The Little Bra Company - rant / help
I need to return the two TLBC bras I bought, and choose a better size / style. I thought I would share some of the email exchange I've had with them, trying to get their advice on the best size to order. Confused.com!
I started out by mailing them saying that I'd bought:
- Lucia in 28B, ... and I think I would be a 30B in Lucia if not for the cups being too close together.
- Yvonne in 28A (chosen because TLBC website says this model is "roomy"). I estimate that the cups are two sizes too small, and I think I would be a 28C in Yvonne if not for the wires being too short under my arms.
I sent them a link to my pics wearing both bras on Bratabase, and also mentioned that I usually wear a 28B in Mimi Holliday .
They recommended a Nicole or Ethel for my body shape. Fine, that's what I picked up from the website. But they suggested that I should get a 28B in those models, which seemed odd, as I'd said I thought I was 28C or 30B in the other models I'd tried. So I queried it as follows:
"Are you saying that Nicole and Ethel in 28B are both equivalent sizes to the Yvonne in 28C, and the Lucia in 30B? If not, what size would you say the Nicole and Ethel 28B equate to in Yvonne and Lucia? And you would definitely recommend 28B in Nicole and Ethel, rather than 28C?"
They replied saying "The Nicole and Ethel are both similar to Yvonne in the same size (28B)". !!!
So I replied:
"Please would you explain why you’re recommending 28B? If the Yvonne 28A appears to be two cup sizes too small, I’m not sure why you’re suggesting 28B rather than 28C?"
And their final reply has destroyed my faith in them having any idea what they're talking about! They said:
"Based on the pictures you previously provided, it does look like you are between a 28B and a 28C in the Yvonne. For clarification, the 28B will provide the lift and coverage you desire better than the 28A did. If you desire even more coverage, the 28C will be a good option. Therefore, depending on your preference of how much coverage you would like, a 28B or a 28C will both work well for you."
Seriously, they're saying that the main difference between a B cup and a C cup is that a C cup provides "more coverage" ?!?!? And they're also suggesting that either a B or C cup "will both work well for you"? And I didn't say that I "desire" "lift and coverage" - I just want something that fits!!
Now I don't know what to do! 28B or C? I'm thinking C, but I've been reading turtlegurl38 's TLBC reviews, and she seems to be about 1.5 cup sizes bigger than me, based on the fact that she fits Mimi Holliday 28D (I'm 28B-C in Mimi), and TLBC Ethel and Nicole both in 28C. Should I go for 28B?? DOH!

I looked at your pictures and I can't tell whether you should try B or C next. But I do think I can interpret what TLBC said. They think you are a 28B but don't want to offend you/the customer is always right, so they're telling you to go for the C if you want more coverage -- it's true that one thing a bigger cup provides is more coverage.
I don't think they don't know what they're talking about, I just think they're being polite. They may or may not be right about you fitting 28B best -- you'll just have to try I think. If there were shape incompatibilities in the bras you tried, it makes sense that you wouldn't go by those to figure out your size in this company.
Can you afford to get both and send one back?
