I recently tried the Panache Sports Bra (5021) in a few sizes and found one that fits more or less I wanted to write this short (haha) adventure about my experiences with them. I tried 34H, 36H, 38H. (For the records I usually wear a 32K/KK in Panache)
First about the bra in general:
+ ... It is beyond comfortable!
+ Padded wire channels / wide shoulder straps
+ Band is wide and supportive
+ racer-back option
+ very nice round shape (not the dreaded flat boob shape)
+ good for lighter activities or lounging
- limited size range (If there was 34J / 34JJ, I think that would be my "proper" size)
- it does limit bouncing somewhat but I doubt I'd go jogging with this bra or do heavy impact activity
- gore does not tack (in any of the sizes I tried)
34H pink
was clearly too small in cups and band. The combination of too small cups and too small band made it unbearable. I got some overspill on top and on the sides. With racer-back option it prevented bouncing best (compared to 36H and 38H) but I could barely breathe in it. (
36H grey
Good fit in band and cups. Maybe the band could be a tiny bit smaller and the cups a bit bigger. But I won't complain, 36H is as good as it gets. Very comfortable and supportive. Uplifted round shape. I have worn this bra a lot since I got it. I love it! It's my favorite everyday bra now. I mostly wear it at home, don't do any exercise in it. What I like is that it gives me a round shape under t-shirt and looks like a wear a regular bra, so I can also go out with it. Could not get the gore to tack though. Don't know if it is supposed to.
38H pink
Too big in band. Not very supportive. The straps didn't adjust short enough.
What I noticed: I couldn't get the gore to tack in any of these sizes. I don't really know if the gore is supposed to tack on these bras at all?
All in all I'm so glad, I gave these bras a try despite being sized out! I think about getting another 36H now! I think it will be the pink one, I found that one on sale with free shipping!

Gore doesn't tack on me in a too big size, and I have splayed breasts. I think you'd have to be in way too small band with a way too big cup for that to happen in a smaller size (like normally if you're a 32C and decide to get a 28F).

I'm trying to add a swim top to the site which is not sized in bra sizes. I've seem items on here with non bra sized sizes so I'm wondering if I need Jj to do some kind of manual override for it?

This is tricky.
In order for the site to know how to validate any size entered, we have to indicate what are the rules for each model.
We've gone through most of the brands/models on the site to do the validation. The problem is with new brands that the user enters, right now they use default band/cup sizing which won't let you add the other sizing.
Best bet, is to tell us the brand and size, on this cases pictures of the label are extremely useful.
It's a George swim top from Wal Mart, size XL, if that helps any.
Ordered the beautiful Curvy Kate Carmen Padded Balcony Bra (SG2201) in my regular size (28F) without having any measurements to go on. Looks like I need to downsize, but Brastop doesn't have it in stock in a 28E and I'm not sure the 28DD wouldn't be too small. Sad day.

I'm sorry. I do not know who this bra would fit, to be honest. Its list of reviews on this site is like a comedy of errors. It seems to fit nobody, regardless of size.
wendybien It's fairly close on me. It's just too big. Plus it's so gosh darn pretty. I'd be willing to sacrifice a *little* fit. But not go swimming in the cups.

I finished my first bra alteration! I shortened the band on my 42H - Cacique » Smooth Balconette (36851) to about 32". I need an extender with it, as I expected when measuring and pinning. It feels pretty good. The gore still doesn't tack, but the other fit issues were fixed.

It's fun huh? Congratulations!
Has anyone ever used a halfcup bra as a strapless? Like just tucking the straps into the cups or something?
I've got a halterneck dress and no strapless bras None of my bras have straps that go with the dress/don't look like grandma straps.
I'm thinking of trying my 30GG - Tutti Rouge » ... Betty Bra (TU103) with the straps tucked in... I mean they don't do jack anyway - they're too long. Any suggestions for keeping them from flopping out of the dress?
On a side note, I can put in an obscene number of push up pads into the Betty's cups (two per boob!) to make FAB cakes on plate cleavage

You could just cut them off if you're not going to use them.
Do what Jillsas said. Or try using bobby pins? Or is that a crazy idea? :P

