I ordered this bra knowing full and well it will not fit: the band will be too big, and quite possibly the cup will be too small. MamaPagan is a terrible influence cause I told myself: It's for bra science! And it's one more bra to add to the database! Is there really any harm in that?!
The real reason I did it was to test out the cut (not so much the size, as the size is all the way off), but not at full price--I found SM Malinowy for dirt cheap on some German online store. It was the last in its size (and one ...of the last in general), so I guess that's why it was on sale. After a lot of back and forth they agreed to ship it to me (ayyyyy) and here we are.
The things I wanted to see with this bra are: is the non-stretch lace a detriment to my asymmetry/soft tissue, and if I need to size up in cup for this cut.
What I learned is... the non stretchy cups actually are not that bad at all. In a cup size up it would be perfect on my larger side, and it would maaaaybe gap slightly on my smaller. Even in a cup too small the difference between the two is barely visible, and the cutting in is not as severe as some other bras I have (khm khm 32FF - Fantasie » Alex Side Support Bra (9152) . So now, I am willing to give the SM bra a try direct from EM store at full price, at least once. Btw this bra gave me a huge confidence boost. Since I realised there's probably a whole cup (if not more) difference between my boobs I've been obsessing over it like a crazy person. I constantly think it's very pronounced (but probably nobody but me notices). The brilliance of this cut is that the top of the cups are not finished with that elastic thingie so many bra manufacturers like to put at the edge of the lace, and the lace is delicate enough that it will not cut into my tissue severely. A slight cutting in... I'll take it!
This cut, in my opinion, gives the best shape out of the three of Ewa cuts I tried. It's perfectly lifted and round. I was worried the cups would be too short, but really, the coverage is about the same as my BMs.
The cups have zero stretch to them. None whatsoever. But they have similar construction as the BMs. The little piece that connects the straps to the cup is a little different but essentially still does its job. Really the whole bra is pretty much the same apart from the fact it's not stretchy at all. For some reason, I feel a lot more... 'contained' even in a too large band (on the tightest hook it works, though). Oh and it only has two rows of hooks, not the 3 BMs have in this size.
Can I just say that this colour is magical? It's a very bright, vibrant raspberry and the detailing is done in equally vibrant orange. So, so beautiful.
So overall, I'd call this experiment a success. Actually this bra is very comfy, I kinda don't wanna take it off. I do think it flattens me out a little bit (square boobs?), but alas, small cup will do that to you. The flatenning is also probably due to the too wide wires, if there's space at the side for my soft tissue, you bet it will fill it! Read more 490 more words
I bought Malionowy for the second time. The first time it was too large in cups, so I got rid of it very quickly. This time, after making sure (with around 15 new bras) that 70E is my perfect size in Ewa, I decided for this fruity piece. It was such a great decision! Ive bought it along with BM Naomi, S Glamour and BM Kleks (the kleks is going back to Ewa as the band is too loose and some strange things are going on with cups on my boobs). The wires are perfectly around my boobs, not leaving mark on them or way behind. I must admit, ...theyre more comfier than in all BMs that I own. The gore is low and does not dig into my sternum. Band is just great. Not too tight, nor too loose. On the second day in a row I could close it on second set of hooks but it wasnt also necessary. Cups are filled quite well but definietly can also hold extra volume (in case on putting on weight or just different times in a month). Theres no much gaping on the smaller side, as the lace beautifully adapt to both breasts and theres no wrinkling like I do get in Mgielka. The shape is more pointy than in Mgielka and Ja Wiem, or BM/SF styles, but under thicker jumper its not noticeable. Straps... Surprisingly theyre not bad! While I suffer in 90% of Ewa's bras this one is nothing like that! Theyre also narrower than in some of my BMs (im looking at you Naomi! Naomi made my skin to suffer on the first day and still isnt perfect :/ ).
I am very pleased with this bra. Its my second best SM (just after Ja wiem, that probably cant be beaten by any other SM bra !). I love it for the fit, that is comfortable and the summery design! I can honestly recommend it. Read more 219 more words
After Ive tried 70E - Ewa Michalak » S Paris Paris (625) I was hoping that finally 70E in SM cut would work on me.. Unfortunately still it doesnt!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Aesthitecaly the bra is lovely fruity pink like a raspberry! The wires are perfect, exactly go around my breasts, they dont dig into my chest and are very comfortable. The lace is soft, see through but not really stretchy comparing to my BMs. However the shape actually is not the best Ive ever got from soft bras - definietly I prefer BM. Unfortunately the cups are too large.. on ...the bigger breasts is only 1/2 size but on the smaller is full size, and it doesnt look nicely when the bra is on - even if it doesnt showe under clothes, it is too much because even my days before period wont help with that. Straps are not bad but are bit too wide, also theyre fully adjustable in lighter shade of pink that the band is made of. The band is perfect, snug but not tight made of two layers of fabric with small bows on the bottom of the wing. Overall Id purchase this bra if 70DD would exists https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I could try 65F but then it would be definietly too tight and straps would be even wider on me - so goodbye Malinowy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Read more 139 more words
This is my second SM bra, my first being Czarna Mgielka. The fit feels pretty similar, the only difference I can tell is that the lace in Malinowy is a little more textured (though it doesn't show through fairly clingy shirts, the seams are inside the cup like Czarna Mgielka). In other words, super comfortable for my short and narrow rooted, FOT, center full boobs. The gore overlaps slightly at the top. The different parts of the bra are all slightly different colors (pictures to come), with the straps a lighter pink, the cup fabric a bright raspberry, the band fabric a deep raspberry, etc. All together it's a very fun, cute look, especially with the orange bows at gore, straps, and on the side of the band.
This is a great shade of pink lace and the straps are super comfy!! Somewhere along the last year I got my size mixed up so I went up in the cup and band in my search and ended up with a couple great bras that needed cup reduction to fit, I took in fabric beside the gore in a non permanent alteration and it works great! Fits TTS in cup and band (compared to other Ewa SM bras.). The lace is very thin and still very supportive, I was a little nervous this one would be too flimsy on me (I still remember the unmitigated disaster that was the SM Frappe), but it's really great.
I love the color, it's like a big bowl of raspberry sorbet.
I'm not sure that Ewa bras are for me, or at least the couple I've tried aren't. (Granted, I've only tried two now, but still...) I don't want to order them directly, since they are so expensive, so it's hard to figure out if they are for me or not! Anyways, I bought this from another Bratabase user so I could try out an unpadded Ewa. The bra itself is really cute, and a nice HOT pink color with little orange bow details. I've had a lot of luck with Comexim unpadded bras, but the fit was super odd on me with this Ewa. The wires are narrower than ...I am used to, which is fine, and the band was nice and tight. But the cups are where it went sort of wonky for me. The top of the cups are pretty high, and since there's no elastic to hold the lace to the top of my breasts, there were gaps/wrinkles. It didn't feel like I was going to pop out of the top, though. The other odd part was the bottom: my breasts were so squished on the bottom, it made them have a weird shape. It was like there was TOO much space at the top and not enough at the bottom. I was really hoping this would work for me. Oh well! I will just keep looking. Read more 120 more words
The shape and size here are really good. It's a similar shape to my BM Kleks - even-full, very deep - but less comfortable because it's just a single layer of lace (not mesh-lined). It's a good sexy bra because the nipples are visible.
