Extremely lightweight for my size, completely carried my larger breast and the right side (less volume) wasn't noticeble with the fabric gaping (which there always is, nothing much I can do about it so I suffer ). There was no spillage or quad boob from the larger side (miracle). The band felt snug without being tight, like I was wearing nothing!

The only con I have and the only reason I am not keeping this is it was simply too bouncy for me. I had no support when walking! A first for me.

Right now, I'm between a 32-34 band but this 34 was definitely too loose. I'd recommend choosing the smaller band size if you are between sizes. The cups are extremely closed on top, so not a good choice for upper fullness. I'm FOT and this gave me epic quadboob. I jumped around a little to simulate movement and it almost fell off.

The material is soft and there are small strips of silicone along the upper and lower elastic of the band. There are also mesh side slings in each cup which are not as soft as the rest of the bra.

Overall, I imagine this could work for someone with wider, shallower, and more full on bottom breasts.

  3. Smoothie Moulded Bra (CK2401)

Finally a Curvy Kate I can wear. I do not get along with their unpadded bras. I've tried almost every style on and the shape just doesn't work for me. For reference I can wear 34HH in the unpadded styles. This bra is very comfortable and gives a nice round profile. It also pushes the boobs up. I would say the sizing is pretty accurate. I am very full on top and the 34H fits well which tends to be my size in other brands these days. I would not want a bigger cup (they don't make it anyway) because it would probably gape. The cups are very ... open on top which is probably why it can accommodate a full on top bust. I would say it is less of a plunge and more of a lower balconette. I had a Deco when I was a FF and I always had the problem of spilling out in the middle. Not with this bra. I know the cup depth measurement doesn't seem that deep for an H, but if you are an H cup I suggest you try it. Something about the cut of this bra just fits and I don't get quad boob. Looks great under clothes. That is when I was really sold on it.

    • Hi there, I was wondering if you found the band of the Smoothie to be firm enough, given that it has so much stretch in it. I'm debating between the 32 and 34 band and was just wondering what your experience has been, since I think that our underbust measurements are pretty close - I fluctuate between a 33.5 and a 34.3ish depending on the time of the month. Thanks!

    • I would say go with the 32. My underbust is currently 33in and I can wear this bra on the tightest hook very comfortably. If I were to buy this bra again I would get a 32HH.

    • Thanks so much, that is very helpful! The measurements looked that way as well, but it's nice to have you confirm. :)

    1. Seamed cups, sticky edges for it being strapless. too wide set- shoving my boobs into my armpits a lot. Straps on helps to pull the sides back in, but not sure I could wear strapless.Gore is much too wide and floats. Seems like I'm spilling out the middle and pushing the gore out and down into my sternum, but leaving space in the top and outsides of the cup empty (even trying to push my boobs into place). Tail of spence is fighting with the side of the bra to have one crumple/give, so the side is far too high. Wires also seem far too wide. Painful ... pressure point on outside/bottom of cup. Quality seems high if it would have fit. If I could hide the top/outside gapping, it's probably tolerable for one fancy night, but this isn't anything I'd want on regularly, and isnt a particularly flattering silluette being this squished anyways. The wires are about an inch or more too far into my armpit and at least a fingerwidth away from the roots of by breast on the outside bottom of the cup. Last thought: I wish they didnt put buttons and a bow on a strapless bra. If I were to wear it with anything fancy, that seems like an irritating detail.

Ellace appears to be one of those bras people either love or hate. I fall closer to love, but I understand why some may fall into the hate category. It's beautiful, IMO, and confortable - 2 major plusses in my book - but is bouncy as all get out. The fabrics are soft and smooth and very lightweight ("flimsy" I have heard it called), but that endears it to me. I have always had kind of industrial bras until recently, and I love the delicate airiness of Ellace, especially now in the summer. Plus, it actually has enough and the right kind of projection for me, able to ... lift, but also round. The roundness also charms me. It's not as molded as, say a Cleo bra, but rather swoops gracefully down with a cute upturned nose at the end. At least on me - even, but functionally with short roots and FOB. And the wings are low and the wires don't poke my armpits - yay!!

It bounces. It does. But I love it, and choose to turn a blind eye.

Story time: Amazon had this bra on sale a few months back ($25 I think?) so I ordered my normal 32GG. That cut in on top, but for whatever reason 32H/34GG were both not on sale (I think they were almost 3x the price!) So I took a gamble on 34H, 2 cups up instead of just one. Of course it was too big, but I wanted it to work so bad I did everything I could short of actually taking it apart and recutting it. I took in the gore. I took in the cups, both at the gore and at the apex seam. I might go ... back and unstitch the wires so I can overlap the tips. It isn't perfect, but my hubs likes it (I don't usually buy black lingerie, I prefer colors) and it was darn cheap so I'm calling it a win.

