ABOUT THIS BRA This is an unpadded, seamed, half cup, underwire bra. This is the “average coverage” Fantasie Fusion (3090), not the “full coverage, side support” model (3091).
Purchasing: * $40.49 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (not Amazon Wardrobe) * Available only in white and beige.
Band: * One layer of a thick, stretch, opaque knit. * Wing support: seaming. * Continuous band - wires lower than wings. * Back close with 3 columns of hooks. * Hooks are padded.
Straps: * Elastic has lacy edges to help prevent slider from moving. * soft (don't stand up on their own) * full adjust * leotard back
Cups: * 3-seam (4-piece) half-cup * unpadded, flexible underwire * Top edge is unlined, unbanded stretch lace. * ...Lower horizontal panel is constructed of a non-stretch, opaque/sheer striped knit (unlined). * Rest of cup is the same non-stretch opaque/sheer striped knit fused to a non-stretch (solid) opaque knit lining. * Outer edge of cup is elastic that continues to top of band. * Soft cups (no padding or molding).
Fit
About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts * average projection * average-set (one finger width of space between breasts) * very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line) * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full) * short root height, average vertical placement * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away) * conical shape (but will squish to round) * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame * front (anterior) rib flares
Band: * length: stays in place with wear * wings: too short, boobs escape
Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine. (Not nearly as high as the “full coverage” version.)
Straps: * Feel wide-set but don’t slip. * Adjust short enough.
Cups: * Wires too narrow (but stay firmly on breast). * Top of cup smooth (due to stretch lace) but wrinkles in the non-stretch, lower horizonal panel (cup expects more upper fullness). * Bottom of cup: wrinkles or gaps (not enough immediate projection at wire) * Sturdy wires stay put (aren’t pushed down or out by poor fit). * Cup apex: fits (not too deep, too shallow, nor off-center) * Give a wide, oval, slightly projected shape. * Outer edge of cup encloses Tail of Spence (and it stays there with movement).
Assessment and Plan * Tried this bra because the 32F Fantasie Fusion Full Coverage was really close to an awesome fit -- just cut uncomfortably into the tail of Spence after a few hours of wear. Was really, really hoping that this similar model would be a winner, because looks lower cut through the armpit. * No measurements available on Bratabase, so picked the best fitting size of the similar model. * Like the sophisticated look of the sheer/opaque striped fabric. * Cups too narrow and too deep. Style too projected. STOP. Read more 356 more words

Cups: * Gives an oval shape. * Wires too narrow. * Top of cup wrinkles. * Bottom of cup wrinkles (breasts looking for more projection). Breast pushes wire down.
Straps: * too far apart, slip * adjust short enough
Comfort & Fit Summary * The black fabric with white pin-stripes is super cute yet sophisticated. And flattering. * Band too big, cups too big & narrow. * Try 30F. By the measurements, cup likely too narrow. However, Fantasie has soft wires, so might work. * By the measurements table for this style, a 30FF would probably be a better cup width, but all colors are sold-out on Amazon. Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine.
Cups: * Gives an oval, pointy shape. * Wires too narrow. * Top of cup smooth (because so much breast tissue is outside the wires). * Bottom of cup wrinkles. Breasts pushing wire down to find more projection.
Straps: * too far apart, slip * adjust short enough
Comfort & Fit Summary * Band too big, cups too small. * Tried because the cups of the 32E were too small. Cups are still too narrow. * Consider trying 30F, but measurements suggest cups will be too narrow and band tight. However, Fantasie wires are stretchy, so might work. Read more 220 more words
I don't like the straps set so far apart. They cut in to my arms and cause the cups to buckle near the straps when I move. I'm not crazy about the stiff cups. (In fact the bra arrived in the mail very crushed and with major creases in the cups. Time doesn't seem to be relaxing the creases. Maybe body heat from wearing would help.) Wires are too long so that they sit on my ribs, out of my IMF by .5" on my larger side & .75" on my smaller side. But the width of the wires was fine. I wish it had 3 hooks ...instead of only 2. I'm not crazy about the tall gore. It's narrow enough that it's not painful, but definitely not my preferred height for my short torso.
I like the appearance this bra gives under clothes. Nicely rounded, but not bowling balls. I get no quadding. Nice proportions for a projected shape. I like the band. Feels true to size and is comfortable. I like the fully adjustable straps with restricted stretch. I like the height of the wings, but borders on slightly too tall.