In seamed bras, I have a problem because I have somewhat soft breast tissue and fairly pointy breasts without much projection. So I get what I believe is called in cup quadboob, I remember seeing a solution for this around the internet over a year ago, so anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand, are you talking about when the seam makes a visible indentation in the shape of the breast?
If so, it's not due to the shape of your breasts in most cases--it's because the seam is too tight and/or the cup construction isn't great. If it's the seam, you can stretch it a little as indicated here:
http://www.investinyourchest.co.uk/cleo-meg-bra-review
Info is in a comment by a user named Mariah: "It is possible to stretch the seam of the bra a bit when it is wet, this helps with the rigid seam. Quite a lot of women had this issue with the Marcie, a too tight stitching tension in the seam between the upper and lower cup caused in-cup-quadboob on them. Stretching the seam helped in many cases."
Thanks, that's exactly what I was talking about. I couldn't remember the exact process.
I have this problem in a lot of three part bras because of how my breasts are, even in well-made ones.

For those of you unaware, Ewa Bien and Comexim are on Amazon. For those of you who are intimidated by ordering from a Polish site, it's entirely possible to find these on Amazon.
Note, Comexim is still through Wellfitting but on Amazon.

You guys really aren't helping my bra addiction. :-P
I "can't" buy any more until I finish losing weight, but it's definitely going in my wish list
Noooooo! I had NO idea! How cool!
So I'm just going to talk about one issue I have with buying clothes to fit my bust online (especially dresses that are actually affordable because I'm a grad student who needs to look nice for interviews). Clothing manufacturers make clothes for pear shaped women. Every single clothing manufacturer has the hips big, waist tiny, and bust smaller than the ... hips (in varying degrees, some are drastic and some are not). I honestly love a lot of vintage clothing but I'd have to either get it big and alter it, or get it small and stuff myself into it. I know that pear shapes outweigh other body shapes (although apple seems to be fairly common also) but there are so many girls who are hourglass in this world that it's crazy! Considering that this is supposed to be the ideal female body shape, I'm actually surprised more manufacturer's don't make clothes to fit this shape (again, at an affordable price and paying $80 for a casual dress is not affordable). But, being large chested, I can honestly admit that I'm more of an upside down triangle...my bust measures between 43 (standing measurement average)-46 (leaning measurement average) depending on the day/bra and my hips measure 41 inches pretty much all the time (so close to balanced but not quite). Because of this, I have to find pants that aren't skin tight on my thighs but small everywhere else (my mom is a straight hourglass and she deals with this all the time too). Old Navy is a help somewhat in that their shirts tend to be made a little big and they cater pants-somewhat-to body shape (I can literally wear a S or M in most of their dresses if they have stretch to them but I'm a pretty solid 10/12 in pants and 14 in dresses/blazers).
I guess I should invest in a sewing machine and then teach myself to sew but it'd be nice to be able to go into a store, find something I like (especially a bathing suit that says it's a XXL and the cups actually represent the XXL), and be able to try it on, it fit somewhat nicely without having to alter it in some way in order for it to actually look half way decent. If I was talented enough, I'd blow all manufacturer's out of the park by crafting clothes to fit women by body shape and offer a wide variety of sizes at affordable prices but at this point all I have is a dream of my own bra shop that could hopefully one day spread across the US.

i want to know where youre shopping that has so many great pear clothes :P i can never get a dress large enough in the hips and small enough in the bust, or a swimsuit for that matter! my dresses always seem to want for a lady with a chest 3 times mine D=
i hear your plight though on hourglassy stuff- ive got quite a few extreme hourglass friends and its miserable for them trying to find an off the rack fit. id say its more than manufactures intend clothes for *slight* hourglass, and anything more than a few inches differnece between bust/waist/hips measurements has to learn to tailor :(
I feel ya girl! I'm a size 14 bust, 12 hips and size 10 waist, and I literally cannot find anything that works well on my body. If it fits in one place, it's either too small or too large in another. I don't know if dresses (top doesn't suffocate me but the rest of me is drowning in fabric) or trousers (if they fit over my hips, there's a 2-inch gap at the waistline - and I'm not even slim) are the worst.
Ah, I miss the good old days a century ago when every item of clothing was tailored to a person's measurements. Better times...

I love the Panache Sport — pretty much the comfiest bra ever and I love the rounded shape it gives. I wear a 30FF/30G in almost all bras, but I get my best fit in the Panache Sport in 32F.
I get really good bounce control from it, but my breasts are quite a bit smaller than yours and the gore tacks on me (it is supposed to tack).