Actual review: This babydoll is too large in the cup for me. It's a little shallow for me at the bottoms, more noticeable on righty but not terrible. The wires are wider than I'd prefer but not painful. I can't tell if they run wider in general or if it's just because the cup is too large. My normal size cut in on top, so I'd say this isn't great for gals with lots of upper fullness or to try sizing up.
Band was comfortable in my usual 32, and in this 34. Not sure about smaller busts, but for larger ladies you'll look downright ridiculous trying to get into this thing. It has to go over your head and you'll need to wriggle to get the small band over your shoulders and larger bust. Not difficult, but not a sexy 'let me slip in to something more comfortable' move.
The cup is completely sheer, with beautiful purple embroidery. A lot of bra companies double the fabric layer once you hit the G/GG barrier so that's really neat. I like the satin border at the bottom of the skirt, the weight of it helps the fabric hang better.
Overall: Pretty, comfortable, sexy, possibly not FOT friendly, not very projected. Worth the bargain price even with all the alterations

I am surprised how much I like the plunge style! I'm nursing so I think I'm going to have my sew crafty hubby convert this one for me!

This is a poor fit for me. The woman in the underwears shop fitted me in it- can't see her logic really!
The band is too long even on the tightest hook and the cups are too far apart for me. The apex of the cups point slightly outward to the sides so when looking down I look like I have corners. The wires wrap around too far under my arms and I tend to fall into the centre of the bra very quickly (which is not a problem I often encounter). It doesn't feel secure or supportive- it's hard to tell how much this is due to the sizing issue and how much is just a feature of the design.
The quality is reasonable, a bit gaudy looking for me though. This is the only Curvy Kate bra I've bought and I've yet to find a style of theirs that fits. Maybe I'll try again with their next season...

  9. Wild Plunge Bra (SG1701)

I got this bra in a swap from littlegirllies, and it's amazing. It's comfortable, pretty, and it fits. I think this could easily become my new favorite bra (although I have 2 Elomis ordered and on the way, so don't hold me to that.)

The only issue I've seen so far, is that even though the bottom of the cup is filled out, it still wrinkles. If I press on the bottom of the cup with my thumb, there's a spot about 3/4" above the underwire in the center of the cup that refuses to budge. Whenever I put pressure on it, it seems to want to fold in rather than fill out. So that seems like a design issue, but definitely not a dealbreaker!

    Amazon Wardrobe Fit:
Curvy Kate Moothie Soul Plunge Tshirt bra , Latte, 34H
notes: very pink inside. Elastic already sort of curves under cup wire? On largest hook it fits pretty good. Elastic straps seem elastic enough that they are almost useless (seriously they have no resistance to being stretched out). Not a huge fan of the pink hardware on the straps for shortening. (J hook is tan though?). Cups wise- My roots are kinda short for the straps, and Im a little center-full, but that's not abnormal for any bra's so far. Im unsure if the gore is too wide, or just at my max. The elastic on the ... bottom of the band keeps curling under my chest- similar to the Ewa's. I think I may need either a wider bottom of my gore, or the whole gore may be being pushed together by my boobs being too close set- I cant really tell where the stress on it is coming from. I might be *slightly* too big for these cups, but it's one of the better fit's ive tried? I just sort of think I'm pushing this bra out and down. straps are much better placed than the Ewa. Being super picky on things- it's a little wide in the wires and the gore floats a little. I bulge over the top of the cup toward the middle, but dont fill it at the top by the strap. Not sure if the side height will end up irritating my tail-of-spence or not.
Construction wise the strap elastic seems useless due to it's stretchiness, and the mesh backing and elastic seem a bit towards the cheaper end with the zigzag over elastic how it is, but the cup construction seems really well done.
Overall, I would probably wear this as an everyday bra and be "fine" with it, but I would be looking out for something better. I like it as an option that seems smooth for tighter shirts, but am concerned about all the bright pink for a beige bra. (Id rather get something fun if I dont need to be discreet)

I actually sent this back, then rebought it after needing a smooth beige bra.

Updates: 1 year & 1 month in of owning this. I dont wear tend to wear this as often as some of my other bras. It's really to wide-set and the straps are way too stretchy to be supportive. I mostly wear this on laundry-day or when I actually need something either beige or smooth for under certain clothes that cant have dark stuff or lacey bumps. It's an ok fit, and at least to order another I would have to deal with importing a Polish brand. Overall, I'd rather try something new and keep searching than reorder this, especially now that I have this one for any smooth/beige needs. I hate the straps and should really just get around to replacing them sometime.

