I get cleavage in this bra! Cleavage! I thought I was so shallow that cleavage was impossible. But no, this bra teases out what little cleavage I can achieve. Amazing. The tighter I pull the straps, the more cleavage (of the cakes-on-a-plate variety) I get. But of course, that's not comfortable to wear all day, so I don't.

The cups are very shallow on the sides and the bottom, which really pushes my breasts front and center. It's the perfect shape for my breasts, which don't have a lot of fullness there. It's the only bra that's come close to holding my breasts in the shape they take ... when I bend over. I can only imagine what it'll do for someone larger/with more projection than I have. I actually have tiny gaps right at the gore, so most of the volume is near the center/gore half of the cup.

The wires are very soft. They measure a tad narrow for me, but they stretch at the slightest tension, so practically the wires are on the wide side. My sternum curves outward from my underbust a bit, and usually I find that I need to bend gores away from me. Not so with this bra. It actually curves with my body. It does put a bit of pressure on my sternum, and it gets noticeable and slightly itchy after a while, but for the most part it's very comfortable. Technically, the gore is sitting on breast tissue, as I'm that close-set, but I'm shallow enough that it generally doesn't bother me.

The band, when new, was quite true to size, and very firm to boot. I found the loosest hook to be firmly comfortable around my 27" underbust. After the second wear, it's already starting to ride up a bit more than is normal but not enough that I'm moving to the second hook already. I'm very glad that this bra doesn't seem to have the stretchy band of its sister brand Freya.

The straps are very soft underneath, very plush. I love them. They're fully adjustable, which allows me to create as much cleavage as I want.

Seriously, this bra is so comfortable.

The cups have two vertical seams, so it's appropriate for shallow, wide, tall, FOT breasts. The lining itself is peppermint green. Everything else is brown. The band, straps, embroidery, and the mesh that covers the front of the bra are all brown. The lining is slightly shiny, but the mesh really kicks it up and makes it look very shiny. It also makes it very hard to photograph accurately. It looks slightly different depending on lighting too. I've adjusted the photos to best match the colors I see. I'm a little sad that the bra isn't actually pale peridot with black embroidery as it looks in official pictures. I like warm greens rather than cool greens, but the bra is still very pretty. Each bow (at the straps and the gore) is actually two bows- a larger brown bow and a thinner green bow in the center of the brown bow. The green bow at the gore has two little clear beads at the end.

The embroidery on this bra and the seams mean that it does show through thin and tight shirts. Ironically, this is more of a concern with my winter clothing than my summer clothing (I like loose, unisex t-shirts). It's too bad that this bra has been discontinued for so long. I might have picked it up in red as well. As it is, now I want all the Fauve half cups.

First off, this Bethany half-cup is not "Padded" like the description on Bratabase says. It is very lightly lined IMO.

I wish this bra was made in a 28" band, because I have to wear it on the tightest hook to feel really comfortable. However, I really like this bra. It has a medium-height gore that doesn't dig in and provides lift even on my small-ish boobs. The design is cute and doesn't show through most clothes. I wish I could find the matching underwear in pistachio green, but I haven't had any luck so far.

This bra is for you if you have wide, separate breasts that are fairly shallow.

Edit: After owning this bra for awhile, I feel the wires are a bit too wide and the bra shifts around on my frame a bit when worn all day. I think it would be better for those who are true 30-bands.

Not a good fit for breasts without a lot of top fullness and projection. I'm not keeping it.

I originally tried a 32D, but the cups were way too deep. Since a 32C wasn't available, I tried a 30D. Strangely, it seemed to fix exactly the same as the 32D. There is a lot of gapping all across the top. The cups feel more like a shelf than a cup.

The bra is really pretty, though it feels a little cheap. The band fit is comparable to other 32D bras I own in various brands and styles. The straps have a moderate amount of adjustment, though may not work well if you're tall or have lower set breasts since I'm close to the end of the adjustable range. Also, the decorative "fringe" on the straps makes it hard to adjust.

Highly wanted this bra to fit, it’s so girly and princessy! It’s a total miss for me, I like where my breast are positioned in the cups BUT, it’s gapping EVERYWHERE as if the cups where WAY larger than I need, I’m fairly certain this is in part due to having 0 outer fullness. Cups are also very low, as in the edge of my nipple (Areola) peeks out, and if I pinch the fabric where outer gaping is, thus also making cup volume less, and rescoop my nipples are out of cups. I could see this being a wonderful fit for someone FOB and more even fullness left to right. Would also recommend sister sizing down for better band fit.

