My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle.
This review is for the Kimono Violet colorway.
In spite of how much the band stretches, I like the Feathers bra! I have basically decided that, since it becomes affordable during Nordstrom's anniversary sale and on ebay periodically, as long as the Feathers is available, it is worth being a yearly purchase. I will eventually get around to altering my black one (which is now definitely too big), but I am laaaaaazy, and PURPLE.
Pretty bra is pretty! It fits the same as before, with a nice natural shape and edges that really disappear under clothes. It will stretch, I can tell, but I plan on saving this bra for semi-special occasions rather than every day to help it last longer because I love the color so much. And it's comfy! Hooray!
The matching shorts are a size M and since my butt is 40", they fit nicely.
Super comfy. Was surprised this size (32D) fit me, but the band is nice and snug and the cup fits well. I like that it doesn't come up super high on my chest, as I wear sports bras with leotards for dance. Also like that it isn't a t-strap!
Finally tried the notorious Feathers bra! It is far too shallow and wide set for my shape. It's made of a lovely fabric, is super soft and really pretty overall. If it fit I would definitely wear it under see-through tops! I was surprised at how it does not feel very substantial as far as bras go. The band is nice and tight though, so I see why people love it soo much!
I got a screaming deal on it off the clearance rack ($3!!), so I don't even mind! I get to pass that savings on to another woman who will hopefully love it!
Yeah! I could not believe my eyes! I already found a great home for it too: someone who was struggling to afford bras at Nordstroms or even used on here.
This bra is gorgeous and comfortable, delicate lace overlay against a contrasting color.
It is unlined, and seems like it would stretch out easily so I don't wear it everyday.
The decoration would show under thin t-shirts, but it is not as obvious as bras I own in similar styles.
The straps seems to be slightly wider and slightly closer together than the average bra. This works for me because I am petite and often have problems with falling straps even though *for my frame* my shoulders are not narrow.
The cups seem to be a little more shallow and wider than other bras I own in similar ...styles. Because of this, I have a little bit of quad boob if I move certain ways, even though this is the correct size (there is a tiny bit of extra space on the sides and bottom/back of the cups, especially on my smaller boob).
The band is perfect for me in a 30. The center gore rests against my sternum, and it is not too tight. I can forget I am wearing it. Read more 75 more words
Super comfortable! I feel as though the band has stretched a little over time, but I am still able to wear it on the tightest hooks. It makes me feel elegant and just a bit sexy too. No outlines through t-shirts, no matter how thin the fabric. Beware of hangnails or super dry skin as the lovely lace can get a little snagged.
Possibly the most comfortable bra I own, and also the widest wires, which is perfect for me. The cups conform to the shape of my breasts, and because of that, they may even work for breasts that have more projection than mine. Band is very stretchy.
This is a comfortable t-shirt bra. It does not give any oomph or anything. I sometimes feel a little flat in it. It's not a sexy bra, it's a good everyday bra. Every once in awhile it gets a little pokey in the gore area, but that it uncommon. Overall, the fabric and trimmings are soft and feel good against the skin.
This bra fits really well. The cups are shallow and very wide. It may not be the most flattering shape because it pushes the breasts to the sides but I don't mind that. The only problem I have with it is that by the end of the day it wants to slide down a little bit but I often have this problem with partial band bras.
I have bought this bra in every size my boobs have been in the last two years (which has varied from 34A to 32DD due to a combination of starting, then stopping serious athletics and also just not quite knowing how to size myself correctly at the beginning there – probably should have been a 32B at minimum, not a 34A, but I digress). It's comfortable, it looks good, the lace is super pretty and nice, and I like the novelty of the sort of mesh-y overlayer that the lace is on.
My only problems with it: well, one, this one's a 32C, which doesn't fit me anymore. But ...that's not it's fault. When I was a 32C, it fit me great, with one exception: there was always a tiny bit of extra cup at the bottom. It didn't feel like normal empty cup space – i.e., the bra never felt too big – it just seemed like the expectation was for a boob shaped differently from mine. This has been true at every size (of course, if I squeeze into this one now, I don't have this problem, but when I wear my current 32DD one, same problem occurs). I'm referring to it as a "problem" but it really isn't. It looks and feels – if you even notice it at all – like there's a half-cm (or less) of extra "band" above the underwire. Nothing drastic. I LOVE AND MISS THIS BRA... but it doesn't come in small enough a band or big enough a cup. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Tried this and loved it in 30C... but then I got bigger. Tried this one and really didn't like it at all. Seemed way too flimsy or something. The shape is wrong too, it's wide and shallow and also cuts in on the top.
The metal hook strap attachments in the front of the bra dig into the skin causing irritation and a small gap. Otherwise the bra fits well beside the gore.
I had originally put off buying this bra because the pictures make it look very tall. As a petite woman, I look for cup height as well as all the other measurements. I finally decided I needed purple bras, and the feathers one is beautiful. Upon arrival, this bra is very soft, no boning on the sides, molded cup with mesh overlay. The embroidered edge is a very soft lace, and feels lightweight and very forgiving of body parts. The cup height of the molded cup is 5.25", the highest cup I like to wear. I found that this bra is a smidge too shallow for me and I needed to tack the lace to the molded cup in more than one place to firm up the cup and keep my soft boobs from "puddling". All in all, this bra fits and the minor alterations are not an inconvenience for me. It's going in the "fits" section and I'll be looking for more of these later.
The entire bra does not feel supportive for my chest. I could wear this all day without discomfort, probably because it is too big in the band. The bottom of the cup wrinkles.
It surprisingly doesn't show under many shirts, and creates a shape that I find to be flattering. I can even wear it with thin shirts just not superr thin, and even then it mostly only shows on one side (the side that my boob is slightly smaller than) so make sure you have a good fit.
As far as I can tell the durability doesn't seem any less than other bras I have, and the lace band seems a lot sturdier and closer to like hmm, an embroidery texture than other laces I've encountered. But I haven't had the bra for very long so I don't know how accurate my thinking is, haha.
Never the less, I think this bra is so gorgeous and it's the bra I feel most beautiful and sexy wearing out of all the bras I own.
If you decide to get it, I hope you like it as much as I like mine and that it all works out well for you (:
This bra is incredibly comfortable and easily the best fit I've found. It seems to run a little small in the cups and the material of the band strikes me as somewhat delicate, but I have no complaints otherwise. It's lightweight, pretty, and I barely notice that it's there when I wear it.
I love the feel of the fabric on this bra and I love the stretchiness -- I like smooth and stretchy fabrics. Unfortunately, this is definitely not my size. I'm going to try to find this bra in a size that is better for me -- this size causes quad-boob for me, and my cleavage spills out the center of the bra.
You got a Natori Feathers for $3?! Wow.
