Here is a bra adventure with a hope for help. After going to two different stores this week, and trying on many many bras, I have come to the decision that my boobs just cannot handle a full cup bra. However, my breasts also dont seem to fill out balconette bras either in B cups or higher, and there were no A cups to try out. My boobs just dont look like they are supposed to in this type of bra either. So if balconette and full coverage dont work what am I left with?

have you tried any demi or half-cups? Also, what sizes are you looking for?
Oh I stalked you a bit, you my friend have shallow boob problems :) Fear not, your timing is impeccable because this was just published ^^

I have a few Ewa Michalak in 75G's & 75GG's that I would be willing to exchange with someone for a 70H/HH/J. Message me!

If you measured your bra this weekend, could you please check that the gore height is not on 0?
Thanks to Aaa for pointing out this bug that was introduced on Friday

I've been on an adventurous search for a strapless bra which will actually provide support and lift and not end up as a weird uncomfortable belt by the end of the day. The winner is the Va Bien Ultra Lift! I can safely say this is the first time in my life I have found a strapless bra which WORKS, ... and I am very much looking forward to wearing cute strapless summer tops and sundresses without feeling like my boobs are a danger to myself. Seriously, this is life-changing. I haven't worn a strapless top or any kind of top with spaghetti straps since I was maybe 12 or 13!
I also tried the Freya Deco strapless, and it is a very close second, so I purchased it as well. The two bras give quite different shapes, with the Freya Deco Strapless (4233) being more rounded and the Va Bien Ultra Lift Strapless (1506) providing cleavage that just won't quit. However, I just feel way more supported in the Va Bien, and that's no small feat because my breasts are heavy.

I just looked it up and was surprised to see the model on Amazon appeared to be wearing the correct size. That's pretty rare. Sadly, not in my size, but I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it!
I am now curious how it looks on you but you havne't put it up yet :p what size did you take anyway?

This follows from the discussion on http://www.bratabase.com/browse/bravissimo/inspire-sports-au27/34GG/#review-8697 between me and prettyNpetite but others are quite welcome to join!

I don't think your breasts are taller than mine, prettyNpetite so much as higher set. I was looking at the picture you posted with the outline traced at http://imgur.com/a/dMzhe#1 and I just did one of mine (although I'm not sure where to upload it; I'm feeling kind of lazy about creating an account just for that) and the bottom of my breasts is pretty much even with my elbows. They just go up to the collarbone from there. Total height is probably about 18 cm, with about 6 of that being more or less flat. I should link this to the last discussion of this that I was having with Branarchist if only I could find it (computer is making it hard to search right now).
You definitely should link it to Branarchist! If you can't find it though, she'll see it here :) Yeah maybe you're right in the fact that mine aren't taller than yours, just simply higher set!
Oh won't you please make an imgur account? You got me so curious! It'll be done so quickly and it's like the best online image sharer because if you set it to private or hidden (don't remember which) only those with the link can see it! :) That way, no creepers will see it.

I wrote a post explaining why all this happened and what are the steps taken to address this.
I hope it clears most doubts, please comment if there's more that could be added to help, and spread the word if you've seen people asking and being frustrated with this, I hope you guys can understand why this is happening.

A while ago I shared my frustrations about the lack of racerback/multiway and longline bras in my size (28GG/H). A few weeks ago, I traded with jennameowbles for a Freya Ivy longline in 30G - the cups on this model were said to run a little bigger than some of the other Freya longlines, so I hoped ... I might be able to either wear it on the smallest hook, or alter it by adding a stiff ribbon to control stretch.
When I received the Ivy, I was relieved to discover the cups were the perfect size. The band, on the other hand, stretched to over 33' - it's unstretched measurement was only slightly smaller than my ribcage. It provided no support, even on the smallest hook.
I was relieved to discover that the 30G Ivy had a 2" panel on each side made of a non-stretch fabric. By folding it over end-to-end, I could shorten the band by 1.5" on each side. I sewed it folded flat with some very messy chained handstitching (the green stitching in the picture, but this left a very thick triple-layered fold along the band, so I notched the band and sewed that flat (the red stitching).
Once this alteration was complete, the bra became quite wearable. However, because the length had been taken out of the sides, the bra straps were positioned a little bit further out than on the average 28GG. Rather than move them closer in, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to test altering it into a racerback configuration. This was also a great success (ignore the wonky way I did up the hooks in the racerback picture - taking a bra on and off quickly for pictures led to some...interesting hook arrangements).
I now own a well-fitted approximation of a racer-backed longline bra in a 28GG. Given this success, I feel confident I can alter a 30G Freya Deco longline for my strapless and multiway needs.
I've also decided to make this bra my ground zero for future test alterations. Next, I want to narrow the gore (it is a little too wide, and the band could afford to be a little tighter than it is, even post alterations. I also want to add a band stiffener of some kind (maybe a thick bias tape? along the bottom flange of the longline, to help control the crumpling and folding that happens.

Awesome! Just one question, how did you get into it? A longline with racerback straps... Did you have to loop your arms through first and then hoop the band?
Yep, I slip into it with the back undone, shake my boobs into the cups, and then hook the back. Fairly minimal scoop and swoop required after.
Hooking longline bras in general is a sort of contortionist act, since in my size I can't really do them up in the front and then spin around. I was concerned this one would be even more confusing, but it's actually a little easier, since the racerback straps hold the band steady while I'm doing up the hooks.

Those of you who like measuring yourselves, here's a new technique which was proposed on /r/abrathatfits: bust in a bra + above bust in a bra - above bust without a bra. For me it does not come close, but it would be interesting to find out if my experience is common.

I was the one who found the link (it's sad when your measurements give you away even on a site where there's plenty of busty women). For me, it comes close and possibly overcompensates a little. I'd describe myself as being slightly fuller on top, but I have very full, projected breasts in general.
I measured up as per the method as a 28LL, and would estimate that I'd need about a 28L, which is pretty close. I certainly would be happy with one cup out as a starting size. Other redittors have found the measurement to be grossly inaccurate though.
I got confused on what to substract from where :D
I have 32 for underbust size and 44 for corrected bust size. So I *think* I calculate the cup size with band size 34, which makes a 10 in difference, and then add 2 cup sizes to get my 32 underband cup size. That would be 32L US, or 32HH UK. So about right maybe? I use 32H as my starting point usually.
I think that the "correction" with overbust difference is useless for me though, because my boobs don't bust out from my bra. My overbust is simply larger with bra on because my bra does what I want it to do - it lifts my boobs up. If I just use my non-corrected measurements, I get one cup size less, which I think is my "real size". But nevertheless, it works just about as well as most decent calculators.

For some strange reason I cannot tag this bra: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/curvy-kate/starlet-moulded-bra-ck2501/ but it is here on Bratabase... It's supposed to be the same as the Curvy Kate Smoothie (CK1401) , but I wonder if it will fit like the new or old Smoothies, or if they will have redone the design again by then...
I'm looking forward to trying their updated versions, since the old ones gave me a droopy unnatural look. I'm hoping the strap position has been changed.