This bra would be better for someone shallow. I however have way to much immediate projection so get large amounts of gaping at top from my boobs pushing the bra away at the bottom. I also tried a sister size up so that may have exacerbated the problem. I would love it so much if it wasn't a shape mishmash. The lace, the soft and smooth inner fabric, and the overall elegance of the look make it a lovely everyday bra. It just won't be my everyday bra. :/

How I wish this bra fit me! The satin is buttery-smooth, the lace is soft, the straps are perfectly positioned (for me) and fully adjustable, the gore doesn't poke and the band is stretchy (as Eveden bands usually are) but fits true-to-size. The satiny fabric is firm and has no stretch at all, which makes it nicely supportive but also more prone to causing quad-boob if the cups aren't a perfect fit.

And oh, the detailing! This bra is just gorgeous. The Moonstone colorway has cups in a pale blue-green satiny fabric, decorated with rose-pattern lace and embroidery in cream and forest green. It ... has double-bow decorations on the gore and where the straps attach to the cups, and the embroidery continues for about 3" up the straps. The decoration is soft and not scratchy. There are even little crystal accents on the gore bow. It's almost too beautiful to cover up with clothes.

Sadly, it's at least one cup size too small for me. I ordered it with my fingers crossed, as it's long-discontinued and both 30DD and 30E were out of stock, but the bra gods were not on my side. I'm tempted to hide it away in my bra drawer, in case I ever lose that 10 pounds I keep complaining about and can fit into a 30D again, but this beauty deserves better than that. It should go to someone who can wear it and love it, so I'll be listing it for exchange.

    My new favorite bra!

I'm so glad I held out for the blue colorway. The silver metallic threads really bring out the best in the blue. It's so pretty.

The cups are shallow and fairly true to size. The sides and bottom are fairly shallow, but not nearly as shallow as the Fauve Celine Padded Half Cup (0111) . It's pretty open on top, so it's great for FOT and tall roots. The wires are soft, so they're functionally wide despite their narrow measurements. The soft wires also make the gore comfortable rather than painful.

The straps are fully adjustable. They are very firm. I normally require fully ... adjustable straps because the buckle usually ends up above my shoulder blades, but my buckle placement in this bra is below the shoulder blade and the straps are still very tight at that setting. I love it. Stretchy and tight are my preference. The ruching on the straps does make it pretty difficult to adjust the straps, but you'll never have to worry about sliding buckles.

The band runs large, as is typically Fauve. The band is quite firm when new, but the unstretched band is just under my snug, which makes it intolerably big. I found that I couldn't just sew elastic over the band, so I folded over a bit of the band at the hooks. This shortened the band stretch to about 28 inches, which is perfect.

The cups fit me really well. There's no gaping anywhere, and there's even some lift. The gore is a tad too wide for my close set breasts, but that's pretty normal for bras in this size range. The cups have a pretty front-and-center look, but it's not very in your face.

The lining on the cups is soft and silky to the touch. It's not an especially firmly shaped cup.

The straps, I think, are what tip me over into favoring this bra over the Fauve Mia Padded Half Cup Bra (0121) , even if both fit me very well. But the Mia only has partially adjustable straps, and I greatly prefer stretchy, fully adjustable straps.

My first impression of this bra was that it didn't quite glow the way the official pictures look. The discrepancy is likely due to the mesh overlay that Fauve puts on all of its bras. It distorts the colors, especially if it's a black mesh over colored lining. This is still a pretty bra, it just wasn't pretty in the way I was expecting.

The lining itself is a skin tone kind of beige, and I think I expected a brighter, more golden color. It's not bad, I just needed to adjust my expectations. I wonder if they were going for a pseudo-unlined look.

The cups are about average ... width and depth, I think. It feels true to size, even with my shape mismatch. Like other Fauve halfcups, it's got a rather front and center look- shallow on the sides and bottom. The Isla is the most closed on top of all the Fauve halfcups I've tried so far- so much that I don't actually get any gaping, though there is empty space at the top of the cup. It cuts into my tall roots without any quadboob. Like the Fauve Lavinia, this is probably due to the lace cutting across the tops of the cups. This bra is probably more fitting for average height roots.

The band on this bra is loose- typical Fauve. The 30 band is more like a 32. The band elastics are on the thinner side- 3/8 inches rather than half an inch.

The straps are strange. I originally thought that it was two pieces of elastic stitched together. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it was all one long elastic, but there was some mesh sewn on top in the front half. This makes the straps functionally partially adjustable, since the stitches prevent the buckle from traveling any further higher. It's possible to push the buckle past the stitches, so the straps can be fully adjustable. A good thing too, since in its partially adjustable mode, the straps do not adjust short enough.

The wires in this bra are hard. Unfortunate for me, since that means the cups actually are too narrow and that the gore is uncomfortable. The bra is wearable after I bent the wires and the gore out.

