I just got my Ariza 34J from Zulily in the mail. I only paid $25 for it and it can't be returned. So, it's exactly size I need on the bottom. There's enough room for my projection, but it's snug so I don't know that I could go down a size. But I don't come close to filling out the ... top. Wire height and everything is fine. The gore tacks perfectly. If the cups fit on top, this would be a great fit. So anyway... Would it work to make a fold in the tops of the cups and take them in on top? I'd need to fold both sides in about an inch, but when I do that with my hands, the fit looks great and eliminates east-west issues. Would this be worth doing by hand? I mean, it would be fairly sloppy and everything, but it would be comfortable and really I just need a fitting bra.
I think this is why I've found bra shopping so misleading over the years. Cups that give me the right amount of depth on bottom are HUGE on top. Also, my boobs are short and narrow, but I need tall wires because my boobs are set low. But they're mostly forward projection, which I would not have realized if I hadn't had help from people on here. I'd have kept wearing too small cups. But anyway... Should I try this? I mean, I'm a terrible sewer, but I think I could fashion something sloppy but wearable. Yes, it's a beautiful bra, but I really just need a bra that I can *wear* for now. Off to Nordstrom, but wondered if this is worth doing and easy enough to do? If it works, I could later have it undone and fixed up better by a tailor if I need it to look prettier.
Also, how would I pin this or make lines on it that show me where to sew without poking my boobs with needles? And would sloppy seams just cause the sheer fabric to rip? It seems sturdy, but I'm not sure.
Edit: To be very clear, the sum total of my sewing experience involves messily sewing on buttons. I'm completely inept, but if I can just get it to feel okay and look decent under clothes, I'll be happy for now.
Also exchanging something with a bratabaser for a 32J. Band would be too tight, but maybe with an extender...
