    Didn't fit

The day has finally come! Just kidding, this actually arrived astonishingly quickly. I placed the order on March 2 after being denied a 60G because "bra will not be holding your breast properly in a place," whatever that means... It shipped on March 10 and I received it on March 14 after DHL had told me it would arrive on the 16th. I have never had an Ewa bra arrive this quickly, and while I shy away from saying that $40 shipping could ever be worth it, the service was great.

In the interest of providing as much detail as I can, I will begin with my comments about ... the bra's construction, then discuss the fit and conclude with pros and cons and whom I think this bra might work for. Bear with me as I write A NOVEL. The fabric is very similar to SF fabric but somewhat more shimmery and with a mesh panel on top that extends from the gore most of the way to the top outer edge of the cup. The cups aside from the mesh are the only part that uses the SF-like fabric, as the rest of the band and the wings are mesh. The straps are, as advertised, convertible, and there are 3 hooks rather than the usual 2. The straps are attached in the back, while the front ends are free, using little J-hooks to attach in your desired location. These J-hooks don't go on tightly enough for the straps not to slip out of them if you're not careful, particularly if you're wearing the straps normally and not crossed, which irritated me when I was first putting on the bra. If I was keeping this I would definitely want to take some pliers to the hooks to make them fit tighter, because they're in danger of slipping off even while just taking the bra off.

About me: I am very projected with even vertical fullness but have very short roots that make me functionally full on bottom in addition to being low set. My smaller side is slightly narrower and more projected than my bigger side. I have a bony sternum that makes high gores painful; I can tolerate Ewa Michalak CHPs/PLs but not SFs/BMs/any Comexim gore/even some UK plunge bras. I am splayed/wide set but somehow have enough tissue in the center for tall gores to sit on it slightly. The ABTF calculator gives me 26GG/H UK (I find that the H is an overestimation) and my best UK size in store is 28G; my best fits are Ewa Michalak 60G CHP bras or occasionally 65FF CHPs if I fasten them on tighter hooks.

To state the obvious, this bra is too small in the cup for me. As usual, lighting is an impediment to really seeing the fit issues, but you can see my quadboob in the closer-up images. The stretchy mesh may help, but I think I'm simply too big for it to do much. When I thoroughly scoop and swoop, the fabric on my bigger side folds on itself. I was pleasantly surprised not to have gapping on top, which can happen to me even in a bra that would otherwise fit fine in the cup due to my short roots. The cups are narrow enough for my bigger side and a little narrower than EM's padded cuts. Unfortunately, I experienced wrinkling at the bottom just like with the SF bra I used to own due to insufficient immediate projection. It's not crazy severe in this case, but definitely noticeable. I have a lot of immediate projection and am just on the border of being pendulous, but my CHP bras sit in my IMF.

I think that going up a cup size to a 65G would mitigate if not eradicate the quadboob, but I'm not sure whether the cups would still sit on breast tissue on either side of my sternum. I don't currently have a BM bra to compare it to because BMs are like my personal torture devices, but based on the BM I have owned in the past, I believe it runs slightly smaller in the cup and has slightly narrower wires. The band definitely runs big, stretching to almost an inch bigger than any other 65FF I own including the secondhand ones and the CH Cherry that I feel runs big in the band. I believe it is also slightly stretchier than other EM cuts. The band is noticeably loose on the loosest hook but would probably fit on the tightest or second tightest.

I really appreciated the low gore of this bra and think it would be great for others like me who suffer from the distressing inability to wear normal height gores. The convertible straps help with this brand's love for the widest set straps ever, but the cups still cut into my armpits slightly (not enough to be uncomfortable). The silhouette it gives me is not my favorite - a hint pointy - but I really prefer padded bras anyway so you might find it very flattering on you. It doesn't seem to be a "cleavage-y" bra like the pictures on the website suggest, but maybe it would be if the cups fit me better?

Unlike a lot of tall/full cup bras, I don't think you need to be FOT or have tall roots in order to not gap in this, but I'm not positive since it's too small in the cup. It does not have much immediate projection and might be less immediately projected than SFs, though I would say the overall fit is probably most similar to an SF. It seems like a great option for a plunge neckline but I suspect that the cups would be more full-coverage in the center in the correct size, so the plunge part of the neckline would have to be narrow. My pet peeve with this bra is the loose J-hooks, which can almost fall off if you touch them too forcefully. If you tighten the straps well, I don't think this would be an issue during wear, but it is definitely an issue while putting the bra on and taking it off.