    Didn't fit

Gambled and lost on ordering this from the UK (where return international shipping costs seem to be more than what I paid for it) since I've been lucky with some other CK's fitting ok. (I still cant find anything like that High Hope) I suppose this is the difference between their padded plunges and Balconette/Balcony style. Since I'm very projected and probably need to resign myself to only ordering the Polish brands, this fits the normal UK style of being far too shallow and far too wide of a cup for me. Like many other UK bra's I've tried, this seems to be designs far enough apart cups ... that the gore doesn't sit between my breasts because they are too close together. and I spill out in the middle instead of filling out the sides of the cup. Straps were a little far apart for me, but in UK bra's I'm starting to kind of expect that too unless it has a multiway option.
I almost wonder if it's just a shape mismatch or if the cups may run a bit small. Hard for me to tell because I think my apex is 2.5 inches further toward the center while this cup is for someone more normal or East/west separated than me.

A little sad this one didn't fit. It's a cute 3 part constructed cup and feels very quality made, even compared to the CK padded plunge that does fit. There is some nice- almost like a soft lace- detailing at the top of the cup, but it doesn't stick out 3D enough that I could see it under a shirt.

Quality seemed excellent. Comfort is hard to tell with this much of a shape mismatch, but would probably be good on someone it fit. At least it wasnt a mismatch that hurt or stabbed anywhere. Appearance, it's really cute, but with me falling out the middle I couldn't really wear it out and about.

Since it would cost more than to return than it would to throw away, I'm debating using this as my dressmaker's dummy's chest or if I want to sell it on here. (I could get "D" cups to add to her for $15 and not even close to the right shape or volume, so this isn't really a bad price for a bigger cup if I stuff it. I kind of want the right shape and size more than this is though, so I think somebody else may get a shot at this bra.

    34H

    Fits

    First wear fit/review:
In a 34H, assume I will wear a 34H. I consider myself to be projected, close set, and both mostly vertically and horizontally evenly full, except maybe a touch more full in the center horizontally.
Fit seems ok. First thing I notice is that the lace at bottom of band is itchy. Hopefully it settles with wear/washing or it may be taken off. Straps seem a little far apart, but very tolerable with just slightest tightening of straps. Band on loosest setting fits correctly. Cup volume is good except I think I'm a little center full and Im not used to any kind of plunge, so it ... feels like I may fall out the middle. Could just be me being used to full coverage bras. Really like that it's Navy instead of freaking beige, and that its a moulded/padded bra in my size for $25 instead of $75. It is a darker navy than the stock photo appears to me, but also obviously not black. This has a 3 part/seams cup, and the lining is seamed in the same places inside the cup, so I may have lines when I take it off. I get a touch puffy at the top/center of the cup, so I may have been able to go up a cup size, or there may have been gapping in a larger cup and the puffing is from being slightly more close set/center full than the bra is designed. Hard for me to tell and not enough of an issue that I'm going to return it and try for another. Cup shape is also pointier than my natural shape, but gives the projection my shape needs. Gore is perfectly flat and not digging in. This is very similar in general shape and fit to the Elomi Cate on me, same general projection, but a pointer shape on the High Hopes and the Cate didn't make me fell like I'd fall out in the middle (Maybe just due to the fabric wall instead of plunge?).
Under a thin tank top, I can see seam lines and where the bra ends and I start fairly obviously. No actual nipple bump, but a fake nipple bump seems to be made by the odd pointy shape that's slightly off where my actual nipple is (even though I fill the volume, I'm just a rounder shape and this bra is a little east/west compared to me, so it's slightly to the side).
Construction seems ok. It quickly bounced back from being mashed into a shipping bag and crumpled. My biggest concern would be the plastic loops holding the straps in the back.
Jumping/bending: This is not going to ever be a sports bra, its far to jiggly, but I don't bounce out or fall out.
Im not sure if the fake nipple bump, seams, and being a little more E/W while Im more centered are going to be deal breakers or not.
If I keep it, I will try to post an update with thoughts from actually wearing it for a time.
Quality 4 (not sure of those strap rings) /Comfort 4 (worried about falling out the middle) / Appearance 3 (strap lines and making a fake nipple bump)

Two month update: Currently one of my favorite bras. I got over it being a plunge, which I'm not used to. I still wish it didn't create it's own bumps where the seams come together, but I like the fit, support, and level of padding.

year update: I actually bought two more of these. It's still my favorite fitting bra, although if I'm active I occasionally need to adjust as my boobs are a little more close set than the bra's cups and they fall out a little in the center. I did have a wire bust out the center when moving some heavy stuff, and a second had a hook break in the wash- I'm not sure if they were both the couple month old ones or the year old one and a newer one. I wish they were a little more durable, and also more available to buy more.

