as having close-set breasts, because they're kind of splayed. But the roots of my breasts are about a finger width apart, and the gore is just a little wider. I didn't pay attention to this until I started wearing bras with a super narrow gore like Ewa Michalak and Kris Line, and realized they are more comfortable there.

I find that this fits similarly to the Cleo Eleanor. Gives a very upfront, round shape.

Edit 9/28/2012: I concluded that the band on this is actually a little too tight for me--while I can fasten it, the wires distort and the hooks strain at the back. Replaced with a 32FF, which works much better. Consider sizing up in the band on this one.

I want to love this bra, I really do. I think it's very pretty. It's got a fairly good fit, though the wires are a bit high up on the outside, but not to the point I can't stand it. I have a bit of a gap at the bottom of the cup, but following the advice that I was given on another bra, pulling on the wire to place it more properly, doing a bit of a bounce and wiggle, it helps a lot there. I don't think this will be an everyday bra for me, but it will definitely be one that ... I pull out for certain outfits to give a bit more cleavage. Overall, I'm happy with the choice, and will definitely try other in the Cleo and Panache lines.

I'm still giving this some break in time. On further wearing, the wires aren't too high, and I've edited my fit on it. What rubs is the side of the cup that rubs on my lower armpit area a bit, and hopefully with more wear it will fit a bit better. I'm not quite ready to give it up yet, as I really like the look it gives me with some t-shirts.

    • Sounds exactly like me with the 2 colors I wore. The fact is the cup was just built for a different boob shape/root (like if yours are high-set, middle or lower). Thanks to Bratabase I sold my blue one and I just have the purple sitting around. I would highly recommend trying the Cleo Juna/Poppy/Sadie for a lightly padded bra. Those seemed to work for me I just have yet to own one. Totally looking forward to the new SS12 version "Rihanna". :)

The pattern on this bra is awesome. When I first saw it online I thought it was some sort of leopard/cheetah print, but it's actually feathers. The colors are a blending of greys and purples, two of my favorites, so I loved it instantly.

While this bra is supportive, I plan on using it mainly more for going out and weekends than for everyday activities, as it does give a good amount of cleavage and really puts my boobs up front and center. Not really something I want to wear to work.

It's fairly low and straight across, so if you're full on top, you might have trouble spilling out.

The only really problem I have with the bra is that it looks a little worn after only a couple wears, I hope it holds up ok.

So in conclusion. July 2022 was a good time to be alive. Back to Kayla the bountiful. Maybe I'll attempt an extender and do the unthinkable, wear Kira with titty in the band.

I got this bra quite a while ago and have worn it on a regular basis, but just now remembered that I haven't written a review of it.

Shape info: narrow root (Omega shape?), high on chest, pendulous

I'm so glad I bought this bra.
Technically fit-wise it isn't perfect, but I think it comes pretty close to being perfect and it is very comfortable. The few fit issues that I did notice (gore doesn't tack completely, maybe a tiny bit too wide at the center front) don't cause any pain or too much instability, so I mark this bra as fitting.

    *What's good about this bra:*
    * It is made of a ... very soft, smooth fabric on the lower cup and lightweight lace on the top part of the cups.
    * It is VERY comfortable to wear. It doesn't slide down in the front (enough space/projection in the lower part of the cup) and that is a huge plus.
    * Its fabric is printed with a pattern in a lovely color combination (oh if I could count the times when I've found something that comes kind of close to fitting but is a terrible color/pattern for me...). I love the look of it! : )
    * The straps are fully adjustable! That is great.

*The only cons I can think of:*
    * The straps sometimes slide off my shoulders. No idea where's the issue - the band seems to be snug and in place, the straps are well-adjusted, I think. Also they don't seem to be placed too far apart. It tends to happen with movement. If that happens and I don't have a chance to put the strap back immediately, the cup fabric tends to flop over downwards after a bit and then awkward side-effects of that tend to happen. : |
    * The hook&eye closure has stretched out a bit after wearing it for a while. I don't know by how much, but it is visibly distorted. I've seen articles online saying that if this happens the bra band is too small, but I don't think that is the case here. The band is comfortable.

This bra's measurements have been altered
I wouldn't call this an alteration, but the bra might've changed a tiny bit since I got it and I thought I should indicate that. I've been wearing this bra for a while now and the hook&eye closure has stretched out a bit - can't tell how much exactly but it is visibly distorted. I thought that might influence how long the band measurements turn out to be.
