I'm so disappointed to say the cups are so big on this. I often get 30dd or 30e when I can't get a 28e/f but this is way off. The cups are way too wide, which practically never happens to me, as I'm very wide rooted. Beyond wide, the cups just have too much volume. I can't comment on the fit of the sheer vs satin parts because this just does not fit at all. I love the chartreuse color. So sad.
I'm ~ a 28GG-H/30G-GG, projected, pendulous, even and center full, I think tall roots not sure tho
The quality of this bra is rediculously average, considering it cost me over 50€. I still regret that I didn't send it back in time, but I was just mesmerized by how cool it looks and the fact that the unpadded, deep plunge cut suits me so well. It's the only wearable bra for me at the moment but it makes me feel horrible because the cup is slightly to tight and the fabric is so damn scratchy and stiff. *sigh* Also, I have this bra since last month and handwashed ...it carefully a few times but there are already loose threads and the back of the band, where the bra closes is kinda crooked, it gets a little bit more out of shape with every time I wear it. I rarely see this, even in the cheapest bras. (See pictures.)
TL;DR: Not bad, quality dosen't justify price, good fit but cheap, scratchy material.
Little Update: I don't know why I didn't write it in the original review but the wire gives me red marks almost immediatly after putting the bra on and it gets really uncomfortable the longer I wear it. I could be wrong but I read somewhere that Curvy Kate/Scantilly bras have nickel in them and I have a nickel allergy, so that makes sense. I haven't worn this bra in months, surprise surprise. It was sister size but the fitting is great. much better than in real life. you have to see this. it's very sophisticated but gorgeous. it's very typical 3parts-vertical bra by CK
This is a very pretty bra that is perfect to wear on hot days. Unfortunately, I have some issues with the shape of the bra on me. I am not sure if the bra is too big for me and the cups are too small but the gore doesn't tack. The wires are a touch too wide and I have some wrinkling in the cup. I wish that this bra fit me better because if it did, then I would purchase it over and over again. One thing to note, is that even though the wires are too wide on the side for me I have not had ...an issue with this bra slipping out of my IMF, so that is a huge jump in terms of the fit of Curvy Kate bras for their customers with deep breasts.
I really like the strap around the neck and I love the color. I just am not a good fit for this bra. The bra band has stretched out some for me, and I think that it provides decent support, but please take note that if you have a flared rib cage or a V shaped rib cage like me the gore on this bra will possibly hurt. Because my rib cage is broad and most of the fat on it is in my stomach, the gore will stab you if you don't have a lot of padding there. Now that the gore doesn't tack on me at all, I no longer have that problem. Read more 147 more words
A very pretty and luxurious bra I have been sent to review. The overall feel is great and it has been made with great attention to details, but the cups run very large - I'd say a 1 1/2 size big.
Curious, I had read that the other colourways ran small, but mine is red, and I too thought it was at least half a cup big. It is my only unpadded bra, so that could be the issue.
/squints at measurements
8.3 depth, 5.5 cup width...
I usually take a UK 32FF, and I've found that between 5 and 5.5" cups, I need between 10" and 10.5"... :|a
I guess I would expect a 32F to be ~9 inches, so to my expectations an 8" 30FF seems small?
I don't in the least doubt your experiences (and one of the people who calls this bra small is comparing its cups to Empreinte, which is absurdly deep -- their 30F is 30:6 but fits my effectively-30:9 boobs almost perfectly), but I'm still trying to figure out how these numbers correspond to a bra fitting me or being too big/small. It SEEMS like such simple math, and yet........
I agree, an 8.3" cup, depth is usually too small on me, I need 8.9 ish and I typically wear a 30E..
I will re-measure this once I get home, but I am pretty sure I got it right.
Yeah I was going to comment the same thing - 8.3" is pretty small for a 30FF depth.
Like I'm sure the bra feels big anyway, but something doesn't add up :|a if it's not the measurement, maybe it's a shape problem.
Apparently I was part of a minority in finding the cups on 32FF - Pour Moi » Amour Underwired Non Padded Bra (1502) to be small, and when I looked at the numbers there it's definitely a shape problem. My boobs not getting enough projection, hitting the "wall", and quadding out the top without getting to take advantage of the space at the bottom of the cup.
rainbrasspetals this is a very helpful comment tbh, I never thought about it like that.
It was too big on me too! I got a 30dd. I usually wear 30dd or e and this is enormous!