Please feel free to comment with questions if you're curious about this cut and I will do my best to answer!

TLDR: Fabric like an SF with more mesh. Runs big/stretchy in band, small in cup despite stretch mesh. Possibly slightly narrower but less immediately projected than other EM cuts. Super low gore great. Loose J-hooks bad. Not ideal for all plunge necklines. Not sure about accommodating close set breasts because cups too small. Me sell bra now.

I feel the same way about this bra. In theory, it's an amazing concept. It may need a little bit more work shopping to be great. I've seen several photos of it looking great and giving great cleavage but it fits similarly on me as it does in your photos. I recently ordered another one a cup size up to see if it helps with immediate projection. I'm determined to find a decent fit in this bra since it's the closest I've gotten to a well fitting unlined plunge and I need a very low gore. I wish I could get it in a 60 band because it's so stretchy. The J-hooks I've experienced with Ewa have all been different. Mine stay put easily after a few wears but slipped the first time I was putting it on. I've tried the cappucinowy in a few sizes now and two sets of the attachable straps have been too loose and one set was closed when it arrived and I had to open it with pliers. I think it's minor differences in the metal since they're probably mass produced. I do prefer this strap style over the older removable straps that were much wider and affected the overall construction/depth of the bra. I hope she makes some adjustments over time and finds the right construction. Going back into the earliest Ewa Instagram posts you can see the first BM styles and the changes that have been made so I'm hopeful for some PLM adjustments!

    • 1

WildWolff thanks so much for your super helpful earlier review btw! I used to have a CHP Cappucci-nowy with the removable straps and they stayed on much better, so I guess it's just a manufacturing thing. I like the cross back capability too. I wish I wasn't doomed to never have cleavage in unlined bras...I mightttt try a 65G in that deep pink PLM she posted on Insta the other day but I'm not sure because the band is definitely too big for me. I guess I'm better off just dropping a bunch more money on a custom 60G CHP since my CHPs are all I wear.

    • 1

I wish she would sell more PLMs! I've emailed asking for other styles and she said more will come with no other detail. I like the stretch lace/mesh cups she makes more than the fabric styles of BM/SF so I'm hoping an Antonina or similar PLM will fit better. I have to pad my BM gores with two cotton balls and it's still uncomfortable. But other brands and styles don't fit the same as Ewa bras. When I was measuring at 65F/FF the gores on BM and SM bras were okay for me and I had great cleavage but they're too high for me in larger cups.

    • 3

I posted my last comment without realizing there were three PLM posts on Instagram! I had seen one of the pink sets on my timeline but not the other two posts. And one is the Antonina so now I'm excited to see when they go on the website for sale.

    • 1

Bummer it wasn’t a win due to size. I also had some loose hooks and had to close them with pliers. Now they work perfectly. Hopefully if you size up you can get a better fit.

WildWolff OMG! I saw the hot pink version also! I’m obsessively clicking her website to see when it’s available. Tho I’m not sure if it’s a regular bra or a swimsuit? I need to go look at it again. But I’m loving the black one, especially when my bad shoulder is acting up. Cross straps really help.

    • 2

Happy2BraShop I didn't think about swimsuits! Either way I will probably order lol the darker pink set reminds me of the BM Michelle which was on my list for a while but I didn't get it in time. So now I'm set on ordering early for this one! If you sign up for the email newsletters you'll get an email when new collections drop.

    • 1

Thank you for this detailed and helpful review! Sorry it didn’t work out for you. So weird that the band is stretchy. I’ve found 99% of her bras have too tight bands!

    • 2

WildWolff I think the hot pink might be just a bra! Even if you missed out on a bra, you can always email and ask if they have any fabric left to make one. That’s how I got my Ice Blue and Heaven in the next size up. I think when I place another order I’ll ask if they are considering making a bathing suit version to at least maybe drop the idea and hint at it lol. I know I’d buy one.

    • 1

Happy2BraShop as soon as I noticed there were only a couple sizes left in Michelle I emailed about it and they said they didn't have the fabric left. I wasn't upset about it because fit is hit or miss for me with the BM style. The lace/mesh cups aren't painful at the gore but the stiffer fabric cups are very painful. I haven't figured out why.

    • 1

WildWolff I’ve noticed a stiffer fit with both BM and SF’s that are made using the thicker fabric vs the usual lined lace cups. I partly wonder if the stiffer fabric restricts the wires and cups from flexing like the lined lace?