The embroidery on the bra is very smooth and not a problem under shirts. The lining is silky smooth, as it typical of Fauve halfcups. The lining is pretty creased on mine, due to how it was stored/shipped. I don't have the projection to smooth it out entirely. Maybe it'll go away after washing, but this isn't too likely if my other Fauve halfcups are any indication.

All in all, knowing what I do now, I probably could have passed on this cup for now. But I have it, and I'm not inclined to sell it, so I'll make it work for me.

Green and black (and silver) are my colors. But this combination is pretty rare to find in bras, so when I do, I am all over it. The Lavinia is a beautiful green and black bra. It also doesn't fit me. *cries*

Probably the most disappointing thing about this bra are its wires. They're hard. Which means that the narrow wires are truly narrow and that the gore will stab me in the chest. All the Fauves I bought before this one had soft wires, so this was rather unpleasant to find.

The cups are also super projected. They run big, in my opinion, because the wires aren't super ... narrow, so it just wants way more volume than I have. The cups are also a little closed on top. They're still quite open, but the lace across the top brings the top edges of the cups in ever so slightly. I think the shape of the cups is typical Fauve half cup- front and center- but since the cups are laughably big on me, it's hard to tell.

The gore isn't very high (about typical for halfcups in this size range), but the hard wires means that it pokes me in the sternum. I bent the wires out to a more comfortable width and bent the gore out. It's now tolerable to wear, but the cups are still a problem.

The straps are...odd. Not very wide at 3/16", but the entirety of the strap is stretchy. It is not, however, fully adjustable. The front half of the strap is covered with lace, so the buckle can't adjust past that point. While I appreciate that the entire strap is stretchy, the straps just barely adjust short enough to fit. It should be an easy fix though- just remove some (or all) of the lace, and boom! More room to adjust.

The band is typical Fauve stretchy, but it does feel decently comfortable on the tightest hook, so it does a little better than other Fauves. Though this might to be due to the hard, narrow wires.

The green lining is a gorgeous spring green. The front takes on a slightly blue tinge in certain lights. The embroidery is pretty smooth, so that the vertical seams are the main issue (not much, really) under shirts. The bow in the center unobtrusive, as are the bows on the straps. I don't find the lace itchy, but if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff, it might be a problem.

I'm going to try sewing darts in the cups at the gore to reduce cup depth. I'll update this review on how it works out.

    30D

    Didn't fit

Unfortunately, the band on this bra runs large. Which is really bad news for my 27" underbust.

The Mia is a single vertical seam half cup/plunge hybrid. The cups are wide, shallow, and very open on top. The straps are not fully adjustable and also not too difficult to adjust, despite the edge decorations. The gore is quite low, and the cup separation is about average.

The gore also boasts the biggest bow I've ever seen on a bra. It's three inches long. It's pretty, but honestly the length is rather ridiculous. It doesn't get in the way though, nor is it uncomfortable.

The wings on the bra are very ... high. They aren't uncomfortable, but I think overall I prefer lower wings.

The padding on the cups is quite stiff and holds its shape rather well. It's pretty shallow on the outside, but the high wings shouldn't have any problems holding breast tissue in. It's not necessary for me, as I have very little outer fullness.

The cups fit me pretty well. They're almost perfect, but there's a tiny bit of gaping on my right breast, which is slightly smaller. Unforunately, I don't get any lift in this bra. I was hoping for a repeat of my 30D - Fauve » Celine Padded Half Cup (0111) . Too bad.

The straps are pretty soft and decently stretchy. They do adjust short enough for me, but only just barely. I'd prefer fully adjustable straps, but this is acceptable. Strap width is about average for a half cup in this size range.

Other details: the lace embroidery on the cups looks flowery. The hooks are the wide kind at 3/4" apart. This bra doesn't feel especially plushy, but it's well made and quite comfortable, not at all scratchy.

Really, it's a shame about that band. Even on the tightest hooks, it rides up in the back. I'd be wearing it already if I didn't need to alter it first. I really like this bra.

Update: I sewed some elastic onto the band, and wow, I do get a bit of lift in the cups! Interestingly, I almost get quadboob/fall out of the cups when I bend over. It doesn't happen when I stand up, because my breasts take a different shape when I bend over versus when I'm standing up straight. Now that the band fits, this bra is a great fit for me.

  11. Chloe Vertical Seam Bra (0311)

    Didn't fit

Oh, what a disappointment. The Chloe is a sister cut to the Freya Starlet Vertical Seam Bra (1061) , but it has deeper cups and doesn't fit my shallow breasts very well. It seems to expect more upper projection than I have. It's quite open on top and the top edge of the cup lies flat against me. Right below that, though, is sad empty cup.