I appreciate having a bra in this size with so low wires. Having 29.5cm of wire length for 34cm of cup depth is a low ratio. I'm sure there are more short-waisted people who will enjoy wearing it. Unfortunately, for me it doesn't work overall because of the lack of inner fullness. The gore is quite wide and overall this bra is meant more for an east-west look - would work well for people who have a rather splayed shape and who do not have inner fullness. It is also good proof that a plunge bra does not necessarily create cleavage.

    34H

    Fits

My first bra sized swimsuit after being stuck with 2XL halter bikini's with the straps pulled far to tight! This is the full one piece swimsuit in Curvy Kate's Maya line. I was nervous for two reasons, 1. if my boobs and the rest of my sizes -waist, hips, torso height- all would work out in one suit, since the only sizing was the boobs and 2. if the cups would be acceptable for swimming since I'm close set and fear I'd fall out of a plunge-style suit. So far my best fitting bras have been 34H UK and so that's what I ordered.

    Standing Bust: 43
    Underbust: 33
    Belly-button ... level: 41
    Largest around Hips: 45.5

Dry fitting (will update after swimming):

    Butt/Hips
Currently I wear a US pants size 12. I'm not sure this suit is made for someone as hip-full as I am. I suppose I am like a pear with large boobs as a body shape, or a weird hourglass. When I tried to put this on by stepping through the neck hole, the suit rebelled and I thought I heard a rip, although see nothing, so I stopped and re-evaluated. Im a little conerned about popping a stitch some I ended up stepping though the back with the whole top half of the suit in front of me, and then flipped up the cups and rest of the top half and manovered the straps from in-front of me over my head to rest on my back. A little complicated to get on, but this seems tailored very well to the shape of my body once on. The hip fabric is very stretched over my hips (45.5 inches at the widest point). While it fits me nicely and goes over my butt/stomach great, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone bigger than 45.5 inches at the hip. As a modest person who also burns easily, I was happy to find that the but of the swimsuit actually covered my butt- almost the same lines as my underwear (low rise briefs from Fruit of the Loom). I was apprehensive about the ladder cut-outs in front, but they don't seem to show any lumps and bumps in stomach fat, and only have a slight shadow where I have a wrinkle in my stomach fat where my pants band normally sits. (sorry that's weirdly written, not normally something I describe). Honestly this part of the suit feels and fits like really great shapewear, but not to tight. I normally hate swimsuits because one pieces seem frumpy and and I feel vulnerable showing off my naked out-of-shape stomach. This really makes me feel like a pin-up 50's model without screaming that message with polka dots and hair curls. I feel fashionable instead of frumpy or embarrassed, it's really great.

    Middle/Torso
I'm not sure if my hips stole some fabric that was supposed to be for the middle of the torso or if my torso is taller than this suit wants it to be. I'm 5'3" but what little height I have is slightly more in my torso than legs. Even trying to manipulate the stretch in the fabric, the wire for the cups stayed about a third of an inch below my IMF.
Just as I hoped, this swimsuit, when worn with the straps as an X, sort of push in the outer edge enough that the volume fits perfectly with no center puffing issue. Taller ladies may not be able to make this work for them, unless my hips stole the fabric that could be stretched into height, but tall and equally curvy ladies are probably out of luck. There is a band of royal blue that goes around the middle like a belt. A sewer may be able to take this out and put in a wider band for more height (my back-up plan if this doesn't work out unaltered for swimming). As it is, this again makes me think of shapewear in how it made my body look, but without feeling tight or squished. Even my little bit of back-fat was all hidden.