    • Happy2BraShop It may be that the lace fabric has a little more give to it. I've tried two BMs with the thicker fabric and they're so painful at the gore even if I pad it with cotton balls. With the lace cups the wires sit on tissue in the center a little but it's not uncomfortable and I can wear them for a full day. It seems to be specific to Ewa wires, I can wear Gorsenia with lace or fabric cups and the wires sit on tissue but are not painful until I wear it for over 10 hours.

    • Thanks for the thorough review, moonshineforest ! Have you considered sending Ewa Michalak your quadboob photos? Maybe that would convince them you know your size, for future orders.

How different are the mesh and main body fabric in stiffness? I have a problem with half-padded, half unpadded bra cups. The line where the two fabrics meet always make me look like I have four breasts. I realize Plm Le Noir isn't padded, but your pictures make me think the line where the two fabrics meet might have a similar effect on me.

    • 1

learningaboutbras so I think the reason she denied me a 60G probably had more to do with the construction of the bra than her not believing my size, since I've ordered a bunch of 60G bras before with no issue. With regard to the cups, the mesh is definitely stretchier than the opaque fabric but I don't think that the cup cuts in where the two meet like, for example, Cleo Marcie always did on me. It's certainly possible that it could though.

    • Only the cup volume is the same in 60G and 65FF, so it would still have quadded in the 60G. It’s a neat style for sure, but I think it’s not for everyone.

    • Calluna yep, that’s why I said I would go up a cup size to a 65G. I doubt I’ll bother though. I’m thinking about a custom CHP Kleks to spend my money on instead.

    • moonshineforest , thanks for the analogy! Cleo Marcie did work on me in terms of no quadboob looking indentation. I loved the shape it gave me. I had to leave it behind once I realized regular height gores were resting on breast tissue. I may try Plm Le Noir then.

When I saw this on Ewa Michalak’s Instagram, I NEEDED it! I’m always looking for a cross-back option, even going as far as turning an EM nursing bra into a functioning cross-back. I was so excited to see WildWolff do a review on this and snatched one up ASAP.

The cup of this bra is based on the typical SF cut. The lower fabric of the cup is a more ridged black fabric made of three lower sections and an upper stretch mesh. The top portion of the cup is a very strong black power mesh folded over on itself. Comparing to a few ... SF’s I’ve had, this mesh is stronger. Because this bra is new the mesh has not relaxed so you can see in one of the angle shots it flattens out my boob slightly. This doesn’t take away from the overall fit, especially under clothes. This should go away once the bra warms up and relaxes with wear. The band, as mentioned by WildWolff, is on the stretchy side but it’s comfortable. It consists of two layers of black power mesh, and is edged much like a bathing suit vs the typical band elastic you find on most bras. The back clasp is a 3x4 and I love it! My personal preference has always been 3 hooks and was sad when she stopped making the size 65G with it instead opting for 2. The wires do measure wider, but only because they are way lower at the gore so you’re measuring more on an angle. The black elastic straps have a slight sheen of them with black hardware. There straps attach at the front using a ring and hook. There is a small black satin bow on the center gore with a diamond pendant. Overall I’m very pleased.

It looks amazing! Mine loosened up and felt more comfortable/broken in after a few wears. It's my most comfortable bra currently. I've been wanting to order another one and I'm hoping for an Antonina PLM on the website soon. The 65GG looks great for depth!

    • 3

WildWolff I was surprised by how comfortable it was right out of the bag. I almost want to say it’s Comexim comfortable. Good to know it relaxes. While I’m not mad at the slightly retro look it casts at the moment, it’s my total jam and much prefer a rounder look lol. Maybe try emailing her and see if they can make one now. I ordered my BM Heaven before it was really out there. I’d definitely love to see her make this bra in more color ways.

    • 4

Happy2BraShop I sent an Instagram message asking about it and got a wink face as a reply lol maybe I will email and try to get one. She's posted a couple of colors of PLM on Instagram and some other new bras recently, so maybe there will be a fun spring line of styles/colors coming soon!

    • 2

You got it! It looks amazing on you! I'm so excited to get a PLM, would you say it gives you the full "PL effect"? What size do you think I should go for if 60G fits well in BM? I got ewa to agree to make me a PLM Antonina!