The sides of the cup are very shallow, and actually leave a bit of an odd dent in my breasts that clearly delineates where the tension in the cup ends from being held up by the straps. I wonder if ... this isn't due to poor scaling or just the pitfalls of an unlined bra on shallow breasts. It does seem to have a lot of projection near the gore, so I would say that this bra aims to have breasts pushed front and center like other Fauve half cups. Unfortunately, it seems better suited to tall, even breasts that are narrow and projected.

The band runs big, which is not unexpected, but the cups seem to run big too. The wires are narrow, like the other Fauve bras I have. Unlike those, the wires on the Chloe are hard, and thus are truly actually narrow rather than functionally wide. Unlike the Starlet in its sister size, the wires were not uncomfortable. In fact, even with my close set breasts that mean all gores sit a little on breast tissue, the gore was quite comfortable.

The fabric on the bra is quite nice. The band and straps are quite soft. The cups are made of a non-stretchy mesh overlaid with embroidery. It's much more pleasant than the fabric used in the Starlet. I wasn't sure if my Chloe was electric blue or peacock blue, as it was listed merely as "blue," but the model number on the tag ends with "ele" so I assumed that it was the electric blue. Certainly it's the deepest electric blue I've seen. It's a beautiful shade of blue, so I was glad it wasn't more like the Starlet electric blue, which is much, much brighter.

I've bent the wires out some so that the cup width is around 4.75 inches. It improved the fit minimally, but also made quite clear that this is ultimately a case of shape mismatch.

Update 2: THIS BRA FITS ME! Sort of. For now, it's better than most of my other bras.

I used a seam ripper to remove the hooks and eyes, snipped about 1" of fabric from each side of the band, and sewed the hooks and eyes back on.

I tried it on again and it was magical. I filled the cups completely! The bra pushes everything front and center and has the perfect amount of projection.

The only problem: the cups are a little too wide on me. The wire marks are about 0.5" beyond my boobs on the sides. However, because the cups are technically deeper than my actual boobs, ... they don't flatten me at all, so I am okay with wearing this bra.

Oh, and the foam lining? Yeah, I cut that out. It's summer and I just could not with the extra thick layer. I was also curious about how much forward-ness and projection was coming from the foam, and as it turns out, none of it! This makes me feel even better about this bra. I think it is prettier this way too, the embroidery stands out more.

    .......................................

Update: I have been unhappy with the fit of many of my bras so I pulled this out and tried it on again. If I pull the band tight enough to fit correctly (way beyond any hooks), the cups area actually quite good too. I canceled the listing and plan to chop the band soon.

    ........................................

I bought this bra deeply discounted because it has been discontinued. The original retail was $120! Bratabase had an estimated measurement within my range so I had to try this. Unfortunately it does not fit me and is not returnable so I am looking to sell it.

    Pros:
This bra is beautiful and comfortable. It has no scratchy or pokey bits and feels soft when worn. The embroidery is done with glossy/shiny thread and the deep blue color is contrasted by pinkish taupe details. It is lightly lined with soft, flexible foam and has no push-up style padding.

    Cons:
The only con is that it doesn't fit me! It is about an inch more projected than I need. Boo. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />

    Fit:
This would be a great bra for someone who needs projection near the gore. I would say that it measures as narrowish and projected, true to size. If this came in a 28D I'll bet it would fit me. The band is true to size or maybe a tad loose/stretchy, definitely not a tight 30.

This bra was a very weird fit, it's not a true half cup in my opinion more like an awkward balconette. The wires are also *very* wide. The widest I've ever seen on a bra. This would be a dream come true for some, but not me. I have an average to narrow root, shallow and FoB breasts so this was the perfect storm for creating the strangest boob shape ever.
The same is true for the following other bras:

The lace detailing at the top, while gorgeous, cuts back in too dramatically for my shallow breasts. Because of this and the fact that this is a soft cup bra, the part where the lace is stitched to the rest of the cup wrinkles. This isn't my usual size, so I fasten it on the second hook and the band is perfectly comfortable. The straps are nice as well, soft and fairly wide, as well as fully adjustable. The wires are a little narrow for me, but when the band is fastened at the right size it's not noticeable.

It's a beautiful bra, so I couldn't stop myself from buying it even though I was pretty sure it wouldn't fit me perfectly. I'm planning on altering the seam that wrinkles, and it'll look lovely. It still won't be my best fitting bra, but I'm just enchanted with the look of it.

So, the cups on this are actually fairly deep, but the wire was rather too narrow for me. I removed them after measuring and plan to replace them, which is the only obstacle to this lovely bra fitting me. My measurements and review are based on the original.

I bought this in what I thought is supposed to be my sister size - 30D.

However, the cups were definitely too big. I heard this bra is supposed to be good for shallow breasts? I dunno, it just didn't work for me. I wish it did as the colours are really lovely. The band was also way too big, which as a 26 UB, I expected. I could adjust the band but I'm pretty disappointed the cups didn't fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
