I loved the Panache Olivia in 30D I bought last summer, and have really wanted to get another one. I thought that the 30D was a little bit small for me now at my current 30DD size, so I've been waiting for the 30DD to be a good price in a different color. I was so sure this was going to fit that it was quite disappointing to find out that it didn't!
While the band, wires, and bottom of cup fit me perfectly, the problem is the upper cup. Unfortunately, the upper cup of Olivia is cut to be more projected than the Panache bras ...that work well for me, so it wrinkles and I can't fill it. The upper cup gaps even with foam lining inserted. I realized that I had the exact same issues in the Panache Thea I just tried, and sure enough, the measurements confirm that the cups are identical. Thea is for FOT shapes, so Olivia also follows suit, though the stretchy lace fabric helps make the fit a bit more flexible. I didn't have this problem in the 30D because of the stretchy fabric and the fact that the cups are a little small for me. It's interesting that Cleo Hettie and related cuts are all constructed the same way and give me the same problem in the upper cup, but I couldn't fill out the upper cup of Hettie in 30D. Thus, I would say that Olivia is less FOT than Hettie. The wires are a nice gentle C curve and similar to other Panache bras in this size range.
Construction-wise, I love this bra. The band is super firm and feels secure, and even though it measures as a 30, it feels like a snug 28 and is very comfortable for me. The band is solid powermesh with jacquard elastic lace overlay, so it has two layers of stretch, and the bottom band elastic is firm. The upper cup is the same stretch jacquard lace as used on the band, and it's super soft and comfortable. It is very similar to the upper cup lace of the Fantasie Illusion Side Support bra that I also find to be very comfortable, as it also has.a flat-knit stretch edge that really lays flat on the body without any bulk. The bottom cup is made from polka dot mesh lined with super soft tricot, so they feel a little more like the cups on the Cleo Marcie or Curvy Kate Princess bras, rather than the firm and supportive fabric of the Thea. The polka dot design continues onto the straps, which are fully adjustable, and the only decoration is a bow at the center gore.
Cobalt is actually a dark blue better described as "marine blue" rather than the Yves blue the name implies. It's darker and less bright than it looks in the images online. I've decided to reorder this in a 30D in order to have this colorway in my collection, but I really wish I could find the Deep Jade in my size! Read more 419 more words
Colette is an older discontinued style that I've wanted to try for a long time. I managed to find it from one of my regular eBay sellers recently. While 28E is my best size, 30DD is a safe sister size, although I always have the problem with Panache bands running a bit large on me when compared to Cleo 30DD and other brands that I wear (B. Tempt'd by Wacoal, OnGossamer). This style doesn't come in 28 bands, or at least not in 28E, so I went with the sister size.
Luckily, this sister size fits well, though it is true that the band is a ...little large. I found the 3 piece cup to fit very similarly to somewhere between the 28E Cleo Marcie and 28E Cleo Kali. The only thing I felt was a little off about the fit is that the fullest part of the cup is proportioned a little off for me, as the fullest part of the cup hits me a little high. However, this is a minor quibble and overall the fit is pretty spot on if the band were a 28. I can wear it on the tightest hook though, and it stays in place, so it is workable, but definitely not what I would consider a snug band.
The cups are super pretty, made of the same soft mesh as Marcie/Lucy/Kali, but with a large scale all over floral embroidery. The embroidery style reminds me a bit of the Panache Loretta that I tried and ended up returning a few months ago. I think the styling is very delicate and elegant, and makes this bra the more sophisticated version of Marcie. The construction of the band, back, and straps is almost identical to Marcie, though the straps here have a gentle polka dot texture instead of the ribbed elastic on Marcie. I wish I could find it in the Ice Blue colorway as well, but sadly this is pretty difficult to find at this point. Highly recommended if you can find it! Read more 242 more words
I wore this bra a ton when I first moved into my right size, so I rate it high in comfort. The back slides up and there's in-cup quadding for me now; it doesn't hold nearly enough of my larger side.
Thin but strong mesh fabric seems like it would be really durable. It feels light and cool. The multi-part cup construction is good for projected shape but I couldn't feel the seams. I was impressed with how well this bra hides prominent nipples despite the thin fabric. I thought I would be stuck wearing thicker bras forever. If it fit better it would probably be fairly smooth under thicker weight knits but maybe not tee-shirts. Unfortunately the wires on this bra are too wide for me.
This is one of my best fitting bras, but I'm somewhere between a 30E (just too big in the upper part) and 30DD. I am technically all in and there aren't any major fit issues in the 30DD, but I just feel like it's a little tight. Maybe I should try a 32D?? I don't know that I really need all the depth this bra has; most brands don't work for me in 30DD, so I'm guessing that's why this smaller size works (the fact that it's so deep). I love the stretch lace. Panache is just such good quality! Kinda want some other colors besides the bland but undetectable-under-clothes nude color.
Concerning shape I'm still figuring it out but right now I think I'm: Center full, very projected, even full but pendulous so functionally FOB, tall rooted but with comparatively shallow upper volume.