    • 2

marilynne I definitely feel it gives me good cleavage, especially when straps are crossed. Size wise, Hmmm well for me, right now, I’m kind of in between a 65G and 65GG in BM (based on the two I own both sizes in). I’m probably leaning a wee more GG. I can still wear my 65G’s but if I gain anymore weight they are done for lol.
Would you say 60G BM is a perfect fit with a little wiggle room in the cup? I’d go with your size.
Right at this moment PL GG is fitting me pretty good without the cookies. My new SM is dead on in a GG. Hope that helps.

    • 2

So I'm in the same boat, 60G is a bit small in the cup but 60GG is a bit big in the cup (neither shows up as gapping/quadding because BM is an amaxing cut but I can feel it). I'm leaning towards a 65FF because the antonina lace seems to be extra stretchy. Right now 65G PL and SM fit me pretty well.

    • 1

marilynne I wish I had my new 65GG SF’s to add to the comparison. I can tell you a 65G SF does not fit me at all! The apex of the cup is way too short. So my nipple ends up above the horizontal line in the middle of the cup. Which I suspect the new 65GG will fit me great considering the apex horizontal line of my 65GG BM’s is slightly big. If that makes any sense lol.
I’m just going to throw this out there. It would be amazing if EM offered a try on box containing a few sizes of each cut to “try before you buy”. That would make this so much easier lol.

    • 1

Yay, glad it worked out for you! And thanks for the detailed review. So far it seems that this bra is a winner for everyone. I may break down and buy one lol

    Used to fit

As promised to about ten people, I have added as much detail as I can in measurements and photos with captions for this bra. I usually wait to see other reviews for a new style, but as soon as I saw pictures of this on Ewa's Instagram, I knew I would get it as soon as I could. It took about 11 days from ordering to get to me. I basically only wear the padded PLs these days as I need an extremely low gore. I am center full, functionally full on bottom, with soft tissue, lots of squish, narrow roots, and symmastia. Gores higher than 2.2" sit ... on tissue, and higher than 2.4" and I'm in a lot of pain. I love the SF and BM styles as they're more comfortable and fit better than the padded styles, but they aren't a technical fit and I need to pad them with cotton balls to only have mild discomfort. I did not think an unlined PL that fit me was possible! This isn't my holy grail, ultimate, best bra of all time, but considering my needs and how precise the bra construction is, it is close. The cup width measurement is wide, but the cup itself is not wide. The wire lines up with most of my other EM bras but the extremely low gore makes the measurement wider. If the gore was slightly taller, the cup width measurement would reflect the narrow wires we know and love from Ewa. I love that it has three hooks, although the band is a little stretchy and not like the firm EM bands I'm used to. The cup separation is about as far as I can handle, any more and it would not fit. I went with Ewa's suggestion of ordering the same size as I would for BM and SF and it fits perfectly on my smaller side. The fabric is stretchy and accommodates shape well, so it stretches to fit the larger side just barely. If I order another, which I probably will order several, I will size up in the cup. The strap attachments are similar to the removeable straps on my PL Capuucinowy, just larger. The straps came apart when I was adjusting them so I was worried they would come off while wearing, but they feel very secure when on. It lays flat and doesn't show under tight t-shirts. The wing and edge of the cup are a little high and I'm short so it comes up higher than a BM or SF would under the arm. The cup fabric is rigid and sewn similar to the SF style, so there are some wrinkles in the cup no matter how much I adjust. If I could tighten the straps a little more, they almost go away, but I can't tighten anymore because of the cup/wing height. The straps don't fall off my shoulders so it's not a fit issue at all, just the wrinkles. Crossing the straps in the back is comfortable and doesn't get rid of all the wrinkles in the cup. This is the most comfortable bra I own, although I could say that about other EM unlined styles if the gore didn't cause so much pain for me. I'm very impressed with the construction and I can't wait for more colors to come out so I can order them all!

Yay, I'm so glad that you were able to make this unlined EM comfortable!

    • 3

carrythedollhouse I was scared to get my hopes up but it lived up to the expectations!

    • 2

yea! I can't wait to try this bra!
It looks really pretty in black; such projection for a bra with such a low gore, you know.

Normally I would think that such a low gore would have a shallow shape; looks like more Ewa sorcery, lol.

    • 2

edit: WildWolff , I so appreciate you buying this bra, tbh. I haven't seen any other reviews!