    Bra Parts
The wire sitting 1/3 of an inch below my IMF is odd feeling, but not uncomfortably so, and I'm hopeful it will just mean I can swim without risking any wires pinching me. Luckily my boobs tend to fill up volume however they can, so the lower wires weren't a huge problem. It's an issue that I wouldn't accept in a daily bra but I think can pass in a swimsuit that's only worn occasionally.
The band fits me perfectly when dry, so I'm a little worried about what it will do when wet since I measure as a large 34/small 36 band and I really dont want it to stretch out more.
The padding on the cup shows no nipple.
To compare the cups of the suit, the only Curvy Kate bra I've ever tried on is the Curvy Kate High Hope in 34H, and that fits me well enough, however I puff out of the cups toward the center (either due to slightly center-full or just close-set), while my roots seem to be slightly short for the bra and make a small gap just where the cup attaches to the strap. I assumed this suit would have similar cups and I was hoping the adjustable straps on this would allow me to adjust for any center-puffiness, but that didn't appear in this suit's cups. (I figured the X straps would pull in the cup where there was a little gapping near the strap attachment and then there'd be more volume so my tissue didnt puff out near the center) Without any real fiddling the cups fit really great volume-wise, although I dont know if that's because the wire is sitting low and made things move around. The plunge-style really made me worried about falling out towards the middle when active, but with some bending and fake swimming and generally bending and bouncing around, things seemed to mostly stay in place. At most there'd be a subtle readjustment, but nothing seems likely to pop out. I dont have as much of a projected shape as I do in the Elomi bra's like Cate or Amelia, but I'm not squished flat either like I would be in a shallow fitting bra, so this is probably an average-to-projected shape.
I only have tried this on with the straps in an X so far, the strap hooks dont really want to let the straps go, which is great for swimming but not great for trying all the ways of wearing it. As an X, I have to max out the strap length for them to not dig in to me.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the suit. I wish there was a little more height in the torso so the bra band and cups would sit a touch higher, but it's a tolerable issue for me in a swimsuit and loads better than general-sizing suits for my body/shape. I have not felt like I looked this good or felt as confident in a swimsuit since puberty- not to brag, just to emphasize how shitty everything else fitted, looked, and felt.

    After swimming:
while it's a little annoying to have to adjust/pull up the band to wear it should go since the suit wants it half an inch low, it seems to stay adjusted while Im wearing it. I wore it i think 4 times for about a half day each and it was very comfortable. It was comfortable to walk around in when I was doing things before swimming, and it was also comfortable when I was on a FlowRider machine learning how to boogieboard (I had a rashgaurd on in case of slipping out but I never did). My boobs didnt float out the top like I was worried about when lounging in the pool/hot tubs.
My biggest complaint is that the strap where it was sewed to the outer cup started splitting. I think the thread must've broke or something, because it seems like the stitching is just coming undone more than any tear. I only noticed when I was going to put it on the late time. I was fairly active with boogieboarding, but I had a rashgaurd covering the suit, so Im a little surprised that the construction didn't hold up better.
I still feel amazing wearing the suit. This is one of the first garments of any kind I've owned in a long time that made me feel curvy and pretty instead of fat and frumpy. Usually what fits over my boobs is either over-sexy or frumpy and I absolutely love that this made me feel fashionable but modest. I'm definitely sewing up the strap and continuing to use this as my go-to suit.

This review is for the black colorway.

This bra is not happy with my inner fullness or my close-set ness. I have quadding and wrinkling and gore tilting and sad upside-down 7 shaping all rolled into one. The wires are too wide for me, the cups are trying too hard to separate my breasts, and this is just all around a bummer. The bottom of the cup is decently roomy, at least.

The fabric is very soft, and nicely sheer, which is rare in a soft plunge in this size (coughcoughFreya). The metal circle accents on the gore and straps are really cheap and flimsy feeling though, I do appreciate something besides bows though.

This is for the Latte colorway.

This is by far the best Curvy Kate I've ever tried (I've tried a lot, and they've all been varying degrees of abysmal on me).

The cups are very deep. I'm actually struggling to fill them - the stretch lace isn't really being pulled taut at all, even on my larger side.

The gore is wide, and distorts easily - fastening the band causes it to tilt to one side. It's not uncomfortable, and I'm super close set so high gores never lay flat on me anyway, but this feels sort of flimsy/cheaply designed.

The material is very soft. Combined with the deep cups, I'm getting ... essentially no lift in this bra. The shape is fairly round on my larger side, but my breasts are low set, so it's not all that flattering. Despite the fact that I measure around a 34HH, I'm going to try this in a cup size down and see what happens. I'm hoping less depth and filling up the upper cup more will result in a better shape.

The bra is very comfy. The wires are narrow, and not nearly as firm as Panache. The bottom elastic is quite thick, and so it fits firmer.

Probably the main reason I am reordering this bra is the color. The Latte is a few shades darker than the typical 'nude/beige' that most bra companies offer, and while it's not a great match, it's probably the closest I've gotten yet to finding a 'nude' bra for my skin color.

This is the best fitting bra I own. The straps stay up. I can wear it for several hours without it getting uncomfortable. It almost has enough projection for my very pendulous boobs.