I don't think the next cup size down will fix the issue of the wires being too long. Read more 98 more words
This is an example of the difference in European sizing which can be very confusing: I ordered what I thought was going to be a US 32F (32:7) through Amazon and received a US 32G, aka UK 32F, (which is probably OK since several reviews said it ran small). The fit was somewhat loose across the top of the cups when I 'slouched' and the bra needed more upper fullness than I have. The band was cleverly designed that it had lace wings layered over the band in the back to smooth out back fat. However, because I am low-set, it didn't function ...the way it was designed: the top edge of the lace sat a full 3 inches below the back of my armpit, so unfortunately it was ineffective. The lace that was used could also be improved. It only had 1-way stretch (on the lengthwise grain) and none on the crosswise grain. The deal breaker for me was the gore... very tall and over an inch wide, which sat on my close-set breast tissue. If it had been a plunge I probably would have kept it or looked for a US 32F. Ultimately, I guess I assumed because Fantasie is a UK brand that the size chart on Bratabase would be UK sizing as well. I should have paid more attention to the chart on Amazon's webpage. This was one of the only brands / styles of unpadded bras that fit my FOB, shallow, wide roots almost as if it had been made for them. I didn't think it was going to work and didn't have high hopes when I first saw it (especially after having failed to fill in the top of unpadded Freyas and Curvy Kates in the same size), but it fit to perfection. I originally purchased the aqua color on eBay for a good price and was so excited I went back and bought a brown one too. I've had to restrain myself from buying it in every colorway! (Guess I got a little excited to finally find an unpadded bra that actually works for my difficilt to fot shape.) My only wish is that the upper lace area was lined underneath, because it definitely won't work under thinner shirts or during cold Midwestern winters. Ah well...
Ooh, so, so close. Gore tacks fantastically! Narrow enough, U-shaped cups! Deep cups with immediate projections! This is just too closed on top for me, leading to persistent quad-boob, even while the cup is clearly slightly too big with wrinkling in the same areas.
The words 'smoothing' and 'moulded' led me to assume this would be a lightly padded T-shirt bra, but it's not. It's a soft cup, and headlights are REMARKABLY visible.
I love this look. It's so vintagey and bombshell, and it looks great with high-waisted bottoms (my favorite kind). It's strong enough to hold up strapless (the strap is really just a cute decoration, and can be removed).
Considering the measurements of this bra (the wires are, on paper, way too wide for me), I'm actually kind of shocked by how good it looks on me. I've never worn a bandeau style, and I was concerned it would be too closed on top. It is, but it doesn't look bad; it doesn't look like "bad fit quad-boob," more like "natural indentation inherent in this style of bra." The ...gore doesn't tack, but it almost seems like it's not necessary, considering the straight-across-ness of a bandeau style (that said, on someone it fit really well, it probably would.) I think the style is probably masking semi-major fit issues, but it looks so cute that I really want it to work.
I do feel a little insecure in it, but as much as I jumped, I couldn't make myself fall out (with or without straps). Read more 76 more words
I purchased this bra used on eBay, and I am quite happy with it, apart from the unfortunate reality that the style is discontinued. As a result I won't go too deep into detail on fit besides to say that it is beautifully feminine - lovely midnight blue with cream/ivory embroidered accents - and a terrific fit. I will enjoy this one for as long as it lasts.
This is my go to right now, but not because it's an amazing bra... because it's the only one that fits me comfortably. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
Top of bra - very minor "dig" into my very soft/pliable tissue. Bottom of cup a touch too shallow/very small amount of empty fabric between UW and breast. However, this is a secure feeling bra that provides a nice shape. Biggest issue is lack of sufficient immediate projection. A fit check from other users also helped show the underwires were too wide. This one is on its way back to the store.
Really light weight, super comfortable and I like the shape it gives, rounded and more close together, the lift is great too!! I think I could go down a cup size, it does not wrinkle, but it is a bit big, overall a wounderful bra, I hope I can find one in nude. The straps adjust all the way, the band is a little bigger than my wacoal bras, it is more like the Chantelle bra I have in 32 band.
Acceptable fit. Top edge of side support panels (under arm) gapes. Comfortable, with medium support. Angled seams very visible under knit tops, creating a distracting line. Thin fabric will show nipple. Decent teardrop shape, not overly downward pointing, but loose edge on side support panels result in a substantial east-west problem. Wears almost like a minimizer. I'm sad I don't like this one more, because it's beautiful not on me — silky satin fabric, gorgeous art deco lace, and I love the aqua color. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />
Problematic fit. Cups may be too small? Top edge cuts into tissue, but apex of cups is not filled and underwires are sitting on tissue on larger side. Comfortable, with firm support. Very smooth under knit tops. Will hide nipple. Racerback option seems to work very well. Pretty good rounded, uplifted shape. Slightly pointy and slightly wide-set, but not too bad.
i bought this bra maybe 3 or 4 years ago....before i knew my real bra size, because like a lot of women i was wearing the wrong bra size, i didnt knew that the band was supposed to fit in the loosest hooks!! jajaja.... And it is in great shape, I don't wear it often, first, because I bought it for a dress that I wore once and second because it doesn't fit right, the band is ok, it fits only on the tightest row of hooks, and even in that row is a little loose, but wearable, to tell you the truth the times I have used ...it stays in place, I guess is because the band is very well built and it is sturdy, the cups are a little big too, ( if I wear it all day the wires hurt a little)but I can get away with it depending on the blouse or dress I put on. I love the bra, I want to buy it again, I hope to find one in my size and in nude color. Beautiful, basic strapless bra. Read more 78 more words