    • 4

BraOdyssey it does run a little more shallow than the BM, SF, and SMs I've tried, but I'm amazed by the projection and construction! Every single detail in this bra works together to make it possible. I looked at it for ten minutes before trying it on to figure out how it could possibly work. Even my Engineer husband who knows of my bra woes and symmastia problems said "it doesn't seem possible" when I told him there was a narrow unlined super low plunge in my size. I didn't think it could be done so it's literally a bra dream come true for me.

    • 3

BraOdyssey I usually wait for bra reviews but as soon as I saw this on the website I decided it was worth being one of the first to try since I've been waiting for so long for something like this. I'm also looking at the SF Blackjack now, the construction of that one looks so unique too.

    • 4

Wow ty for taking the time to write such a detailed review! I wish they made this style when I was first getting into abtf but at least it exists now haha. It looks great!

    • 1

Thank you for the detailed review, very helpful. Glad it worked out for you!

    • 2

How comparable to the PL is it? Glad it worked so well for you!

    • 2

AllyBra it's very similar to the SF style from Ewa. Compared to the PL: the band is a little stretchier because of the material. The band measurement unstretched and stretched is similar, but the material on PLM is a few layers of mesh and the finishing is also stretchy so it may stretch out quicker. I would say the projection is similar to PL, the PLM has a little more because it's unlined, but it's a little more shallow than the SF or BM because of the low gore and the cut/seams of the cup fabric. Cup width is the same, gore is even lower then the PL somehow, more cup separation, wing is a little higher.

    • 2

confusedandshort and margesimpson you're welcome! I'm also glad it worked out! I think there may be a red one in the future, it looks like Ewa is wearing it in her latest Instagram post. I'm telling myself that I should wait to see if there are more colors before I buy more, it's an excellent comfort/lounge bra for me since I need support all the time.

This looks amazing on you! I’ve been wanting one but husband cut me off from bra buying for a while, booooo.
I’m unsure what size I should go for. My SM’s are wee small now, but my BM’s are fitting fine in sizes 65G. Not sure if I should size up to a GG? SF for me runs short at the apex in G cup, and this looks like the SF construction? What are your thoughts?

Happy2BraShop I'm still amazed that my husband hasn't had a problem with the number of bras that come in the mail lol Let me know if you're looking to sell any of those SMs that are too small! I'm currently measuring at a 30G UK and when I order another one I plan to get a 65GG (I'm hoping they put Antonina PLM on the website soon!). It fits smaller and more shallow than a 65G BM and SF. I asked Ewa and she said she wears the same size in PLM as she does BM and SF. It's not a bad fit in 65G, but I'm hoping 65GG helps a little with depth. The construction is very similar to SF. I like the new hook and ring strap more than the removable straps that she used to use which affected fit and projection more.

WildWolff Thanks for the size tip! Think I’ll shoot for 65GG then. I’ve had it sitting in my cart for a few days trying to decide. :)
I need to clean out my bra drawer and assess some fits. :)

I'm desperate to try this but kinda struggling to figure out which size(s) to try since everything is in cm and my body seems to measure exact inches all the time, but really weird fractions of a cm and dyscalculia makes the bigger numbers harder to get right too. That and the PL ones I tried a while back didn't fit well at all and I've gained weight since then. Currently not really wearing a bra, but the ones I got last August from Bravissimo fitted best in the 32HH and 30J Niya style (was kinda between the two, wore both with extenders because I have a small front frame and new from past try ons that Bravissimo bras don't work in a 34 band for me). The Satine which had previously been my go to was just too tall and wide in those sizes. And weirdly, whilst the Niya had less projection, the more vertical seaming allowed it to mould to my shape more, forcing it to have a bit more projection.

The bras I got from Ewa were all the PL Zlote Oko at a time when I measured 30" for my underbust and 38" overbust and was just sizing out of the Bravissimo Satine in a 32FF (finding the G too wide, tall etc, yet still not projected enough). At the advice of people here I tried the 70FF, 70G, 70GG, and because I felt I was probably towards the higher end and in between bands, the 75G. The 70 bands were too tight. The 75 was fine. But the best fitting cup/wire width and gore height was the 70FF, it just didn't have enough projection at all. The other sizes were all too wide and tall in every way, and all had issues with the straps not actually being able to sit on my shoulders. An issue I hadn't had since I was a 32C and tried to wear balcony bra styles (did not work, I needed plunges even then).

So I know this bra likely will still have *some* fit issues, but I'm struggling to figure out what to try. Currently measure 34" for underbust and 46" for bust. I need to update my profile here when I can manage the numbers to do the more nuanced measurements.