Scantilly All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra 30F Before purchase, I suspected 30F would be my best size in this bra. This turned out to be true. I also predicted the bra itself wouldn’t suit me. This also turned out to be true, but for surprising reasons. (1) Top edges of cups very slightly tilt outward. There is no gapping at the top of the cups. It’s almost as though the lip of each cup is thicker than the rest of the cup. In reality there is only a seam where it’s stitched down, as with all cut-and-sew bras, padded or unpadded. (2) Straps are slightly more wide-set than I prefer in front, as ...in the 30FF, but the cups are lower coverage than the 30FF’s cups, so the point where strap attaches to cup is lower down. As a result, the straps don’t dig in at the front. (3) The profile is very rounded and slightly minimized. It looks very much like a half cup bra’s profile. I had about a dozen half cup bras whose fit and shaping I adored. I had to stop wearing them because the gores were too high and painful. The Scantilly All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra doesn’t create massive cakes-on-a-plate cleavage, the way a half cup bra does. (4) The cups are made of thin foam material cut and sewn in a balconette shape. A sheer black, polka dot fabric overlays the cups. The black fabric is ruched at the bottom of the cups, above the inside third of each underwire. This fabric is very easily snagged. It does, however, help disguise the seams under clothing. (5) The wings are only 3” high, which is a half inch shorter than my Ewa Michalak 3D bras’ wings. This is a serious drawback for me. I have enough side tissue that 4” high wings wouldn’t be amiss. (6) The bra is fairly unobtrustive under clothing. I tried it under my two favorite light colored knit tops. Under the clingier one, my chilled nipples are faintly evident despite the foam cups. Less evident are the diagonal seams of each cup and the top edges of the cups. Under my thinner but less clingy top, the diagonal seams, top edges of the cups, and my nipples are not evident, but you can see the cups are not entirely smooth in the inner third toward the gore, where the overlay fabric is ruched. I believe if you didn’t know the fabric was ruched, however, you wouldn’t notice the texture underneath the top. I should note my nipples, when cold, will make themselves known through any padded bra, at least a little bit. This is a consequence of their being small and centered on forward facing breasts. (7) I compared the visibility of the Scantilly Plunge to my 65F Ewa Michalak Paris Paris 3D bra. Under my clingier, light colored knit top, the lace at the top of the Paris Paris bra’s cups was somewhat evident, but the top edges of the cups were not visible. My nipples and the vertical seams of the Paris Paris were about as visible as nipples and diagonal seams of the Scantilly Plunge. I prefer the Paris Paris bra’s lace being visible over the Scantilly’s top edges being visible. (8) The cups’ coverage in 30F surprised me. I often have two problems when seeking a plunge bra from major UK manufacturers like Panache: cups that cover too much and center gores that aren’t low enough. Masquerade, formerly one of Panache’s lines, a few seasons ago released Ardour, a padded, seamless plunge bra. Ardour would have been incredibly useful if it hadn’t come up so high on my chest. Just because my breasts can fill out a bra doesn’t mean I want to wear that bra when it covers a third of my torso. Scantilly’s All Wrapped Up covers about the same amount as my Ewa Michalak 3Ds in 65F, of which I have about ten. The coverage is as skimpy as I’ve been able to find. On my petite frame, that means the coverage looks like that of a typical balconette bra. I understand my boobs are on the firm side for unaltered breasts. That, combined with my petite frame, perhaps means I can wear skimpier cups than most people. Still, I wish there were more low coverage plunge bras with wings on the high side for people like me. (9) There is a lot of excitement but very little data about Scantilly’s new releases. I ordered the All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra in three sizes to capture the measurements. I wanted to see how it compares to my other bras, all of which are plunges. All Wrapped Up surprised me by having reasonably low coverage cups. However, the snag prone overlay fabric, slightly tilted cup edges, and very low wings persuaded me to return all the three sizes. If I weren’t worried about the long-term behavior of that sheer fabric and the cup edges, I would think a while longer about returning the 30F. For their sake, I hope Scantilly’s next iteration of a plunge bra addresses these issues. If their wings continue to be extremely low, I’ll never keep any of their plunges. (10) I took advantage of the Figleaves Black Friday promotion, which was 25% off sitewide with free shipping. I’ll only be out the cost of return shipping, to an address within the US. I may try to return these in a padded envelope to save money. I highly recommend planning for this promotion, which this year ran for several days, not just on the day after Thanksgiving in the US.
I freakin' love this bra - and this brand. This is my second foray into Scantilly and it won't be my last. If you have narrow roots and very projected breasts with lots of overall fullness (as I do) you will want to go up a cup size in Scantilly. FYI, I don't wear much Curvy Kate but, when I do, I have to size up in the cup in just the same way. Not surprising given that they're made by the same people. Interestingly, in one cup size up (and regular band size), the fit is perfection. Perfect lower projection, centre projection, the gore lies flat, the ...shape is great. I do find the bands perfectly snug - not uncomfortable but they'll hold their shape for a long while, I can tell.