That being said, I found this bra to be much too closed on top for me, giving me some truly spectacular quad-boob. The shape is really projected, but seems to be designed for a lower-rooted bust. The cup cuts off my upper tissue and smooshes the bulk of my breast down and forward, forming a really weird ski-jump kind of shape. It's hilariously awful. This is all a real shame, because it's an absolutely gorgeous bra!
I'm really not sure what I was thinking getting a maternity bra in my pre-pregnancy size. Nonetheless, it was comfortable for much longer than it had any right to be. It started to be painful near the end of my last pregnancy, but considering my size ended up around 30GG/32G, I can hardly blame the bra for that.
This bra is magical. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and measuring 30F at the moment, but this 30DD is still so comfortable. Everything is contained in the cups without any quadding because of the stretchy lace at the tops. Unlike most of the 30Fs I own, the straps actually stay on my shoulders and the cup width matches my root (less than 5 inches!! But it still has decent depth!). It feels very tight, but in a contained, secure way. I keep forgetting I'm even wearing a bra, which is always a good sign.
Cute bra, pointy boobs. I like the material and stretch lace, it is comfortable and not itchy. I don't like the sturdy panache wires. Weirdly enough I'm having center gore issues with the panache Clara, but not with this bra. Maybe because it is more projected? I don't fill the front top of the cups entirely, but the stretch lace closes nicely, so I consider this a fit!
This bra runs true to size for a 30DD in my opinion, and would be best suited for even to FOT shapes. It has stretch lace on the top of the cups, which should allow for some flexibility in size/shape. Unfortunately, being FOB I cannot fill the stretch lace, particularly on the smaller side. So it's off to find a new home https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
first time wearing: It provides less support than I expected/desired. Either I have a strangely long torso or this was not designed well. I wanted this as a strapless option, but the lower portion of the body suit pulls down the cups--see the front picture of the cups. This creates empty space in the bottom of the cup and makes a strange shape.
I feel the band is not sitting where it should. I prefer 28 bands but wear 30s usually with no problem--perhaps if I wore this on tighter hooks, it would stay put (again, the rest of the body might be pulling it down). ... The three column hooks are nice, but hard to fasten alone.
I also feel that the rear end provides less coverage than I had hoped/expected it to, which is why I have included full body pictures. I am glad I did not pay full price for this.
I am glad it came with removeable straps, as I am not sure I can wear this without them. I have pretty average proportions (33-26-34) and this doesn't fit as well as I had hoped.
Overall, this is a cool piece, but it is much less useful than I had hoped it would be.
edit: Try on number two! I fasten it on the tightest hooks and am still struggling with it staying where it should, though it is much better. I do think the body is pulling it down. When I get the band situated (I have to manually pull it up to adjust it to sit there), the cups fit okay. However, then I have to pull the rear coverage down to fit. After that, the cups slide down again. When the cups slide down, the wires are sitting below my inframmary fold, and causes the tops of the cups to cut in. All in all, there are too many fit issues. If I can manage to take the band in significantly, I might be able to wear it on special occasions that would necessitate it. The bottom of the cups are either too shallow, or are just constantly pulled down by the body. I hope with more wears that the body will stretch vertically, which may solve the other issues. But, I'm not sure. Read more 285 more words
This bra fits comfortably around but there's empty space on the inside of the cup near the gore and comes up too high for me. I need demi cups cause I'm so empty on top. Otherwise a good, sturdy, well made bra. Just not perfect for me.
Update: the 30E worked better. The is way too long for me though with both bras and pokes in my sternum.
It fits! This is the first bra that really fits me and it's beautiful! Well, an overlapping / lower gore would have been better, but I'm very very happy with this fit. It really makes my breasts look so much nicer https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The lace of the bra is beautiful and I love the blue/nude color combination. The straps are narrow enough for me and do not dig into my arms, which probably means they are rather narrow. The band is OK, tight ...enough for a 30, although I'd have preferred it a little tighter, but they didn't have this bra in a 28 band. The wires have the perfect width for my breasts, and help them to point forwards and not to the side, even when I lie down https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The lace doesn't feel very smooth and is a little itchy, but I guess that's what you get with lace. The wires are very rigid, similar to the wires of my Cleo Juna bra, which I had to replace with more flexible ones. These wires do not dig into my sternum, but after wearing the bra for a day at work they do annoy me. I might replace them with more flexible ones and will maybe try to overlap the wires at the gore. This black floral colorway seems pretty true to size for a 30DD. Just a touch small for me. The Jasmine measurements make it seem I could wear 30DD or 30E depending on which color.
It is just a touch too small in the bottom of the cup for me. The side panels cut in and flatten my tissue. The top of the cups with the stretch lace is so forgiving though. Can't wait to try a 28F or 30E.
Beautiful sky blue color - not my favorite, but I appreciate it is different. So fresh and springy. I've been looking at this bra forever, and I am surprised the embroidery feels thicker. I alwayd thought it was very light, or just a print!
The 30DD in this Sky color seems pretty true to size - a bit small on me. I prefer 30E bras. I thought it might run large and it was a good deal, so I had to try! The band feels super comfortable for a true to size 30 - not too big or small. Feels like wearing nothing on the loosest hooks, but is supportive!