AlexaFaie you can change to inches at the bottom of the page. I have some of the same issues where a 65FF is the best for me with cup width and gore height, but I need more cup volume. In terms of the band, it's not like the PL band. It's two layers of power mesh and has more stretch to it. I currently measure at 30G UK and wear 65G in the unlined Ewa models and 65GG in the padded styles. Ewa recommended ordering the same size I wear in unlined styles. The 65G fits okay, a little shallow. I plan to order another in 65GG soon. I would recommend a smaller band if you're in between, because the cup fabric does come up into the armpit area and so I would assume the smaller band may have a shorter cup and a more narrow cup. I hope this helps!

I couldn't find the bit to change to inches on Ewa's site (that's where I was looking for sizing for this style since there isn't enough info in anything close to my size on here yet). I have here set in inches already. Her calculator suggests an 80GG which confuses me because in the table that says it will fit a bust of 114cm. An 80H would fit a 116.5cm bust and my bust (46") google tells me is 116.84. So I'm confused why it wouldn't suggest the 80H. I don't know if it matters, but my bust, whilst somewhat malleable, measures the same standing, leaning, and lying down. Like it shifts around, but the measurement doesn't alter. Only difference is when I lean forwards it lets it sit higher on my chest so the circumference doesn't include my broader lower rib, but does include my skin stretching a bit with the weight of my boobs. In which case I'm guessing trying a 80H and something on the 75 band. Size chart for 75HH says 114cm, 75J is 116.5cm. So that is a little confusing. Do I do a straight sister size or go with the one which actually mentions the number I measure at? I'm thinking that I might at least be able to narrow the gore if needed to bring the cups closer & further away from my armpits and this style looks super easy to alter. I'll leave myself a note for tomorrow to go try the 75GG on back to front & upside down to see if the band will work or not. Though I'll probably get two sizes just in case. I've been avoiding trying 34 bands at Bravissimo simply because I never got the proper support when I was smaller (I did have some 34B and 34Cs because they were too pretty not to have them, but mostly wore 32Cs for years until my breasts decided to get bigger at university and then again on meds). But I do measure 34" now, so might be worth trying that larger band just in case. Even though I know the cup separation will increase because bra manufacturers are evil or something (I joke).

AlexaFaie sorry I didn't know you meant on Ewa's site, I was talking about bratabase. From what I've read, the calculator on her site is off for most people. I can get it to tell me the size I know fits if I tweak the centimeters a little bit. I recommend getting the 34 band if that's what you're measuring at right now, especially because it's a stretchy band. I would get this in 60H if it was easy to get a 60 band from Ewa. The cup separation on this bra is so far! Any farther and it wouldn't work for me. Another option you could consider is the SF blackjack. I haven't tried it but it's on my list.

    • 2

The SF blackjack looks interesting, but I'm not sure that would fit well as it looks to be more of a full cup style which I've never been able to wear, plus it looks more east-west in terms of volume. My main issue is that bras often have all the volume in the sides. My nipple point is always an inch or two closer to the middle than its expected to be. So if I force myself into that sort of style it really tugs on that bit in the middle where the breast roots join one another. You know the painful spot? I never understand how anyone can cope with the pain of having their breasts pulled apart like that.

    • 2

Does make me think though, is there an average for where on ones torso the nipple point is expected to be? I've seen before people suggesting that the straps are meant to sort of line up with the area of greatest volume (where the nipple would sit) but my nipples are in line with the sides of my neck. Nipple to nipple is 4". Is there anywhere where people have discussed that aspect of fit? I've just measured my 32G Satine (which doesn't fit, but it was the easiest to grab) and laid flat the most projected points are more than 6" apart (my ruler I have close is only 6" long, my tape measure is in the bedroom & my partner is asleep). Which I guess explains some of the fit issues lol.

    • 1

AlexaFaie I don't think there's an average, it really depends on fullness and volume and body type and all sorts of factors. All breasts and bodies are different. Mine are pretty separate because I have center fullness which makes them point away from each other when not supported. And I have no separation of tissue between the breasts and I'm a small person overall so there are many factors that come into play with the distance.

Thank you to marilynne for letting me try this new cut before buying it myself!

I wore this quite a bit, and I mostly liked it. The cups are narrow and deep, and I love how low the gore is. I have relatively soft tissue, and my breasts are moderately center full; I was sure I would fall out of this at some point during the day, but I didn't! It is a testament to Ewa's competency as an engineer.