Now, as for style with this bra, the eyelash lace is beautiful. The straps above the upper cups is a smidge loose (not observable but I can tell) but that has to do with root height as much as anything. It's not adjustable so if your roots are very short or you have proportionately little upper cup fullness, the strap detail may be loose. You could always cut them off and the remaining bra would be, perhaps, even more gorgeous (in a totally different way). You could also easily shorten the strap by using a seam ripper on the 2 or three stitches that hold the decorative strap up at the hardware to which it attaches. You could then easily hand stitch a couple of stitches to ensure that the strap is of the correct length for you.
The bra is incredibly comfortable, beautifully made and unique. Highly recommended though the price point is steeper than CK. The quality warrants the price.
Word of warning: For this style, the thong undies fit very large for size. I hate tight thongs and I often wear an XL (though I'm a US size 8 in clothing). I had to return the undies for a size M (though originally I purchased the L). Read more 233 more words
Super sexy, though not sure if I got the right size with this -- it seems to quad a teensy bit, but breast tissue is mostly in line with the cup, just kind of closed at the top. But it works well with a low-cut top.
That said, because of the pleather, it does not breathe, and feels like it's a shell after wearing it for a while. It does feel interesting when taking it off, but this is not a bra to wear comfortably for long periods of time.
I purchased this bra to add to my wardrobe a provocative and lux lingerie but that also offered full support. A very well made bra, cute and sexy with a contemporary and provocative design. It looks good with a great support.
Quad boobing because 30HH wasn't available at the time. Although I think a 32H would fit much nicer. The band is SO FRICKIN TIGHT. I'm wearing an extender in the photos. This is another inconsistency in sizing with CK.
THIS. This bra is the best looking out of all my CKs. Pros: Nice round shape, breast tissue not spilling out, nice cleavage Cons: Still pushing boobs under armpit, band is too big (30HH was not available at the time) Overall, this one is my favortie out of my CKs
This bra gives a cakes on a plate type of look. The front is a little more of a blunt shape that I prefer. The cups are pretty much open enough that quading can be used intentionally.
I feared the texture would be too much to wear it under clothing but it performed ok for me.
Wires are relatively wide, good for me as it enclosed my tissue.
My chief complaint with this bra was that it cut into the front of my arms. The straps are too wide set for me, which is the story of my life with these 3 part verticals. I'm tempted to keep it anyway.
This is well made and quality. It feels sturdy. It's a NICE bra.
I bought this bra on sale because it was cheap and pretty, and it has turned out to be my best fitting bra possibly ever. The fabric is very smooth and soft but sturdy. The design is fun. But most importantly, I feel lifted, supported, and seperated. All of my tissue is out from under my armpit and contained. The gore is a little too tall if I sit slouched for too long, and after some time the band feels a touch tight, but I think once I've worn it more it will stretch and not be an issue. It is also more of a half cup than a balcony bra, with only vertical seams and ending fairly low on the breast.
Waaaay too small in the cup. I'm sad because I love the rose gold details, seaming details, and pleather finish. Bands is comfortable, straps elongate long enough. I would try this again in two cup sizes up.
I bought this bralette on sale for 39€. The original price was 54.45€. When I received it I was disappointed as the quality of the garment seems cheaper than what appears on the website's photos. I usually wear EU75J and bralette definitely aren't for me! I plan to alter the bralette by adding to it some padded & wired cups to gain some uplift. It was my mistake to order a bralette as I need support & then wire to wear a bra... This is why I rated this bralette "Meh" in comfort as nothing hold my breasts. But the appearance is still elegant.
so far this is the best fitted bra ever. it's not 30 band i think, it has actually smaller band size than sex education bra. so, please size up in band the band is firm and tigher than other design
Review attached https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I've since gone up a cup size and I love this style so much that I have replaced this in a 30G, the fit comments all remain the same. Will add measurements for the 30G when I can!
Based on the same shape as Scantilly Unzipped and Curvy Kate Lifestyle, which are two of my favourite bras. The tension on the overbust seam seems to be a little on the tight side, but I am very full/firm so it may be an issue with my shape more than the actual bra. I sit at a true 28GG in most other brands right now, and if this came in a 28 I would prefer that, but the 30G is a perfectly fine fit for me on the middle hooks. I can easily fasten it on the tightest, but it warps the wires a little and pulls them too wide. The backing on the underband does feel a little scratchy on my skin but if this is like any previous Scantilly style it will ease off after a handwash. I love, love, LOVE the detachable chain that comes with it - there are a couple of rings this can be clipped to on the bra itself, as well as on the coordinating items too.
