I freakin' love this bra - and this brand. This is my second foray into Scantilly and it won't be my last. If you have narrow roots and very projected breasts with lots of overall fullness (as I do) you will want to go up a cup size in Scantilly. FYI, I don't wear much Curvy Kate but, when I do, I have to size up in the cup in just the same way. Not surprising given that they're made by the same people. Interestingly, in one cup size up (and regular band size), the fit is perfection. Perfect lower projection, centre projection, the gore lies flat, the ...shape is great. I do find the bands perfectly snug - not uncomfortable but they'll hold their shape for a long while, I can tell.
Now, as for style with this bra, the eyelash lace is beautiful. The straps above the upper cups is a smidge loose (not observable but I can tell) but that has to do with root height as much as anything. It's not adjustable so if your roots are very short or you have proportionately little upper cup fullness, the strap detail may be loose. You could always cut them off and the remaining bra would be, perhaps, even more gorgeous (in a totally different way). You could also easily shorten the strap by using a seam ripper on the 2 or three stitches that hold the decorative strap up at the hardware to which it attaches. You could then easily hand stitch a couple of stitches to ensure that the strap is of the correct length for you.
The bra is incredibly comfortable, beautifully made and unique. Highly recommended though the price point is steeper than CK. The quality warrants the price.
Word of warning: For this style, the thong undies fit very large for size. I hate tight thongs and I often wear an XL (though I'm a US size 8 in clothing). I had to return the undies for a size M (though originally I purchased the L). Read more 233 more words
First off: it's gorgeous! I have it in the red colorway, and this cool red shade looks really good on my fair skin. For some odd reason tags on the back were so scratchy that even trying this bra on was a challenge. Band is really stretchy and runs a little big, so I might need to alter it. Fabric and elastics are kind of flimsy. Cups definitely run big. I used to think Ellace is really projected for the size, and boy, was I wrong! There is a 1 cm difference in the cup depth between these two, the apex on Surrender's placed higher and its cups are in general taller. Thin straps around the cups are laying on the lace because of it. Oh and the top of the gore is itchy because of them. Sadly, something is always wrong with my CK purchases. I've made my Florence and Ellace work so now I'll have to do that for this bra. Why don't they fit me as is? So disappointing.
I don't usually fit Cuvy Kate bras - my boobs are usually the wrong shape for the range: My boobs start at my collarbone, I think they are average on the top, close set, firm and bottom heavy with lots of projection.
I decided to give this a try and size up from my typical size of 32H to a 32HH in this style after trying it in a 34H and finding the band way too large. I seem to be either a 32 band or a 34 band in CK, I find the band sizing very inconsistent compared to other brands. The 32 back is a comfortable fit. Although there is a little wrinkling in the cups it isn't enough to size down in the cup.
The bra feels delicate and sexy but is comfortable enough to wear on a night out. I will be trying more bras from the Scantilly range.

I decided to give this a try and size up from my typical size of 32H to a 34H in this style (a 32 band in CK is usually too tight even though I often fit a 32 Panache band). To my suprise the band is loose - I can do it up on the tightest hooks so I need a 32 back. Although there is a little wrinkling in the cups it isn't enough to size down in the cup. So I think my ideal size would be 32HH assuming the other bands and cup sizes are consistent.
Update: I tried the 32HH & the fit is much better in the band and cup. Some wrinkling in the cup but I think a 32H would be too small.