I'm pretty broad-shouldered and don't usually have the issue of Ewa's straps being too wide set for me. That said, I love the option of crossing the ... straps to alleviate that problem for those that do struggle with them. I did briefly try the straps crossed, and while I would like that on a swimsuit, I did not care for it in a bra. I have sensitive spots along my traps, and crossing the straps puts them right on those pressure points. That's a pass from me on long-term wearability.

I also loved that the clasp was 3x4. Bras in this size range rarely have such a robust clasp, and that's a shame. While not particularly sexy looking, it does wonders for dispersing tension more evenly across the band and improves comfort. I really would like to see it on more bras in my size. I can get that from Comexim, but this is the first Ewa to have it in my size other than a strapless.

I did get some wrinkling in the bottom of the cup, and in addition, the top of the wires of the awesomely low gore happened to dig into my ribs painfully. That digging is a dealbreaker for me. Coupled with the cup issue, I'm curious if a 65G may fit me better. However, I'm high set and short-rooted, so I think a cup up will be too tall for me in the cups and may not resolve the issues I had with the bra.

Overall, the cut is pretty good. While the issues I mentioned are reasons for me to abstain from a bra, I'm more tolerant of them in a swimsuit. I may jump on this cut for that purpose and grab the PLM Sunshine.

i ordered this as soon as it was available and it's been my most worn bra since.
    - it's the only bra i've ever worn that actually it's high enough on my chest.
    - *love* the crossed straps, very comfortable to wear and they stay in place much better than regular straps.
    - the band is very stretchy but still somehow does a decent job of keeping everything contained throughout the day, possibly because of the firmer panel at the wings.
    - it's not a perfect fit, i've been holding out for the antonina they teased awhile ago hoping it might be less visible through clothing but i might get another one of these first. still trying to figure out what size to go with. the 95dd is a little small in the cup and the band is too large so if i size up in the cup that would probably make it worse but i'm not entirely sure how ewa's cup sizing changes on different band sizes so might need to do another round of trial and error.

    Stretched Band 28.65
    Band Length 22"
    Cup width 5.5"
    Cup depth 9.5"
    Wire length 9"
    Cup height 6.75
    Cup separation .75
    Gore height 1
    Wing height 4.25
    Strap width .6
    Strap length 16.75
    Hooks 3

Same cut/fit as the regular SF, which I LURVE. In the most general sense, this style feels like an upgrade from the 'too open/loose on top' regular style. However, there is a much shorter upper band proportionately, which throws the fit off a bit for ... me and am not sure if this is meant to be super sturdy with minute give, in anticipation that it WILL stretch out easily from regular wear? Or, the upper band is meant to hold the whole breast in more compact fashion to compensate for the extra low gore, and avoid spills. So far this seems to produce crumpling/collapsing, line-of-demarcation/wide divot along breast before roots, and a generally weird digging pressure.
My breasts are pretty short/small/functionally FOB if not actually FOB, with not much tissue around the inner cup, and this part of the bra feels closer to Panaches' Andorra than I'm comfortable with (decided that bra detests inner fullness of any type).

finally got around to ordering the plm in another size. the first one i ordered was very obviously too small in the cup and too large in the band but i kept it anyway because of how comfortable it was. went down two bandsizes when one would've been enough (the 85 band isn't nearly as stretchy as the 95), and up a cup (so 95dd to 85ff). i'm not sure if i should've gone up two cupsizes because i still get a bit of overspill in the stretchy part of the cup (it looks a bit like (minor) quadding through clothes, especially since my nipples end up in the stretchy part) but i'm not sure if it's actually too small or if it's just from having soft tissue. apart from that it seems to fit fairly well.

misaligneddesk How does this fit compared to the other EW bras you have? I have always preferred the PL styles, but have trouble getting the gores to tack. I'm wondering if this might fix that. Do you feel like it allows for the same amount of center projection as her other styles?

    • mtblankus i've not tried the pl style yet so can't compare to that specifically but i'd say it's fairly close although probably/possibly slightly shallower and wider than their narrowest styles. for reference bm is a little too projected and narrow for me while sf isn't (but the gores on both are too high for me). i'm very close set and this is the only bra i've tried so far that really works.

also, the bm-based plms (antonina, malena and probably dust though i haven't tried that one) seems to give noticeably more lift and are more projected than le noir which i'm assuming is based on their basic black sf.
